A legally-blind man in an abusive relationship finds hope in a burly bear with a heart of gold.
BRADFORD
Six years ago, I lost my mother, my eyesight, and my career within the space of months. Things only started to look up when my guide dog, Brendan, came bounding into my life. Then, just as I was getting back on my feet, I met Jarrod. His fiery personality drew me in from the start, but eventually he turned it against me. Nowadays, I live in constant fear that his nastiness may soon turn to violence. Nobody can know about this, though. There’s no way I'd be able to deal with that kind of shame and embarrassment. The only saving grace is that Jarrod’s insisted on an open relationship. With him out on the hunt most of the time, I can breathe easier.
BRUNO
I love my partner, but after twenty years together, he’s more of a best mate than a better half. When our sex life died, we decided to open up our relationship. It worked for a long time, but lately we’ve drifted even further apart. I want so much more from life, but at nearly fifty, I’m starting to believe my ship has sailed. And then I meet Bradford…
From the very first night I spotted that gorgeous little teddy bear being harassed at a bar, I wanted to save him. The more time I spend with him, though, I realise there’s no saving my heart. I can’t stand the nightmare I see whenever I look into his restless eyes, but the last thing I want to do is saddle an abused man with an ultimatum. He already has a bully. What I want to give him is love.BRADFORD, BRU AND BRENDAN TOO is a hurt/comfort romance featuring size difference, possessive/protector, disability rep, and service animals. Please note this book contains themes of domestic abuse, coarse language and violence.
Colin Dereham is a Lambda Literary Award finalist who lives in country New South Wales, Australia, with his bf, bff, two very spoilt Italian greyhounds, and his gorgeous Seeing Eye dog, Yuja. After careers as an opera singer and an LGBT, mental health and community nurse, Colin decided to put his lit degree to use and start writing.
When he’s not holed up in his office squinting at a fifty-five inch monitor, Colin likes reading contemporary gay fiction, eating out, and being taken for long walks around the lake by Yuja.
Colin writes about bears and otters, the furry blokes in the gay community. His works are gritty kitchen sink dramas with happy endings of both kinds: frank and detailed erotic scenes; and uplifting, romantic conclusions.
This book is not what I was expecting from the blurb, and I mean that in the best way possible. You are prepared for some angst from these men moving to a new life, but oh boy, you are not prepared for the fire that happens in between. The dichotomy is pure magic from ever tender moments of these two men falling in love even when they may not be ready to when the fire engulfs them into some of the hottest scenes I've read in a long while. Colin has pulled off the masterful art of erotica with true emotional pain and feelings the gut you. When the breaking point hits be prepared, it is rough but oh so beautiful once all is concluded. These two men's families meld brilliantly once they are able to be in the others orbits where you know everyone will thrive. Truly brilliant work, I'm so glad he took the leap in combining these two genres to show that it is possible to write erotica with pure emotions.
I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I started this story. What I got was such a beautiful story about two strong, caring men, trying to figure out their feelings for not just each other, but also how they feel about their distant partners.
The way Colin wrote this was done so beautifully! You could absolutely tell that this book takes place in Australia with all of the background details, along with the dialect of the characters themselves. I found it quite interesting reading both Bru and Bradford's POV, I even learned some new Aussie words! I thought the pacing was really unique, Bradford and Bru meet pretty early on in the story and engage in steamy times right off the bat. But what makes the pacing different is it wasn't insta-love and just because they met and hooked up right away, doesn't mean that things happened too fast. I loved how Colin had them meet early on, then over time the MC's spent more time together, going on dates which led to them getting to know one another better, then gradually growing stronger feelings for one another. I loved how their relationship developed and how that was written.
I also really enjoyed each of the characters, they each had their own exuberant personalities, even Brendan! (The dog Brendan, not Bru's ex-partner.) I thought the scenes where Bradford took care of Bru's nephews was so beautiful and heartwarming, he stepped up and took charge. He did what he could to help out Bru and his family during such a rough time. I thought that was really sweet and wholesome. I really appreciated how this story was written and how there is so much.. openness to it. For example; both MC's were in open relationships with someone and it wasn't working. Both men were hesitant to rock the boat because both were hesitant of change. Eventually overtime they both found their courage to do something about it because they were no longer happy with their partners, and just wanted to be happy with each other. I found that to be really beautiful, upon getting to know each other they both got the courage to end the relationship that wasn't working with their previous partners.
I also loved the amount of information we got about Bradford's deteriorating eyesight, and how he went about his life with having a pinhole of eyesight. I liked getting to learn all of that information. I really enjoyed this story and I hope you give it a chance. This was the first time I have read that has had both MC's in an open relationship and I thought it was written really beautifully.
5 ⭐️s!! I fell in love with these two bears and the dog immediately! This book made such an impact on me at so many different times. It explores insecurities, an abusive relationship, loneliness, friendship, longing for a healthy loving relationship and second chances. My heart broke for Bradford at times and then soared when he became the pillar Bru and his family were able to lean on. His near blindness and the struggles, challenges and victories really made me think about what so many people endure with lack of sight. I found myself relating to many of the emotions in the book along the way. Oh….. and The guide dog is a true blessing and hero!
DNF at 21% I was at 21% and I was very much enjoying this. But then I read the blurb (I know, I should have read it first), where it's said that the abuse gets worse, and a review from a friend who mentions sex group scene (that I despise). So I have to drop this... I'm so bummed because I was really enjoying both the writing and the characters.
My goodness, I was not expecting this story to have so many layers. This whole story brings so many levels of love, devotion and destruction to life. This story includes Bruno, and despite being a main character, the focus is on Bradford and how he navigates his life. He is registered blind, with limited vision, and has his absolute trusted companion, Brendan, his assistance dog. If you don't fall for Bradford, then Brendan will capture you. Bradford has a huge amount of angst in his kind gentle life and it is absolutely heartbreaking to watch and wait. The final spring released a monster and it is tough reading. Bradford doesn't want pity, but it is undeniable that you will feel sorry for him. Bruno is going through his own grief, but is still there for his love. Family plays a big role in this book, and the love and support is wonderful. Besides the angst and hurt there is also a fun story. Bradford, Bruno and Brendan go on so many days out and get to know more about each other each time. These little nuggets of information are then used to create further memories and mean so much to both of them. Their embraces were strong enough to embrace the reader too, I felt their love and admiration for one another. There is a level of spirituality involved and this gives high emotion even up to the end. This is an amazing example of 'own voice' writing. It highlights that you don't need to label the story as kinky just because it involves open relationships and has several other participants joining them. I did enjoy that particular shower scene and of course the shorty shorts that they would often wear; we are also treated to a Prince Albert and armpit licking. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This was such a fascinating story with relatable characters who were struggling to get by day to day.
Unique storytelling, told in such a way that I felt the gamut of emotions that Bradford and Bru went through on their journey. Brendan deserves a huge bone for being an integral part of their lives.
Colin excels in writing brilliantly emotional and gripping books, and this is no exception. The intimate scenes are amazing, but there is so much more to the story. Lots of real emotions, tenderness, and vulnerability but also immense anger and sadness, and an MC suffering in an escalating domestic abuse situation. There is an alternate photo cover in which Colin himself is one of the cover models, and the pictures are stunning.
This book unexpectedly hit me in the heart more times than I can count. From the middle-aged perspective of people in long-term relationships that just aren't working out, to the internal dialogue of a person who's been emotionally abused, to the incredibly natural and easy-flowing dialogue and prose, this sweet romance hit all the right beats for me. (It's also VERY smutty and filled with sex from top to bottom [ehehe]. These guys have got it BAD for one another from the get-go.)
Both Bradford and Bruno are absolute sweethearts, and I treasured the way that the way the relationship progressed felt so natural, as well as their supportive and genuine relationship all the way through the book. All of the drama is external, and that was so important to me.
The only reason this one doesn't get full marks for me is because of the unexpected supernatural aspect. While I understand that it's meant to be poignant - and it was - it also felt out of place and took me out of the story more than once. I don't know if it was meant to be more symbolic rather than literal, but it didn't quite come off that way. I don't think it detracts from the book overall--just didn't work for me.
This was my first book from this author, and I will absolutely pick up another in the future.
Bradford, Bru and Brendan Too is part of the Bondi Bears series. Each book can be read as a standalone but why not enjoy the whole series. This is Bradford and Bruno's story. Please read the trigger warnings before starting this book. This book what's really good. I enjoyed the characters and world building. I loved the sweet dog Brendan too. I would definitely recommend this book and series.
This is my first book written Colin Dereham - but I’m definitely going to read more from this author. BRADFORD, BRU AND BRENDAN TOO deals with some tough topics - like being almost blind and a really bad boyfriend. But it also a story about how a chance meeting can change your life, if you have the courage to embrace it. The characters feel so real and their relationship develops organically and so beautifully. I cried so hard for Bradford and what he has to go through. His happiness is hard fought and he deserves it. This is a story that stays with me - it really leaves an impression.
BRADFORD, BRU AND BRENDAN TOO is a hurt/comfort romance featuring size difference, possessive/protector, disability rep, and service animals. Please note this book contains themes of domestic abuse, coarse language and violence.
This book was a beautiful love story! Once I started I could not put it down! It was a refreshing view of family, finding real love as an older person, and fighting life together. Now, the spice was spicen’ so don’t think it was just all heart eyes but the passion was real. Great job! Highly recommend.
I loved this book from start to finish. What a wonderful story of finding true love. Bradford has to go through some tough times to finally get his happy ever after. Once he meets Bruno he realizes the relationship he is currently in is pretty toxic. Now he just needs to find a way out. I love the inclusion of Bradfords seeing eye dog Brandon..the story just wouldn’t be the same without him. Pick up this book and devour it like I did.
Bradford and Bruno's story was intriguing and well written. I truly enjoyed their story, there is heartache, some domestic abuse so please read for triggers...over all the plot and storyline flowed nicely and you have to love that adorable chemistry..the passion between them. The twists I didn't see coming, and of course there is Brendan...can't forget about him!
Bradford, Bru and Brendan Too (Bondi Bears) Colin Dereham
Bradford lost his mother and his eye site, he has a wonderful companion dog Brandon with him he's able to get around by the way the leash and his body moves. It gives him freedom to get out of his apartment and go hiking, or just to the local store. He has a partner that drains him of all his patience. Bruno has a partner where they get along well, just no sparks are left just a friendship/ relationship. One night Bradford and Bruno meet and start talking and find a click in their conversation and they have history together from another time. This book will take you by surprise, you have humor, sadness, happy and then crying your eyes out for wanting to just hold them both at their troubled times, then you add on erotica to the storyline and what a surprise how it can all be blended so well together. This book I highly recommend
Bradford, Bru and Bendan Too by Colin Dereham is the second book I read from this author and I’ve loved it! It has been an awesome and touching read. I’ve shed tears and felt my heart in knots many times throughout this book. I’ve felt so deeply for Bradford that I wished I could have been there to hug him and show him he is loved. I wanted to tell him that, eventually, time heals and things do get better. Bradford is one of the most heart-wrenching characters I’ve encountered in a long time, and his struggles stayed with me long after I finished reading.
Bradford’s story is deeply emotional. He lost his mother and his sight in a short period of time. He’s also trapped in an abusive relationship. Bradford and his partner, Jarrod, have an open relationship, but it’s usually his partner who hooks up with other men.
Bradford meets Bruno just after having an argument with Jarrod in a bar. Bruno witnesses how Jarred treats Bradford and he goes to him to be sure he’s OK. Bruno is a gentle giant with a heart of gold. They have a special connection since the moment they set eyes on each other and what was supposed to be a one-night stand evolves into something truly special. Bruno becomes his best friend and he can deeply rely on him. They soon are head over heels for each other, but because of their partners, they don’t dare stepping further.
“Time is precious and with you it’s… this is forever for me.” “I’ve wanted this since the first night we spent together.”
Brendan, Bradford’s guide dog, is a wonderful character, too. He is his most loyal friend. Having had myself a yellow lab, I loved getting to know him.
Reading this emotional rollercoaster, one is reminded of the strength we can find in love and the courage it takes to start over. I highly recommend it.
This book deals with some sensitive themes such as domestic abuse and assault, both respectful and realistic. Be aware of them.
I received an ARC from the author for free, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.
4.5 ⭐️ Seriously! What is it with Colin and his writing style??? He just hooks me right in! And always bring all the feels 🥹😭
I loved the characters so much! Bradford won my heart from the start, broken and living in an abuse relationship, but still managed to stay positive and look for the best things in life 💛 Bruno, gentle and kind, knew what he wanted from the start. I love how he treated Bradford and how they fell in love, even if they didn’t plan to 💛
As always Colin also bring all the filthy, dirty smut! He doesn’t hold back, and I love that. It’s raw, gritty and pantymelting hot!!! 🫦
Beautiful ending 💛 I just simply can’t recommend his books enough 💛
This book was unique for me and I thought I might get through it--the writing itself is wonderful! As are the characters!--because I went in knowing about it, I was okay with the initial open relationships, so long as all action remained between the newly met Bradford and Bru, and I thought it might, but...then we reach the If that won't ruin it for you though, I heartily recommend this book, it seems beautifully written, including terrific character development and lovely, poignant scenes of intimacy, for those less OTP (One True Person) than I! I bet it has a wonderful outcome. I just...can't unsee that part. Ugh, I'm weird.
[I received an ARC for an honest review.] Rating: 4.75 stars (9.5/10) Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Tropes: FWB to lovers, open relationship, older MCs, abusive relationship, legally blind, the sweetest guide dog, Italian family, a little kinky Review: I went into this not knowing what to expect, and I ended up absolutely loving it. There are so many great aspects to this book. Bradford is a legally blind bear of a man in an open relationship with an abusive partner, and after a confrontation with his partner at a bar where he was trying to pick someone up, Bruno sweeps in to check on him, and their chemistry ignites from the get-go. Bruno is also in an open relationship as the sexual chemistry between him and his partner died a sad death years ago. Bradford and Bruno have a scorching night together, and they are both very reluctant to leave, and so they keep seeing each other and opening up to each other until their lives begin intertwining. But they both are in positions that they want out of, and they need to make some changes to their lives to end up where they want to be.
First of all, I loved the blindness rep, and the many ways we see how Bradford has to go about all of his daily tasks and the world around him with only about 10% of his vision. Brendan, his guide dog, is the sweetest dog ever, and I absolutely adored seeing Bruno and his family love on him. There is a TW for , so please be careful of that. I also loved the ways that Bruno was helpful and supportive of Bradford, but on the other side of the equation, I hated how Jarrod took advantage of Bradford's disability, from small things like taking him permits to causing scenarios where Bradford was very likely to get hurt or injured because of his lack of sight. I don't know whether all of Jarrod's issues were because he was losing himself to drugs, or if he was a dick from early on but hid it behind charm, because at first he did seem to genuinely like Bradford, but I'm kind of glad it's never speculated, because his circumstances do not excuse his actions.
I also adored Bruno's family. I have an extended Italian family and I just loved the warm feelings I got reading about the parties and extended family and the great times they had together. Near the end, I also loved the way Bradford was there for the family as things occurred, and how he integrated himself so effortlessly in their lives, which Bruno's partner had never really tried before. I also loved Bradford's sister and brother-in-law, as well as his brother-in-law's brother and partner, there was so much lovely family throughout the story. Also, the moments when Bradford's mum would speak to him in visions or whatever way he interpreted it, was really tender and touching, and I loved some of the advice she had for him.
The care and tenderness between Bruno and Bradford was so lovely. Bradford struggles with shame around the fact he is being abused, but Bruno is there for him constantly, letting him know that he is a safe space for Bradford to open up to, but not pushing him too hard. And Bradford is such a kind, gentle soul, the ways he reciprocates the love and care so brightly back to Bruno was beautiful. I loved many of the moments they spent out (and not consuming each other) being together and living life together - they were honestly a great example of embracing life and love later in life, and I was just so happy that they had each other for that. And of course, we can't talk about these two without bringing up their sizzling chemistry. Whoo boy, I was sweating reading some of the things they got up to. This book definitely feels like it was written for the gay male gaze, and I really appreciated the different tone when it came to sex and sexuality. There is probably some language in here that people might not enjoy, but it definitely feels authentic and I just gobbled it up. I adored the ways they were both obsessed with the scent of each other, the amazing amount of rimming and the detail in the descriptions of it, the ways they lived and breathed in their bodies, from their hairy pits to their balls and asses, basically they were feral for each other and lick and sucked and fucked any and every part of each other, and I lived for it. The scene after the soccer game was completely unexpected but I absolutely ate it up! I highlighted so many of the moments in their sex scenes because I just felt like it was exactly what I love to read and I find it so hard to have characters or books where they so consistently enjoy each other in the way these two did. I LOVE a good hairy bear of a man, and these two were HOT together and by themselves. I don't think I'll ever be over the smut in this, and since it's the third in a series about bears of Bondi, I know I can get some more delicious servings of it later too 🤤🤤 but yeah, this was a sweet, angsty, and scorching hot book, and I was completely obsessed with it and them. Plus the ending was absolutely perfect, I don't think I've come across that in a book before and it was hilarious but also really sweet. I hope we get to see more of these two and beautiful Brendan in future stories! Please check it out, it was such a good read!
Oh, you got me fucked up if you think I wasn’t an inglorious mess throughout this book. The emotions were visceral. I was here for ALL OF IT.
And Brendan. I am his biggest fan. The goodest good boi to ever be a goodest good boi. Don’t tell Pop Tart I said that. He has the Too Much gene, and it won’t go well.
MINI NECESSARY SPOILER: NO ETERNAL HARM COMES TO THE MOST PRECIOUS BB. You’re welcome. This is not a Neverending Story moment.
The development and growth of these guys, from their pasts to their presents, were phenomenal. The detail and consideration that went into every piece of the puzzles that were Bru and Bradford were rich and complex and full of moving parts for razzle-dazzle. Metaphorically, naturally, because they all had purpose, created and placed by careful design. It was a beautiful dance of moods, as well, moving between elation and devastation, desire and revulsion, peacefulness and feral rage. There was literally an entire, hyper-realistic gamut being run.
This is what I’m fucking here for. This is the kind of contemporary gay romance I’m looking for. This is what I want to read when I’m looking for a (mostly) realistic and honest love story. I want it to ruin my goddamn life and make me side-eye Nigel for not being a Top Shelf Book Boyfriend.
Idk. I guess I don’t need to… He’s pretty cool. He could be a Brie. Lord knows he doesn’t background check his friends… probably fucking SHOULD, but that’s not my business or journey. If he wants a buddy who hunts with a crossbow in the middle of the golf course downtown in broad daylight, who am I to deny him?🥴🤡
5/5. Immaculate vibes, no notes. And ain’t it always a damn “J” out there doing The Most to be abhorrent? Fucking Jarrod.
I've read Colin Dereham's books before, and there was one thing I knew for certain. This book would have heart, love, and authenticity, as well as grunty, hairy, hot sex between the protagonists.
They were just going to be friends with benefits, as they both had partners (stay with me - they WEREN'T CHEATING) Partners were on board with other lovers and had them as well. This is NOT about poly bad/monogamy good, but a fact of life for a lot of gay couples, and not the point of the story.
Bradford is blind in one eye and losing sight in his other, and needs Brendan, a cute service dog, to help him get around. There is great representation in this book of the kind of challenges blind people face, without the book turning into a lecture. Bradford's live-in boyfriend, Jarrod, is becoming increasingly toxic, thanks to a dependency on drugs, and Bradford doesn't want Bruno (Bru) to know because he doesn't want to depend on him.
Bruno is a lovable bear who quickly becomes besotted with Bradford. His relationship with his partner is amicable and increasingly platonic, and he can't help thinking about Bradford, who he meets in a gay club for supposedly one night stand.
I won't say anymore, other than this is a story about two big men with big hearts gradually falling for each other, whilst having sweaty, grunty, raw sex and going for picnics with Brendon (the dog) There's a sun-soaked Australian setting, and a few terms US readers might not understand but don't let that put you off. The sex is copious, but this is a nuanced love story with family at its heart, and you just want to be in their world and give them a big hug.
Bradford, Bru, and Brendan Too by Colin Dereham was such a great story. I was hesitant to pick it up due to the open relationships at the beginning of the book, but I am so glad that I did. I would have missed out on a swoony romantic story if I had allowed my preconceived notions to win.
Bradford is a legally-blind man who doesn’t go anywhere without his guide dog, Brendan. His relationship with Jarrod is fizzling and bordering on abusive. They have an open relationship and are not really intimate with each other any more. Bruno is also in an open relationship with his Brendan (I found it hilarious that Bruno’s boyfriend and Bradford’s dog had the same name). Bradford and Bru meet at a Bear night at the local bar and are immediately drawn to each other. Pretty much from that moment on, we get to see them fall in love.
I loved everything about both of these men. I wish that Bradford had confided in Bruno a little bit earlier about Jarrod’s abuse, but I completely understand why he did not. These two were just perfect for each other and I feel honored that I got to read this story.
The incident at about 80% about broke me though. I was in tears and heartbroken. I don’t want to give too much away, but the ending was just wonderful. I loved seeing Bradford’s mom (who had passed away years before) show up when he needed her most. Her advice and love clearly showed through.
I know that I will read this story many times. I highly recommend it though it would be good to heed the TWs.
I received an ARC from the author for my honest review
Bradford, Bru and Brendan Too - Sarà perché ti amo
Bradford, Bru and Brendan Too - Sarà perché ti amo
‘My nose breathes him in. His scent, his wonderful scent, that blissful, intangible gift that I gorge myself on, no matter what part of his body I’m lucky enough to bury my face against. This man that I love so much it makes me want to bawl, to clutch onto as hard as I can lest he slips away from me. I need him with every part of my ravaged being. He is my life.’
Whew! There are so very many parts of this incredible Colin Dereham novel that I want to share with you, but dear readers, you deserve the experience of these magical words all on your own.
What I would love to share is that Bradford, Bru and Brendan Too is ALL about relationships. REAL, sweet, sentimental, gritty, horrific and steamy.
As Bradford’s life is spread before us, his physical, mental and emotional experiences color our hearts with a genuine sense of reality. We are alongside him as pain and joy traverse his humanity, and struggle with him through disasters, dilemmas, and celebrate his delights.
Colin Dereham is my go-to author for the REAL stories of men traveling through life with expectations of themselves and others, finding their hearts and souls stretching and living, and dreaming of friendships and love that will fulfill their lives.
Gay romance dealing with abuse, blindness, and coping I smiled some, got angry a lot, and cried a bit as well. This was such a good book. The blurb explains a little about Bradford who is angst personified, his boyfriend Jarrod and Brad’s future with Bruno. Bradford is now legally blind, lost his operatic profession and is now dealing with a mean bully of a boyfriend who demeans Bradford at every opportunity and never pays his way in their relationship. And things started out so well too! When Bruno meets Bradford, it is to come to his defense when Bradford’s boyfriend Jarrod has made a scene at the pub. Bruno comes over to offer his help to Bradford. They start a conversation and leave together. Thus starts a window into Bradford’s life: past, present and hopefully future. Parts of this book will haunt me. At one scene I was sobbing. This book was written with such sensitivity I would have thought it was written by a woman. My bad. The intimate scenes clue the reader in that a man has written this book and those are abundant. If you like angst, hurt/comfort, and happy resolutions, you will want to read this book. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book.
It's a special book when all the spicy parts make you go "awww that's so cute" At one point. Not that it's not spicy it is it's very spicy but that doesn't change that these two dirty mouth sweethearts are in love with each other and always do something to make the other one feel cherished. This is the story of two bears ( and no not the shifter kind) that have a one night stand abd it develops into so much more. Also not only do we have body diversity in the form of a big chunky man and a small chubby man, but Bradford (my sweet sunshine) is also blind and is accompanied by his best friend and guide dog Brendon (honnestly it's a perfect name). This book was the light I needed, honnestly it's a Bradford book in the sens that like the character this book is a ray of sunshine spinkled with a dirty mind and a Spoonful of suffering. The domestic abuse in this book is rought but it's real and raw and just perfectly done. Just a lovely book, but fair warning grab some tissues, you will need it.
This one is just not for me. I should have known by the title and the cover (there I go with the covers again, but it looks like two dudes from a free porn site where they can’t pay the hot dudes to do the scenes.)
But they lost me early on when they were in the bar sort of obsessing over the bear thing. I find it interesting and amusing that there are different genres of gay men — twinks, twunks, bears, otters, etc. It’s cute. And I get that many gay men have a type. But the two of them fangirling over their hairy “bear bellies” and referring to Bradford as a “cub” even though he’s pushing 50, hairy and built like a bear himself. I don’t know, it just felt like they were trying to out-Yosemite each other.
It may be a great book. I just decided to put it in hibernation.
All the angst, all the laughs, and all the bears you could want.
Bradford, Bru And Brendan, Too is a brilliant romance with strong hurt/comfort themes. It tackles difficult topics (so read the content warnings if you need) but did so really well... and also made me laugh out loud.
In this, you'll find: ✨️Spicy MM contemporary romance ✨️Blind Opera Singer Otter/bear MC, who lost his sight in his 40s ✨️Nurse Bear MC ✨️Guide dog ✨️Hurt/comfort ✨️Open relationships ✨️Abusive relationship ✨️Death of a parent ✨️Loss of career due to disability ✨️Aussie swearing ✨️Sydney setting ✨️A HEA . ***spoiler alert*** . ✨️Assault ✨️Traumatic brain injury + amnesia ✨️Assault of a guide dog ✨️Drug taking + dealing ✨️Mention of rape of secondary character
Oh my gosh Colin Dereham! You just ripped my heart to pieces and put it back together again. Bradford and Bru's story is so heartbreaking yet sweet and beautiful at the same time. These two are fire and really get put through the paces before they can truly be together. I loved how they knew each other when they were younger. I also liked how they each had their own emotional journey throughout the book. And we can't forget about Brendan. He is such a loyal, protective, sweet guide dog. Loved!
DNF at 12% I was struggling with the way this was written but decided it was just the Australian way maybe and decided to just power through 🤣 but it felt kinda weird and cringe and then the opera singing started and I couldn't do it anymore. I don't usually leave a DNF update but I know I will want to try this one again so here is me attempting to stop future me from doing that.
