"We're feeding the mouth of Europe. Full of little parcels. Filling it with little pieces of crap." (about vessels arriving at Rotterdam Port)

'This is Europe' is the name of the book. And it is indeed Europe, not the one we romanticize or recognize, but the sum of stories of many anonymous persons, a multicultural continent where everyone has something to tell. And this book is that, several europeans in several locations talking about their background and where they are now. And it is on the journey, on the different struggles and paths that Europe is built. This is Europe.

Brilliant.

Admittedly, I thought I was buying yet another 500 page geopolitical analysis of what is going right/wrong with Europe but oh how wrong I was.

23 gripping true story vignettes gathered from around Europe putting you directly "in the moment" with the subjects of those stories.

Wonderfully written and very moving.

This book will stay with me for a long time.

A must-read book.
