Dog Groomer Aaron Willis has lots of friends that are girls, a menagerie of pets, and the inability to say no. After his sister finds her soulmate, Aaron hopes to find his own. Demands of his growing business and his inability to say no to every volunteer need stand in his way.

Although he has a ripped physique, he still thinks of himself as fat and pays no mind to the women who ogle him. But when a hazel-eyed beauty spills scalding coffee on him, he can’t stop thinking about her. And when she interviews for the front desk job at his dog spa, he can’t believe his good fortune. Moving to a new town where her parents and siblings now live, and getting reacquainted after a ten-year absence, is another challenge. Instead, she focuses on being efficient at her admin job. Will she ever feel comfortable in her new skin? Not to mention her strong attraction to Aaron. Former Air Force Captain Cassie Quinn lost her arm in a roadside IED. To escape her nightmares and panic attacks, she applies for a job at a Dog Groomer’s. She’s surprised when the family-run business hires her. She sees it as a step toward healing.

Aaron Willis is part owner of a thriving Dog Grooming business. The animal loving bachelor has a hard time saying no to anyone who needs him. Before long, Cassie has captured his attention. They begin dating but his need to help her overwhelms Cassie.

She’s getting more comfortable with her prosthetic arm physically but inside she feels emotionally broken. Who will want to marry her?

Believable, loveable characters had me rooting for them. The tension increased as the story went on, drawing me into the story. Some surprising twists caused me to wonder how the hero and heroine could resolve their conflict.

This novel will appeal to animal lovers and dog lovers. Cassie needs an emotional support dog and it was inspiring to see how her pet helped her deal with her nightmares and her panic attacks.

I recommend this contemporary romance novel, and dog lovers will especially enjoy it.

If you enjoy cute and quirky characters and a passel of pooches, this is the book for you. Author Cindy Huff digs deep into tough issues like poor self-image, PTSD, major life-changing trauma, and the healing grace of a merciful God through His creation. You won’t want to miss this story that is sure to dampen your eyes, tug at your heart, and give you hope no matter the situation.

Author Huff does a wonderful job of fleshing out imperfect, hurting people who need each other and their canine companions. This is a feel-good story that will stick with the reader.
