I truly appreciate the author’s vulnerability and honesty. Rather than using this book to point all blame on her late husband or “tell all”, she looks inward to evaluate her own life and sinful ways of thinking and acting, while also touching on how those secret sins and his subsequent suicide impacted her. I appreciate how she explained that while her husband had a very public moral failure in the realm of ministry, he was not beyond the realm of grace or irredeemable. She extended Christian love, forgiveness, and compassion toward his story and also her own. I think this book will be very freeing for others, especially those who struggle with the shame of secret sins or addictions. I will be sharing this book with others!
