Born into a life of conflict, Slayer emerges as a formidable warrior destined for leadership within Clan Ravinsher. Leading the Gallowglass, an elite group of mercenaries, he is a born protector, sworn to safeguard his older brother, the rightful heir to the clan. However, fate alters his course when his father and brother are murdered. The responsibility of leading the clan and seeking vengeance now rests squarely on Slayer's shoulders.
Amid this turmoil, Slayer discovers that his brother's widow, Sky, an innocent soul unaware that her father arranged a marriage for her, is in grave danger. Duty bound to ensure her safety, Slayer rescues her from what was intended to be a sanctuary at Dundren Abbey.
Sky’s two sisters shielded her from a world that misunderstood her due to an affliction she had since birth. With her sisters no longer there to shield her, she seeks companionship from the animals who are drawn to her innate kindness, as she begins to discover the impending dangers that await her.
As Slayer strives to protect Sky from unseen threats, he guards a secret that could alter the course of their intertwined destinies. The journey to avenge his family's murders becomes a treacherous path, filled with twists and turns. Sky, thrust into a marriage she never knew existed and now under the watchful eye of a mighty Gallowglass warrior, grapples with her own uncertainties. The realization that someone seeks her demise forces her to remain under Slayer's protection, even as she yearns to return to the familiarity of her home.
Yet, beneath the surface of their intertwined fates, lies a revelation that could shatter their worlds. Slayer's unspoken truth holds the key to understanding their connection, and as the plot thickens, so does the bond between them. When Sky is unexpectedly abducted, Slayer embarks on a relentless pursuit to retrieve her, confronting adversaries and challenges that push his warrior skills to the limit.
Sky, oblivious to her own hidden truths, finds herself at a crossroads when long-buried secrets surface. The choices she makes will shape her destiny, and as the threads of fate weave their intricate pattern, both Slayer and Sky must confront serious decisions. In a world where loyalties are tested, alliances are forged, and the truth has the power to transform lives, Slayer and Sky must face challenges that will ultimately define who they are and what they are willing to sacrifice for love and honor.
Author
There is a story arc that runs through the three books and though each individual love story finishes in each book, the trilogy is best read in order.
The Scarred Highlander, The Fierce Highlander & Highlander the Conqueror.
Much as I had high expectations for this one, I'm sorry to say that Sky's "affliction" that's been built up over the entire trilogy is...lackluster, to say the least. Like, I was seriously underwhelmed by it, as I was honestly hoping for it to be a more serious thing.
Unfortunately though, it wasn't.
I don't know, maybe the author just didn't want to go as far out as she did with Dawn--i.e. giving the heroine a disability that's actually a disability and impacts her life? Sky's "affliction" just seems forced in comparison, and isn't really enough of a reason to build up so much mystique around it.
As for Sky's romance with Slayer, it's...actually the fastest-moving one, which gave me conflicted feelings: on the one hand, I liked that it didn't waste time and go back-and-forth on "will they, won't they"; but, on the other hand, given how tough Slayer was built up to be, I honestly expected more of a slow burn to take place as well.
*shrugs* Meh, I don't know, it is what it is, I guess.
Anyways, take it all in all, I therefore did enjoy the book just fine, but still not as much as Cree & Dawn. Guess nothing will ever top that from this author, eh?

Destiny, Mystery, Friends, Incredible Story: Shocking start from a wife to a widow starts this emotionally intense story that grabbed my heart and had me quickly flipping pages to the most extraordinarily terrifying ending I think I have ever read in a Medieval romance story. Slayer had my heart and attention especially when he whispers to Sky (swoon worthy scene). Sky who is an undeniably fascinating character you can't help but admire. They both take us on whirlwind love story that finishes this amazing series with a huge HEA conclusion. A story filled with many many questions, overcoming superstitious fears, finding a love that cannot be denied, along with discovering many many answers to all of the questions. The battles were scary, the passion deeply intense, the many villains were complicated, and they all reap their just reward doled out by Slayer. Ms. Flectcher has written an amazing mind capturing story to end this amazing series. 💋Cover was perfect for Slayer: 📣Special Mention: All of the animals that brought so many enjoyable and heartwarming moments to the story 👀I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy for my honest thoughts and opinion.
Sky was rescued from Dundren Abbey by the infamous Gallowglass leader, Lord Slayer. But instead of returning to her family at Clan Murdock, Slayer took her to his home at Clan Ravinsher for protection. On their way there, they stopped at a cottage in the middle of the Gallowglass compound. There, he revealed that he and Sky were wed and told her more about the danger she and her sisters faced.
While at the cottage, they started to develop feelings for each other as they learned more about one another. But because of the threat to Sky's life, they agreed that their marriage should be kept a secret until it was deemed safe for her. When they finally reached Clan Ravinsher, the couple began to untangle the mystery while they struggled to keep their marriage a secret.
In the end, the real person who was after the Murdock sisters finally showed himself and was defeated, that Slayer and Sky could finally live peacefully.
Highlander The Conqueror is the third and final book of the Blood and Honor Highland Trilogy. Of the three I've read, this one is my favorite because Slayer and Sky remind me so much of Cree and Dawn, my favorite couple in all of Donna's books. Slayer, like Cree, is well known as the fierce Highland warrior feared by many. While Sky, who is similar to Dawn, is perceived as helpless but has an inner strength that comes out when she protects those she loves. But while their personalities are pretty similar, Donna has a unique way of making her characters shine and bringing out their own share of unique qualities. Every turn of the page is always something you will look forward to. Slayer's protectiveness over Sky and Sky's gentle persuasion was refreshing and can make you all giddy. It was really pleasant to witness with each turn of the page.
I love how Donna weaved the story so that it coincides with the other two books. The third book starts with Sky's rescue from Dundren Abbey, which was mentioned in the first book. She wrote it in a way that you would not get lost in the unfolding events even if you haven't read the first two books. She was able to place important information that doesn't sound out of place in the whole story that reading was really enjoyable.
All in all, it was an amazing read. The ending was wonderful and full of love and hope for the couple and their family. Donna has written another great story, and I can't wait for her to weave another tale.
This is the last book in a great series. I always can't wait for the next book in a series to come out. When you know it's the last one, there's a rush to get to the end and see how it turns out. Then there's also sadness when you do. Because then you're never going to see these people again. Which makes me also want to savor the book and take it slow. I however can't slow down with any of Ms. Fletchers books. Her writing draws you in and you feel like you're right there watching it all happen. Sky and Slayer story is full of LOL, grab a tissue, oh no you don't, and no no oh no moments. They will keep riveted to this book. Gentel Sky takes on the mighty and feared Gallowglass Warrior Slayer. Slayer gives Sky the confidence to look people in the eye. Sky shows Slayer that he's not the horrible person he thinks he is. Together they find their way to love. This story is full of twist and turns that in the end you say wow didn't see that coming. It was nice that you also get a chance to see Noble and Leora for a bit again and hear that Cavell and Elsie are well with a growing family.
Highlander the Conqueror by Donna Fletcher Blood and Honor Highland Trilogy Book Three Lord Slayer is a feared leader of the Gallowglass. He has revenge on his mind, as his brother and then his father were both murdered. Slayer also has to rescue Sky and protect her. He never expected her to be so beautiful and unique. But as a warrior, Slayer won’t let that get to him. Or so he thinks. Sky was finally rescued from her small cell at the abbey, but not by her sisters, as she thought. No, it was a fierce warrior known by all, but it had to be better than imprisonment. People feared her, so she wanted to return to the forest. To the animals that loved her and enjoyed her company. That wasn’t to be, though. Love all these trilogy’s, with enjoyable characters…human and animal, and intriguing storylines. I’m always a bit sad to see them end. **Sexual content https://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com...
Loved It! Highlander the Conqueror is full of gripping, action packed, intrigue and mystery. Third and final book in the series Blood and Honor Highland Trilogy keeps one on the edge of your seat with suspenseful as Slayer tries to protect Sky from mercenaries sent to kill her. They must find out who's behind these attacks before it's to late. Donna Fletcher has written a heart stopping story that is brimming with tension building twist and turns, filled with some extremely interesting characters that will weave a story that will hold you spellbound and will pull you into their tale, full of drama, flowed well from one subject to another without being forced, sizzling passion, with a plot that will keep you guessing, and as the the suspense builds and intrigue escalate with secrets abound will keep you turning the pages until the very end.
Highlander the Conqueror is a romantic love story set in the Highlands with wonderful characters, a nail biting plot of twists and turns, and a great tied together quite nicely ending to this series. Sky having a connection to animals added an unusual twist for our heroine’s story line and it worked very well. Our hero is the bravest of the brave, letting no one harm his wife or his clan. I do love alpha highland heroes! There also are so many secondary characters who round out the story who the reader will find it hard to pick a favorite. They add humor, strength and support for Sky and Slayer. There isn’t a Donna Fletcher book I don’t love and have read them all, sometimes more than once. I highly recommend this book/series and this author.
An end to a Great series about the Murdoch sisters and the Gallowglass warriors. Sky was born with two different colored eyes which kept people at a distance. They feared she was a witch or in league with the devil. Sky had a way with animals that added to fear others had of her. When she is rescued from the abbey by Slayer, the head of the Gallowglass warriors, her life changes dramatically, and so does his. Slayer is seeking revenge for the deaths of his father and brother while at the same time protecting Sky, his wife. So many secrets in this book. I was hooked from the beginning. Kept me guessing all the way to the end.
Slayer the Fierce and Fearless Gallowglass Warrior, rescues Sky from prison like conditions at the abbey. Sky who many believe has an affliction that only her sisters tolerate is truly a kind and caring person, however she does not see her true worth and determination that Slayer sees. Slayer is bound to protect Sky who was his Slain brother wife. Slayer must also uncover who has killed his father and brother, for who dares go up against the mighty Gallowglass Warriors for that is certain death!!!!! Donna weaves a tale of hope, worries, enemies seen and unforseen, plot twist and turns and always Love. This is a real page turner and was truly worth the wait!!!!!!
Have waited it seems for the author to complete this book, the of series does not disappoint in the writing. Many questions were answered and it seemed at different that the mystery was to be read led in the next pages only to have another twist. Love Donna’s writing, hope perhaps there’s another book out there that has more stores about the Murdock sisters and gallowglass
All I can say is WOW! What a final book of this trilogy. Well written, action packed, intense, suspenseful yet has a calming feeling mixed in. You'll learn all the answers about Sky and yes Slayer, too. The why's and wherefore's are laid out in such a manner that your breath is held throughout. Putting this book down was not an option. I had to know what happened next.
I loved the whole series of Blood & Honor Highland Trilogy being another of my favorites. Slayer with his hard attitue and having no feelings and Sky who has a sweet and loving nature, come together for a great love story. Plus the extra of mystery and adventure. Donna Fletcher always come through with amazing storylines.
I read all 3 books in this series and each story was about what happens to the three sisters that found out their parents were not their biological parents. And then separately the sisters found out their father had arranged a marriage for each one of them for protection.
I received an arc of this book. These are my opinions. I loved this book and the main characters. He was my favorite hero from this series. Plenty of steam, some action ad mystery. Donna Fletcher always writes stories that hit the right spot. Thanks for the great story!
I could not put any of your books down in this series. There was no option but yo continue. As always your talent came through. Each book flowed into the next. I look forward to lots more! 😍
Best series ever. Donna Fletcher you out did your self, The adventures, the animals, are my ultimate favorite and the OTT protect and possive alpha lover.Slayer was totally awesome.
I really loved this series! I loved each story. I especially loved Slayer and Sky's story! I liked how in each story, they fell in love earlier in the book.
A great finish to the Blood & Honor Highland trilogy. I was seriously looking forward to this one after having enjoyed the previous two books so much, and it was in no way a disappointment. Sky is a total sweetheart with a serious and somewhat paranormal affinity with animals, being able to tame even the wildest of beasts, including Slayer, the feared Gallowglass leader. There was a lot to like about this book. There's some mystery and suspense, some touching moments and some sexy ones. There's also plenty of action and a bit of humor, as well as that dash of the paranormal. And all of it is set in the rugged historical Scottish highlands. Really, what's not to love about all that. It's a book that I'll no doubt read again, and again.
