In this thrilling sequel, Detective Rose Landgreen faces her toughest challenge yet, blending suspense, rich character development, and a touch of humor in a story that will keep readers hooked until the very last page.
The final but also the best book in this incredible, gripping series! Oh how bittersweet… I’m so bummed that this is the end, but wow … this last book is so amazing! And I love that the author didn’t leave readers hanging and offered some crucial answers and closure. This story has the same gripping, almost haunted feel the other books have, but tension rises in a crescendo of spine-chilling suspense when a blast from the past unsettles Rose right when she is juggling an unexpected visitor, yet again a murder in her sleepy hometown, gruesome discoveries pertaining to cold cases and as always … the care for her mother. I simply could not put this book down. The author drew me into the world of Rose Landgreen with such ease and had me on the edge of my seat throughout. Rose Landgreen will forever be one of my favorite fictional detectives! She is such an intriguing character, capable, warm, genuine and wise in a way that makes it so easy to relate to her. In this final story in the series, she faces a kind of evil she never has before, and it takes all her cunning and bravery to overcome it. Things get very dire. Of course, darling Eric is also still there! With both of them being so different, their friendship is as unexpected as it is heartwarming. I was surprised at the turn his storyline took, but quite pleased too. He is so insightful and brave in his own way. And a wonderful friend for Rose. I adore him. All in all, a great read. Recommend!
Finished the series last night. Maybe I should have spaced the books out more, I read them all in 3 days. It just seems implausible that all these elaborate murder plots are happening so often in this tiny town. I don't think even huge cities have that many serial killers. Also, the obsessions with Rose's weight needs to stop. It's gotten ridiculous. Almost every character in the books have mentioned her weight or diet.
