So it is a novel where one person stalks another for some reason. This was the thought that came in my mind when I started this novel. However, soon the plot became interesting as new information started pouring in. Then came the ending and I admit it was worth it. A rich business man getting married to a beautiful, kind and sincere girl. Enter the jealous lady who wants the man for herself at any cost. Then start the murders. You soon find yourself in midst of a murder mystery tied to past lives of all the players. A taut thriller from Nagasri that you will finish in one sitting.

The moment I started reading "If You Are Mine," I found myself spiraling into a world where love and obsession blur into something terrifyingly real. Nagasri R has crafted a psychological thriller that had me holding my breath with every turn of the page, and I couldn’t put it down until I reached the very end.

At the center of this chilling tale is Krishi, a character who left me both fascinated and deeply unsettled. Her fixation on Adarsh, the man she’s determined to possess at any cost, is portrayed with such unnerving detail that I could almost feel her lurking in the shadows, her presence a constant threat. The anklet, innocently engraved with her name, takes on a sinister significance as it becomes a symbol of her relentless pursuit. With each passing chapter, I found myself increasingly anxious about how far Krishi would go to get what she wants. Her character is the very embodiment of a neurotic psychopath, and the more I learned about her, the more I feared for anyone standing in her way.

Adarsh and Tripti’s relationship, by contrast, is a breath of fresh air—a simple, tender love that shines in a world darkened by Krishi’s obsession. Their connection feels genuine, and I couldn’t help but root for them, even as the story made it clear that their happiness was hanging by a thread. Tripti, especially, resonated with me. Her world, once so uncomplicated, begins to unravel as she becomes the target of Krishi’s malevolent focus. The tension between her innocence and Krishi’s cunning made me feel a deep sense of dread, and I couldn’t stop worrying about her safety as the story progressed.

Vishnu Koteshwar’s investigation adds another layer of suspense to the narrative. His pursuit of a brutal murderer, one who clearly possesses a deranged and brilliant mind, had me on the edge of my seat. The way Nagasri R weaves together Vishnu’s hunt with the overarching story is masterful, creating a sense of urgency that propels the novel forward. The stakes are high, and the clock is ticking, leaving the reader to wonder—can Vishnu catch the killer before it’s too late?

While the story gripped me, I did notice a few areas where the book could have been improved. The language, while straightforward, sometimes felt a bit too simplistic for my liking. There were moments when I longed for richer descriptions or a more varied vocabulary to fully capture the depth of the emotions at play. Additionally, the punctuation errors—well, perhaps I’m a bit of a grammar stickler, but they did pull me out of the narrative at times. That said, these minor flaws pale in comparison to the sheer intensity of the plot.

What truly captivated me was the psychological depth of the characters. As someone intrigued by the human mind, I found Krishi’s character to be a fascinating case study. Nagasri R peels back the layers of Krishi’s past, revealing the traumas and obsessions that have shaped her into the person she is. There’s a sense of inevitability in the way her story unfolds, and it’s both heartbreaking and terrifying to witness.

And then there’s the twist—a twist that I never saw coming, and one that left me reeling long after I finished the book. Without giving anything away, I’ll just say that Nagasri R has a talent for pulling the rug out from under the reader in the most unexpected way. It’s the kind of twist that makes you want to go back and re-read the story, just to catch all the subtle clues you might have missed. It was a reminder that sometimes, the most terrifying monsters are not those who are born evil, but those who are created by their circumstances. I honestly 'did' not expect that twist.

In the end, "If You Are Mine" is a rollercoaster of a thriller, one that kept me hooked from start to finish. Despite the few areas where the writing could have been polished, the story’s intensity and psychological complexity more than make up for it. If you’re a fan of suspenseful, mind-bending thrillers, this book is definitely worth your time. Just be prepared for a ride that will leave you questioning everything you thought you knew.

From the very first page, If You Are Mine hooks you into a world where obsession becomes deadly, and love is caught in a terrifying crossfire. This psychological thriller, written by Nagasri R, explores the dark, dangerous side of human emotion and pushes boundaries as it takes you through a rollercoaster of suspense and emotion.

The story revolves around Krishi, who is not just any girl in love—she’s a psychopath, and her fixation on Adarsh is chilling. Adarsh, on the other hand, is happily engaged to the innocent and sweet Tripti. As the story unfolds, you find yourself rooting for Tripti, but constantly fearing for her as Krishi's manipulative obsession threatens to destroy everything in its path. And to add to the tension, there’s Vishnu Koteshwar, the investigator racing against time to stop a murderer before more lives are claimed.

What truly sets this book apart is how it handles obsession. It’s not just your typical love triangle—there’s a deadly edge to it. Krishi's character is unsettling in the best way possible, and the more I learned about her, the more I was on the edge of my seat, hoping for Tripti’s survival.

Nagasri R’s writing is straightforward, almost deceptively simple, but don't let that fool you. Behind the simplicity, there's a gripping depth in how she portrays the psychological aspects of obsession. The tension builds with every chapter, and her ability to make Krishi so hauntingly real is what keeps the pages turning. That being said, there are moments when I wished for richer, more descriptive language to really dive into the emotional intensity, but the clean prose also makes this a fast-paced read.

Krishi is the star of this book—there's no denying it. She’s a villain you won’t forget, and her backstory peels back layer by layer, revealing the trauma that’s shaped her into a dangerous force. Adarsh and Tripti, in contrast, are characters you root for, but Krishi steals the show with her unpredictability. The central theme of obsession—how it consumes, destroys, and warps reality—is chillingly explored here. It really made me think about how far someone might go to get what they want.

The pacing is perfect for a thriller. It builds slowly at first, allowing you to get attached to the characters, then takes off as Krishi's obsession spirals out of control. The twists? Mind-blowing. I’m usually good at guessing endings, but this one caught me by surprise. It’s the kind of twist that leaves you thinking, “Wait, what just happened?” and makes you want to reread certain chapters to catch the subtle hints.

This book genuinely made me anxious. The scenes between Krishi and Tripti left me holding my breath, especially when I realized just how far Krishi was willing to go. There's a moment near the climax where the tension is so thick, I actually paused because I wasn’t emotionally ready for what was coming next.

The psychological depth of Krishi’s character, the unpredictable plot twists, and the way the story keeps you glued to the page until the end. It’s a fast-paced thriller that doesn’t let up.

At times, the writing could have been more polished. The straightforward language is effective, but I think a bit more descriptive prose could have elevated the emotional stakes even higher.

If You Are Mine is a gripping, fast-paced thriller that takes you deep into the mind of a dangerous, obsessive character. It’s the kind of book that will have you checking the locks on your doors and looking over your shoulder. If you’re a fan of psychological thrillers that leave you thinking long after you’ve finished, this one is for you.

An engaging mix of romance, suspense, and character drama. Smoothly combines the ups and downs of love, jealousy, and ambition. At its heart, this book is more than just a suspenseful romance—it’s a story about how far people will go when their desires get the best of them.

The characters are the standout part of the book. Krishi’s fascination with Adarsh, Adarsh’s charm, and Tripti’s honest, trusting nature create a strong mix that keeps you wanting to know more.

The pacing is another strength. The reader gets the transition from calm scenes to intense moments smoothly, keeping the anticipation high as actions grow bolder and riskier.

Setting of scenes and environment is a special highlight. The descriptions of Bengaluru, daily routines, and the characters’ apperance makes it easy to picture every moment as if we are literally there. Whether it’s a crowded street or a cozy restaurant, the surroundings feel true to life. These details make each chapter more immersive, giving readers a full sense of the characters’ world.

This isn’t a lighthearted read; it’s a book that keeps your focus and pulls you along to find out what happens next. It is a memorable look at love, ambition, and the ways human emotion can lead us to unexpected places.

Excellent, neatly drawn outline, the plot is interesting, the webs of unimaginable fear engulfs, classy placement of characters at right place at right time. There are several books on psychological torment in the market, but I would calle it a 'Psychological Thriller' in the real sense. Great going author. Hats off.

A superb story, fast-paced and suspenseful. The characters are realistic and well-drawn and there is a sense of dread throughout the narrative. The final twist is one of those that truly is unexpected; despite almost exclusively reading thrillers, I could not predict the finale. For the story and the characters, I would recommend this.
