*While this novel is a standalone, the author recommends that the reader indulges in the first two books of the trilogy - Pretty Shattered Soul and Pretty Shattered Heart to get the full depth and understanding of the characters. **Potential This book has explicit language, sexual encounters, panic attacks and addresses mental health.
Mind can be defined as the element of a human that gives them an awareness of the world's perspective on their experiences. The mind holds our thoughts and feelings. But what happens when the chaos of your thoughts makes it impossible to find clarity? When the noise of heart-wrenching memories drowns the whispers... the desires of your heart.
Aminah Loveless finds herself haunted by her past. Her first love, Malakai, was her one and only true love, but the scars he left behind and the promise she made him have left her wary of opening her heart again. On the surface, her life is every woman’s a supportive family, a blooming career, and amazing friendships, but the yearning for one key component was missing... love.
Nicolas Touissant was a kind-hearted and understanding man who was immediately intrigued by Aminah. Her words say she wants nothing but friendship, while their magnetic connection speaks a different language. There is no hesitation in Nicolas’s heart or head. He is ready to make Aminah his one and only, give her the world.
Second-guessing her every move, Aminah finds herself torn between giving love another chance or staying committed to an unfulfilling pact. Although Nicolas’s compassion and patience are potent, he is growing impatient with the pretty shattered beauty.
Nicolas and Aminah's path is fraught with challenges, uncertainty, and pain. Will their love story be a poignant exploration of friendship, adoration, and healing or will their journey end before it truly gets started?
Hey Loves! I grew up in St. Louis, Missouri (in the words of Nelly, “I’m from the Lou and I’m proud!) with incredible parents and two amazing older sisters. Born Stacey Renee, I was the baby of the bunch and always had a vivid imagination – was wise beyond my years (to grown for my own good) if you ask my mother!
My love for talking too much (ha!), journaling, daydreaming, reading & watching various genres of movies, books I went to journalism school, determined to become Oprah! After finishing my degree, I did everything but becoming a journalist. I dishonored my childhood dreams of being in some form of entertainment but found a way to use this big mouth for good in the diversity, equity, and inclusion space.
I rekindled my love for reading and writing during the 2020 pandemic where my alter ego & pen name, Robbi Renee was born. Robbi is my daddy’s nickname so my pen name pays homage to him. (Yep! I’m still a daddy’s girl!) Renee, as you can see is my middle name – Robbi Renee!
I started Love Notes by Robbi Renee as an outline to release all of the stories that live in my head. I was challenged to write and publish my first novella, French Kiss Christmas, published December 2020.
Robbi Renee draws upon personal experiences with life and love. My written works are inspired by my adoration for Black love, and stories of romance, heartache, trauma, intuition, and redemption.
Stacey/Robbi Renee enjoys her own Black family love story with her husband George and teenage son.
Oh my goodness. Let's talk about emotions. Nicolas is the real MVP because the layers in which he had to endure to penetrate Aminah's heart were surreal. Yet, we go on the journey of what allowing love to lead the way should be.
We all need friends like Symphony and Syncere. They held Aminah accountable while supporting her. Do the work so that past fears cannot hold you captive.
Go on the journey of Aminah and Nicolas and discover how friends, compassion and love bide one together.
You'll enjoy the real because it tangibly deals with mental health, especially when it leaves a love one to deal with the effects and impact.
Aminah and Nicolas were such a beautiful love story to read. There were plenty of times in this book where I wanted to shake Aminah, but she redeemed herself. Nicolas was so patient with her while she kept him friendzoned, but she almost lost him due to the promise she made. As always, the lovely Dr. Jacky, the therapist, set Aminah on the path to healing. This entire friend group was so amazing, and I hated finishing the series, but I'm happy everyone got their HEA. This entire series is 5⭐️ for me and I loved each of them equally.
This is another solid offering by Robbi Renee and the final book in the trilogy. It did not disappoint and themes of love, trauma and healing are continued in this book. Nic and the guys in this series do not play about loving their women.
For me, the book could have been slightly longer with more time on the couple’s journey towards the end. The last 10% covered a lot of ground given the pace of the rest of the book.
Already looking forward to what’s coming next from Ms Renee!
Ok Ms. Renee. Didn’t see that coming. What a shocker to this storyline. That surprise made me understand Aminah’s character better. I couldn’t understand her choices but understood the fear. Good ending for the trilogy. I will say that I wasn’t as emotional as I was during the first and second books of the trilogy. I believe it was because I felt like I knew Syncere and Symphony better. There was not much development of Aminah’s character in the previous stories. Great series of Love

💭 Final Thoughts: This was a heavy read with moments of tender, patient love, along with tension and longing.
I really enjoy how much we learn about one another’s struggles, that enhances the lessons learned from each characters perspective and personality and it just keeps getting better and better. I am definitely taking notes. 😂😅. My peace resonates here. For real for real. The imagery, atmosphere and symbolism are amazing! Love 💕 me some Robbi Renee!
February Read: Pretty Shattered Mind by Robbi Renee ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. This was my absolute favorite book from the trilogy The Pretty Shattered series. This is book 3 & the main characters are Aminah & Nic. The themes of this book are love, trauma, & healing, which were present in the last 2 books. Nic was so patient with Aminah as she navigated through a promise she made in her past that was stopping Aminah from loving someone else. I definitely didn't see the twist in the end coming, but I appreciated it.
This was my absolute favorite book from the trilogy The Pretty Shattered. I love how Nic treated her when she returned from London. The role reversal was great! And I enjoyed reading about Aminah’s emotional journey to get the man she loved. A great read!
I enjoyed every minute of this book. A bit triggering after losing a loved one to a mental breakdown. Nevertheless, Pretty Shattered Mind was my favorite from the Pretty Shattered series!
The book is a stand alone but part of a series I enjoyed. Aminah was trying to deal with her trauma the best way she knew. Nic was a great friend to her and she was lucky to have him in her life. This was a slow burn for me both overall a good book.
I found myself engrossed in the story, excited, nervous, and anticipating the outcome for these friends. It's a beautiful story that will have you considering many facets of your own journey.
This book sent me through all the feels, every emotion! This is my 6th book from this author and each time I'm left wanting more. A great writer and storyteller!! Love love this series!
Wow! Wow! Wow! Just when I thought King was Book Bae for life, Nicolas Touisannt has come along and put him on the shelf. Nicolas Touisannt displayed the Love, Patience, and Trust that Aminah needed. I could read this series over and over again.
If that Amimah didn't get on my nerves throughout this book, but I truly understood what she was going through in the end. Boy was Nic not the perfect man. I was routing for him the entire time. Way to go Ms. Robbi, another great one.
Oh my goodness, Aminah was stressing me out. I know she was dealing with trauma but I wanted to shake her. Like stop playing with Nic like that. He just wants to love you. I was glad she finally realized what she was losing. But they finally got it together. Good flow and perfect ending.
