A Witch in Time is an exciting time-travel and shapeshifter paranormal romance novel with a happy ever after and lots of fun! This is the sixth book in the Wishes & Dreams paranormal romance series, featuring Djinn and Shapeshifters... and now a time traveler! While each book can be read as a stand-alone, it's recommended to read them in order for continuity. Plunge into the magic and enchantment of a world where supernatural beings hide amongst us in plain sight.
Oh my, I stayed up far too late to finish this marvelous book. I loved and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is like a guide to the USA in the 21st century told in a lovely and wonderful love story, and it’s so magically written that you believe this all could happen, just in your neighbourhood. Going back to a time of the witch trials, Rebecca is the last of her family. She has many things that make her an outcast, like, the most successful fields, best animals that make people suspicious of her. She is also Catholic which has made her a total outcast. Then it happens, her biggest nightmare. She sees the towns people marching towards her house. She has to run now or be tried as a witch. Her harrowing journey is a page turner! My heart was racing. All I will reveal is it is Remi to the rescue and the whole shifter family welcomes her. There is laughter and wonder as Rebecca acclimates to a life 200 years in the future. Not so fast! An evil Djinn threatens her life now to demand she go back. Will she be able to thwart the Djinn? Will she have to go back and marry his evil son only to eventually be tried as a witch? Ms. McCormack has a way of bringing everything to life in a way I literally clapped, cheered, cried and yes...yelled at the Evil Djinn. Action and suspence from page one.
In book six of the Magic of Wishes & Dreams series, Rebecca has been accused of witchcraft, so she uses a magic talisman to transport herself from 1692 Salem to the present day. There she meets an assortment of human and supernatural creatures who help her adjust to living in a new time. Wolf shifter Jake knows Rebecca is his mate, but she’s so lost and vulnerable. As they get to know each other, a danger from her not-so-distant past returns to wreck havoc on their lives. Becca and Jake were wonderful characters. I loved how she grew accustomed to living in the 21st century so well, and that Jake was so familiar with Colonial America that he was able to help her adapt. Jacinth, Alessandra, Katerina, and other characters from the earlier books returned, and it was great seeing them again. As with the other books, however, there are some editing issues and more telling than showing. That stated, I still liked this book a lot. A Witch in Time is a fun, emotionally charged sweet romance with great characters and detailed plot. I’m happy I read it. 4 Stars
Totally loved Becca and Jake’s story ! This is my first book from author Allie McCormack but it will not be my last ! It has everything I want in a paranormal romance novel; magic , angst, fear, betrayal and love . Becca is brought forward 330 years from the Salem Witch trials, not knowing she truly had powers. The Djinn she called upon brings her to a wonderful, magical community that rallies around her and teachers her what life is like in the 21st century and there are laughs a plenty when she starts learning things from the Google ! I can’t say enough good things about the characters and storyline. If you like your paranormal romance with a bit of heat ( she’s a product of being raised around Puritans remember), lots of laughter and spikes of danger, this book’s for you ! 5✨’s
Becca comes from a long line of witches and being the last remaining of her family it’s both daunting and haunting… when all is turned against her and in fear of her life she turns to a family heirloom to help….Here she makes a fantastical discovery and a very big help in her recovery and escape to the future 300 years and it appears this young djinn has friends in high places….Jake Malloy a charming wolf shifter is smitten as a kitten…well pup but you know what I mean. There’s evil that’s followed her and as she navigates her new surroundings there’s also new dangers to go with it…. With her wolf by her side and friends in abundance this time travelling witch is saved from going under…great writing style and uber immersive storytelling.
After a brief introduction to Rebecca in Salem Village in the time of the Puritans and witch trials, we are taken to contemporary times for the rest of the book. Becca meets Jake and the story plot for them is a pretty straight run to falling in love. The more interesting interwoven story is learning about our modern world through the eyes of someone who just kept 330 years into the future. The common becomes as magical as the magical friends that surround Becca. The character development is great. The magical world view is extensive and nicely intertwined with the modern world.
I enjoyed the book and had trouble putting it away each night.
I really enjoyed this book. Now I will have to find the others and start the series from the 1st book. I started it yesterday and read until 330 this morning. Just now finished it. The story grips you as soon as you start reading. The horror those folks went through at that time, is so far out there, Thank God we have real science now and do not follow these old nonsense beliefs any more!! I enjoyed the way Rebecca found out about her powers, even though they seem very little in the book. I look forward to reading more in this series!
A Witch in Time is book 6 in the Magic of Wishes & Dreams series by Allie McCormack and is a fascinating witchy time travel story and a wonderful addition to the series.
I received an ARC from StoryOrigin and am leaving my review freely.
I like the characters, the story telling was good, the writing well crafted. The oh so easy acceptance of the modern day by our time travelled Witch was slightly unbelievable. (Because, of course, shifters and djinn and witches etc are all very believable!)
A must read book that is sure to give you lots of laughs
I have had the pleasure of reading the entire series and the when darkness falls trilogy, (if you haven't already read them I would suggest that you do, so worth it) and these characters have become so dear to me.
The characters are so relatable as well as the incredible descriptions of the different time frames that Becca left and came to.
This book in particular drew attention not just to the main characters but also more to the supporting characters bringing out their strengths and quirkiness to make one amazing book.
I loved it! I had fun reading them. I am a little short on time. I just couldn't put it down! I am going to go back reread them again to see if I missed anything. I love paranormal based things! Theses books are right up my alley. I will go back to the first one & reread them all. I just loved them, how they intertwine with each other. The different ones pulling together to help each other. I really hope there will be more. I'm glad they caught my eye when I was looking to see if a book I was looking for was available yet. I might have missed them if not for that & I would have missed a great set.
