About the author

Dean Rasmussen grew up in a small Minnesota town and began writing stories at the age of ten, driven by his fascination with the Star Wars hero's journey. He continued writing short stories and attempted a few novels through his early twenties until he stopped to focus on his computer animation ambitions. He studied English at a Minnesota college during that time.

He learned the art of computer animation and went on to work on twenty feature films, a television show, and a AAA video game as a visual effects artist over thirteen years. He currently teaches animation for visual effects in Orlando, Florida.

Inspired by his favorite authors, Stephen King, Ray Bradbury, Richard Matheson, and H.P. Lovecraft, Dean began writing novels and short stories again in 2018 to thrill and delight a new generation of horror fans.

Audiobook: I was as entertained by book six in this series as the previous books. I felt that this story was a great blending of death, as Finn was attending his father's funeral, ghosts, as they abounded in this story, and murder, which hadn't been solved yet. I enjoyed following the twists and turns which unfolded as the story progressed. I liked the characters, Emmie, Sarah, and Finn, and continued to delight in their friendships and interactions. I thought Kasi Hollowell's narration was enjoyable, and her performance was easy to listen to and understand. I was gifted a copy of the audiobook. I volunteered, without financial gain, to post this review, which reflected my honest opinions regarding this story.

Love the amazing narration of Kasi Hollowell, who brings the suspense, action, emotions, drama and the wonderful characters all alive. Perfect.

Our characters find themselves in a personal situation. Finn is attending his father's funeral. He wants to find and talk to his brother's ghost. Emmie and Sarah come across the ghost of Finn's father. Who can not pass. It seems neither ghosts, can pass and cursed gold is involved. More ghost, one also contacted to to Finn. Sarah's gift is growing, The three have to face murder old and new, cursed and old family loyalties. The friendships are strong and are full of growth and strength.
