Orc Mates Of Faeda #2

The Orc Outcast's Mate

Rate this book
They all say he's dangerous, but she can't stay away. Miranda is desperate to protect her family, and that includes Govek.

Rove Wood Clan holds nothing but contempt for Govek. The picture they paint is in such stark contrast to the sweet and caring orc she knows that Miranda can hardly believe they are the same person.

But defending Govek against his brethren’s hostility isn’t her only fight. Miranda also seeks out the orc seer, a male with immeasurable magic power, to tell her the truth of what happened to her family on Earth.

She will seek the truth at all costs. But will that cost be the orc she’s grown to adore?

Govek is desperate to keep Miranda, no matter the cost.

Miranda’s light and warmth has lit up Govek’s entire world and now it all threatens to come crumbling down.

Between his brethren’s constant attempts to separate Miranda from him, and the orc Warlords untimely visit, Govek finds himself torn between staying silent, and telling his new woman the truth of his past.

And now she’s determined to speak with the seer, a male whose magic is as profound as it is dangerous. Govek knows that the consequences of allowing her to proceed will be severe.

But so too would the consequences of trying to stop her.

Book 2 of 3 in Miranda and Govek's story. No breakup, but it does end on a cliffhanger.

I received an ARC for this book and I am leaving a voluntary review.

**

We begin the story where the first book ended and Miranda and Govek find their way into his clan at Rove Wood. This book really focuses on introducing us to the orc way of life and how Govek has lived on the outskirts of it for most of his life. My heart broke for him multiple times during this book and the emotions ripped out of me had me gasping for breath.

The dual POV works really well and we get to understand where both our main characters come from and how insecure they still are in this new relationship. The communication Miranda insists they have while navigating the clan life is really well done and while they both have fumbles, I really like how open it is.

I’m definitely curious of a few side characters and I cannot wait to see what happens to them, both in good and bad because I’m sure some of these side characters are doing more bad things that is spoken out loud. I am here for that reveal and the reckoning.

Like the first book, this one ends in a cliffhanger too and now it seems the stakes are even higher. I can’t wait for August!

Book 2 starts right where we left Miranda and Govek at the end of book 1. After finding their way back to Rove Wood Clan, things get challenging for Miranda and Govek. Both of them are still insecure in their relationship, both think that the other one deserves someone better, someone who doesn't wake up screaming every night or has problems to control themselves. Working on their relationship and on themselves proves difficult when there are so many outside factors, trying to rip them apart.
Book 2 ends on a cliffhanger again, leaving me gasping and waiting anxiously for the final book in the series.

Somehow I liked this book better than the first one!!! I think it’s because there wasn’t any build-up and we picked right up where we left off.

I loved this, could not get enough. Govek and Miranda balance each other out perfectly. I love the way they comfort and tease each other and the spicy scenes were really good!

The plot is super interesting and I am fully invested, I’m mad at pretty much the whole clan except for Viravia. I hate that Govek has been manipulated his whole life for some reason we don’t know about yet. Whatever the reason is, I’m sure it’s stupid.

Also I’m so impressed with Miranda for not full on brawling with Maythra. If it were me, that b*tch would be regretting her decisions 😂

Anyway 5/5, I highly recommend this series! I’m sure the last one will be great as well

This book has very big “second book” energy. A lot of set up for the last book which will hopefully resolve all the problems created. It went into a lot of the characters’ past traumas but the plot didn’t move forward that much. I really enjoyed getting more of Govek’s story, but found Miranda’s to be repetitive.

First the heck off. That cliffhanger? Holy cow. I literally don’t know how I’ll stand waiting for the next book!!

I started the book on such a high, a bit anxious about what was going to happen but beyond ready to dive back in and see how things worked out. I feel like my emotions have just been all over the place from the very first chapter. I knew they would eventually end up back in his home but I didn’t know how visceral my feelings would be. The anger I felt, the hope and the crushed expectations.

Govek deserves so much better than he gets. And good on Miranda for fighting for him! I genuinely was scared that she would roll over and try and stay out of things. Human among orcs, maybe she would feel like it wasn’t her place. But time and time again she’s there for him, and in the process helping him see he’s WORTH fighting for. I’ve wanted to just be able to reach out and smack a couple people for them. I wonder how character development will go?

But I adore Govek and Miranda. Govek is just such a sweet baby angel. He just wants to keep the peace and not cause the clan problems. Miranda is so focused on figuring out what happened to her, her having her flashbacks is so… real. I will admit it made me feel anxious a few times.

The time they spend alone is so cute and so sweet it makes my heart soar! I love how the imprinting is working out and how he explains it to her. I think they are so well suited for each other. Miranda bringing out the nurturer in Govek and nurturing him back is my favorite thing about this series. They both deserve that and more.

Not to mention the spice! Man they’ve had some extremely hot scenes together. I love a species learning curve so freaking much. I don’t wanna spoil so that’s all I will say but WOOF! It gets hot.

I can’t wait to see what happens next and I hope that my million questions get answered. I have theories, but I think I’ll be proven wrong. Such fantastic writing!

~ STORY 📝 ~

MAN THAT STORY MAKE ME CLENCH MY TEETH! 🤬

I need justice for Govek in book 3 I swear, and I hope it'll be VIOLENT! No mercy for the bigoted in this house.
And that cliffhanger??? I need to know what happens next! 😩😰

Overall, this book will hurt you then soothe you bc they're so f-ing cute together and the level of communication between them is chef kiss, I love it. They're both suffering for different reasons but they truly help each other finally getting the healing and appreciation they deserve.

I rarely hate so many people in a book but here apart from the MC, the cousin, and maybe the sister-in-law, everybody can get fucked in my book and I really hope they will 🤣 I don't want healing, I want VENGEANCE 😂🔥

~ SPICE 🌶️ ~

The spice is definitely there tho nothing too kinky. They're obsessed with each other and are discovering their sexuality together (and Govek's learning a lot 😉).

Of course, orc romance means feral lover, size difference, and an FMC being manhandled often in the best way ❤️‍🔥

The stress I felt reading this book! And it ends on a cliffhanger!!! This book picks up right where the last ended, as Miranda and Govek make their way to his clan in the Rove Woods. Some of the many, many questions are answered over the course of the story - particularly the traumas that have made Govek the orc he is, which come to light as he is forced to interact with the orcs and humans who mistreated him in the past. Straight up nothing is tied up neatly with a bow, though, and I was the whole story chomping at the bit waiting for the little bits we got. Aurora Winters did a great job drawing this all out, and now I'm desperate to be at that point where you can look back and understand everything that happened.

I was a bit annoyed with our FMC Miranda for parts of this book. I understand that she is very caught up in her own trauma, but her single minded focus and complete inability to at times read the room was very frustrating. She would focus in on her own needs when she knew she was in precarious situations for Govek. Our MMC Govek, on the other hand, was continually prioritising her wants at times when he should really have been looking out for himself. He spent the book in capitulating to everyone around him, including her. I really hope that part of his growing a backbone in book 3 will include realising that he doesn't have to support everything Miranda wants for fear of being left alone.

I honestly have no idea how this series is going to end. Which is delightful, I've really enjoyed this series so far. I just want all the answers!

I read an advance copy of this book. My thoughts are very much my own.

Beautiful, emotional story.

🔸️ I love the main couple and how they offer each other support despite all circumstances. ❤️❤️❤️ The MCs have unique emotional connection, great bartner and palpable chemistry.

🔸️The Govec's struggle is heart breaking. His insecurity, self-loathe, fuelled by the clan's prejudices and cruelty is almost unbearable. 💔 The acceptance and understanding offered by Miranda is amazing and outstanding.
On the other hand, the way how Govec's cares for her, tends to her needs, tries to ease her pain is simply breathtaking.

🔸️ The story has interesting world building.
Comparing to part 1, it's slower paced and has less action. The power/political intrigue is heavier. The main emphasis in this story is the emotional drama and I liked it.

🔸️The spice is juicy with bit of kink.
Miranda is a great dirty talker 😏 and loves to make Govec loose his mind with her words. 🔥
I have found it refreshing (as usually in most stories it is the MMC who is a dirty talker).

🔸️Very well written, positively executed, smooth to read.

🔸️Highly recommended for those who are looking for original, emotional monster romance.

This book is the second in the trilogy, and it is an emotional rollercoaster!!!
One minute, I was absolutely heartbroken for Govek, and the next, I was in a complete rage over his clans' behaviour towards the MCs.
I can honestly say that I hate them and want karma to serve them some justice in the next book (that's about as polite as I can put it).

This book gives us a lot more of Govek's backstory along with more character and world development.
There's still fantastic chemistry, banter, and spice between our MCs but with more feels!
We also get to meet a lot of new characters in this book. The warlord and the seer are my favourites, they both had me cracking up and I'm secretly hoping we get more of them in the next book, or a spin off series featuring them in the future!

The book ends on a killer cliffhanger, and there are still so many unanswered questions and curious character behaviours. Im absolutely dying to get my hands on the final book! I need answers!

“You’re so sexy, Govek. I want to watch you lose your mind.”

Miranda and Govek's story continues right where book one ended. I liked seeing more of the orc clan and their ways. But heartbroken at how Govek was treated, what had happened with his ex and how it effected his self esteem.

“Don’t leave, please.”
“I’m sorry. That isn’t what I meant. I just thought that maybe you weren’t ready. That you might want to stop for now. I’m not leaving.” She vowed again, lips grazing his. His heart pounded so loud in his ears he almost couldn’t hear her. “I’m staying right here. With you.”

He and Miranda were so cute together at times, and their chemistry was scorching. I liked when Miranda took control to please him and he was so unsure but tender with her. I loved how she reassured him, and how they supported each other. The strength of their bond. This story ends on a cliffhanger and I can't wait to start the next. 5 stars.

Book two of Miranda and Govek's story had me just as obsessed as the last part! We dive deeper into Govek's story, we see just how much apprehension Govek's clan holds for him. Both Govek and Miranda are forced to face some things they don't want to, make decisions they don't want to and while they are hard decisions I am enjoying it! I'm enjoying the drama, although I genuinely hate that no one will let either of them get a handful of words out without cutting them off or practically forcing them to do things. Its understandable with the context of the story but its not any less annoying. I hope the third and final book concludes the questions weve had since book one, and while im excited to see where they go as a couple, I am not too ready to read Miranda having to face the facts she's been desperately avoiding.

In the magical world of Faeda, Miranda (h), the last human survivor of Earth's apocalypse, struggles to find her lost children. Haunted by her past and desperate for answers, She shares a deep connection with Govek (H), an orc outcast shunned by his clan for his violent magic and dark history. Together, they navigate a landscape of danger, political intrigue, and deep-seated prejudices. As Miranda and Govek grow closer, they confront not only the hostility of the Rove Wood Clan but also the shadows of their own pasts. Miranda's quest for her children leads her to a mysterious seer who demands she face her deepest fears before offering any help. Govek battles the expectations of his manipulative father and the clan's relentless judgment, even as Miranda continues to offer him unwavering support, trust, and comfort. Just as Miranda begins to confront her past, the cliffhanger strikes...

Fab continuation of Miranda and Govek's story, taking off right where book one ended. Definitely read book one first ;) These two are still insecure in their relationship and now Miranda is getting a real intro to orc life. I have to say the emotions in this story really took me for a ride. They're both suffering, for different reasons, but they truly help each other get the healing and appreciation they deserve. I also like how they've been exploring their sexuality, with Govek learning a lot. Lol! Nothing like a big strong orc to figure out what brings you both the most pleasure ;P This story ends in another cliffy, so, safe to say, I'm quite anxious for the next book ;D Good fun!

He tries to leave she follows and shes soothing his soul. 2nd book she is fighting his fellow orc against their hostility towards him and she also needs the seer to find out what happeed to her parents on earth. But Govik has secrets hes keeping from her. They continue to battle his brother orcs and the warlords and them trying to seperate them. 4.5/5 ⭐ 3/5🌶️

I think I enjoyed book 2 even more than I enjoyed book 1. I really loved the progression in the relationship between Miranda and Govek and the drama and complicated dynamics of them going back to the tribe, the mix of both of their traumas, and the ongoing push from the people around them this way and that way. I find the story interesting and compelling and it really has drawn me in. I am invested now in finding out what happens.

Also I just love the big grumpy MMC, and so of course I instantly fell in love with Govek, but I feel like book 2 I feel in love with him even more. He is everything.

I will be interested to see what type of mess they get themselves into in the last book of the series.

Part two. I wish this was just one book. But alas it’s not….
Miranda and Govek are in the village and basically being bombarded by the villagers and their constant attempts to separate them. It is so horrible that I honestly want to hurt most of the villagers myself. I cannot even imagine being brought up there and having that male as his dad. Like wtf he is so horrible I would have left myself then live under their treatment. I wish they would both just leave this village and go somewhere else. They may have a hard starting but h3ll if would be better then what they have now. Govek could supply what they need. And we were even told he can disappear without anyone being able to follow them.
Things better improve for them in the conclusion or ima be so p1ssed.

I enjoyed the story, Govek and Miranda are so cute together!
Govek's past being uncovered made me so angry at his behalf. I don't have children, nor plan on having them, but I would take that poor boy in and showed him that he was worthy of love and affection. His father is the worst.
Miranda's PTSD was bad. I was a bit irked that she wasn't even trying on working through her trauma and was so fixated on "her babies", but I know it's hard to move on from traumatic experiences. She had also the problem with missing memories, so it may be even harder healing from all she went through.
I want this two to be happy together, so it's a bit daunting to know that the next book is again full of strife for them ;)

I received an advance review copy for free thanks to the author and BookSirens, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. All opinions are my own!

If you enjoyed the first book, the second is more of the same essentially. Instead of seeing Govek and Miranda alone, though, you meet the rest of Govek's tribe, which is... a mixed bag at best. A few characters stand out; many do not, and are pretty one-dimensional. The plot, however, does indeed thicken, as do some other things.

For sensitive readers, this is a "fated mates" type book (some questions of consent inherently implied) with graphic sexuality, violence, bullying, childhood neglect, death of loved ones, torture, and memory loss.

Book two in the series continues straight where we left out MCs. We get more insight in their background and on Gorveks upbringing. And honestly this makes me so mad and makes my heart break for him.

Luckily Miranda is by his side and fights back. I wish she would be even more drastisc in the way she defends him.
The book does repeat it self a few to many times, but it ends like in the first one so you still want to read on. Cant wait to see what happens next.

This is the second in this series of Miranda and Govek's story. And as the title above implies, I am not a fan of cliff hangers, but given this is about one of those yummy 'green guys' I can survive. :D
Thankfully, I also have book 3 to enjoy. :D
These were great to sink into the characters, when I needed to avoid the everyday life, having just lost my Dad. So thank you Aurora, for a great read and I look forward to the last in this series. :)

This is a three book series so far and it centers around Orc Govek and last human Miranda this is a series to be read in order. So far the series is engaging with its drama, danger, suspense, twists, turns and budding romance. But just as it gets good you have to wait for the next book to find out what is going to happen next. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was a fantastic book and I do love the main characters and the struggles that they go through trying to save each other but it does end on a cliffhanger which I'm not a big fan of but I have over looked this because I do love a yummy Orc. There is so much going on in this book with his brethren treating Govek badly from his Rove Wood Clan but Miranda fights for him at every turn all the while searching for the Orc Seer to get answers about her family back on Earth.

The Orc Outcast's Mate is a wonderful continuation of The Orc Outcats's Conquest. The plot thickens and the story delves deeper into Govek and Miranda's histories and traumas. Govek and Miranda are wonderful and complex characters. We learn more about their painful past. There are heartbreaking moments but they are always there for each other. The story is engaging and unputdownable. The world building is wonderful. Govek is absolutely swoonworthy. The story is spicy and suspenseful and ends with a cliffhanger. I can't wait to read the conclusion to this story!

Why are these books so good?! There is so much character development, so much thought put into an incredibly engaging story… I never thought I would feel so strong about an orc but Govek must be protected at all costs! And Miranda is perfect for him! Ugh I don’t want this story to end! Bring on book number 3!.

I couldn't put the book down. The story telling is amazing and I am so hooked on getting to know why the FMC was taken to the other world and who spins these lies about the MMC and for what reason.
The FMC's and MMC's romance is so precious.
