At the end of this book, there were the reminders to not lower expectations, not scaffold everything, and to not tell students to "just do the reading." The book is full of ideas on how to help students read and comprehend grade level texts even when their reading level is not there. It is one of those books that I will need to review and start picking out concepts to put into practice as the first read helped me to understand the picture and get an overview of their big idea. I do not want this to be another professional book that gave me ideas but then through the overwhelm of the school year, I do not pick it up and put it into practice.
