Well, this one messed with my emotions! What an absolute rollercoaster of a journey.
Vic and Xav had gone through something truly horrible, leaving them dependant on one another, but also unhinged (Vic especially).
When she found someone who was nice to her, and who she thought she could love, she went entirely the wrong way about it (not really knowing any better) and trapped him in her awful life.
This story had action, violence, revenge, but also had spice, love and humour. It was crazy, but I also enjoyed it all.
Now that I'm done, though, I'm not sure how to feel! This author is great at shocking you, and this one definitely did that.

Holy moley.. these stories by this author will rip you apart and leave you screaming. Not sure how I ca describe this story other than it is not the kind of story that leaves you with a warm and fuzzy feeling after reading it. This author is dark and her stories are intense with often an extremely dark twist to them.
This story certainly had a darkness to it and be warned this isn't a pleasant story but intense and if you can take it well worth the read!

Holy crap on a cracker!! This was like one of those rickety wooden roller-coasters at a fun fair...you are enjoying the adrenaline rush but you also keep covering your eyes because you think you might die.
The twists and turns had me dizzy, the spice had me blushing on the number 36 bus and my god the twin scene 😱

I still can’t talk about this book, the emotions it brought out in me are still lingering. This is so well written and god it’s just everything. I can’t put into words how much I loved it. If Harley has written it I’m reading it! This is about a girl named Vic who is an assasin who ends up kidnapping university professor Jacob to save him and this is their story. This is dark, there’s stalking involved, there’s forced proximity and a whole load of spice. This book is literally everything to me.

Vic and her "brother" have a unique bond even tho he has a gf, and Vic has Jacob. When Father decides Vic is doing too much and going against everything he had instilled in her. He decided Jacob had to go. There was no way she was letting either one of them go without a fight.

I can’t believe I have a 6 star read this early in the year! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Harley my darling your amazing 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Tissues at the ready if your gonna read this because damn you Harley you broke my heart (in a good way)! This book is pure passion - not just for smut action but passion for freedom and a life they deserved to have.
You will need to read the trigger warnings - Analingus/rimming, breath play/hand necklaces, assassinations, stalking, drugging, non consensual, suicide to just name a few. This book has a raw brutality to it so don’t read if taboo subjects or certain activities like above are triggers for you
Harley has nailed this standalone and for once I’m grateful that you don’t get the happy ending that most authors would go for instead you get the heartbreakingly beautiful ending that’s had me ugly crying.
Vic and xav are now part of my bookish family. They should never have had to experience what they did as children and to lead the life they are. Vic in particular because that woman doesn’t believe she is worthy of love or happiness and yes she’s a completely deranged psychotic but let’s face it most of the good woman are! She becomes the title completely and I’m so glad she did get a brief happiness with Jacob.
As main characters go Vic is up there with the best. She’s totally f’d up, crazy, insane etc but most of all she wants what everyone else has - to be loved, to be safe and to have a home away from the collective and away from father! God that man makes my skin crawl!
The plot is fab - government experiment where kids were taken from orphanages and beaten and trained into become killing machines. Vic or ten as she’s known was a baby when she was taken and xav or six was a toddler. They because each others safe space (no intimacy). They have been collecting evidence in order to bring the collective down. They even re locate the innocent people they are told to kill. All was on plan until vic runs into Jacob and his coffee burns her hand. From that moment she instantly becomes obsessed with him, stalking him and breaking into his home. What she doesn’t realise is that Father - who hates her- has been having her followed and knows about Jacob. What follows is her mission to save Jacob him to fall in love with her and for her and xav to bring down the collective and kill father. Some parts go to plan but others don’t. Epic read

Wow! Where do I begin? This was a punch to the stomach. I typically don't read books without a HEA and I did not know that going in. I am glad that I read it though. And I guess you can interpret that end as somewhat of a HEA. I loved Xav and Vic's relationship. I even loved the H even though he was not nearly as memorable. I also loved the complexity of this story. The FMC was such a bad@ss! I mean she is the most amazing and ruthless killer I have ever read. The action scenes were written so vividly that it played through my mind like the coolest action flick ever. She was such a boss B!tch.
I did not like how she was intimate with others throughout the book. I guess in a way that it made sense since she didn't process sex/love the same as others. But, yes it really bothered me, I can't lie.
This tore my heart open and spit it out. The way it ended was so heartbreaking. But again, it was one of the most well written and captivating stories I have ever read. It was so unlike my usual books.

🔥Oh Harley, do you know how to write a bad ass fuck around and find out FMC? Yes, yes you do. Again, I find myself in love with the world you’ve created, the incredible characters and their intoxicating story.
⛓️Vic and Xav are everything and they worked their way into my heart. Their dynamic and intimate heartfelt moments deeply moved me. Jacob is very intelligent and falls right into place as the story unfolds. The sexual chemistry and feisty banter is perfect. Unconventional to say the least, Vic and Jacob’s relationship evolves into something very deep and soul consuming.

I'm a huge fan of Harley's books but this one definitely was refreshing in the sense that while it's Dark Romance there's elements within the story that gave this book the insensitivity to keep me intrigued from start to the very ending. And let me tell you that ending was perfect for this story.
Vic and Xav relationship is a bind build from childhood travesty by the hands of their Father. They were crafted to become superhuman assassins by any means possible. They work for the elite, government, and anyone the Organization feels needs to be taken care of to better their agenda.
For 2 emotionless machines, they are devoted to each other. When a man spills his coffee on Vic, there's an instant obsession that is a pivotal point in the story.
Check the trigger and content warnings! This is definitely a book to be read!

OMG😭. This book was absolutely amazing. First chapter was super spicy but then kinda started going down. But it was saved after reading more about Vic and Xav. Thier story was so touching. I love that they still had a bond and were fighting to get out. Vic is one bad a$$ chick. I love the fact that it was the women who was the kidnapper, the lover and the savor. So different and I liked that. Ending of the book mad me cry. I rreally thought Jacob and Xav were still here and would show up at the end but nope. Ending shocked me. Highly recommend reading this book

This was a wild ride of assassins, overthrowing power, learning to love, found family, and so much spice!
Vic and Xav are so sweet with each other. Their upbringing is sad but it was nice to see the sweeter side of the assassins and how they cared for each other.
This story held me in a chokehold up until the very last page. If you like the story of Black Widow from the comics but wanted a darker side this is the book for you.

Be sure to check the trigger warnings as it’s not for the faint hearted.

There was some parts that had me questioning my morals but even after finishing the book, I can’t stop the tears to actually write a review! She Just wanted to be loved.

In typical Harley Raige style, a hell of a lot happens in the first half of the book, which it turns out to actually be the first 25% of the book. WOW that's a lot going on! This is dark and very dirty with a great subplot - which is very typical in Harley's style of bringing you into the story and then she hits you with it!
VIc and Jacob's interactions range from sweet to kinky, and pretty much something in between. An enjoyable forced proximity scenario.
If you like her other books you will without a doubt love this one!

I loved this book, was absolutely nuts but I loved the FMC. Vic was strong and fearless and totally off her rocker but it just made you love her more. And that ending!! Harley Raige you made me laugh and cry, another awesome book.

This book starts off with a bang, and ends with an even bigger one
Listening to gritty love songs might've added to the emotional side specially at the end but damnnnnn

This book is NOT for everyone. It is dark, gritty, deviant and has many many triggers. But having said that I can also say it is well written, character driven and hard to put down. Read at your own risk but if you can handle it.... you won't regret it.

What a book - gripped from the beginning! Starts off 🔥 and keeps going. I loved Vic what a badass she is , going through her trauma and pursuing her dreams (check triggers). It’s a rollercoaster of events that leave you shocked and intrigued !

I wasn't ready for this
Oh my goodness I wasn't ready for the twists and turns and emotions in this book. It was truly very well written and I can't even believe it ended like it did. It was a really good book that I would recommend to everyone x

OMG Harley, where do these thoughts come from, you have the wildest imagination I think I’ve ever come across and I LOVE it.
Whilst I don’t consider myself a Karen I must admit that I found myself, on occasion, raising my hand to inevitably clutch onto the non existent pearls around my neck lol 😂.
I absolutely loved Vic and Jacob’s story ❤️❤️❤️ totally unconventional and sometimes a little disturbing but a love story nonetheless and I’d venture to say an epic love story at that.
Vic and Xav, partners, trained killers, loved each other as family, sister and brother since they were held captive as toddlers.
Vic’s need for love lead her to Jacob, they made me laugh in places throughout their story, this book is a definite page turner, it is thoroughly entertaining. 100% recommend this book to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ you will not be disappointed 🖤😎
