Ce livre a été écrit en 1882, et m'a semblé assez "rafraichissant", vu son grand âge ! Je pense que cette impression d'une certaine modernité est surtout due au style de l'auteure et à la qualité de la traduction de l'anglais vers le français.
Evidemment, il y a tous les ingrédients de l'époque victorienne, entre autre les sous-entendus moraux, les normes sociétales et surtout la naiveté de l'héroine principale, Miss Christie. D'accord, celle-ci n'a que 18 ans et aucune expérience de la vie, mais elle réussit tout de même à ravir par son audace, son autorité tranquille et sa gentillesse.
Bref, la lecture de ce roman a été une expérience intéressante, malgré certaines longueurs et agacements qui quant à eux sont surtout dûs aux siècles séparant nos époques...

Great story. Well written. Romance, mystery. It is about a young governess who goes to work for a family who live in a secluded house on a marsh.
