Anyone would think that a bookish spinster with bad eyesight has had her share of bad luck. But when "accidents" begin to happen at the worst possible time, Isha Elmwood spots the man behind the mischief: Mr. Bad Luck himself. Trouble is, she's the only one who can see him. Isha must find a way to put a stop to this handsome knave without subjecting herself to the worst luck of all...losing her heart.
Lovely plot story. It's the best written novella that I've read in a very long time. More importantly, it did not seem rushed at all, which is really my biggest problem with most novellas. And the ending is simply incredible.
This was a wonderfully enchanting historical about faith and accepting yourself as you are. Isha is a spinster who encounters a mischief maker who calls himself “Bad Luck.” Only she can see him, so I thought, ok, it’s a ghost story. The truth of his identity is even more beautiful, and while I loved our spiritual being as a hero, things ended as they should. Well done!

I had a vague sense of the story, when I started, but the outcome is completely different than I expected. The story is about Isha, a spinster with a younger sister just coming out, who meets Bad Luck, a entity that seems to be following her and her sister. I don't want to reveal too much of the story, because it's a novella and pretty short, but it is unlike any HR I've come across. There is a sort of romance, but...gah, too many spoilers. It's good and it's different. The story comes with a sentimental message. While I enjoyed the pacing, I wish there were more details on who Mr Bad Luck had in mind for the sister.
Michelle Marcos definitely has a way with words. Mr Bad Luck was such a fun novella. I'm not a huge fan of historical romance but I am now. MBL is a cross between chick lit and romance making it a great way to pass the time when my insomnia acts up.
