Deep within the swamp, there lie dark secrets only the bones know…
Once a promising Louisiana detective, John Kincaid was destined for great things. Then his wife and their unborn daughter were found murdered and his world spiraled out of control. Kincaid now finds himself languishing in prison, serving out his time for nearly killing two men in a rage-fueled bar fight.
But he won’t be staying there.
A sculpture built from human bone has been found in the swamp, and it’s identical to the one from Kincaid’s final unsolved case as a detective. A deal is struck–work release from prison in exchange for his help in solving the horrific crime.
Kincaid must conquer his own demons for one last shot at closing the case of the Bone Artist. If he succeeds, there’s a chance for a pardon. But with each new twist and turn in the case, Kincaid soon realizes that a return to prison may be the least of his concerns.
Only The Bones Know is the captivating debut crime thriller from Jack Dane, perfect for readers who love Michael Connelly, David Baldacci, James Patterson, and D.D. Black.
Not bad but not the greatest for me. I was hoping it would wow me especially it being rated so high but unfortunately a three star was being very nice 🙁
What I enjoyed was the fact that I cared about the main character John Kincaid. I have to feel invested in a character to give the story a chance. And the story is very good.
Really enjoyed this story and all the characters. Good writing and good storetelling..this will not dissapoint in the way of excitement..thank you for the great story..going to read the 2nd one now!!
Jake Dane has made an impressive start to the series, and I'm eager to see how the story develops. I'm curious about the direction he will take the characters in as the series progresses
This book was a goodread, I was just looking for more that never came. However I will read the next book in this series. I feel the series will get better.
