Marcus is the son of Mayor Gustus Gravelleli, a man who has dedicated his life to politics and has this year decided to run for elections to become the next Fae King. Having criticised controversial views on Fae and Demons's ability to coexist, Marcus remains but only a shadow in supporting his father’s career, especially as his childhood crush, Megan, is demon.

Being an Fae means that Marcus can feel living creatures’ emotions and already knows that his tremendous love for Megan is reciprocated. Being a demon and hence able to determine the purity of any soul, Marcus fears that Megan can see evil inside him. Despite the mutual love, she has kept her distance. What he doesn’t know is that she carries a secret, a fatal secret that would not be safe in Marcus’s hands. A secret that could keep them apart forever.

This is a wonderful fantasy read where we have a fae and a demon, forbidden love, secrets, danger and so much more as we dive into this incredible world. The world building is descriptive and beautiful and draws you in close, the storyline is enthralling and intriguing and brimming with twists and turns and our characters are well developed and relatable. Hooked from start to finish, I thoroughly enjoyed this and look forward to more.

This was a fantastic read I was quickly absorbed in the story and didn't want to put the book down until I was finished.
The world building was incredible and I loved the characters of both Marcus and Megan.
The cliffhanger ending was unexpected so I am now waiting impatiently for the next book.
I received an ARC copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving this review.

I enjoyed this PNR/UF storyline with drama, great characters, and wonderful world-building. The MCs are defined, magical, likable, and engaging. I found this book entertaining. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.

Good YA book. The MCs were innocent teens and their decisions were terrible which drove the story. The story line was rather simple and the book easy to read. It does end in a cliffhanger; so if you don't like that, beware.

I don't think I was mentally prepared for this book.
This is clearly the start of an epic series and I still can't believe how drawn straight in I was and now urgently need book 2.
There are so many things I want to say about this book but I would inadvertently give away spoilers.
So all I can really say, is that this is a good book and maybe has a little darker elements than her other books
