The residents of Folly Gate are hiding secrets. But does a new witch have what it takes to uncover them?
I am facing a shadowy past I never knew existed. And when an unexpected inheritance from my estranged aunt brings me back from London to my childhood home on the moors, the truth I have unwittingly been escaping my whole life may be what keeps me here -- forever. But as dark family secrets come to light, I find myself drawn in by the mysterious residents of Folly Gate and accept an invitation to a candle lighting party… only to be caught up in a wine-chilling murder.
And after I accidently stumble across a mysterious book hidden in my recently departed aunt’s library, I team up with her enigmatic cat, her two witchy best friends and my newly acquired wands, not knowing I would soon discover there is more to the magic of the small town and my family than I had been led to believe. Can I unravel my family’s past? Only time will tell. Or will the centuries-old secrets of my family and the town remain with my bewitching aunt… dead and buried?
‘Wands and Wine’ is the intriguing first book in the ‘Merry Meet’ paranormal cozy mystery series. If you like your magic served with a slice of banoffee pie and a cable-knitted blanket, then you’ll love Luna Martin’s enchanting tale. Curl up with ‘Wands and Wine’ today. Folly Gate is expecting you!
I live in Devon, UK, where mysteries are a large part of county history. When I am not writing, I enjoy walks with my husband and much-loved dog throughout the Devonshire, Cornish and Welsh countryside. I also love baking bread and delicious cakes, spending time in the garden and anything else that makes a house a home.
This was a great book! The author wove together a fascinating story and world of witchery with many different characters and scenarios. The cat Jasper became her familiar and protector and was a fascinating character. I look forward to reading the next one in the series.

'Wands and Wine' by Luna Martin was an enjoyable read. The new witch, Daisy, is left a candle shop and a cottage by her aunt. As the story unfolds, Daisy discovers that her aunt has left her so much more, somethings magical. A really good start to the Merry Meet series. I'm anxious to read more.
This is a story of a girl learning she is a witch. Regardless of her scepticism, she finds herself to truly be a witch. As she begins to experience what it means to really be a witch, her powers grow by leaps and bounds!
This was a very intriguing cozy. I literally could not put this book down. Daisy and Jacket are quite a pair. If you like a book that is not your stereotypical cozy this is it.
Good storyline. This book reads like you are having a conversation with someone. It was a nice free book. I like books about witches. This was a “cozy read”. Particularly liked the ending.
I read this while staying in a shepherds hut in Devon. Pure luck that it was set in the area but with a fire keeping me warm and the sound of rain on the windows, reading this made for an exceptional experience.
