As Abby and Byron find different clues in the house Byron, who used to be in law enforcement, is also turning out not to be who she thought he was. Bee has disappeared and Cleo is worried sick about her. Abby's sister sends her two boxes of materials that she found in the storage unit and so they are going through the first box when they receive notice that the second box has been destroyed when the van that was delivering it caught on fire. The police had been called because of strange footprints in the house upstairs where Abby won't go so while they are there they get the call about the burning van. Byron has taken some of the pictures that they have found and now has let her know exactly what his connections are but sworn her to secrecy and again as each day goes on she is learning more and more that her father was not who he said he was. Now she is neck deep in mystery, intrigue and definitely mob connections and she just wanted to clean out the house and go home to her girls. Nothing is ever as it seems.

Abigail and Bee are searching for clues about her father's' past. There are unexpected events that Abigail has no idea about and wonders how it happened and why she didn't see anything different about her father in her years growing up at the summer house. Byron flees from the house after looking at pictures that Cleo found in all of Abigail's father's papers. Later Bryon returns and explains that there are things he cannot say anything about from when he was working with the police before he retired. Abigail still doesn't feel right about her relationship with Byron, not knowing what he is hiding, She understands that he cannot say anything about what he has found in the pictures. Later after when Abigail and Byron are alone he does tell her that Bee's father is a bad man and that he feels she is in danger. Bee has disappeared and no one knows where she has gone. I cannot wait for the next book, as it's the second last one before the story is finished. I love Sage's stories!.

The plot thickens with each book in the series. I am so amazed at how the author can string all the clues that Abigail, Cleo and the others are finding together to further complicate them finding the truth. Bryon knows more than he is willing to tell just yet. The story is connecting but I am sure there are a lot of twists and turns to be seen. I am anxiously awaiting the next book to help me piece the puzzle together.

Abigail, Cleo, Byron, and Bee continue searching for answers and it looks like some are coming. While some answers are coming, they also bring more questions. Abigail remembers some boxes she had stored of her father's papers and they reveal some alarming information. Was Abigail s father involved in criminal activity or something else. Byron turns out to be more then he seems and is somehow connected to law enforcement. Can the information they uncover lead to what happened to Jacob and was the accident they were involved in really an accident?
This book started where the last one ended. The pace is excellent! This book is one I had to finish before I could stop reading. Ok, I have a few answers but so many more questions. What is really going on with Bee? How does Bryan fit in with Abigail, Bee, being a former policeman, and the history with the other players? This is a fantastic series! I am ready for the next book.

The gun is GONE!!! Byron stormed out the front door after he recognized someone in the pictures that Abigail found in the boxes. She couldn't call Byron! She called Cleo, and Cleo was there instantly. They called the local police and were basically laughed at. Bee came over to see the pictures and recognized more faces (none of them nice people). What was happening? Who was Abigail's Dad? Who was Bee? Get to Book #5 quick!!!!
I absolutely love this book and series! I am totally engrossed in the story of Abigail as she searches her parents' home for clues of the past. Is her memory of her home life faulty and what really has happened in the years since her accident and partial loss of memory. I highly recommend this book and series.

Abigail told Byron about the missing gun and also showed him the pictures they found in the safe. He acted very strange and and took one of the pictures. Cleo came and Abigail decided to call the police. That was a mistake. They just thought they were crazy females making stories. What will happen? Sage Parker may be the death of me. We take two steps closer to solving the mystery and then suddenly find ourselves three steps back. Was Abigail’s father part of the scam or trying to find answers? What is going on between Bee and Byron? Has she disappeared willingly? And the biggie, exactly who did Byron used to work for? So many questions and my fingers are drumming waiting for more answers. I am really enjoying the mystery of this book.
There is so much going on in this book! Abigail is trying to learn about her father's past and keeps finding even more confusing things.
