Arrow has been there at the Citadel during DDLG playdates. He has seen the way Catie lost it over Emilee. But when Dax and Arrow find Emilee in her car behind the Rusty Crab, he can’t let her stay there, it is freezing cold and dangerous. He will offer her the opportunity to come to his house and use a guest room.
Emilee has worked hard over the last several years to become clean and productive. She and Catie had been best friends, taking care of each other. But the night Catie is kidnapped by the Cartel, she believes that Emilee stood back and just let it happen. The truth is, Emilee tried to get help, and in the process, was run down, and hospitalized, and no one would listen to her about Catie being kidnapped.
The story will bring Arrow and Emilee together. He makes a comment to Dax about not worrying about anything, ‘because she isn’t his type.’ Emilee finally agrees to accept Arrow's offer of a safe place for the night but is hurt by his comment. It isn’t long before these two enter a DDlg relationship. Emilee will test the waters of how far she can push Arrow, but he is firm and committed to the rules he lays down along with the consequences her actions will earn.
Overall, it is a good story, and I was glad to see Emilee’s side of what happened the night Catie was kidnapped. I hurt for her, trying to tell them what happened on her side of the issue, and yet Catie was so caught up in the nightmare she endured, that she wouldn’t even listen. In the end, they do find a way to make peace, it isn’t a friendship, but a mutual understanding.
Emilee's back story broke my heart. She was friends with Catie but that was a bad time of both of their lives. When she sees Emilee at the Club, it was heartbreaking to see how Catie treated her but she didn't know the whole story. And while I'm happy that Catie found her happily ever after, I was a bit pissed at how she treated Emilee. When Arrow takes Emilee under his wing, he discovers that she is the Little he's been waiting for. I enjoyed the fact that he took his time with her. Of course, you know he's going to dig into what happened to Emilee on that horrible night and man does he find out a lot. And while I liked the fact that Catie and Mia apologized for their behavior towards Emilee, my opinion of them has changed. Hopefully in future books, they will be better behaved. This story felt so real and I know that things like this happen in life so yeah, there was anger, being mad, being happy and while there wasn't as much "steamy" time, it was perfect the way it was. Beautifully written, this is one of my favorites that Ms. Gray has written. It has depth that makes the readers feel the emotions! Well done!
Loved this book. Arrow is drawn to Emilee, even though she's not "his type" and he actually comes right out and says this to her. Idiot. Thankfully, his stupid was short lived. He saw exactly what kind of person Emilee was and was happy to make her his. He never held her past against her or threw it up in her face. And, it turns into a good thing because she accepts his help thinking nothing can come of it. She's attracted to him but has a lot of negative self thoughts. I loved the progression and growth of her character in this story. I also really felt almost proud of Emilee to see how far she's come and the things she does to ensure that she stays clean and sober. I was really mad at the mean girl attitude I saw from some of the littles and was glad that finally got nipped in the bud. There was a lot going on with this story, even though it is stand alone it fits really well within the Vahalla/Spartan Watchmen universe. Great HEA for the couple and Emilee in particular with her new founds friends and family.
I wasn’t quite sure how the author would make us fall in love with Emilee, but I was so curious to find out. For me, she managed to make it happen in the opening pages. I was all in for a good redemption story, I just wasn’t expecting to see heroines I’d loved and cherished in previous books to behave in ways that made me doubt my earlier impressions of them. With Arrow, there was a little bit of flip-flopping in the beginning, and that left me questioning if I could invest in him as Emilee’s hero. Thankfully, he realized how special she was almost as quickly as I did. I loved this pair together. I appreciated the gentle, consistent way Arrow went about proving to Emilee that she would always be able to trust him. And watching her gift him with that trust was a thing of beauty. I already can’t wait to see what the author brings us next. I received a complimentary advance copy of this book from the author.
Arrow is a Spartan Watchman MC and former spec ops soldier. Emilee is a former drug user in rehabilitation or over 2 years. Caite was Emilee’s best friend before she was kidnapped. By the cartel.
Arrow and Emilee meet when he finds her sleeping in her car due to the mess her life was before. The story is about the aftermath of the kidnapping of Caite and how ir affects Emilee and Caite’s friendship because the whole story is not known. Arrow is in Emilee’s corner and takes her under his wing, eventually finds out the truth of what really happened and sets the record straight and gets justice.
This book has suspense, danger, intrigue and a chance at love.
I love this series. The men are so strong and dependable. I know that sounds ordinary, but it is what you want in a partner. This book deals with Emilee. She and Catie lived on the streets and were addicts. When Catie gets taken by the cartel, she blames Emilee, thinking that she did nothing. The truth is that a bad cop took advantage of her. Emilee works at her rehabilitation and is a recovering addict. I liked how the author showed that characters we have met before are not perfect and can be petty and standoffish. I enjoyed how the relationship between Arrow and Emilee grew and how Arrow stood by every promise he made. This was a great addition to the series.

Talk about heartbreak. Emilee is one strong character. You won't believe what she's been through, but she's still here and only wants what everyone else has, someone to love her. Arrow is all in, even though he said she was not his type. He did a 180 really quickly and went to bat for her. "My type is you." Loved this relationship and it was a wonderful story to be a part of. This book made me smile. Love this series and Valhalla as well.
Emilee had been introduced in Caties story. Now she falls under the protection if Arrow after being found living in her car. But she's not Arrow's type. This is a story of twists, turns, lies and deceit as well as steam, love, Littles, and finding truth. It was a satisfying story on so many levels. Must read if you are invested in this series. Marvelous writer.
This is the latest HEA story set in the Veterans of Valhalla world and although it can be read and enjoyed as a standalone, because there is an overreaching story arc it would be best read if you’re familiar with the characters and history.
I loved this story- the way Emilee has worked so hard on herself and the way that Arrow thinks he knows what he wants until he’s proven wrong.
This is a wonderful story about redemption and new beginnings.
I really felt sorry for Emilee and her backstory. Addiction is hard one to crawl back from. I so didn’t care for Catie though. Her comments were really rich. She was addicted to drugs just as much as the next person. I really enjoyed the story though as I thought Arrow was fair and loving. His punishments fit the crime which is extremely important to me. To me, Arrow was a true Daddy!
Arrow finds his Little when he rescues Emilee from sleeping in her car on a very cold night. Although I’ve read a couple of books about characters with the BDSM kink of a Daddy/Little arrangement, this book does a good job of explaining the lifestyle in such a way that it’s more understandable to someone who’s not at all familiar with it. Although that’s not something I could ever embrace, I somewhat get why it appeals to some people.
Emilee and Arrow’s story is a wonderful addition to this series. She’s trying to get her life back after dealing with drug addiction and betrayal. When their paths cross sparks fly and Arrow decides she’s definitely in need of a Daddy. How these two work through their relationship and deal with all the hurdles that life places in front of them is a great heartwarming read.
Arrow becomes Emilee's soft place to fall by; first believing her when no one else has; caring for and protecting her; setting ground rules and holding her accountable; and finally praising her. He loves her wholeheartedly. She's afraid to trust but Arrow proves to her in every way possible that he's a man of his word and her forever Daddy. Finally she feels worthy of being loved.
An emotional page turner, Arrow is an extremely well written, angsty and kinky romance full of feeling and unexpected twists. Characters with edge and real-life issues set an authentic atmosphere all the way through the book - which does an amazing job describing the ddlg dynamic concisely - taking it down to earth and making it very easy to relate to. This was one highly enjoyable read.
Arrow and Emilee meet when he sees her sleeping in her car. He gives her a place to stay in his empty bedroom. The story becomes a loving tell of a Daddy and his Little girl.
RJ Gray’s Spartan Watchmen MC’s continuing series always has a dabble of danger, some giggles and some Alpha Daddies in each book. You do need to read the first two books to understand all that has or is happening.
This was a very sweet book. Emily has had a rough time lately and Arrow is there just in time to make sure she gets what she needs to succeed. She's bold and sassy but exactly what he didn't know he was looking for. I enjoy the stories about the clubhouse and other characters from the series.
Emilee never have it easy in life is an understatement, her backstory really broke my heart. Arrow was drawn to Emilee immediately. Thier story has a bunch of action and suspense to it. It is wonderfully written with an amazing storyline/plot.
Love this book and it's series and would recommend it to anyone who loves to read about MC and DDLG life and their families and friends and the writer is awesome 👌
