Galaxy Gladiators #9

Beast: Eine Alpha-Helden Enemies to Lovers-Romanze (Galaxy Gladiators Alien-Entführungsroman)

Rate this book
The Beast of Tramachor is one of only ten Pinnacle Gladiators in the galaxy. Having pissed off his owner, he’s being transported to the auction house when newly-abducted Aerie Evans is tossed into his cell in the middle of an epic space battle. Although neither of them is looking for love, what happens when it comes hurtling at them at warp speed?

Beast

Born a slave, I learned early to trust no one, and that includes the little Earther who finds me attractive. Sharing lusty bed-play with the determined rebel is on the menu. Sharing more? Not interested.

Aerie

Since I can’t return to Earth, I have to use my skills to be accepted by the band of escaped gladiators who’ve offered me safe passage. I never dreamed I’d wind up being thrown together with the gorgeous Beast of Tramachor while I watch him perform the galaxy’s sexiest lap dance, accompany him on the most dangerous fight of his life, or be the one to negotiate his freedom with an evil owner bent on keeping us both prisoner.

Will Beast win his dangerous match against six well-armed gladiators? Will he and Aerie survive a ride through the perilous tail of a comet in an escape pod no bigger than a smart car? And will they discover how to complete the journey from enemies to lovers?

If you like handsome alien males with a knack for heroism, and females with the spirit of a warrior, you’ll love Beast, Book Nine in the Galaxy Gladiators Alien Abduction Romance Series.

This standalone book has no cheating, no cliffhangers, and a guaranteed happily ever after.

Oh, did I forget to make a snarky reference to Beauty and the Beast? Let me throw that in here.

Another great installment in this series!

What I didn't like: The Emmanee part and the Tsing part. The latter was too close to outside of the relationship sexual contact. It wasn't cheating, and it was tolerable I just didn't really like those parts.

What I liked: Everything else. Lol. Although it seems odd that more characters are being added before original characters are settled with mates, it does feel more realistic this way. There was at least 2 books by this author in which the main character was with the main group but left and their stories branched off into another setting or group. Those bothered me and made me sad, but they did make the overall story more realistic, and I appreciated that and the fact that each story is different. They aren't just slightly differing shades of the same. I'm gettibg off-topic. This story was very different and very good. I loved both characters, though I didn't always agree with their choices. The new characters, like Crom, are great additions. I hope they all stick around and help this series to last for a long, long time.

4.5 stars!

Good One

I liked the flow of this story and it wasn't full on sack action right away. The main couple didn't have insta lust. In fact it was quite the opposite. Beast and Aerie were an interesting couple. All he knew was fighting and she was an attorney. It was quite an opposites attract story and I loved it.

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ This series!

While this story could be read as a stand-alone, I personally DON’T consider it to be, and recommend it be read in the series’ publication date order. So not only will it increase reader satisfaction, but make the story universe that much more alive. There are also common themes and consecutive timelines. We have new characters introduced with Aerie and Beast, but they are rescued and interact with Captain Zar and all of the others that we know and love from the previous stories.

** There are multiple scenes, themes and references to subjects that will be difficult for sensitive readers. These include abduction, enslavement, forced mating, and trafficking. A high-level list is included below. **

— Although I try to watch it, if you have not read this (or the previous stories in the series), the following may contain spoilers. —

I mention the following for readers such as myself that visualize the story as it is read, because errors interrupt the flow. There are a few grammatical errors surrounding incorrect punctuation and potentially two areas of data inconsistencies / clarification (what year was the females abducted and Beast’s description). I uploaded my notes to goodreads for anyone interested.

In this story, Aerie is abducted and thrown into a cell with another human female, a very large canine with very large teeth, and two other alien males. She fights the guards so hard they shock her not once but twice, rendering her unconscious. When she wakes, the female explains where she is and what happened. Aerie was just starting to get things going her way on Earth. She grew up in multiple foster homes after her mother died, where she was abused. Aerie escaped that by hard work and focus to become a junior entertainment lawyer, but she had started to get noticed. Getting abducted now was just her luck.

Then the ship has some sporadic movement and there is a whining sound. They are either attacking someone, or someone is attacking them! Beast grabs Aerie and places her facing the metal wall, with her back to her front. He is using his body to hold her in place and protect her as much as possible. When the fight is over, they are still not sure what happened, or who won. What if everyone died and they are stuck in the cell and starve to death?!

Then Beast and the other alien make give her and the other female a choice if it is marauders … he can snap her neck quick so that she is not alive for the abuse and violence they are known for … geez, what a generous offer.

⛔️ The SERIES contains references to, or scenes detailing, subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some, including, but not limited to: adult language; derogatory terms; mental health challenges with depression, anxiety, panic attacks, PTSD, etc.; steamy adult intimate scenes with dominance, submission, non-consensual multiple partners, forced mating, etc.; violence throughout typical of the alien abduction genre such as kidnapping / abduction, murder / death, torture, assault, rape, fighting, human (species) trafficking, enslavement, pain/kill collar, mental, physical and sexual abuse of adults and children, prostitution, coercion, etc.

Beast - born a slave he is forced to be an armed combatant who entertains audiences in violent confrontations with other gladiators - all to make his owner very, very wealthy.

Aerie - a grown woman who learned early in life she only had herself to rely upon.

Beast is on his way to being sold. Aerie has been kidnapped from Earth and is being taken to a slave market. There is an epic space battle during which they are liberated from the slaver ship.

Beast’s owner offered him a chance to buy his freedom but gets cheated out of his credits. Once liberated he puts his life on the line in order to earn enough credits to pay his worth to his owner and finally be a free male. Aerie uses her negotiating skills to help achieve this by negotiating arena matches and fees. Two multi-opponent fights are agreed upon. A lap dance is also one of the conditions.

Throughout the book, they both discover their inner strengths. The characters are very believable. The dialogue flows well and feels real. The action is well thought out. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and had trouble putting it down as I wanted to know what happened next.

I recommend this story and the others in the series. Looking forward to the next one.

On how I loved that his one. As a matter of fact it may be my favorite, this far. "He sees who I am, flaws and all, and loves me anyway. As I do him." 💖 and doesn't this just sum up everything?! Isn't this what we are all looking for? Someone to love us , every part the good, the bad and the ugly. And that's what Both Beast a born gladiator slave and Aerie, an abused foster child who used her intelligence to climb her way out of the depths of help and to the top of her lawyer profession. When Aerie is abducted and slated for sale she's thrown into a cell with other slaves waiting for the auction block. There she meets Beast a slave born alien gladiator together they change the course of each other's lives forever. This is a story of self doubt, fierce determination, trust issues and the type of real love that heals those mental wounds many feel they can never recover from. This story felt with some heavy issues, but also and a sense of fun, do to the chemistry and witty banter of the leading characters. I found myself smiling ,and out right laughing as much as I paused to take in the serious issues of child abuse and slavery. I loved the story and I think you will too. Come join the adventure ! Highly recommend 💖💖💖💖💖💖

One of the Best Sci-Fi Romance Series Ever!

I have been reading the books and others by this author ever since I discovered this series as well as others she has written. I loved the story of Beast and Arie; about two escaped slaves who were both survivors of various kinds of betrayal and abuse who find each other. These stories aren't just about good, steamy sex; they are also about two people, one an abducted human female, and the other an alien gladiator who were forced to fight for their lives in various arenas around the Galaxy who find each other and together they make each other whole. There is a lot of action, and not just the between the sheets kind. There is also a lot of graphic violence as well as narrow escapes and close calls. Every single story has been well written and worth reading. I am looking forward to the next story in this series, and I hope that the Galaxy Gladiators keep traveling the universe and each one of them not only keep rescuing others, but all find their Soulmate for a very long time to come.

I received a copy of this book for free in exchange for an honest review. I loved the strength of Aerie and Beast individually and as a couple. Aerie's refusal to crumble and insistence on being helpful and moving forward in this new situation and environment were greatly appreciated. I really appreciated that she was able to use her career on earth as an entertainment lawyer to help the gladiators. Also the fact that she used her louboutin shoes, which she used as a symbol of status and power here on earth, to kill the alien who was trying to take everything from her is epic. The only thing that does not make this a five star book for me is that I feel like there could have been more development of their actual relationship. However that might just be a personal preference of mine. Overall I really liked the book.

Beast

It's been interesting in each book in this series to watch males who have never been afforded any freedoms as gladiators and who have been abused in every way, turn into caring people. There is a definition of civilized society that is when a community of people take care of one of their members with an injury, like a broken leg. (Margaret Mead). It takes time and patience and care to help other people. Even though the males were treated as animals and property in their pasts, this is the kind of civilized people they become.

The human women in this series show the males how this is done. (This dynamic is true across the genre).

And just to make fun of everything I just said, my favorite line, from the MFC,

“I grew up as a civilized person on Earth, glued to my computer screen and cell phone.”

I truly think that Galaxy Gladiators is the best sci/fi-romance series I have read and Beast is an excellent instalment.
Beast - yes that is his name - is a gladiator and slave. Arie is a human lawyer. It is really hard to say to much more without leaving spoilers.
I have said it before but you will really get the most out of the gladiators if you read Zar first. One of the things I love the most about this whole series is that the people you met in the earlier books are regular characters in all of the books.
In truth, I do love this whole series. There isn't a bad one in the lot. but Beast is definitely one of my favourites and you have to love it when the baddie gets his just desserts. Beware a girl with stilts.

Beast and Aerie

Beast and Aerie are on a transport, where some aliens are getting ready to sell them, when they are rescued by some human females and former gladiators.
Although their initial interactions are not the most ideal, Aerie and Beast find themselves thrown together, as Beast fights for his freedom with her help.

This book begins a new arc in the Galaxy Gladiators world. As such, it does stand alone, although I recommend reading the other books in the series first, just to orient yourselves in the universe.
Both Beast and Aerie have troubling pasts, these are not gone into with any depth, meaning few people will have any issues with it.
This is another enjoyable tale in the series, and recommended for those who enjoy sci-fi romance and alien heroes.

Beast

I loved this story! Its much more than physical battles of gladiators. Its a battle of wills, feelings both good and bad. Its great to see two individuals who are broken and kind of lost discover different parts of themselves togethsr. Beast is awesome! Its great watching these gladiator slaves open up and come into their own. Most are born into slavery. Or don't remember much of their life before they were taken or sold.
There was only one thing I thought was odd. One minute Beast is dead set against a female. He's been suckered by them in the past and wants no part of this cute little Earth thing. Then the next chapter he's made a 180° turn. I just thought that was a bit quick. Anyway Beast was a wonderful story. You'll like it I'm sure.

Beast and Aerie are both products of the unfortunate circumstances that life threw at them from birth. One a born slave, the other a cast off brought up in foster homes. Despite their circumstances, they are actually very much alike. I wasn't sure if I was going to like these characters together at first, but the more I read, the happier I was to be proven wrong. I really enjoyed both characters once you get some more background on them and they open up about what happened to each in their past. I was also excited to see how Aerie was able to use her skills to help and move the story along. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to others.

Life hadn't been gentle for either of them. In their own way they both had to fight to survive. While Beast is actually big and strong, Aerie has had to fake it her whole life. Being on the small side, she's had to pretend to be more resilient and braver than she really is in a big world that doesn't play fair. But when it really counted, little Aerie realized she had it in her all along. She's the tough cookie you'll fall in love with. Beast is the gladiator you'll be rooting for. I absolutely loved this book and the two very different characters who discover they are perfect for each other.

Beautiful Beast

Beast has been a slave his whole life. He serves as a gladiator, fighting to the death for his owner. Everything he needs in life is given to him at the whom of his Master.
This book tells the story of a man achieving freedom and learning just what that means.
Aerie had been enslaved and trapped on a ship with Beast. A NY attorney, Aerie finds herself without any skills to pull her weight and support herself.
Nevermind the attraction Beast and she have for each other. Will they act on their feelings, or will Aerie be left alone, as she has been all her short life?

This book is part of the Galaxy Gladiators series. If you have read the other books and loved them, you will love this one as well. I did. There are adult situations in this book so should be read by mature readers only. There may be some triggers in here for those of you who have them. Aerie is a small fighting for everything to get ahead human female who clawed her way through abusive foster homes to become a powerhouse entertainment attorney. Beast was born into slavery and fought his way to being one of the top 10 gladiator fighters known as Pinnacle fighters. This is their story. I loved it and would highly recommend it.

This sci-fi romance has our hero, Beast, as the owner of a beautiful soul albeit with a tough exterior. He meets a beauty and they forge a friendship amid lusty feelings. Their journey of self-discovery and mutual self-growth makes your insides melt in direct juxtaposition to their space adventures which left me tight with suspense! I loved the characters and their exciting journey through the stars. I also enjoyed being reacquainted with the spaceship crew from the previous books in the series. Brava, Ms. Khan!

I've been really enjoying this series and look forward to each new instalment. This one was great. I really liked how absolutely sweet the male lead was and how the female lead was willing to work with him. As always with this author, both characters had personal historic struggles they needed to overcome and it is enthralling to watch how they do it - each time is different.

The story is dual POV, well written and edited and so much fun to read. It's also lovely to see the interaction with previous characters and to watch them changing in the background.

I loved this book. Beast is s big, strong, sexy male who was born into slavery. He has never known freedom or the love of a woman.

Aerie is a human who has been stolen from Earth to be sold into slavery. These two meet when Aerie is thrown into Beasts cell.
This book will grab and hold your interest right from the very first page.

This book has everything romance, humor, life threatening danger and best of all a fantadtic HEA. I highly recommend this book this author and this series to everyone who loves syfy romance. Be sure to pick up a copy you will be very very glad that you did.

I was fortunate to have discovered this series at the release of Zar, the first gladiator book. I loved the characters and have been amazed how unique they are from book to book. Beast is no exception. He is one of the highest ranking gladiators in the galaxy. He is treated like a rockstar when he is rescued by our band of freed slaves. Aerie is the pluckiest female I have read about in any book. You will love her and discover how stilettos got their name. Jump in to this action packed rollercoaster romance. You will love it.

I think this is the one that I have liked the least. Sad, cos I did like the idea of Beast.

What I really didn't like was that scene with Tsing. What was the point of it? Salacious at the very least. Didn't add anything... just took away. The Emmanee thing didn't bother me tho... she was used as much as he was. Even him calling out her name didn't bother me. At that point, Aerie had basically just used him for her own release... she didn't really care about what happened as long as she got an orgasm or two.

This is a tough universe to survive in - gladiators, horrendous alien bad guys, and more abuse triggers than you'd think. But the ability of humans (and aliens) to rise above these rough beginnings or circumstances shines through. I love alien romance series, and each of these heroes is better than the last. JMs. Khan knows her audience, and I am a big fan. I think I've read about 15 of them so far this week. I need a happy ending, and some escapist fantasy, and these books fit the ticket. Boone/Beast and Angel/Aerie are one of my favorite couples though - I love them both.

Beast the newest book in Alana Kahn’s Galaxy Gladiators Series was an amazing read! True to her fashion, she shapes the characters current situation with their tragic back stories and weaves this romantic love story full of action, danger and heart thumping sex!
You will be impressed with the bravery and determination this couple has to overcome in order to win their freedom and secure their love! I couldn’t put this book down and now I can’t wait for the next book in the series!

Loved It.

This series gets better and better with each new book. I have enjoyed them all but Beast just might be my favorite. I adored Aerie and Beast. She was a real survivor and perfect for Beast who was also a survivor of a different type. With all the action and different characters I’m thrilled that this writer does not use sex to hold the story together. It’s more of an added bonus! Great job Alana Khan!

Fast paced and very sweet

I loved Aeries care free spirit and spunkiness . At first you think she is going to be a spoiled little rich girl but it turns out she has a sad story and she hides behind her armor which is her clothes and shoes. Beast finds it hard to trust but finds a kinship in Aerie when he realizes they both suffered from heartache and disappointment. Very cute story.

Good addition to the series

I was so excited to see a new book in the series. I really enjoyed theses books. They really build the camaraderie over all the characters and it’s interesting. Okay now this book is about Beast. He is an exceptional fighter. One day this tiny female Aerie is thrown in his cell. She is nothing to him but yet stirred something in Beast that makes him want to protect Aerie. Is it enough? Will Beast be able to keep Aerie safe? Read On!

Loved it, loved it. A likable lawyer, hot alien male, lots of action. A little frustrated at an action by Beast, "Why!?!?", that put them in danger toward the end. Beast's decision/action did further the plot and was actually understandable, considering Beast's back story...I just wanted the characters out of danger!

And, with the books in the series introducing the next character, I am off to start Ar'tok right now!

Real life (almost)

So, granted you’d have to live In space, and gladiators would have to be a thing, and fighting and slavery and all the decadence and conversion that goes along with that… But take all that stuff away and it’s still just as likely to happen here on earth as it is anywhere else in the galaxy. This is a nice reward for the folks who enjoy the “repressed-youth-leads-to-strong-hero-types” crowd. I loved ur!

Enemies to lovers?

Ok so this book was not enemies to lovers. Maybe starmgers to lovers with like one bump in the road. They liked each other basically the moment they met, then like one not great thing happened and they distanced themselves from each other for like 3 days, before apologizing and starting to date. Anyway, not complaining because it was honestly better this way, just pointing it out
