Even though I do not agree with several points in Mrs. Kreidmans take on relationships, this book helped me quite a bit, and it was exactly what I needed to read at this point in my life. It certainly helped me getting my sh*t together and move on, smiling all the way.

This book and it's companion book "Light Her Fire" were recommended to me by my sister-in-law as a book she has enjoyed in her own marriage and has used to help her friends. (She also recommended that each person in the relationship read their gender appropriate book and not read each other's book.)
It is a very quick read and has a lot of good reminders of principles that make any relationship thrive, not just a marriage. Although I don't think every suggestion she makes is right for every marriage, there were a lot of good suggestions on how to increase the fun, romance, and emotional and physical intimacy in your relationship. All in all it made me want to be a better wife and appreciate my husband more fully.
I'm giving it four stars, not because I think every single thing about it is perfect but because I want to recommend it highly to all my friends and I think it is definitely worth a read.

Though this book looks outdated and cheesy, I’ve read this book quite a few times over the years. Originally recommended to me by my YSA bishop years ago, it has helped me a lot in my dating and marriage. This is a good book to revisit on an annual basis, to remember principles to keep the romance alive and well.

الن کریدمن مثل یک مادر خوب انگار که به دختران خودش درس شوهرداری بده، این کتاب رو نوشته.
من که واقعا ازش استفاده کردم و به همه ی نوعروس ها و اونایی که مدت ها از زندگی مشترکشون میگذره ولی احساس میکنن به تغییراتی نیاز دارن، پیشنهادش میکنم.

I think every woman who wants to add romance back into her life must read this one. It is the best I have read in a long time. It was suggested by a friend that I read it, so I did. I went to a lot of trouble to find it and ended up having to get my local library to request an inter-library loan. It took a while to get it, however it was worth the wait. It is an easy read and well written. The author holds classes on this topic and has put into this book. It is a MUST READ for all women who want a fulfilling relationship with anyone. I have not read the one for men, but you can bet that if it is anything like this one written for women, then the men could have the woman of their dreams in their very own woman. That's great. Get it, read it, and give it someone you love and want to see happy in their own relationships.

I found this book at a used book sale and I was intrigued by the title. I thought it was about improving your sex life, however it's more about improving your whole relationship with your husband, including listening to your husband, appreciating him for his strengths, taking responsibility for your own happiness, as well as choosing to take time out for romance. The book is a little dated in its references to technology (e.g. mentioning cassette tapes), but the principles are timeless and valuable. There are some great tips such as touching your man every day, noticing him, planning surprises to spice up both of your lives, and planning vacations regularly with just the two of you. Recommended as an easy-to-read relationship book and for practical tips that you can put into practice immediately.

I'm so addicted to these kinds of book. They are trashy and ridiculous and wildly intoxicating. I think these books are probably more useful if you don't tell your partner you're using him as a guinea pig.

There are some good stuff; nothing you haven't already read in a million other places. Still, if you wake up in the middle of the night, stare at your partner and sometimes wish they'd die in their sleep you might want to pick this up.

It talks about the little things that you wouldn't think would make a difference make a huge difference within the relationship. It's been fun doing some of the suggestions given. Especially since I didn't think it would matter to my husband. It was an eye opener to see how much it really did matter.

Ellen Kreidman points out traits that annoy you the most another woman might find to be his most attractive. We need to appreciate our spouses the way we did when we first met them. Light His Fire is about nurturing your husband's spirit. I think this book should be in every married couple's book shelf.

Even though this book was hard to find at first and it is an older edition I loved it. It has good info in it and when applied really works. Some of the things suggested you might want to filter out depending on your beliefs, but over all a useful book. BTW they also have light her fire ;-)

I finally finished reading this. Charles got these books ( light her fire for him) a while ago. I kept starting to read it but life (school, boys activities, etc.) always got in the way. It was a pretty good book and I am glad that I finally finished it.
