The Drowned Throne

Rate this book
Book 3 in the Lore of Arcana series

From the cesspool of Silas Island into the underworld of Two Town, the battle for Valaris continues. The Darak Or Margus unleashes his soltakin army and at his side is the dara-witch Infinity and her Darkling Horde. As Valaris reels under epic storms and men, women and children succumb to soltakin touch and darkling blade, two mighty armies become one.

It is time to unveil the hidden half-race from below the sands of the Vall Peninsula; Valaris needs soldiers as much as she needs hope. It is time to reveal the Valleur Throne. It is time also to face Margus in his lair and throw the gauntlet down. Arrayed against his might is the small team of defenders, among them Taranis of the Dome Guardians, Vannis of the Valleur…and Torrullin, a man with a dual nature, who as often fights the darkness rising within as he fights to save his world. He is the Enchanter, the One many races in the universe have been waiting for.

Dreams and visions plague Torrullin; he battles to find himself when fate appears omnipotent and love ever beyond his reach. He needs the love his father Taranis offers, but the fiery Saska stands between them…

The extinct Gosa volcano erupts as sacred sites implode to create earthquakes and tidal waves. A monster wave is unleashed and headed to an epic confrontation before an ancient and powerful golden seat…

Elaina lives in magical Ireland after leaving the surrounds of magnificent Table Mountain at the southern tip of Africa. Having lived in both Ireland and New Zealand, she now realises Ireland’s mists are close to perfection. When writing she puts into words her travels and dreams, because she believes there is inspiration in even the most outrageous tale.

After studying Purchasing Management and working in the formal sector as a buyer, she chose to raise and home-school her three children. She started writing novels around 2002, moving from children’s stories, poetry and short stories to concentrate on larger works.

While her main body of work has been her Fantasy Series (Lore of Arcana, Lore of Reaume and Lore of Sanctum), she is a diverse writer and her credits include novels and shorter stories in the Contemporary, Humorous, Paranormal, Dystopian, Alternate History and Romantic genres, as well as Non-fiction. Many of her books have been translated into Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, German, Greek and French. Her audiobook library is growing too.

Ireland’s ancient past has influenced her writing, gifting her work a Celtic twist, while the majesty of New Zealand has led her to mountaintops and extraordinary vistas. The vibrancy of Africa has had much to do with the inspirational side of Elaina’s work. The colours and diversity of nature itself fires her imagination.

Come with her to places familiar and far, far away!

“The Drowned Throne” by Elaina J. Davidson, is book three in the Lore of Arcana series that continues the exemplary style of epic world building, high-adventure, intrigue, and sorcery as book two, “The Kinfire Tree,” (My five-star review can be found on Goodreads and Amazon).

The cast of characters, settings and scenes, are intricately woven into a single piece of world building done right. The term “mindboggling” is insufficient when considering the depth of complexity and adept wordsmithing necessary to put a story like this together while keeping it “simple” enough not to throw the reader completely out of the story. But Davidson doesn’t stop at wowing the reader with fascinating characters, amazing sorcery, and incredible settings; she also snares the reader with emotions that include not only those of the standard love, hate, happy, sad; but also include reactionary emotions like “fight or flight” or clearly defining the contrast between emotions and moods for her characters is absolutely top shelf. Fans of epic fantasy and apocalyptic science fiction should not pass this one... or the series up!

A spectacular success.
If you are a fan of mythological creatures along fierce battles, you will enjoy this novel as much as I did. Through her British wording, Elaina J. Davidson has the ability to transcend all palpable emotions upon a setting of imaginative worlds. What attracted me most was her incomparable array of unbridled discourse, her craft for letting the reader imagine all motions and feelings of the characters. Yes, it is a thick novel but the fonts were adequately chosen for an enjoyable read.

Book 3 of the Lore Of Arcana series joins the group in their battle to save Valaris from the evil Darak Or.We get closer to understanding Torrullin( formerly Rayne) and also finding out more of who he really is,relationships are tested and solidified. We also find out more about the enigma that is Margus (the Darak Or) and how he became such a bastion of evil. This is such an Amazing series that I make myself read each book slowly so as to draw it out as long as possible. Each book gives us just enough information to sate our curiosity of mysteries put before us.Elaina J Davidson is an exceptional author who has her finger on the very pulse of adventure and every book she writes leaves you hungering for more. This is such an Outstanding series it will stand the test of time and be known as a truly great work of literature.

This one dragged. I kept reading because I wanted to see if the main character ended up with the one character I disliked. Probably won't read the 4th book.
