Another school year is nearly at its end and that can't happen soon enough for Polly Giller. She loves having her kids at home.
You know that Polly shouldn't take walks by herself, no matter how much she needs the relief that only time with Obiwan will offer.
Beryl is worried about her friend, Andy, who is itching to get involved with another young woman. A couple moved into the house next door to Andy and Len, and the tales those walls could tell. Loud fights occur regularly, scaring Andy for the woman's life.
Come to find out, Beryl also has a stalker who has been emailing her for several years. She's blown it off, but things seem to be getting more serious. Rebecca is worried for her friend, which means Polly is soon to be involved.
Rebecca's end of the year art show, her birthday dinner in Des Moines, and her move home are experiences that are scary, exciting, and show how much she has grown up.
Changes are in store for Rebecca's friends, Polly's friends and family. You have to read it to believe it.
I picked up this series, I can't even remember how long ago now, but there were only 3, now there are 45! It's not Anna Karenina or anything lol, but if you want an easy, fun read, that is good for the soul, then this series knocks it out of the park! I haven't always enjoyed Polly's responses to certain situations, but here we are at book 45, and I'm still a fan. My one & only complaint is that the "mystery" component to the series has seemed rushed lately. It's as if the author forgot that this started out as a mystery series and ends up throwing in something really sloppy & quick so Polly can do her "dead body" thing. With so many characters & lives being added, it's understandable that it might be difficult to tell their stories and keep the original concept, but I hope the author will either return to focusing on making this a mystery series or ditch it altogether & focus on Polly and her family & friends. It's the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5. The mystery component of these stories has gotten really thin these last several books, and this one was downright awful. It took away from rather than added to the storyline.
I enjoyed Spending my day in Bellingwood! Diane tells the best stories. I don't want to say anything to spoil someone else's read ;-) If you haven't read the other books, do yourself a favor and start at the beginning!
As always a book I couldn't put down. I wait for each book to come out and then read it right away staying up way to late but can't put the book down. Now I will have to wait months for the next one. Lol. A body found, a stalker and a proposal. This series, each and every book takes me right into Bellingwood. I feel like Polly, Henry and everyone else are my friends. There is always anticipation, laughter and tears. If you haven't read the Helping wood series please give it a read. You won't be disappointed.
Rebecca is finishing up her junior year of college and is heading home for the summer. This is her 21st birthday. Also, Polly is throwing her a party. Beryl is hiring her for the summer to organize all of her life. She wants to work on some more of her work in her studio and doesn't have time for the "other" stuff. Polly goes for a walk and finds a body next door to her friends Andy and Len. She helps Tab find the killer with a friend from Boston. This is a really good read!!!
Diane Greenwood Muir is an automatic buy for me, and this addition to the Bellingwood series didn’t disappoint. It made me laugh, cry, feel nostalgic and grateful - and amazed as always at how the clues for the mysteries get pulled together and things are solved.
If you’ve not read the series, this will stand on its own - but you’ll enjoy it more after reading some more. The first few books are free, & they’re all available in Kindle Unlimited, enjoy!
I waited for this one, and it didn't disappoint! These books are my happy books...everyone needs a favorite author who writes books with just enough action, mystery, and who done it to keep things interesting, but keep the blood and gore out of it and then close it out with a happy ending. Diane is that author for me. Do yourself a favor and read this whole series.
I have read every book in this series from the beginning. All the stories are different even though they are all based on Bellingwood. I absolutely love all the characters that make up Pollys family and friends, there is always something happening and life is never boring in Bellingwood. This story was just as exciting to read as the first one. Can't wait until the next episode of Bellingwood life.
I do really enjoy these books, but I do that for more than just the day-to-day break out of communications with the kids. There used to be more of a mystery premise to the stories. That has begun to be less and less of the plot. While I enjoy the family and the friends and the daily lives info, I really wish the mystery portion of the books would come back. This one didn't seem to be part of the story, more a side-thought that happened to be solved at the last minute.
Ms Muir is my all time favorite author. And it's not because I'm a fellow Iowan, even though I've been to most towns/cities she's mentioned. (You haven't lived til you have had a tenderloin or maid rite.) I started this series maybe ten years ago and each book is better better than the last. I guarantee you'll love Polly and her friends. Who wouldn't want to have a friend like her? Read them all, you'll see. Ms Muir and Polly rock!!
Diane Greenwood Muir is an amazing author. In her Bellingwood books she has created a community of characters we would all love to call our neighbors...without, perhaps, all the murders Polly uncovers. One part cozy mystery and one part family/ friend relationships, her books are the sort that can't help but be read in one sitting.
I love all the Bellingwood books and I don’t understand how Dianne manages to write each one to be better than the one before, but this one is the best one yet. Start at the beginning and read them all. These are some of the only books that I’ll read twice through, because once is not enough.
I love how Henry and Lilly's family all support each other. Imlike.hoe.Ray has found a home in Bellingwood and is trying to.get his friend and coworker, Tanya to settle Bellingwood also. The stories.just keep getting better and better. I like how Rebecca and her friends all.help!each other.
Diane has once again come through with another great read. She has such a talent for putting you in the heart of Iowa and allowed to live that life for a short time. She makes the reader feel right at home with Polly and all the folks she’s involved with. Her stories are where we all wish we could live, if only for a short period.
I love this series of books. Sometimes it's hard to keep all the characters straight, especially the children in Polly and Henry's family. Then you add all their friends and their kids. I'm still waiting on Jon and Ray's mama to visit and fall in love with Bellingwood
Diane's latest was simply perfect! Diving into a Bellingwood book is like a visit home hanging out with dear friends. You can't help but love the dash of mystery that always gets solved at the perfect time woven into the ongoing tapestry of small town/big family life.
I don't know how Diane does it but every book keeps me on the edge of my seat!! She makes you feel like you are part of Polly's family. I've read every book and followed the kids through their trauma and nightmares and watched Polly and Henry love them through it.
I love every book in this series. Always something new going on. More people to add to the bunches of regulars. If there has to be a dead person every book at least this time it was hard to care that he was dead. Now we are doing graduations and weddings, lots of fun stuff. Can't wait for the next book.
I never imagined when I read my first Bellingwood book so many years ago that I would be reviewing #45 today! Each new book shares the everyday life of Polly and her "family". Can't wait to see what happens next! Thank you Diane Greenwood Muir for writing books that we can enjoy and recommend to our sisters and mothers!
Another great story...when you find a book, that makes you laugh and cry..Feel all emotions.. that book is a keeper..but when a series does that..o.m.g. that's one that gets read time and again.. try Diane Greenwood Muir... Bellingwood series .. you'll be glad you did.
Diane hit it out of the park again! It's so much fun seeing all of the kiddos finding themselves and growing up. It amazes me that after 45 books and counting, I'm still just as excited when a new book in the series comes out! Diane's characters are family and we love every minute of time spent in Bellingwood!❤
Spring is my favorite time of year, with all the different shades of green, everything waking up! This story was pretty awesome for new beginnings for a few characters and I look forward to seeing their stories develop 😍 Thank you Diane for sharing your friends with us.
Bellingwood keeps getting better! I wish I lived there! Growing up, moving out, moving in, new businesses, new people, combined with Polly & Henry , their families, their friends, their community! Diane Greenwood Muir is an amazing storyteller!
Lots of hugs and surprises, sleuthing and solutions, awaited us this time. I liked all the side stories in this one, new folks coming into Bellingwood, and love stories (not really new romances but depths of love in friends and family).
May be imagination but this book would be better described as what's in Polly's head. There was very little interaction with others beyond Polly acknowledging them.
I am amazed with Diane’s books each one gets better. Won’t tell the story don’t want to spoil it for anyone just say Polly does not disappoint in her new adventure. Her books are easy to read and you will want to continue to find out what happens next with her family and friends. Enjoy! .
Going back to Polly's world is an experience I wait impatiently for. I can't wait for a book to come out and yet when I finish it I am sad because the waiting begins again.
As always, Diane Greenwood Muir has treated us to a visit to Bellingwood that makes a reader feel like they are visiting with dear friends. The writing is wonderful with character development, action, emotion provoking events, and the wish for the book to go on.
If you haven't started reading this series I highly recommend you do. There is drama and fun and family. Yes. This is book 45! I've read every one and the short stories too. Oh and the author is a great person.
Author Diane Muir is genius at creating and growing characters who become friends to the reader! I miss them when I'm not reading about them and feel like I am there experiencing all that they do when I am!
