This is the final book release from Risen Motherhood, which is bittersweet as the ministry has been a blessing to myself personally, and I know so many others as well.
If you’ve found encouragement from the books Risen Motherhood or Gospel Mom, I know you will love this latest release A Million Tiny Moments. It’s both practical and uplifting, helping us moms refocus our mindset in the small forgotten moments of the day.
This is great to pick up when you need a pick me up! There’s so many moments in the day of a mom- I’ve already been so encouraged pushed to Christ glancing over a few of the reflections by the authors. This is great for new moms or veteran moms.
These heartfelt encouragements are both biblical and practical, admonishing moms to not grow weary in carrying the message of the gospel “when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise” (Deut. 6:7). The years with teeny ones can feel like a never ending cycle of diapers, sticky hands, and reading on laps. But every moment matters when done in service to the Lord.
This curated collection features edited and updated Risen Motherhood writings from a variety of outlets all compiled into one space for at-a-glance reading. The writings are not exhaustive or intended to be deep theological teachings. They read more like anecdotal and experiential reflections from the hearts of two moms who are striving to apply the gospel to the “million tiny moments” we walk all through.
Thank you to Harvest House Publishers for a complimentary book in exchange for an honest review. Opinions expressed are completely my own.
This book is full of short readings on many different topics for all those times that you need a breather and encouragement, truth and a reminder you're not on this journey alone. Because these are short readings even non readers would read these because they can read the one that pertains to today and put it down ❤️
Even as a Mom of 6 ages 12-5 no longer just in those frantic early years - I found many encouragements throughout this book. I also loved that I could pick it up read the topic I needed and be refreshed, encouraged, etc to move on in 5 min or less it really helps my struggle days. So no matter where you are in your motherhood journey you will find encouragement throughout this book.
This is going to become my go to book to give new Mom's with their baby shower gift. I will be recommending this to all my friends and other moms I meet! 💗💗💗 Emily and Laura did a fantastic job!
A compilation of writings from the authors of Risen Motherhood. These chapters include previously published works nicely gathered together in concise form. You can pick up the book at any point and glean valuable information about motherhood and the important need for the gospel in every day life. After reading their other published works, I found this to be an excellent, simple collection for whatever you might be going through.
I received this book just a few days after my Dad died and I wasn’t sure how I would find time and energy to sit down and read a whole book in that moment. But when I picked up the book to read it for the first time I was pleasantly surprised to find that the entries were short and it was laid out like a topical reference guide, using the gospel to encourage the hearts of mom going through a wide variety of situations. I wanted to go straight to the section on sadness and see what Laura and Emily had to say about grief, but I made myself start at the beginning and I’m so glad I did. Each short entry reminded me of the hope we have because of Christ and helped turn my eyes to Him as I seek to do the great work I have in front of me of raising my kids and helping my now widowed mother. I love that this book can be so applicable to many stages of motherhood and I definitely plan on purchasing a few more copies so I can hand them out to encourage my Mom friends in this journey.
This book is exactly what I needed in my life - short pieces of encouragement for many the challenging aspects of motherhood. Laura and Emily did it again with another amazing book! It’s so easy to just pick it up and flip to a relevant topic in the moment, and all of them are so encouraging while also being short enough that it’s not overwhelming and I don’t feel like I need to read a whole chapter at once. This book is full of reminders that our worth is not defined by the tough moments in motherhood and whether or not we do a good enough job, but by the grace of Jesus. Highly recommend this book for any mom!
This encouraged my heart! Love these two women of God and their heart for other mamas. This will be one that I’ll want to read and read again and again as a balm and encouragement to my sometimes weary mama heart!
The Risen Motherhood podcast ministry made a huge difference in my faith life after becoming a mom, so I’m thankful for this book which is full of short encouragements & truths written by Emily & Laura over the course of the ministry. I enjoyed how the book is easy to read in short pieces, truly “reflections to refresh a mother’s spirit”.
Really enjoyed this one. Would read one writing a night before bed, highly recommend going through it this way, so many times it was the encouragement or comfort I needed in that moment!
I’m grateful for the work of Risen Motherhood! This is a great devotional-style book that would be a great add to a baby shower gift. True and kind encouragements for all kinds of motherhood moments.
As a mom to a 7-month-old, life can feel like a constant whirlwind of feedings, diaper changes, and trying to steal a few minutes of sleep. This is exactly why *A Million Tiny Moments* was such a blessing to me. Emily and Laura have written a book that feels like a warm hug right when you need it — it’s like they’re speaking directly to the heart of every busy mom.
The best part about this book is how easy it is to read in small chunks. Each reflection is short enough to fit into those brief moments I get between baby naps or while I’m rocking my little one to sleep. I never feel overwhelmed, and it always leaves me feeling encouraged and refocused. The book speaks to the real struggles of motherhood — the exhaustion, the self-doubt, the feelings of being spread too thin — but it also gently reminds you that those little moments matter and that God’s grace is with us every step of the way.
I love how the authors connect everyday challenges to timeless gospel wisdom. Whether it’s dealing with mom guilt or feeling overwhelmed by the never-ending to-do list, they manage to help me see that even in the mess, there’s purpose and peace. The book doesn’t sugarcoat things, but instead, it offers hope in a way that feels very grounded and realistic.
For any mom out there who’s feeling worn out or just looking for a little spiritual encouragement, I highly recommend this book. It’s the perfect reminder that those tiny moments — even the hard ones — are valuable, and that we’re not alone in the journey.
In A Million Tiny Moments, Emily A. Jensen and Laura Wifler offer short reflections designed to refresh a mom’s spirit.
This book is a curated collection of writings from the women behind Risen Motherhood, thoughtfully compiled to provide timely and relevant support. Although it’s not a Bible study, it certainly points to Scripture! It serves as an instant source of encouragement and continually redirects the reader’s focus to Christ.
Comfort, Clarity, and Gospel Grace
Many of the topics resonate deeply, especially those I’ve discussed with my own wife—like when your day gets interrupted or when you simply need to hear that you’re doing a good job. Some reflections span several pages, while others are as brief as a short Instagram caption. Reading this as a husband has helped me know what my wife may feel and how I can help!
What surprised me most was the abundance of wisdom surrounding the challenges moms face, especially in the context of the pressures and expectations set by the online world. This book is a wonderful reference and resource, offering comfort, clarity, and gospel grace for every mom.
I received a media copy of A Million Tiny Moments and this is my honest review.
As a mom of four little ones (ages 0-5), I’m what they call “in the trenches.” It is a beautiful and amazing gift, but it is also challenging in so many ways! It’s easy to get discouraged or fall into comparing and longing for easier, but this book is SO encouraging! The small sections are very easy to read, whether during the day or just a quick moment before laying down for the night. Laura and Emily have really captured the heart of the mother here, in a way that is supportive and encouraging, yet challenges you to embrace where you’re at, struggles and all! I would absolutely recommend this to any mom, starting out with her firstborn, or further along with one or more kids already into the school age years!
A great book that I will come back to over and over again for reminders of God’s goodness and grace!
These ladies started the Risen Motherhood ministry & it was a lifeline when I was first starting out as a young mom. Having grown up in a legalistic environment where the Gospel was for salvation but not much else, the message of the Gospel applied to my mothering was life-giving. I didn't even know what I needed, but God did. As this ministry winds down in order for the Emily & Laura to move on to other ministry ventures, they're publishing this book. It's short little readings for all the little moments when you need a reminder of the Gospel. Whether it's a personal struggle or something your family is walking through, they've compiled many of their blog posts & social media posts into this helpful book. I hope you will find it as encouraging as I did.
I have been following Risen Motherhood for a few years now, and own all their books including some authored by Laura and Emily individually. I love to read but it is hard to find time with little ones. This book is awesome because it includes a helpful index so you can look up just the right snippet of encouragement you need on that given day. Each topical entry is short and perfect for moms like me who feel overwhelmed with finding time for lengthier chapters in books. I was so excited to receive this final book being written under the Risen Motherhood. I highly recommend this book to all my fellow busy moms out there!
This book is just what I needed, and what I will continue to need on and off throughout the years.
To be honest, I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about the format. While I like short little essays, I still wasn’t sure if I’d find them as helpful and encouraging as Gospel Mom or Risen Motherhood. I knew it would be good, but I didn’t know how much it would bless me in a season of chaos.
I’m so thankful that this ministry existed. I’m so thankful that all their writing points back to the Gospel. I’m so thankful for the encouragement and guidance I found in these short writings, and I know I’ll be coming back again.
A Million Tiny Moments is a wonderful resource for mothers. It would make a great baby shower gift or anytime gift to a mom, whose spirit needs to be refreshed. You can read it cover to cover or use it as a reference as the content are nicely laid out by category in the front of the book. It’s incredibly encouraging, heartfelt, and at time brings tears to your eyes. It is personal but saturated by the truth of God’s Word. You will be pointed to Christ. It helps you to not alone in the trials too will face while raising children; other women walk with you.
These bite size messages of Gospel hope speak to so many situations moms find themselves in. I found such truth and encouragement in these pages. As moms it can be really easy to feel alone in motherhood, but this book is one way to feel seen by other moms in the trenches and by a God who never leaves us on our own. The Bible is full of truth and encouragement, and this book helps connect that truth for moms in all the different seasons specific to motherhood.
First of all this book is beautiful! Love the colors and the quality. Life is filled with a million tiny moments and I love the faith based encouragement from this book for moms in any given moment. Moments of being tired to needing to strength or help following God. So many different situations and feelings a mom may encounter and they are topically listed in the contents so you can pick what you need and reference when you have a moment to read! A great book for every mom!
This is a great resource for moms. It is full of helpful encouragement for a wide variety of aspects of motherhood. I love that every entry points to the Gospel and our identity in Christ. It is thoughtfully laid out in short sections, which is so accessible and realistic for busy moms to be able to read. It has been an encouraging read for me and I plan to buy more copies to gift to my mom friends.
I have enjoyed A Million Tiny Moments from Emily and Laura at Risen Motherhood. Risen Motherhood has been such a wonderful resource during my early years of motherhood and I love that I now have little bits in this devotional book. There is so much in this book to continually reference as we walk through motherhood and life. They point to the gospel and how to apply it in the “mundane moments.” You won’t regret reading this one!
This book is a breath of fresh air! Emily and Laura have put gospel-centered Hope, reflection and encouragement in this book. Every possible situation you could think of (and even ones you couldn’t think of) are presented here - you could read it cover to cover, or bounce around when you need specific encouragement. Reading this book has brought me closer to Christ and has allowed me to know Him better!
After a hard day of parenting, I picked this book up and was tearfully encouraged after just the first few words. Laura and Emily do a beautiful job pointing mothers to the gospel hope of our gracious Savior in all the tiny- good and hard- moments of motherhood. The format is so accessible for busy moms. I can't wait to continue picking this up for years to come and gifting it to all my mom friends.
I am very thankful to be able to read this book full of encouraging moments in my mom life. It felt like I was getting a cup of coffee with a friend and they wanted to speak life into my struggles.
This is a book that I’ll pick up a lot. I am already planning to mark the pages that hit me the most.
I enjoyed it a lot that I decided I needed to get one for my sister who is expecting her second child.
I hope and pray that others can be encouraged by this book too!
With three young kiddos, including one with disabilities, finding time to read is a real challenge. This book, however, has been so helpful. It delivers bite-sized doses of theological encouragement, consistently pointing me to Christ, exactly when I need it. The diverse topics are incredibly helpful, and while it could be read straight through, I've found immense value in using the table of contents to target specific areas of encouragement and challenge throughout my day.
The refreshing gospel truth written in easy to read, digestible essays are perfect for a moment of encouragement when you need a small nugget of encouragement.
This would be a wonderful gift of encouragement for any mom who is a believer.
Thankful for the work of Risen Motherhood and the impact they've had on my mothering journey though the years!
This book is perfect for busy moms seeking gospel truth during struggles. It is set up with a giant index in the beginning with just about any season or feeling of motherhood you could think of! Every short chapter is like a mom to mom hug wrapped up in His truth. I can not wait to gift this to other moms in my life :)
Such an encouragement for moms in many stages of motherhood! It is so nice to scan the index at the front of the book to see what type of encouragement would be best in the moment you’re currently facing. I’ve found encouragement for every day moments, as well as moments when our whole family was sick & our son was in the ER, and everything in between. So much wisdom & goodness!
