Actually Yours is the sweetest, cutest, most adorable romance. From the first chapter I was absolutely enamored with Amelia & Jake. Characters from Belinda's previous serie Love Always do have a big part of this book, but it reads totally fine as a standalone. Truly you'll want to read all of them though. Belinda has easily and quickly become one of my autobuy/autoread authors, she writes it, I read it!

She is a master character crafter. The way these characters are so perfectly constructed, so amazing and realistic, they feel like they're your friends. I loved how solid the friendships were, always supporting each other and there for one another. Amelia definitely has a lot of self doubt which can be frustrating, but the growth she goes through to get to where she is at the end is beautiful. Jake.. is the perfect book boyfriend. Everyone needs a Jake in their life, he is the sweetest, cutest, swooniest MMC. Their chemistry was off the charts.

Another hit by Belinda. Her books are just always so easy, fun and quick reads which I love. You just can't help falling in love with these characters.

✨️Thank you to @belindamary for my gifted ARC in exchange for an honest review.

When Amelia Anderson’s best friend gets married, she finds herself as the last single girl in a room full of couples. This realization prompts her to consider diving back into the dating pool.

Enter the Dating Plan. Her well-meaning friends devise a strategy to help her re-enter the dating scene, complete with a color-coded binder. What could possibly go wrong?

As it turns out, everything. Amelia embarks on a series of disastrous dates that make her swear off dating forever. However, there is a silver lining: Jake Johnson, her ex-boyfriend’s older brother, who keeps coming to her rescue, making her feel safe, protected, and special.

Jake has always been the guy who represented everything Amelia was afraid to want, leading her to settle for less in the past. Now that he's back in her life, he’s stirring up emotions she struggles to ignore. Despite being off-limits, Jake feels like the only right choice in a sea of wrong ones.

As Amelia navigates her tumultuous dating journey, she can’t help but wonder: if Jake is truly off-limits, why does he feel like her Mr. Right?

This book beautifully captures the “guy meets girl and he falls first” trope. I loved every minute of this romance—it’s like a subtle high school love story set in the big wide world.

I would love to read more about Amelia and Jake, the six months given was simply not enough for my romantic heart. I’m thrilled that Amelia found her happily ever after, although this took her through so much emotional baggage, which was never hers, to begin with. Amelia’s realization of her love for Jake during Christmas was my favourite part, as I’m a sucker for Christmas movies and the festive season. Cue the cliché love scene and the line "You had me at Hello"—my ultimate swoon-worthy combo. I will forever fall in love.

Another sweet closed door romance by Belinda Mary! Amelia’s best friend gets married and she’s the only single one amongst her friends. After he ex, Robby, broke up with her, she stopped dating and swore off men. She started wondering if it was time to date again. Her friends help her come up with the dating plan. In the past, she dated free spirited men. Now, they came up with a plan to date men from different professions starting with the letter A – an accountant. These dates didn’t go so well. After finding a note from Robby, she stormed to his apartment. He wasn’t there, but his older brother Jake was. Jake, the one that seems too good for her. Plus, he’s off limits because he’s her ex’s older brother, right?

I love Belinda Mary books. While I do appreciate a spicy romance, sometimes I am in the mood for a closed door one where I feel all the emotional feels without all the steamy feels. That’s what this book did for me. There were so many moments that Jake would say things and my heart would stop as if he was saying them to me. There were a few times that I read what he said over because I wanted to revel in it!

We met Amelia in Ciao Bella, the third installment of the Love Always series. The cast of characters from that series make an appearance in this book: Bella, Amy, and Lily and I was there for it. These characters have a special place in my heart. Another one of my favorite parts of this book was a scene between Amelia and friends where they talk about Amelia’s emotional baggage, and how Amelia should really reframe the way that she looks at her “emotional baggage.”

There was also a strained relationship with her father that crafted the way that Amelia sees herself and relationships. There was a scene in there that helped clear the way for a better relationship, I do wish that there was a little more to this story line. But who knows, maybe that will be in the next book!

Another fantastic book by Belinda Mary and I can’t wait to read the next one!

Tropes:
age gap
Ex's Brother
closed door romance
slow burn
Dual POV
He falls first

Actually Yours is a super cute cozy romance following the story of Amelia and Jake. Amelia use to date Robby, Jake's younger brother. She loves Taylor Swift music, book club, brownies, changes her hair color at a moments notice, and loves Gilmore Girls. Honestly, Amelia is my type of girl. I feel like we'd be besties, lol.

Jake has been in love with Amelia since the moment he met her... until mere minutes later is younger brother swooped in. But now that Robby and Amelia have been broken up for a few months, could they possibly realize their first encounter was meant to be?

Jake is a cinnamon roll MMC. Is he a tad stalkerish? Maybe to someone but not me lol. I like that he went out of his way to just even run into Amelia. He's handome, smart, and so so sweet. Amelia is lucky he's interested in her, in my opinion!

The story is very cute and you're rooting for Jake the whole time. Amelia's friends setting her up on the ABC dating plan was great, it made me chuckle. I did get emotional when Amelia has a moment with her dad, only because I have father issues too-- which made me love her even more.

I definitely recommend checking it out!

Belinda has done it again with another brilliant book, she definitely knows how to write a great love story. I am so glad Amelia got a story as I loved meeting her in Ciao Bella and the with the girls Lilly, Amy and Bella making cameos you have a delightful read. If you adore a forbidden, he falls first, slow burn closed door romance than this one is for you. Honestly Jake and Amelia are so perfect together and definitely deserve their happy ever after. Loved it! I received a complementary copy from the author and BookSirens.

⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 𝟯。𝟱 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘀

I have read all of Belinda's books now, and I truly loved the 'Love, Always' series, 'Love, Lilly' will always hold a special place in my heart!

Going in to this one I was surprised to see all the characters from the previous books the author has released. While it was a welcomed addition, because I love the whole gang, I was expecting to meet a whole bunch of new characters in this series. However, we did get a few new characters who I loved meeting!

Belinda absolutely knows how to write a swoony, closed door, rom-com! I adore her easy to read writing, the dialogue she writes and the "family vibe" that she just seems to get right every single time among the friendship groups she includes in her stories.

This was a super quick read - I think I got through the entire book in just 2 or 3 hours, and while I enjoyed it I do think it could have been fleshed out a bit more to really give the story justice and for me to connect with the characters more.

In this book we have Amelia, and following recent events she finds herself in the dating pool again so a plan is made between the friendship group to commence a dating plan, to get her back out there and hopefully find the man of her dreams. But obviously, we have Jake on the sidelines .. omgggg Jake! He is describes as Clark Kent, but I was absolutely picturing "The Holiday's" version of Jude Law the entire way through reading this and he was an absolute dreamboat!! Belinda also knows how to write a cracking book boyfriend.

The majority of the book is a lot of "telling" rather than "showing". The pace moves quite quickly and we read conversations of these "dates" after they have occured, rather than being with Amelia in present time living through them - if that makes sense? My absolute favourite date, when Jake makes an appearance to "rescue" Amelia was so damn adorable, the banter and flirty tension between these two had me kicking my feet, but it was cut so short over just a page or so and I was honestly lapping it up!

That is the main reason that this one didn't get a higher rating for me, and this pains me so much but I just wanted more from it. I don't think I was with these characters enough to really form a connection with them or believe in the romance between Jake and Amelia, I would have loved more of them "together". Also, the "L" word was thrown around way to quickly for me during those big grand gestures at the end - WHICH WERE ADORABLE BY THE WAY - but I didn't feel it personally.

Overall this was a really cute read and I did enjoy it. But if this book was a bit longer, the characters had been fleshed out a bit more, and we spent more time with the "end-game couple" I think this could have easily been rated a lot higher for me because there was so much of it that I did enjoy. Also, Belinda does a great job at introducing some more serious topics in to the family dynamis of her books, which is always welcomed to give some depth to the characters. She did that well in this book but again, I think there was room for so much more with this too.

“But then, at times like these, when all my friends disappear into the night as couples, entwined and happy, I can’t help stifle the idea that things would be easier, better even, with someone by my side.”

Actually Yours by Belinda May is a sweet, funny, closed-door romance of second chances, healing, and growth. 12 months earlier Jake Johnson was completely taken by a girl in a bar, only to find out she was there for a date with his younger brother, Robby. Amelia Anderson trusts the algorithm and picks Robby over Jake, dating him for 6 months before he suddenly breaks up with her and completely ghosts her. Then one night, after spending hours as the seventh wheel at her best friend’s wedding, she comes home to a note on her door from Robby, bringing her angrily to the door of his brother. Jake has tried his best to forget the girl who picked his little brother over him, but when Amelia furiously bangs on his door at one am, ready to tell off his brother, he begins to think maybe he can have a relationship with Amelia now. But when Amelia reveals to her married friends that she wants what they have, they decide she needs to stop dating losers and come up with a dating plan for her, Jake forced to watch as she dates everyone but him.

Typically with books where one character is so determined to stay away from the other, I usually get annoyed with their reasons because they’re thin. If Amelia’s only reason for not dating Jake had been that he was her ex-boyfriend’s brother, then I wouldn’t have enjoyed this book as much as I did. But Amelia had been hurt, and her reasons for dating the men she did made sense for her. She had a lot to work through, and I was pleasantly surprised at how she did so. Her friends were a little pushy for me, but they meant well and were there when it mattered. I’ve been there, the seventh wheel in a crowd of happy couples. It’s hard, and I related to Amelia a lot in those moments.

Jake was a golden retriever cinnamon roll, a gentle Clark Kent who didn’t push and was there for the girl he had fallen for in five minutes. He had some of his own stuff to deal with regarding his little brother, and I was also pleasantly surprised at how he did so. He paid attention to Amelia, truly paid attention to her, and he saw everything she was. The chemistry between the two main characters felt natural, not forced, and I was rooting for them the entire way, cheering at the end when Love, Actually surprisingly came into play. I’m a little annoyed at myself for not making that connection with the title of the book.

I didn’t read the three books that preceded this one, telling Amelia’s friends’ stories, but I will need to go back and read them. I really enjoyed how the author mixed humor, pop culture, healing, and growth in a lovely story where I was highly invested in the relationship developing on the pages, not wanting to stop reading until they figured it all out.

I received an advanced copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

The cutest romcom ever! my second Arc ever🫶🏼 super grateful!
“She’s just easy to pay attention to.”
This story follows Amelia Anderson who finds herself just a little too single. After her best friend’s wedding, she decides she needs to change that. Her friends gather a plan (or game rather) to help her find her match. It’s a disaster. Everywhere she turns, she finds she’d rather just remain alone.
What she never sees coming is her ex’s brother. The Clark Kent look alike with dazzling green eyes who she could always rely on.
Jake Johnson is the man who’s held a torch for Amelia ever since they met. He’s had to hold back his feelings because of his brother. But now that she’s single, there’s no barrier.. right?
Will they figure out their feelings? I guess you’ll have to see for yourself!

⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
Jake Johnson & Amelia (Millie) Anderson
- ex-boyfriends brother
- Meetcute that gets interrupted
- Dual POV
- He falls first
- Slow burn & a bit insta-love
- All the characters from the pervious books 💕💕 especially Daniel & Bella
- Processing / healing from family trauma & bad habits
- Her friends make her an ABC dating plan 😂
- Age gap
- Caring, expressive, hairdresser FMC
- Introverted, quiet, lawyer MMC
- When he comes in for a hair cut 👀🤭

⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
Jake & Amelia had undeniable chemistry from their very first meeting, but sadly something went very very wrong. Jake is very patient and bides his time while he waits for his chance with Amelia. Meanwhile, Amelia is dating all the wrong men and letting her friends help her make more terrible dating decisions 🙃 I love seeing all the friends together again and I especially adored all the cuteness between Bella & Daniel in this book. But Bella definitely lead her friend astray a few times 🥲

Jake & Amelia have chemistry that jumps off the page. The majority of their relationship is very very slow burn, as they have a lot of feelings/logistics to figure out. But once they come together and confess their feelings, they are both all in on each other. I wish we could have seen more of them together as it took both of them a while to figure out their feelings 😅 but overall a very cute story filled with lots of fun flirting, second hand embarrassment, terrible dates, crazy chemistry, and the best friends MCs could ask for.

This is a closed door romcom with some kissing and 1 mild curse.

DNF @ 16%/ 3 chapters

ehhh I'm not going to rate this one because it isn't bad and I probably could keep reading, but the writing.... or maybe the situation? It just feels off or forced. So, she dated her ex for 6 months and he ghosted her and when he puts a note on her door, she goes to his house immediately to confront him for the ghosting and the sh!tty note. Why didn't she confront him months ago? This whole situation is just to force Amelia and Jake to meet again.
Another thing, the synopsis says the latest wedding she attends makes her want to date again, but AT THE WEDDING she states she isn't the marrying type and yeah having a boyfriend would be convenient, but not worth it. I understand characters and people do in fact change their mind, but she's all flustered over Jake who is "much older" (although age not yet stated).
And Jake not pursuing her because she's his brother's ex but seriously??? They dated 6 months that's like nothing for people past college.

Could everything come together to make sense? Yeah, but it is all feeling too convenient and isn't really pulling me in.

This was a 4.5⭐️for me.

I received this book as an ARC and these are my thoughts:

I enjoyed Actually Yours so much!! I was gripped from beginning to end!

Unlucky in love and relationships, Amelia sees her dating life take a turn. After a series of desastre blind dates and a run-in with her ex’s older brother, she’ll have to decide if she will stick to her usual type of man (emotionally unavailable and disrespectful), or choose to accept that she deserves more and better.

This was fun and sweet and oh so slow burn!

I felt so bad for Jake!! The poor thing was such a green flag and all that pinning made me want to pat him on the back and hug him on several occasions.

Amelia was all over the place but so sweet. I thought it was funny that she kept changing her hair! It was probably the only thing she could control at that point.

I loved her girl gang! They were fun and supportive and a tad bit crazy - what was up with that ABC dating list?

This story had so much drama and unresolved relationship trauma for the FMC, which I was glad she was able to work through to and find her HEA.

This was also a closed door romance and honestly, I didn’t miss the spice. If you like a story with Hallmark vibes, then this will hit the spot.

Over all an entertaining story, with engaging characters and a heartwarming HEA!

Before Actually Yours, I had not read anything by Belinda Mary but I will be reading more of her work now. I absolutely loved this book. This is a dating your ex's brother with a twist. In this book, Jake met Amelia before his younger brother Robby met her and there was immediate chemistry and spark. Unfortunately, Amelia has some baggage which caused her to choose Robby that night. Jake is crushed and has trouble not thinking about his brother's girlfriend. Needless to say, his opportunity comes later and he takes it, but Amelia thinks it would be wrong for her to give in to her attraction to Robby's brother. Eventually, Amelia learns that she is worthy of a man who builds her up and has her back. Then she and Jake have to deal with Robby and his guilt trip.

This was an emotional book that drew me in immediately. If a book doesn't grab me in the first few pages, I usually will move on. That wasn't an option here. This story grabbed me.

The characters are well developed and I grew to care about them. The story flowed well and was well paced. This book was all chemistry but no spice and I loved every moment of it. I highly recommend reading this one. It is a page turner.

I was fortunate enough to receive an ARC of Actually Yours before its release. This in no way impacted my opinion.

I've been a fan of Belinda Mary since her first book, Love, Lilly. So it was a no brainier that I'd be diving into this book. Actually Yours is still a part of the previous series' universe and features Bella's (from Ciao Bella) bestie, hairdresser Amelia. I loved Amelia from the beginning. There's a relatable quality to her character that I connected with instantly. Jake is quality book boyfriend material, with her green eyes and glasses. I loved the ex-boyfriends brother trope more than I expected to, I think because the ex was such an unlikable character.

Jake and Amelia have a chemistry that you can feel on the page. A connection that feels real and has you investing early. As with most sweet romantic novels, there were moments of over sweetness. The grand gesture felt a little too overdone in my opinion. I also found myself growing a little weary of Amelia's repetitive hesitance to work on her issues, despite acknowledging them. But I also connected to her issues personally as well.

Despite these minor issues, Actually Yours was still a delightful read. There was way more that I enjoyed than I didn't. I flew through it and enjoyed it very much. Another winner from Belinda Mary and a highly recommended read from me!

ARC REVIEW

I have read all of Belinda Mary’s books and I love them all. I love that the characters all connect and they each have their own story to be in the spotlight. I’m hoping there are more books to come!

I loved the idea of her dating guys with professions in the alphabet. And I love that she references movies in all of her books. This book was a cute and easy read.

Thank you to Belinda Mary and the publishing team for allowing me to review this book!

Actually Yours by Belinda Mary
Release Date: June 28, 2024
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5

Yall @belindamary.author has done it again with another incredible closed door romance. While I do love a good spicy book, sometimes you just want a quick and sweet romance and this book is exactly that.

The low angst makes this super easy to read and I absolutely flew through it. I do wish that the characters had a bit more depth to add a bit more to their romance but I still really enjoyed their story.

As are all her books this one was super sweet and cute. I absolutely love a forbidden romance and this checked all the right boxes.

And For all the swiftie’s out there, there are a few TS references in this book.

Overall, I can’t wait to continue reading more from this author!

*4.5

THE HAIRCUT SCENE??? i think i need to read more hairdresser romances because the tension in that scene… oh my god. for a closed door romance, there was some goooood tension and moments between the characters 🫠 i loved jake and amelia. it was clear from the start how much jake cared about her, both romantically and not. he sat back and watched her go on dates with other men, and he just waited. i love a man who just waits 🥹 so in love and just waiting for her to come to her senses and go to him 🤭 amelia just needed some time, needed to figure some things out. it was nice to see her do that, with *some* help from her friends (some help was good, some not so much lol), and it was really nice to see all of our previous girlfriends from the love always series!

thank you belinda mary for another ARC! i loved it and i love you! i can’t wait to see what’s next!

tropes:
- ex bf’s older brother
- age gap
- a lil forbidden
- he falls first (and saw her first)
- slow burn
- hairdresser fmc
- Clark Kent lookalike mmc
- closed door

I had high hopes for Actually Yours by Belinda Mary, but it didn’t connect with me like the other books in the series. The story was filled with Taylor Swift and Love, Actually references, and since I’m not a huge fan of either, many of these moments went right over my head.

I really wanted to love this book, but it just didn’t resonate with me. While the plot and characters had potential, the frequent pop culture references detracted from my overall enjoyment. It’s a solid effort, but not my favorite in the series.

Amelia and Jake's relationship is one that I love so much. Amelia has always dated the wrong guys in the hope of saving her heart from the stress of falling apart, so after Robbie broke up with her and ghosted her for six months, Amelia's friends decided it was time to set the wrongs right with their dating plan, which is dating men with actual jobs 😂, but even that turns disastrous.

I kept rolling my eyes at each failed date attempt because Mr. Right has been there all along, waiting patiently for you to choose him. Jake is the opposite of all the men Amelia has dated in the past, so if she is choosing him, she has to be all in.

It turns out that Jake and Amelia have always been for each other 😍😍🥺. I also loved the friendship between the girls❤❤. Even if most of them were married, they always made Amelia feel included, and that is what friendship should be about.

📖𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗼𝗽𝘀𝗶𝘀: Amelia Anderson is tired of being the only single girl in her friend group. Unfortunately, Amelia has never had good luck when it comes to dating but her friends have a plan for that, they’re going to set her up on a bunch of dates so she can find Mr Right. Each date seems more disastrous than before and Amelia finds Jake coming to her rescue every time.

Jake Johnson has been interested in Amelia since the very first day he met her. Unfortunately, Amelia only had eyes for his brother. But now Amelia is single again and back in his life stirring up all those feelings from before. She should be off-limits but he can’t help jumping to her rescue when she needs him.

💭𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: This story is a total delight! I found the writing fun, engaging, and full of heartwarming moments that hit just right. Amelia’s journey is super relatable, and you can’t help but cheer for her! The side characters are awesome, adding lots of color and fun to the story. The romance is sweet and just the right amount of swoon-worthy.

Jake is charming, and kind, and has a way of making Amelia (and readers!) swoon. Their chemistry is electric, and watching their relationship grow is a true highlight.

Belinda’s storytelling is a joy, capturing the magic of love and friendship perfectly. This is a must-read if you want a feel-good book that’s also full of life lessons.

Thank you @belindamary.author for the advanced copy!

Arc review 📒📝

This was one of the best romantic comedy I've read so far. I'm usually not so found of female characters to begin with, but I have to say : I really liked Amelia. She's funny, kind, selfless and I really enjoyed her journey with Jake. The story was well constructed and the pace was perfect, in my opinion. Not too slow, not too fast. I also really liked the secondary characters (except Robby, grrr). They mattered in the story, and I really appreciated that, although I found the friends, as caring as they were, a bit too pushy sometimes. Although if they weren't, Amelia could have never really understood why it was so difficult for her to actually commit and open her heart to the man she truly loved.

One of the best points of this book was the humour. So. Much. Humour. It was really really funny to read. And yet, it didn't affect the seriousness of the story, on the contrary. I related a lot to Amelia's relationship with her dad, and I liked that they actually talked about it. That things were not left unresolved, or just quickly forgotten, because this is what Amelia's behaviour, when it comes to men, is based upon.

"Comedy" and "Love actually references" is what sold me to this story, and boy, I wasn't disapointed. Those references were the cherry on top. I loved how the movie had an impact on the denouement of the story. It was the perfect ending !
There was no spice, and it didn't need any. The story was perfect as it was, just filled with love and cuteness.

In conclusion, this was a really fun and healing read (so many emotions all at once). My only regret was not being able to read it in one sitting (you know, work, life...).

I am definitely going to buy the physical version of the book when it comes out !

If you are looking for a sweet and heartwarming read, Actually Yours is a perfect pick!
From the very first page, I was completely captivated!

This story is a charming blend of friendship, romance and personal healing. It follows the journey of a single woman among her married best friends, with a string of disastrous relationship experiences and a strained relationship with her father.

The protagonist's friends, all married and hilariously dedicated to finding her the perfect match, add a fun and heartwarming dynamic to the story. The romance is a slow-burn, closed-door type that blossoms gently and is sure to make your heart flutter. It kind of gives K-drama romance vibes.

The MMC is a super green flag, true gentleman, with a quiet, steadfast love that makes him utterly swoon-worthy. The MMC's (ex-boyfriend's elder brother) unspoken feelings for her, since their first encounter bloom amidst the aftermath of her breakup with his brother. The FMC's path to happiness takes a poignant turn as she navigates the aftermath of breakup with her boyfriend only to find solace and love with his elder brother. The narrative weaves through the emotions of forgiveness, new-found love, vulnerabilities and acceptance beautifully.

The story excels in portraying the importance of friendship, the possibility of second chances, and magic of true love. Overall, an awesome read!

"Emotional bangs are not the answer." Can I get a hallelujah?!

The blurb for this reeled me right in! 'Boyfriend's brother' is such a great trope.

Upon starting the book, I will admit to being confused. Being dual POV, I felt we were given the ending at the beginning of the book. By knowing that both characters felt for each other from page 1, I wondered where the story could possibly go.

I still feel that perhaps there should of been more of a plot (or that the dual POV should of started mid-book), but I enjoyed it far more than I thought I was going to upon starting. I read it quickly, and found I wanted to see them end up together.

As for the characters, Amelia was quite an annoying FMC. Why would she go all the way to her ex boyfriend's house just to "reject him" after 6 months of their breaking up?
I loved Jake, but even he annoyed me when he said his brother "was the expendable one in my life." How can a brother be expendable?!
The friendship group was the winner for me. Bella, Lilly and brownies for the win!

A nice, safe, happy-ending read.

I have loved all of Belinda’s books, and every time I think that she can’t improve on the MC, I am proven wrong. My new boyfriend is Jake, so move over Amelia. Ha ha. I think he was just so kind and loving towards her. Every girl should dream of her Superman. Too bad they don’t exist at my age. Ha ha.

I felt such a connection to Amelia because her personality is so much like mine. I tend to choose guys that I know I’ll never marry. I don’t want to get hurt. When it gets too serious, I push them away. At the same time, my friends are all married or in a relationship and I’m always the odd girl out. My heart hurt for her. I wanted to scream into the book and tell her to just wake up and take Jake, but if she did that we wouldn’t have this incredible story.

There were some parts of this book that made me laugh out loud. My favorite scene was when he’s walked into that salon. Oh my goodness, I laughed and could just feel the chemistry between the two of them. I would have said the same thing as Andrea. I like the fact that you can have a scene like that that’s very intense, but it’s not dirty. You can read this book and just enjoy the relationship without getting into too much detail.

This is the first book in the new series, but even though it’s a standalone, I would read the other books that deals with the friends in the group. It’s just special that they have this friend group who cares for one another. I want to be a part of that friend group.

I was given an advance copy of this book for free, and I’m leaving my review voluntarily.

To be completely honest, I really struggled to get into this one in the beginning. It took me way longer to get through than usual and my attention just strayed constantly. I did enjoy all the pop culture references and it really picked up in the last quarter of the book. I also loved some of the side characters that I know have their own books so I plan to check some of those out in the future.

Amelia...Such a fun and quirky FMC. I loved reading about her constant hair changes and her career. I also thought Belinda did really well with addressing Millie's complicated relationships with her parents. Parent-child relationships can be tricky and I appreciate how the author conveyed realistic details from multiple POVs.

Jake...I love it when a MMC is absolutely gone for the FMC from the very beginning...and this guy absolutely was. But what was even more touching to me was how patient and understanding he was with Amelia as she worked through so many things in her life. He also has the whole nerdy, but cute, vibe and I was here for it!

Other things I loved:
❤️Amelia's friend group (so fiercely supportive of one another)
❤️Amelia's boss, Andrea (she's so sassy and I loved her)
❤️The ABC dating debacle (so different and fun)
❤️The absurdity of the ABC dates (I laughed out loud multiple times)
❤️Taylor Swift, Gilmore Girls, and Love Actually references (perfection)
❤️All the Aussie things
❤️Jake's grand gesture

This is a charming and fun romantic comedy that explores second chances, self-discovery, and the unpredictable nature of love. The story centers around Amelia Anderson, a woman who finds herself in the awkward position of being the last single person in her circle of friends. Amelia's friends hatch a well-organized, color-coded dating plan to help her get back out there and find Mr. Right. What follows is a series of disastrous dates that are as comical as they are cringe-worthy, leaving Amelia questioning whether she's doomed to remain single forever.

The heart of the story, however, lies in Amelia's connection with Jake Johnson, her ex-boyfriend’s older brother, who has always been her emotional anchor. As Jake steps in to help her navigate the chaos of her dating life, Amelia begins to realize that her feelings for him have never really disappeared, despite the fact that he’s off-limits. Jake is the guy who’s always been there, but as Amelia grapples with her growing attraction to him, a slow-burn romance begins to take shape.

Overall, this is an enjoyable read with a swoon-worthy hero, and plenty of laugh-out-loud moments. It’s a lighthearted yet meaningful exploration of love, friendship, and the importance of believing in your own worth. The supportive cast of friends adds an extra layer of fun, and the color-coded binder for the dating plan itself is a hilarious touch that adds to the book's overall playful tone.
