Kai’s new to bisexuality, new to the area, and new to the scene, but when he stumbles onto wild chemistry with not one man but two…he’s in for the ride of a lifetime.

When Kai signs up for a class at Whipped, he never expected attraction to flare between his scene partners, Ezra, a rough-and-tumble hottie Dom, and Sloan, a gorgeous, charismatic sub. He left his marriage and his hometown to start fresh somewhere new, but it’s only a matter of time before these guys discover how broken he truly is.

Sloan’s been avoiding his past, just chasing the high of one good time after another to mask his pain. He loves his friend family at Whipped, but even they aren’t aware of the shitty ex-boyfriend who wrecked him. As for finding forever with someone? Clearly, that’s not in his deck of cards.

Ezra didn’t believe in a future. Growing up in a shit neighborhood, in the wrong body, and with an abusive asshole of a brother, he’s been in survival mode for as long as he can remember. However, when Ezra meets Sloan and Kai, he finds for the first time he’s able to breathe.

The three of them keep colliding, unable to resist the heat, the attraction, and the magnetic force between them. Yet, the pasts they’re trying to escape might just rob them of a future.

Enter Whipped, a unique cafe that caters to coffee and kink addicts alike...

Percolation Play is the third book in Katherine McIntyre’s Leather and Lattes series. Although it can be read as a standalone, I think the series is best enjoyed in order for a maximum reading experience as well as character background. Here’s what you can expect from Kai, Sloan, and Ezra:

🩷 MMM contemporary kinky romance
🩷 Third person dual point of view
🩷 Guaranteed happily ever after
🩷 Kinky found family
🩷 Good Dom/Bad Dom dynamic
🩷 Hurt/comfort
🩷 Bisexual representation
🩷 Trans main character
🩷 Chronic pain/illness representation

As always, ensure you review the content and trigger warnings to decide if this book is right for you. Note that this list of warnings and triggers may be incomplete. Please take care of yourself while reading.

I think the concept for this series is so unique - it takes place at a fictional San Francisco café called Whipped, a coffee shop that caters to caffeine and kink addicts alike. It’s a safe space for those in the 2SLGBTIQA+ community, and those that want to educate themselves about kink. I really enjoy the cozy kink vibes in this series, with an emphasis on safety and aftercare.

In Percolation Play, we meet Kai and Ezra, and get to know Sloan better. Their chemistry is explosive from the very first chapter when Kai is introduced to his scene partners for an introductory sensory play class - Ezra, a Dom with bad boy vibes and Sloan, a charming sub. I really loved all three characters in this book, and although they couldn’t have appeared to be more opposite at times, they fit perfectly together and enjoyed compatibility both in and out of the bedroom. I thought the spice in this book was done incredibly well, and it helped the main characters develop their relationship. Kai was still new to kink, so he had a chance to explore while Ezra got the chance to hone his skills as a Dom. In turn, Sloan got the safety and security that his ex-boyfriend took away from him, as well as partners that accepted him for who he truly was and liked. Of course, there was a bit of angst as these three navigated their way to happily ever after. I appreciated how Katherine handled Kai’s lupus as well as the threat of Sloan’s ex-boyfriend. I felt this book captured some of the difficulty and uncertainty that can accompany folks that are new to polyamorous relationships as the characters communicated to ensure it was what everyone was interested in, as well as within their boundaries.

Overall, this is a great addition to the series and I’m excited we have more coming our way. Fin has been such a strong side character in the past three books, and I’m looking forward to their unique story in the upcoming Filtration Play.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Kai’s new to his bisexuality; new to the area; and new to the BDSM scene...but when he stumbles into "wild chemistry" with not one man, but two…he’s in for the ride of a lifetime.
Kai is a baby bi switch that is just starting out in the kink scene...and what an adorable sweetheart he is. Kai has a chronic illness that he daily struggles with that may strike very close to home for some readers. You will have to love how Ezra and Sloan accept and support him without making him feel like he's a burden.

Ezra is a trans Dom and an EMT with a heart made of pure gold, but he also has come from a very dark family background. The man is brilliant, and his dominance in their scenes is steamy hot. I liked seeing him begin to show some vulnerability and not come across as such a "candidate for sainthood"...which he was far, far from.

Then we have sweet Sloan. He was a sub, with the worst thing that a BDSM relationship could have...an overbearing, abusive Dom. Kai had escaped and ran from this abusive relationship and was lucky to have found a safe home at the local kink club, "Whipped". You can't help but love him. He's beyond adorable, as well as a little sassy, keeping his Dom to always be one step ahead of him.

Katheryn McIntyre has done an excellent job with the representation of the Trans/ Masc. main character. “Transmasculine” is a term that refers to people who were assigned as being female at birth but identify with masculinity. It’s often abbreviated as “transmasc". This may be something that is new to some readers, even those that read a lot of M/M and BDSM books. I absolutely loved the Kai character and will search for more of his story.

4.5 stars. A great combination of three MCs, all with a fair bit of past trauma, meeting and experimenting with some fairly light kink. The trans and chronic illness representations felt very realistic. As always, this author excels in writing an excellent found family, who in this case had to protect each other from a very evil character. I haven't read the first books in this series, but it works well as a standalone.

When Kai leaves Colliers Creek to start over, he doesn't expect all that comes his way. He thought his Lupus diagnosis would make him unwanted, yet he fell into the kink community as well as his bisexuality, allwoing him to be open to meeting Ezra and Sloan. Two men with not the greatest past but together they form an unbreakable bond. They show each other what it's like to be loved and cherished while exploring their kink. Showing even with Lupus, you can have a healthy and safe kinky sex life. Loved the interactions and understandings these men had for one another. Another great addition to the Leather & Latte series from Kat.

A MMM BDSM romance with an amazing kinkster found family, spicy fun; so many emotions—cute, amusing, banter, sobs 😭, & LOVE; newness, an adorable bond, Hurt/Comfort & a bit of action!
I'm always up for more Poly books ;) I haven't read other books in this series but had no issues & fell for this found family. This was apparently the author's 1st official PolyAm book & they did a great job! Devoured my #ARC in around 8hrs, Loved Kai, Ezra & Sloan 😍.

Kai is recently divorced & newbie Bi & to area. He's innocent, curious, a lil jittery BUT enthusiastic & protective too. A dom? Sub? Switch? 🤫 His struggles with Lupus were portrayed well, my 1st time learning of it!
Ezra is a punk bad boy with a heart of gold. He's a EMT, trans-man & filthy hot, pansexual dom. His brother's the worst 😤, haunting 'em 😭.
Sloan is flirty, charismatic accountant who's a hedonistic sub. His asshole ex made him closed off but his heart still longs for love, belonging. His friends are the best!

Their relationship is gradual & loved to see the dynamics flourish. It was fun seeing multiple dates in a book after so long! Growth into confidence 🥰. They're cute, loved that they all got individual vulnerable moments too 🥺. The sub-plot gave it a hint of danger & action, liked the climax!

“He’d been parched, fucking parched for affection for so long, in his own insular world, and they’d come for him. When no one else on this goddamned earth would, they’d come for him.”

This book is very kinky! I do prefer closed PolyAm but all group play in book was with known friends—my jam 🥵. I would've liked to see more of their day-to-day life tho, like E+K'd were roomies for time & nothing interesting happened? Awww! Sweet epilogue. I read this after my exam & wrote review after the next one lol.

It was so nice to be back with the Whipped crew! The found family at Whipped is so great and the love and respect between everyone is so strong. It felt really nice to get to enjoy another book with this found family.
Ezra, Kai and Sloan felt so perfect for each other. I loved their dynamic and how they gave each other different things. Their connections to each other was differing and it was beautiful to watch the relationships blossom and grow into something bigger and better. I really loved the open and honest communication they had because it was very important to be on the same page regarding their relationship. Kai is new to the scene and he's also experiencing an awakening. He was so open to experimenting everything and it was beautiful to see that. Ezra and Sloan were the best people to experiment with and from who he could learn. Their chemistry was explosive from the first time they met at a beginner sensory play class.
All 3 of them have things they struggle with, but they help each other in their struggles. They help each other open up, overcome traumas and feel better about themselves. The love between them is so potent and I loved reading about their journey.

I would recommend this for anyone wanting to read a kinkier book, with a beautiful awakening, exploration and a beautiful story about 3 men who finally find their life partners. The found family at Whipped is the cherry on top.

At his first class at the kinky club Whipped, Kai’s doubts were gone, he’s bi AF. Why did he ever even wonder about it? He has no answer. Watching his play partners Sloan and Ezra was all he needed.

Sloan feels lucky to be paired with Ezra and Kai. These guys are all he needs as Dom’s
Ezra’s whole demeanor screams Dom, and Kai, new to the whole scene, tries to find his purpose.

You could think: Well that’s it, they fit perfectly, end of story. Ha! Nope! There’s so much more to these three guys. The blurb tells a little bit, and I’m not gonna tell more, but there is so much more!

The kinky scenes are delightful! The respect, kindness, warmth, and hotness, between these three was amazing! They have to overcome hurt to be able to move on, what an amazing process to watch!

There are some content warnings, be kind to yourself!

I absolutely love this author and their books. And the series is no exception. The series can get you interested in the world of kink in a site and interesting environment.
With a character that is very experienced in the world of kink a character that is new to the world of not only kink but also bisexuality and a wonderful representative of a trans character who is experienced also in the world of kink. These three men were fascinating and to find their places wth a relationship, and the love that they found and connection was beautiful. To find people that not only understood you, but to know what you need truly is unique.

Kai, Sloan and Ezra definitely had a ton of chemistry and they were so sweet with each other!

This was an emotional and sweet read, and I loved seeing the connection and chemistry between Ezra, Kai and Sloan! There were a lot of tenderness, vulnerability and hurt / comfort in this one, as all three men were dealing with different kinds of baggage and past hurt. It was so sweet to see how they supported, looked after and took care of one another though, and they were truly great together.

I really enjoyed being back at Whipped and the kinky found family that came with it. The scenes were really hot, and I loved the kink exploration and group play. A fantastic read if you’re looking for a sweet and steamy story with hurt / comfort, kink and amazing chemistry between the characters!

An emotional read, about three troubled men looking for love and acceptance. Kai, newly divorced, and struggling with health problems, Sloane who is looking for a supportive and non abusive relationship and Ezra, the trans man who yearns for acceptance. Together they just fit, and struggle to overcome their insecurities and fears. Kat draws out their emotional journey, successfully demonstrating the growth of their bond. Well written, this book gave me all the feels, it made me laugh and cry, it made me frustrated and angry, but best of all it made me so happy, the ending was just perfect.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Percolation Play is the third in the Leather and Lattes series by the author. It’s stand alone and I don’t think I missed too much from not reading the others. First of all, there are several references to past domestic violence committed against two of the main characters. There is a violent scene towards the end of the book so be forewarned. It deals with the kink scene so there are some fairly graphic scenes which some might not appreciate.
I really enjoyed the book. We have three main characters. The first one we meet is Kai. Kai is a new transplant to San Francisco from a small town in Wyoming. He’s escaping a divorce from his high school sweetheart and a Lupus diagnosis. He had his bi awakening after he walked in on his best friend and his boyfriend. Kai felt that his Lupus diagnosis was holding him back from meeting anyone. He kept thinking who would want someone like him. He finds out that he’s wrong about ending up alone.
Kai attends a kink workshop and there he meets Erza and Sloan. Sloan is described as an all-American blond with blue eyes and a tan. I thought Rocky from Rocky Horror immediately. Ezra is olive skinned, short, and muscular. Kai is described as Greek pretty boy looks with dark brown hair.
Ezra is also a transgendered male and the main dom for both Kai and Sloan but that comes later in the book. This is what really grabbed me. We don’t get nearly enough trans male characters in romance novels, especially ones dealing with BDSM and kink. This book is listed as MMM, not MMT. That impressed the hell out of me.
Ezra and Sloan both had traumatic events in their past that definitely affected and caused some major angst. Ezra’s brother abused him growing up. His parents really weren’t in the picture that much and when they were, they didn’t care.

Sloan ended up dating Erza’s brother for a while. The relationship was all sorts of abusive. In fact, Ezra and Sloan end up on a date and Ezra’s phone buzzes and he says something about his brother Rick. Sloan begins to freak and asks Ezra what his last name is. When he answers, Sloan immediately shuts down and runs out of the bar. He ends up calling a friend from the BDSM club/coffeehouse who picks up him.
We get a happy ending with all three of our guys so obviously, Sloan and Ezra make up. Sloan realizes that Ezra hates his brother more than he does. Kai comes into his own as a “baby-bi” man. They realize how much they need each other and honestly, it sort of comes across as a bit codependent, but who said being codependent is always a bad thing? They truly complement each other.
There are lots and lots of spicy times. In fact, I wish there might have been a little more plot and fewer spicy times. It doesn’t take away from the overall development and it shows how the guys bond and fall in love. We get a subplot with Ezra’s brother and that whole situation gets resolved.

I really enjoyed this, and I think the author did a great job with the subject matter. I loved seeing the gay trans male character. I loved the tenderness that the author brought to them. I highly recommend this IF this is your cup of tea. Some of the triggers might not be for everyone, so be advised before starting this. I hope people enjoy this as much as I did.

This book is a continuation of the series which takes place at Whipped, a cafe with a BDSM dungeon downstairs. Many of the side characters return and are an integral part of the Whipped family, Sloan being one, and this is his book. Sloan is a submissive, he avoids relationships due to an abusive one in his past, and he still lives in fear of his ex returning. Sloan participates in a sensory play class at Whipped one night, and is co-topped by Kai, a Dom newbie to kink, and Ezra, a trans Dom interested in learning more. There is an instant connection between the three that both Kai and Ezra would like to explore further with Sloan, and he is willing. Unfortunately, when Sloan and Ezra meet on their own, Ezra has a connection to Sloan’s ex, and he flees, avoiding Ezra after that. When Sloan meets with Kai, Ezra shows up and the air is cleared enough the three decide to further explore what this connection is between them. The rest of the book follows the developing and deepening relationship between these three broken men, Kai with a debilitating health issue, and both Sloan and Ezra suffering from abusive situations in the past. As their relationship moves forward and they continue to explore their roles in domination and submission, the past is never far away and they must eventually face it to be free to live their lives as they choose.

This is a very explicit and steamy book following the exploration into various aspects of domination and submission, with Kai exploring both his dominant and submissive sides, Sloan a very willing submissive, and Ezra perfectly happy to be the Dom to both of his men. These men find support in their found family through Whipped, and are able to face and accept their pasts and the challenges they have in order to be together and create a family and home of their own. There could be some triggering aspects for some readers, so be sure to check out the content warning at the beginning.

This was an interesting read, holding my attention throughout. It presented new insight into being a trans man and what that entailed, and had my heart rate picking up as the abuser from the past was confronted. I had read the first book in the series, look forward to reading the next one, and would recommend the book to those interested in BDSM and the close knit family to be found in a place like Whipped.

If I could give this more than five stars, I would. Katherine McIntyre has - once again - woven a story that is rich with depth, detail, intensity, and breathtakingly real sense of forged family. Because these characters haven't just stumbled into a found family; they have fought tooth and nail to build the support system they desperately need. And they continue to fight for each other every day, showing up and building their family with blood, sweat, sheer determination, and more than a little kink. Percolation Play is more than just a steamy romance (though trust me, it absolutely delivers on that front). This is an emotional rollercoaster of healing, trust and connection.

Kai, Sloan and Ezra aren't just characters on a page. The chemistry between them is intense, drawing the reader into a beautifully complex relationship filled with vulnerability, desire, and trust. They are each dealing with something that makes it difficult for them to believe they can have the future they want - Kai is still reeling from a divorce and a diagnosis that has changed his life, and Ezra and Sloan both bear the emotional and physical scars of past abuse. The author handles these challenges with incredible care and respect, and is able to craft a future for these men that is both hard-won and beautiful.

The heat levels are off the charts and the kink elements are handled with care, making Whipped feel like more than just a setting. The kink-cafe is a sanctuary where acceptance and pleasure go hand in hand. With dungeon scenes that are as tender as they are scorching, McIntyre proves that they understand not just kink but the deep emotional connections it fosters.

From sizzling scenes to moments of quiet reflection, this book is an unflinching look at what it means to take control and claim happiness when the world has tried to deny you.

4.3*
Great spicy romance between MCs struggling with some heavy issues. Ezra, Sloan, and Kai each have their own traumas, but with care, their jagged pieces fit together into something beautiful. Their struggles are handled with directness, depth, and respect. I’m so impressed with the treatment of chronic pain/illness, trans issues, and serious physical abuse. Writing about just one of these subjects would be a challenge for any author, but Katherine McIntyre successfully layers all three into a complex journey of healing.

As I said earlier, this book is also spicy! There are group and private scenes with a true variety of escapades and implements. Through all of it, these three guys are distinctive, with different turn-ons and -offs. I really like their open communication about desires, limits, curiosities, and especially, weaknesses. Bodies don’t always cooperate with desires, and I love the honesty and acceptance these guys share.

I wish we had more on-page time to see the ebb and flow of their daily life together. The epilogue touches on the ups, downs, and compromises, but I wanted more. I also wish we saw more of the responses and resources for people suffering from domestic/family abuse. Documenting injuries and property damage is crucial for obtaining legal remedies like restraining orders. The paper trail of evidence matters. Two more quibbles with scenes toward the end. In the confrontation scene, I wanted the threats against the antagonist to be more specific and hit harder. That person deserved the sh*t scared out of them, in addition to what they got. 😤 Conversely, Ezra’s ILU confessions felt overly composed and I thought simpler might be better for our man of few words. That said, boy does Ezra deserve the happy ending. 🥺❤️‍🔥

Of the books I’ve read from Katherine McIntyre, this one impresses me the most. Truly heavy subjects are handled with skill, and despite the dark moments, the support of friends and community ultimately brings triumph. Let’s have some of that in the real world please! 🌈💪

This is the third book in the Leather and Lattes series. While it can be enjoyed as a standalone read, you really should read the books in order to fully understand who all the secondary characters are and their stories. The story takes place at Whipped, a San Francisco coffee shop and kink club. This is a safe space for those in the LGBTQIA+ community and a great place to educate people about kink. And there is a lot of steamy kink in this book. I really appreciated how much of an emphasis was put on safety and aftercare. Just because something seems obvious or like common sense, doesn't mean that it is always done. This is the story of Kai, Sloan and Ezra. The three meet at Whipped while attending a workshop. It is a meeting that will change their lives. Kai is a recent transplant from Wyoming. He is starting fresh after a recent divorce and a diagnosis of Lupis. Newly identified as Bisexual, he believes no one will want him due to his medical condition. Sloan has not recovered from his last abusive relationship. He has his new found family at Whipped but follows the mantra of one and done to cover up his pain. He is friendly and outgoing. Truly, a gorgeous, charismatic sub. Finally there is Ezra. Ezra is is also a transgendered male and a Dom. He too has a dangerous and abusive relationship in his past. All three men have things to overcome in order to reach happiness. This is their story. I loved the chemistry between all three men. It was necessary for them to want to overcome their past. There are lots of sexy times in this book but a look of relationship as well. They all supported each other and gave the others what they needed. There is a twist at the end with a bad guy that will surprise you. I never saw it coming. That is all that I will say. Don't want to ruin the surprise. The book is written well and is easy to read. I especially enjoyed how the whole Whipped found family came together to support the trio. I look forward to another book by this author.

A fantastic read
Firstly, let me say I got this book from gay romance reviews and this is me leaving my honest review.
Wow what a read I just could not put this book down it had everything I needed. You have got Kai who is recently divorced from Shelby. His high school sweetheart, left Colliers Creek to start over again. And he is open to being bisexual open to kinks And thinks he may be a Dom. He goes to whipped for a class and this is where he meets Ezra and Sloan. And it quickly confirms that what he has been feeling is his true self but he does learn a different side he thought he wouldn’t like, his submissive side. He also suffers with lupus that leaves him doubting people would want him because every day is different to pain to fatigue.
Ezra is transgender and a Dom. And when he meets Kai and Sloan, it quickly becomes obvious that all three share connection, share passion and share chemistry but would they accept that he is transgender??
Sloan is the most gorgeous guy who is definitely without a shadow of a doubt submissive and he loves connection. He wasn’t meant to be at this session, but he was grateful that he had helped Meg out because he had met Ezra and Kai and they gave him the best evening he could ask for. But when he asks them if they want to continue, Kai does a runner. But Ezra is staying.
So this book is about these three growing together exploring their sexualities accepting each other for who they are. It is a brilliant read. The only issue is that Ezra‘s brother is Sloan‘s ex who is beyond evil but Ezra and Kai promised to keep him safe. This was a brilliant read full of passion full of chemistry And honestly it just left my heart singing. I cannot recommend this book highly super excited for the next book, thank you very much Katherine McIntyre for an outstanding Read

When I saw that this was a MMM poly romance and it included one of the MC’s with a chronic illness, I knew I had to read this book. Mental health books are my absolute favorite since I go through my own battles. Katherine knocked it out of the part with the chronic illness issues, the trans issues and the abuse.

I devoured this book in a day and a half. First off, the spice was stupidly hot and I was all for it every scene that happened.

What I loved was the attraction these men had for each other from the beginning of this book. Sloan, Ezra and Kai were so good with one another from the Dom and sub relationship to the taking care of each other and just the love they have for one another.

What I didn’t see coming was how the guy that Sloan dated was in fact Ezra’s brother… like whoa. But then Sloan realized he was nothing like him at all but just a sweetheart. And I love Kai so much. I resonate with him so much with his chronic pain because it was so real. I loved how he reached out to his best friend to tell him about the two guys he was with. That was so sweet.

When Ezra let loose on his brother, I was thinking “it’s about damn time” because he had hurt Ezra and Sloan more than enough times.

This is definitely one of my favorites by Katherine just because it flows so well from how they meet to the issues they have in life to how they fall in love with one another.

I received a copy of this book and this is my honest review.

This book caught my attention from the very first chapter and held my interest throughout the whole story. The plot was engaging, dynamic, and really intriguing. The relationship development between these three men was absolutely wonderful to read about. The open communication and honesty about what all these men want and need was so beautiful and refreshing. I am enamored with all three of these men, but I love how sassy and confident Sloan is, he's also vulnerable at times too but he's full of bright sunshine.

Kai is new to the kink world and new to embracing his bisexuality but he knew from the moment he met Sloan and Ezra that he couldn't walk away from them, They just had too much chemistry together to try to fight it. I felt as though he was the balance both Sloan and Ezra needed, Sloan is more bubbly, Ezra is more of a bad boy and a bit of a grump, and Kai is just a soothing presence that brings them all together. He might be new to both the kink world and his bisexuality but that doesn't stop him from exploring new things and I love how open he was to everything that came his way.

I liked Ezra's character too, he was so patient and supportive of both of his subs, and did everything he could to leave them feeling good and cared for. I enjoyed seeing all of these men grow together as well as individuals. I found the darker moments of the story to be wonderful additions, it added more depth to not just the characters but the story as well. This is a really great story! (And that's coming from someone who doesn't read too much Dom/Sub /BDSM books) but Kat's writing is just fantastic and they write fabulous characters and has wonderful storytelling abilities. All in all, I really enjoyed this book!

Fun, flirty with kink and a hint of danger

This is my first read in this series, despite being book three. It reads fine as a stand alone. I enjoyed the cozy kink, and it's feels rare that something like strictly sensation play comes up in straight romance. I'm personally demi and vanilla, but this world is great even for someone like me. The male characters are all three given enough depth. We see their traumas as things of the past with the tension of a threat, but we don't have vivid retelling of harm. Its acknowledged though so anyone with domestic violence as am activator should go in eyes open for that. It's a central theme. I love the way this author treats the trans character - acknowledging the dyspepsia even during sex, but not making a bug deal out of being trans really - its not an issue for the other romantic leads or staff at the coffee shop so it's not inappropriately dwelt on - its a factor but not all of who he is. That's been a theme trans friends have mentioned finding frustrating and my noticing more as a result.

Oh, and thank you author for capturing lupus so well in Kai. I have something similar and some things you have him reflect on were things I needed to consider. Different ways of looking at our lives and how illness affects us. Thanks, and disabled folks I didn't see any external ableism - just acceptance h and we all know how hard that is.

If you're looking for cozy kink, a little impact play and c*ckwarming, the spicy scenes will probably work for you. This isn't hard-core but isn't shy either. It is a poly relationship, all male with a disabled lead and a trans lead.

Grab a comfy blanket and your favorite hot beverage for this one!

"Sitting amid these two men and feeling at home in his skin was just…unfathomable." - Ezra

"He’d learned enough of what felt wrong to recognize what felt…right." - Sloan

“We can’t choose our hardships, but we can choose to weather them with others.”- Kai

I really loved how they connected and always tried to be honest, even though it wasn't easy because they also wanted to protect each other. They all deserve to have love even if they didn't always believed that themselves. They helped each other when needed, they learned to be vulnerable around each other, which is also necessary if they wanted to have fun with each other, it's all about trust and honesty. The found family & hurt/comfort is strong in this book and I really loved it! They deserve to feel happy and they shouldn't live in fear because of dangerous people in their lives.

Ezra is trans and has a very hateful brother, it was hard to read what he did and said to Ezra. I'm glad that Ezra pushed to find love, that he didn't let his brother destroy the love that he has found in Sloan and Kai.

Sloan has also been through a lot and I'm glad that he could see Ezra differently and that he took control of his life and gave himself a chance to feel vulnerable around Ezra and Kai.

Kai has Lupus and is also a baby bi, he had to really learn that other people can take care of him and he tried a lot of new things. It was just a lot for him that his life changed when he got Lupus but still he deserves to find love and I'm glad that he also realized that!

I received an ARC copy of this book.

Percolation Play is a wonderfully written book featuring found family, kink, lots of queer rep, and a polyamorous MMM throuple. There is also disability rep as one of the main characters has Lupus. A heads up for content warnings of assault and past traumatic relationships. Percolation Play introduces us to Kai, a baby-bi switch who is new to town and new to kink. He is paired up with Sloan and Ezra at a newbie kink class at Whipped, the spectacular kinky coffee bar. Sloan is a sexy submissive who works at Whipped and also participates in the kink events. Ezra is a dominant punk trans man with a troubled family history, There is conflict in the book but not really between the main characters. They work together to support each other and overcome the conflict together. They also find much support from the Whipped crew. Meanwhile their relationships naturally evolve from hot sex and kink scenes to something deeper. I liked how the throuple was formed from 3 new people meeting for the first time instead of an established couple bringing in a third. That dynamic felt new to me and was a pleasant surprise. Percolation Play is part of the Leather and Lattes series but can be read as a stand-alone. I loved this poly story with diverse kinky characters and look forward to reading more in the Leather and Lattes world.

I was gifted my copy of this book.

Kai is new in town, and being paired with Ezra and Sloan in a class at Whipped, the local kink cafe, sets off a chain reaction, one he never saw coming. Sloan and Ezra are already known to each other, as friends and play partners. Kai throws a bit of a spanner in the works, but these three are drawn to each other again and again. The Ezra and Sloan's past comes crashing back into their lives and all three are fighting to keep the other afloat.

The thing I loved most about this, was that all three were blindsided by the need they all had for each other, and NOT the smex. Oh don't get me wrong, the smexy thimes here are high level, as we are accustomed for the staff at Whipped, but the emotional connection grew from that, and they never saw it coming.

In all honesty, I LOVED the way Ezra and Sloan's past collided! I did not see that coming, and then again when it affects a Whipped member. Absolutely well played there, Ms McIntyre!

I loved that kai doesn't question what he's feeling, he just goes with it, and finally feels at home. He lets himself just be open to everything and Ezra and Sloan are super open about what they want, and they want Kai. Well, they want each other as well as Kai, and that they be a threeway.

The emotions that Sloan and Ezra let loose are painful reading. I cried for them both, when their stories came out. What they both suffered. How they are dealing (or not) with it now, and how they can all move forward.

I could gush all day, but I might end up with spoilers and I really don't wanna, so I'll just say this:

I bloody LOVED this book!

Get ready to get your kink on! Percolation Play is hot AF 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 and filled with lots of kinky play time. But that’s not all…there’s a darkness hovering over two of the MCs and a really bad guy that needs to be dealt with.

Kai is the shy newbie; he’s just begun to explore his bisexuality and his interest in kink. Getting paired up with Sloan and Ezra turns out to be one of the luckiest days he’s ever had.

Sloan and Ezra have more in common than either of them knows and when they find out it might be the end of their budding relationship.

This was a really great story and part of it had me on the edge of my seat knowing that the bad guy would eventually show up. I loved how Kai, Ezra and Sloan fit together so perfectly. They each had secrets at first but once they shared them it only made their bond stronger.

This is book three in the Leather and Lattes series. Characters from earlier books do make an appearance but I think you can read this as a standalone if you want to jump right in. However, you might enjoy the interactions with the secondary characters more if you read the series in order.

An advanced copy of this book was provided to me at my request; my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author.

"Percolation Play," the third book in the Leather and Lattes series, is another heartwarming and steamy addition. Each book stands alone, but if you’ve been following the series, you’ll recognise Sloan—the charming, confident accountant at Whipped. I adored him from the start and couldn’t wait for his story. Beneath his joyful exterior, though, lies the emotional scars of an ex who did a number on him.

Enter Ezra, a trans man struggling with family issues, and Kai, a newly divorced man starting fresh while navigating health challenges. Their connection felt so natural, and I loved watching their relationship evolve. The way they supported and cared for each other was beautiful—this wasn’t just about romance but about healing and finding a safe place to land.

The found family element, a highlight of the series, truly shines. The Whipped crew is amazingly supportive, and I loved how they welcomed Ezra and Kai with open arms.

This was a fantastic instalment, and I’m already hoping Rachel and James get their own stories next. If you love heartfelt poly romances with deep character growth, this one’s a must-read!

This is another great read from Katherine McIntyre. This author has led the way in expanding my reading and interest in characters. This author does not just write to write, they write with purpose and passion. It allows me to better understand various communities within the queer community and provide better allyship. I know that it is not the purpose of this book but this author does things the right way, first by listing this book as MMM, not MMT.

We meet 3 very different men at different junctures in their lives with varying life experiences but one night brings them together. In what may seem like a one-off experience stick with each of them in different ways and when back together as a three, the sparks fly, the clothes come off and while sexy, it is all respectful to allow every member maximum pleasure. It has somewhat intense hurt/comfort vibes and awakenings all around. These men commit to ensuring that three truly mean we and work hard to find their way to each other long term. Kai, Ezra, and Sloan are meant to be and the journey to get there is slow, winding, and worth it!

I am very excited to continue to read this series!

Five stars for Katherine's first polyam story

Returning again to Whipped, it was so easy to become immersed in Kai, Sloan and Ezra's story. They were all such different personalities with different backgrounds and histories, but they connected at their very first meeting and that connection saved all of them. I loved watching them play at Whipped, the way they gelled and how natural the interactions were, despite it being the first time they'd met and it was so obvious they could be something special.
Kai was struggling with his physical health while for both Sloan and Ezra, it was their mental health, but as they grew closer they talked and confided in each other and that was rewarding to see.
The found family vibe is very strong in this series, with familiar faces around throughout the story providing support and backup whenever our three leads needed them. I loved watching them all interact and the banter was so much fun, providing levity that was needed to balance out the serious topics that Katherine dealt with sensitively.
Fin is next and that lovable rascal's story should be worth waiting for. I also can't wait for Nolan's story now I know who he's got his eye on.

Great story about three guys

I really enjoy stories about three people trying to negotiate a relationship together and this was a great one. Kai, Sloan and Ezra encompass a lot of different types of person and Katherine McIntyre does a lovely job of using those differences to create a positive message. She also never makes it feel like she is lecturing that these different ways that people are is okay to be she just lets the story she is telling make that clear. Sorry I have written that last sentence three times and it’s still clunky, but I hope you get what I mean.
The characters are all great, but I particularly liked Ezra and I think a lot of what I like is that they are an older, more settled trans person who while still having some intrusive thoughts has their s-hit together. It means that the story is more balanced between the three main characters rather than focused on the transition. It’s nice to see a character who has come out the other side and is relatively happy with where they are.
The three characters fit together well and I like this tale of how they got together and learned to be happy with each other.

All of the books in this series have been absolute bangers, and although Micah's book was my favourite, I really like all of them. The author said this was her first time writing a poly romance, and I think she did a great job. I think a big part of writing a good poly romance is to make the characters unique and distinct, but with an obvious connection, as well as handle the logistics of who is where and who is doing what during sex. I thought the way all three of them worked together was great. Also I loved how Kai's lupus played into the story, as soon as it was mentioned I was hoping that it wasn't just a novelty, but it sounds like the author did her research (and/or has personal experience) and also included a scene where Kai had a bad pain day and the way it was dealt with was lovely. As well, I also appreciated the extra details (again, clearly did some research or has personal experience) about Ezra being trans; like his brother almost deadnaming him, the fact that he takes testosterone shots, certain things like penetration triggering his dysphoria, etc etc. I love seeing details like that in books with trans characters because it's clear that the character being trans isn't used as just a novel plot point, and is a good representation. Finally, I really really love Sloan, he's such a sweetheart and just wants to be loved on 😭. Looking forward to Fin's book!
