A Guide to Using the iRobot Roomba

Rate this book
iRobot first introduced the Roomba in 2002 and has quickly become one of the most used robot vacuum cleaners in the world. Roomba was considered a huge breakthrough in cleaning when it was discovered that the Roomba could vacuum your floors all on its own and do a better job than sweeping or vacuuming done by a person. The Roomba also provided a great and easy way to keep your floors clean and have it done while you’re at work or sleeping. The Roomba provides a way for busy people to clean their floors clean while not actively cleaning themselves. The Roomba provides a convenience for everybody and cuts down on cleaning time people have to allot themselves when working a hectic schedule with their careers and families. For those that have tried the Roomba, there is no going back to traditional vacuuming. Roombas are a must-have and are capable of doing a great job for you every day at the time you want the Roomba to work for you.

Don't bother.

Don't bother.

This guide did not say much more than the iRobot Roomba manual and it stops at the 600 series. With that said, it may be beneficial to someone considering buying a Roomba if they can't go to the iRobot Roomba website which gives more information without the poor editing.

I was hoping to get more information on using the virtual walls and lighthouses-tips and tricks from years of use-but that was barely mentioned. I actually received much better information from the Roomba reviewers on Amazon's website.

The author mentioned common sense information in a pleasant, less technical voice, than the manual. For example, she described how the sensors worked in a way anyone could understand. I had to laugh at the suggestion to sweep the floor before Roomba cleans the first time. I understand the author was trying to say that by sweeping before you turn Roomba loose you can be more aware of items (socks, cords, toys, etc) that may cause a problem. However, a reasonable person can surely check a room out for these things without "cleaning the house before the cleaning service comes".

Bottom line, I would not recommend this book and would be quite disgusted if I had not received it free.
