A collection of poems that are deeply specific and meaningful to me, but that capture emotional experiences everyone can relate to.
I wrote these poems sporadically over a period of years as random lines or titles came to me. Processing their inspirations, spanning decades of my life, has been a tear-filled journey.
At the root of it all, I am grateful. Grateful for this life. Grateful for the opportunity to feel. And grateful to you, for reading these transcriptions of my heart.
As Glennon Doyle said – “being human isn’t about feeling happy, it’s about feeling everything.”

Evocative and Emotionally Raw

This is a beautiful collection that takes the reader through pain and beauty and love and healing with a vulnerability that connects with a reader. Brinkmann articulates those experiences with a refreshing honesty, making for a wonderful read and I look forward to more collections in the future.

I couldn’t put it down. It is such a beautiful, moving collection of poems. Aphantasia gave me full body chills. I have been telling anyone and everyone that they need to read it.
