The Prince, trained to despise the witch, discovers in her a soul that mirrors his own.

Lara and Darius’ story is a quick reading novella full of a sharp witted witch in hiding and a slightly full of himself Prince on the hunt to Not get married ! Alexa Ashe gave these characters a story full of heat, hate, love and all sorts of other feelings. It was a great paranormal romance for a quick lunch break or read before bed book. 5✨’s.

It's a short novella where everything has to happen kind of quick.
It was a pretty enjoyable read. I feel Darius had more of an instalove attraction, which isn't my favorite, and I get that he was different from his parents, but it's weird how he was cool with Elara being a witch.
I liked Elara's character. She was a strong woman and wasn't immature which made the book more enjoyable to read.
Elara is a witch living in hiding in an anti-witch kingdom. When she agrees to help a rejected noblewoman seek revenge on Crown Prince Darius, her carefully laid plan quickly unravels and she finds herself magically bound to him instead.
This was fine, and I know it’s a short story, there just wasn’t enough set up of the world or the main characters for me to really engage and invest in the story. Elara and Darius are bland and generic, they’re supposed to be enemies but they’re never really antagonistic, in fact Darius is instantly almost in love with her. I also had no idea what time period this was supposed to be in, the idea of kingdoms and witches being put to death seems antiquated but then they stay in a hotel, not an inn.
There were several elements that did not quite make sense. For an aggressively anti-witch kingdom, Elara somehow has multiple “customers” and is never discovered. No one questions her sudden announcement as future bride, there is no wedding or coronation mentioned, and her interactions with the staunchly anti-witch royal parents—who have executed other witches—are treated as a non-issue. Elara’s background is also largely missing: she lives in isolation, knows no other witches beyond vague rumours, and we learn nothing about how she ended up there. All the things that should be problems just disappear - Cassandra doesn’t care she isn’t going to be queen, the anti-witch parents are neatly dealt with in one sentence in the epilogue, Darius’s best friend is mentioned initially but never makes an appearance. Even the curse, Alaric tells them it isn’t actually real, but still gives them a way to break it - if there’s no curse, why would they be discussing how to break it?
This is a quick, instalove, magic-adjacent read, unfortunately I found it fell a bit flat and could have benefited from more thought and development.

Fairy Retelling? “She’s recently announced that Prince Darius is on the market and hopes to hear word from anyone of noble blood ‘willing to put up with her scoundrel of a son.’ ”
Ever since I read the exceedingly long *Dead Witch Walking *series, I have wanted another potion witch story. The idea of brewing potions with strange ingredients and having a power that takes time to create, is exciting. Potions have built-in disadvantages.
Even more exciting is a Cinderella remake with a potion witch. Elara lives in a kingdom that is on a witch hunt while people surreptitiously buy her potions. Thus, she hides in place, and her only outside news is brought in by her ingredient-finder, Rosi. Rosalynne is also her Head of Intelligence.
After the prince rejects yet another noble lady, that lady, Cassandra, decides to take matters into her own hands and hire Elara to visit him and give a potion that will ““Spell him so that the next person he touches is bound to him for the rest of his life.” There are so many holes in this request. The one that is most obvious is that whoever he touches may be ‘bound’ in some way, but there is no obligation for the prince. None. The second most-obvious is that Elara would be more likely to hire her friend Rosi to do the deed than go to the heart of the Kingdom of Genocide herself. But I like Lady Cassandra a lot. She turns the idea of “witch’ on its head. Who is the witch here when revenge is her goal?
Two spicy scenes tacked on. Short Story. Well-written (yeah, unfortunately, I have to mention the writing style in the age of derivative stories and dumbed-down writing).
Cursed in Love by Alexa Ashe is an intoxicating blend of forbidden romance, dangerous magic, and enemies-to-lovers tension that crackles with chemistry. From the moment our witchy protagonist’s love spell backfires spectacularly, binding her to Crown Prince Darius—the very man who should want her dead—I was completely hooked.
The dynamic between these two is everything I love in a romance: reluctant attraction, forced proximity, and a deliciously slow-burning tension that makes every moment between them feel electric. Darius isn’t just the enemy; he’s a man with his own burdens, and as the curse pulls them closer, the layers of deception begin to unravel, revealing truths neither of them is ready for.
As much as I love a good magical mishap, what truly shines here is the emotional depth. The heroine’s struggle between self-preservation and the undeniable pull toward Darius is so well done, making their journey feel all the more intense. With high stakes, simmering passion, and a mystery surrounding the curse itself, this book kept me turning the pages well past midnight.
If you love stories with witches, cursed love, and the kind of romance where the characters should be enemies but fate has other plans, Cursed in Love is a must-read.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – A spellbinding, heart-racing fantasy romance you won’t want to put down!.
If you’re craving a short but utterly enchanting enemy-to-lovers tale, Cursed in Love by Alexa Ashe is a spell you’ll happily fall under. This story has everything: a reclusive witch with a sassy streak, a charming prince who might just deserve his bad reputation, and a revenge spell that, predictably, goes spectacularly wrong.
Elara, our sweet yet sharp-tongued witch, finds herself in quite the magical mess when her spell to curse the dashing Prince Darius backfires—on her. Cue a cascade of hilarity, heartwarming surprises, and some truly delightful banter between these two unlikely sparring partners. Alexa Ashe’s knack for witty dialogue shines, and the chemistry between Elara and Darius crackles like a potion just waiting to bubble over.
But beyond the banter and laugh-out-loud moments, this story also tackles the deeper themes of prejudice, vengeance, and redemption. Ashe keeps it elegant, balancing lighthearted humor with genuine emotion and character growth.
Cursed in Love is a quick read that doesn’t skimp on charm, heart, or magic. If you’re in the mood for a bewitching tale with a touch of sass and a lot of heart, this one’s for you.
I received an Advanced Reader Copy and am voluntarily reviewing it. This book is fairly short. Elara Nightshade is a witch that lives in exile. Coming forward would cause trouble. The kingdom that Elara resided in wanted to eradicate all witches. Elara tried her best to stay off of their radar. She did have a few customers. She made a decent living and was content with her way of life. She never went into town though. She could not take the risk.
It was time for Prince Darius to find a wife. Unfortunately, he was not on board with it. He finally got on the wrong side of one too many debutantes vying for his affection. This debutante could not understand his rejection and vowed to get him back. She went to Elara to have her create a potion to make the Prince fall in love with her. Something goes wrong. The Prince now has his sights set on Elara. Will the kingdom accept a witch? Elara and the Prince concoct a plan to keep the kingdom from knowing that she is a witch. Now they have to figure out how to get rid of the connection. Can they get rid of the connection or is there something more between them? This quick book will take readers on an adventure.
Cursed in Love is fantastically written, well balanced and beautifully executed by Alexa Ashe. Alexa Ashe continues to prove what a remarkable author, storyteller and writer she is with each book that I have had the pleasure to read by her. Cursed in Love is the story of Darius and Elara who are interesting and intriguing at the same time. I couldn’t get enough of Darius and Elara’s remarkable story. I absolutely did NOT want to set this book down until I read the last page. This book is absolutely entertaining and enjoyable to read. I absolutely love that Darius and Elara have a happily ever after with them being happy together. The characters are well developed and beautifully executed throughout the phenomenal story. The chemistry between Darius and Elara is undeniably irresistible to the point where neither one of them could no longer ignore the pull between them. I would absolutely recommend this amazing book for anyone to checkout and give it a read. I’m looking forward to reading more amazing romances from Alexa Ashe in the future.

It was OK, though I really didn’t get a sense of what the world is like. Except the kingdom’s anti-witch, but even that is a vague threat in the background that somehow doesn’t feel that dangerous. There’s a lot that’s told instead of shown, but I expected a fair amount of that, as short as the book is. It could have been easily 100-150 pages long, just by expanding on some of the interactions between Darius and Elara and describing the most basic things (like the rooms they’re in) in any detail.
A story where prejudice has no place. Elara is a witch who lives a very quiet life selling potions to locals when needed. Darius is the prince whose parents and grandparents have hunted and killed witches for generations. Darius is being forced to marry but gets to choose his bride and one of the rejected ones goes to Elara for a potion. Things don't go according to plan and Elara ends up with the prince. An entertaining page-turner.

Is a short novella. That ran quickly. I really enjoyed the story. I wished that story was longer... I didn't want to finish 😫 but I did... I devour it in some hours. I love Darius isn't a superficial Prince and Elara is a sweet witch 🧙♀️scare to be catch and killed.. so she barely goes out of her house. She never imagined that her life will suddenly change with one of her magical potions. 📖 ♥️
A novella for fans of spicy romantasy with modern-day casual language.
It felt a little quick for me how the characters go from enemies to friends; lots of tell without the showing their relationship forming. I loved the little scenes we did get between them, where Elara and Darius discussed their pasts. Darius is surprisingly cinnamon roll! It would make a great full-length novel for fans of the genre.
Prince Darius needs a wife, a future queen but no one appeals until Elara. She has her own agenda but fate may have its own plan in store.
This is a short and pretty sweet fantasy romance. There's a little drama and some humour in it. Easy reading with a really good ending. I loved Elara she's brilliant and sassy. The writing is descriptive and kept me reading. A fun fantasy romance short story.
Elara a witch sells tinctures and tonics her friend goes to the city to bring her ingredients she couldn’t go herself because if any witch is found they are killed. Prince Darius is now on the market thanks to his mother and noble women are so boring but all that changes when Elara casts a spell and accidentally bonds herself to Darius. There is so much more going on in this fantastic short story I loved it and I highly recommend reading this book.
I really enjoyed reading this fantasy romance novella. I read this novella in one day as it had me hooked and is a quick read. The story is excitingly written and I really liked the characters. The novella is written from the point of view of Elara and Darius, which allows you to get to know the characters really well, despite the brevity of the novella.

Cursed in Love was a quick, fun enemies-to-lovers read with a magical twist. I really liked Elara—she’s strong, mature, and her banter with Darius was super enjoyable. The chemistry worked, even if the worldbuilding felt a bit light and some parts were more told than shown.
Still, it had charm, heart, and enough sass to keep me hooked. I just wish it had been a little longer to flesh things out more. Great if you’re in the mood for something short, sweet, and spellbound.
This is a very lovely novella, it has a wonderful plot, I enjoyed the characters especially the mfc and her friends friendship, I love the storyline, the romance is very cute, the whole premise of the story and the sassiness in areas is a very fun part of the book. I only have one complaint and that is that I would love to read more of the story. Overall I really enjoyed the book.

While about the length of a novella and meant to be read as a cute short story, I found myself longing for much more of the details that were left out in favor of spanning a longer time span. The plot is good and I would have loved to be able to see what was written expanded upon as a full length novel.
Still a super cute quick read with a little bit of spice.
Loved it! Such an intriguing storyline- grabbed my attention immediately! Elara and Darius took me on an adventure full of twists and turns. Fate has a way of intervening! Thoroughly enjoyed this charming book! Put it on your “must read” list!.

OMG this beautifully written story is a must read. Darius and Elara are fated to be together. Elara was asked to put a spell on Darius by a greedy Lady Cassandra only for it to backfire on Cassandra. Bringing about the best love story ever. Alexa is a wonderful author. I totally love reading her books and highly recommend them.
Elara is a witch in hiding. The King and Queen have ordered all witches to die. They are all evil. Darius is the prince and his mom the Queen is trying to marry him off. All the women he meets are just bobbleheads. Until he meets Elara, then all bets are off.

A short, quick enemies to lovers romance. Of course, this one is between a witch and a prince. I found myself pulled into the story and really hoping the two of them would find happiness. This story is well written and I really enjoyed the way these two became “soul bonded” to each other.
There is something that took me a bit to get comfortable in this story. I realized after a few pages it's the POV. Elara is a bit unusual and very internal, so being in her head took me a minute to get used to. But I really enjoyed her as a character and the story overall was great with a lot of depth for the length.
I very much enjoyed this quick read. It’s just a smidge Cinderella but mostly very original. The characters are all likable and their journey towards love works. There is a couple pacing challenges due to it first being published as an anthology. It’s not overly obvious. So good! -Jorja Rae (independent author).

This Romance Story has a steamy Enemies to Lovers Romance, unique characters and well-constructed world. It is a full-length, standalone book with a happily ever after and no cliffhangers. It has many twists, turns, forbidden love, spice and love.
Well this was a fun novella to read. A prince from a witch hating family.. a witch hating the royal family for killing her family.. it all spirals out of control and everything turns upside down. I really quite enjoyed this it’s certainly got some spice too. Thank you for the chance to review this
