I’m so confused 🫤 you know when you’ve just come off of a rollercoaster and you’re really not sure if you loved it or hated it? Bit like that.
There was so so very much cringe in this title, it’s definitely not my genre of choice, and I have more questions than answers. Like what’s a lavender latte and where can I try one? but I very rarely finish a novel and immediately want to read the next in the series. Wtf was that cliffhanger?! I need to know where it goes next…..
There are a lot of triggers in the novel but there are also loads of sweet moments loads of positive affirmations.
A very befuddled 3.75🌟

Carrie Hale is the walking billboard for strength, resilience, and perseverance. We meet Carrie at quite literally the lowest point in her life. Not only had she discovered the secret world that her dad was involved in, but then she also lost her husband in the most traumatic way possible. In the aftermath after these two life altering events, she found herself held in a facility against her will - indefinitely. Not accepting that fate, Carrie packs what little belongings she has, and leaves her life and everything she knows behind to create her own destiny.
Grayson, lead bounty hunter for Red Snake Investigations, and retired Marine (because if there’s one thing my dad taught me - once a Marine always a Marine), receives a call from someone in Carrie’s past who hires him to find her and bring her home. Grayson overconfidently believes this will be just like any other contract he’s had in the past - locate her, get in, get out, bring her home, get paid. However, once he finally locates her he quickly realizes that Carrie is unlike any mark he’s previously had.
This book made me feel so many different emotions; fear, anger, sad, happy, rage, joy, and most importantly empowered. Despite the cutesy pink cover, this is a dark romance and does include some pretty heavy topics, so please be sure to read the TW’s before reading. Catch Me When I Fall is book 1 of a duet, and also part of an interconnected world with Brittany’s other books. That being said, this can be read separately from her other books as there is enough background information given throughout, that a reader to new to this world (me 🙋🏼♀️) doesn’t feel lost or that they’re missing part of the story.

Every time I read a new book by Brittany I say it’s my favourite. This one isn’t an exception. It’s definitely right at the top with The Langston Brothers duet.
We have met Carrie before in the Burnout series. She has a tragic backstory and I was rooting for her to finally find her happily ever after. First she’s going to have to fight to get it.
When I first learned that Grayson was her new love interest I was surprised but they are perfect together.
Grayson, former military and current bounty hunter, has never been interested in love but he is completely captivated by Carrie. He knows her history on paper and he soon learns she’s so much more than the facts he’s memorized. There is nothing he won’t do to keep her safe. He completely supports her need for a fresh start. I adore them together. I love a morally grey man who falls head over heels in love. Swoon, swoon, swoon. ♥️
Brittany definitely makes you feel things when she writes spice. Holy hell Carrie and Grayson are hot for each other.🥵
I can’t wait to learn the conclusion to this duet. We have been left with an intense cliffhanger.
Brittany’s world is interconnected and I recommend you read her backlist for the best experience.

Carrie Hale is in a locked up rehabilitation center against her will and without any problems. All the things that have happened in the past led her here. Now she is ready to start her life again.
Joseph Grayson has his own investigation service and is hired as a bounty hunter to find and return Carrie. He tries to find out everything about her, but the more he gets to know her the more he starts to be interested in her. He followed Carrie all the way to Astoria, where she has built a new life for herself. When it’s time to return Carrie, Grayson can’t do it. Has he really fallen for his mark?
I really enjoyed reading this book but at certain times I felt like the book lacked something. I would have loved it if there was more chemistry between the main characters. In my opinion, they fell in love in like a second without really knowing each other. I would have loved it if they were together for more of the story.
I listened to this book as an audiobook and I really liked the production. Both the narrators were great and easy to understand.
Overall I really liked the book and I would definitely recommend it if you are trying to get into dark romance. I can’t wait for the next book and the end of the story.

OH MY GAWD. is literally the only thing I can say. because WHY IS THIS SO GOOD? IT SHOULD HE ILLEGAL TO WRITE SUCH A GOOD AND ADDICTIVE BOOK.
First of all, Grayson and Carrie are my babies now. I love them with all my heart. They're both so precious and they're both literally the whole green forest istg. Grayson's tender yet rough love for Carrie was something I never knew I wanted, but now I NEED IT IN MY LIFE. I NEED A GRAYSON. Carrie is such a sweetie, I love her so so much and she deserves so much more. She deserves Grayson 🤍
Secondly, what is up with all these plots and twists!? I gasped with my jaw dropped so many times like 😭✋ I literally devoured this book and I want, no, need more. They are IT.
Lastly, read this book. I don't care what you say, read this book. I love it so so much. I cried, laughed, got scared lowkey and was shocked so many times. So yes, it's a great book and I think everyone should read it. idcidc

The book was as amazing as ever and I absolutely love the narration. The narration while reading the book as well made everything so much more real, I couldn't stop crying. Thank you Brittany for writing such a masterpiece and thank you to the wonderful narrators for bringing Carrier and Grayson to life.

I want to start off saying this book had me hook the WHOLE time. Not once did I get lost or have to go back cuz I wasn't paying attention. It had suspense, spice, new characters, a fantastic plot, and I can't wait to read the sequel !! There isn't anything I would change even tho it ended on a cliffhanger 😅
You have Carry, who has been through the ringer with her ex-husband and her father abusing her all her life, who just wants to start a new chapter. In walks a morally grey Bounty Hunter to take her back to her old life, and he just can't. She became more than a job for him, and that scares the shit out of him. He does his best to stay away and focus on his company but can't get the curvy widow out of his head. Their story is one to continue following. Can't wait to see where Brittany takes this! 🩷🫶🏻🫣

Grayson will forever have my heart🩷
He had one job. Bring her back to St Louis. But he got one look at her and felt things he hasn't in years. He couldn't do that to her so instead he breaks into her house and waits for her in her room while she finishes showering.🩷
Carrie was just wanting to start over but never imagined that it would be with Grayson.
The mentions of The Hallow Ranch boys took me back & I realized just how much I missed them🖤

This story, that ending my jaw is still on the floor this does end in a cliffhanger and willl have you begging for more. This does deal with heavy topics and is considered a dark romance check your TWs before reading.
Carrie’s story is heartbreaking from the start and all she wants is to start over and have her happy ending, what she doesn’t realize is she does have people that love and care for her. She also has a part of her past that is a threat to her peace.
Grayson is a bounty hunter and former military with a dark past who doesn’t believe love is for him. He takes this job as a favor and wants to just finish the job and move on. But the connection they have with each other is so strong that neither can deny. It is chefs kiss these two the way he is there for her after everything she has been through. He is possessive and protective, I cannot wait for book 2!
As a new reader to the Brittany Ann world I can say that this can be read as a standalone. It is connected in the same world as her other stories but it gives you enough background that you aren’t lost. I still recommend reading the other stories I had started prior and plan on going back into the backlog. If you want to start your Brittany Ann Journey start with Batter Up.

This book is interconnected with another series. Since I had read the other books I think it made the book better. I knew exactly who Grayson was. One to be feared because he gets results. He did take one look at Carrie and knew she was it. Grayson never wanted to be in love. He broke all of his rules for her and just couldn't stay away. Carrie had no chance of not being Grayson's. You could feel it every time they where together.
I usually always go into books blind and never have issues until one is a cliffhanger.... Now I am waiting not so patiently for the next audiobook to come out.
My mouth was on the floor for several minutes after the audiobook was over because I couldn't quiet believe what I just heard.
Don't let the pretty pink cover full you. It is a roller-coaster of emotions.

WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT!!!
Omg I was not prepared to be left on a cliffhanger!! I was not ready. I didn't realize this was that kind of duet!!!
I love Grayson and Carrie so much! I was absolutely giddy over all of their interactions and how he immediately felt a little something something for her. Even before they met!
Carries past makes my heart ache for her! The poor girl has been through so much and I already know it's only the tip of iceberg.
Grayson is EVERYTHING. The man is OBSESSED and I liiiive for that.
The narration as always AMAZING when its done by Alex Kydd. Seriously pulls you into the story incredibly!! Penny Liu is a new voice for me but one ill definitely be looking for in the future!
I can not wait to dive into book 2 asap!!!

I went through an emotional roller coaster during this book. Fair warning...it does end on a cliff hanger, but damn... I promise it's worth it. Carrie's journey gives hope to those who have been put through the ringer, and instead of giving up...they start over. It isn't easy, and there are always growing pains... but when the clouds finally clear, the Sunshine is ALWAYS worth it! And Grayson... Grayson has his demons but is finally ready to let someone dance in his shadows with him!
This book does cover some pretty heavy topics, so definitely check TWs, but it is definitely worth the read!

If there is one thing Brittany Ann does well, it’s create an interwoven world connecting each of her book series, yet each character’s story is deep and meaningful and makes you love the world as a whole that much more. Catch me when I fall is absolutely no different, and although Carrie and Greyson originated in the Burnout series, CMWIF reads as a completely separate storyline. Carrie and Greyson are phenomenal together, and from start to finish, book 1 of this duet had me hooked.
Watching Carrie fight her way to freedom, and work her way into a life she has only dreamed of is amazing, and I loved how even through her struggles, she is such a strong and sassy FMC. Greyson is amazing from the very first meeting, and his sheer obsession with Carrie is a *chefs kiss*. He lets her in, even when he doesn’t want to, and the tension and angst between these two is just too good. Don’t discount the spice of this book, and that mouth on Greyson had me sweating 🥵. The side characters truly take this to the next level, and I found myself loving each character of the bookshop just as much as I loved both Carrie and Greyson! Bring on Book 2! 😍

Damn... one word: Cliffhanger!
Be prepared for a jaw-dropper when you dive into this one! We were beyond excited to finally get the bounty hunter’s story after all those little sneak peeks in Brittany Ann’s previous books. It did not disappoint!
Carrie’s journey towards her happy ending was everything we hoped for, and we loved how her and the bounty hunter's paths collided. Both of us finished this book in less than a day, completely hooked from start to finish!
If you’re into suspenseful romance with characters you can’t get enough of, we highly recommend Catch Me When I Fall—and honestly, any of Brittany Ann’s books!

A year later she decides it’s time for a change, a start of a new life, she ends up in a small seaside town in Oregon.
We meet Grayson in book #3 of the burnout series but I have a feeling he was in the Langston books too but I haven’t read them yet. This book had twists and turns and with the nice pink cover you wouldn’t expect to find what you do!
Brittany has never let us down with the spice and boy is mr Grayson the hottest, dirtiest man on the planet 🔥🔥

I enjoyed this book! This is the first bounty hunter romance that I’ve read, but I love smutty, dark romance so this sounded right up my alley!
I liked the characters and connected with them enough that I’m excited for the second book to find out how it ends! There were some twists that I didn’t see coming. Overall it was a super solid book and I’m excited to read the next one!

Carrie Hale, a true badass who has to fight for her freedom, is such a powerful character. Seeing her confidence grow in herself after battling everything with those she had trusted gets me all emotional. Escaping a reality that she had to face, and still keeping up her optimism and spirits is something that not a lot of people could do, and I am in awe of how well Carrie is able to.
Now Joseph Grayson. The bounty hunter who gets obsessed with his latest mark. He'll do anything to protect her, even if it's not what the others want. And when he goes through hell and leaves her for months, he always find his way back to her, saving her in the process. You can feel how hurt he is when he hears the heartbreaking news, and you can't help but love him that much more.
Brittany does such a good job at not just creating this world of hers, but making all the characters feel real and relatable.
While CMWIF is a stand alone duology, all of Brittany's books are set in the same universe and characters do cross. However, it's not needed to read them prior to CMWIF.

Let’s start with the fact that if Brittany wrote “Fifty shades of Grayson” and it was just pages and pages of him speaking and nothing else, not only would I read it, but I would devour it! I loved this! I loved Grayson individually, he really was one of the hottest MMC’s I’ve read about in a while. The way he treats and speaks to Carrie had me in a chokehold. I also love Carrie, she’s so sweet and unimaginably strong. Her story breaks my heart, but it gives her so much depth as a character. This was also a really quick read for me, as are all of Brittany’s books I’ve read so far. No one does a smutty romance with a really interesting plot like her! Not to mention the fact that I literally cannot wait for book two, because *and I won’t spoil anything* THAT ENDING had me scanning the page frantically for the continuation! PLS! Obsessed is not the right word, I need to be entitled to financial compensation because I am now down bad for a (another, let’s not forget Smoke) fictional man. Send help!!!

Brittany Ann you did it again. The emotional roller coaster I was on with this one! Thank you for the mental health awareness and reminding everyone to love themselves how they are.
I feel in love with Grayson and Carrie before I even got to read the book but getting to read the book made me fall in love with them 100× more. Grayson gives black cat energy to everyone but Carrie. And Carrie Definitely is the sweetest soul ife ever read about it. The way they know from the jump that they're meant to be makes it that much better. However that cliffy man. You're getting me with that one. I can't wait for the next part of Grayson and Carries story🫶🏻

Wow, wow, wow!!!! First of all, I need to talk about the story itself. The horrors that Carrie went through I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. The way she realises that she has been abused her whole life AFTERWARDS is just so, so sad but accurate. So often, we don't know what we're going through until we get through and look back and realise WOW I did that! That happened to me! And I survived this!
She starts a new life in a new place, finds new friends, and is finally, finally happy. And then she meets her bounty hunter, and he makes her heart race and skin crawl in the best possible ways. And Grayson? 🫠🫠🫠 Oh, he falls in love the second his eyes land on her. I loved their connection so much.
The narrators did a bang on job on this book. Penny expressed all the emotions I would expect from Carrie in the right places, and she was so adorable and Alex? Goddamn, the voice on that man 🥵🥵🥵 Apart from the intimate parts though, he was also bang on with Grayson's emotions and frustrations.

The narrators did a bang on job on this book. Penny expressed all the emotions I would expect from Carrie in the right places, and she was so adorable and Alex? Goddamn, the voice on that man 🥵🥵🥵 Apart from the intimate parts though, he was also bang on with Grayson's emotions and frustrations.

I don’t even know how to start writing about how bad this is like I really fucking hated it and this has to be the first time in history that reading the book with my eyes would have been better than listening to the audiobook because the audiobook didn’t do this story any justice.
The narrator especially for the MC, oh my goodness gag. No like literally GAG! It was even worse in the spicy scenes bro like what! No just no😭
I at least like the FMC’s POV.. it wasn’t the most memorable narration but it carried the book enough for me to be a little bit encouraged to listen till the end.
The whole concept of this should have been unique enough to pass off as interesting. Who doesn’t love a good bounty and their target romance you know? However the execution was so poor that I fear I could NEVER subject anyone to this. The dialogue is so freaking cringe and it lacks any type of flow. The pacing of the book was rushed and all over the damn place.
I felt forced into believing the chemistry between the main characters because it was written as instantaneous but lacked the Desired Tension and chemistry to back it up. Hell I felt more love between the sheriff and his wife than I did with the MC’s and they’re THE DAMN MAIN CHARACTERS FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!
This is a duet and I’m not ashamed to say the only thing that can even make me want to read the next book and is also the reason why this gets a 2 stars instead of 1 is the underlying mystery plot. I’m intrigued by that and would love to see how it all wraps up.

Yall know I need all the pink covers, but don't let this sweet cover fool you, this book has darker themes.
I loved that while it's not paranormal at all their reactions to each other were so uncontrollably visceral that they couldn't not be soul mates - at least that's what my sappy heart decided.
In true Brittany Ann Style it ends on a cliffhanger but it's going to be so worth it.
Grayson is everything we want in a book boyfriend.
- he's tall, dark, and gorgeous, even with a giant scar running down the one side of his body
- he's a man who knows what he wants and doesn't let go - after his friends out the obvious
- he unalives for her - to save her
- he apologizes with orgasms
- he loves her just the way she is
