The king of Crystalfall has returned, plunging the court into chaos.
Chloe and Quintus are desperate to defeat this malicious ruler and end his reign of terror. But the king’s power and ingenuity make him the greatest enemy Faerie has ever known. Even worse, the king is planning a sacrificial ritual, which will give him even more power.
If the king succeeds, his magic will be strong enough to destroy all the other courts in Faerie. He will instantly crush any court that attempts to defy him. And he’ll get rid of his son for good.
Chloe and Quintus must stop the king before he gains this ultimate power. If they don’t, Faerie itself will be ruined forever.

I received an advance review copy from Booksirens for giving a review voluntarily. This is it....the final countdown has come for Quintas and Chloe to stop Julian once and for all. Julian has become more powerful but he needs to complete a ritual to make him immortal forever and it involves Quintas. Chloe and Quintas along with the Golden Shields take shelter with Chandril and the wraths. The wraths, tho reluctantly will aid in the fight in whatever capacity they can do. It starts with protecting the tree deep in their forest. They make a plan to infiltrate Julian's castle at his grand celebration. With the help of their dragons they train so they can bring down the shield around Crystalfall castle and get to Julian. Julian may have the forces but one thing he doesn't have is love for one another. Chloe and Quintas will stop at nothing to keep each other safe. They know Quintas is the key to Julian's ultimate power and they must keep him safe at all costs. Will Chloe's mortalness be their downfall and will Julian end up winning? Can't get into alot of detail in the review as it would be spoilers. A great ending to the series.
Wrath and Crystal Thorns is the grand finale of the Fae and Crystal Thorns series by Kay L Moody. Chloe, Quintus and the golden shields face king Julian in the final battle for Crystalfall. But Julian is a wicked enemy and the golden shields need all the help they can get. Will they succeed or will Crystalfall be reigned by a tyrant forevermore? Wrath and Crystal Thorns is a fantastic end to a great series. Its suspenseful, romantic and full of action. I couldn't wish for a better ending for these characters I've grown to love. The story sucked me in instantly (like in the books before) and I am a little bit sad it's finished now. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I really enjoyed this series, but I almost feel like it dragged on a bit too long. For at least half the book I just wanted to skip to the final battle that I knew was coming, and then when we got there I had no idea how things were going to wrap up in such a short amount of time. It did come together pretty well, but the battle was a bit of a let down after all of the anticipation.
What an astounding read! This book and series sucked me the same way a whale sucks in floating plankton, one deep breath and I was all in! Chloe and Quintus are like milk and honey, smooth, delectable characters who hit the right spot. The challenges facing Chloe, Quintus, Mishtri and the Golden Shields is almost insurmountable horror, all thanks to the devious, despicable, self centred Julian. Who also happens to be Quintus' father... tense, dramatic, emotional, every feel imaginable coursing through me.
Chloe, Quintus, Mishtri are on the back foot, Julian is way ahead of the race, a race that threatens disaster. They flee, they hide, they try to come up with a plan to prevent this disaster from occurring. Daring plans and even more daring execution of the plans. Strangely enough, the determination Chloe shows brings a bible passage to mind, it just seems so appropriate, a passage by Paul "we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope " That is the fundamental thread throughout because one couldn't find a stronger character than Chloe. For all her faults, she's a natural leader, her strength shines like a beacon in the darkest of nights. Chloe pushed through the pain caused by her prosthesis, Chloe faced her fears. When she was almost down and out, her brain frozen from the fighting around her, she digs deeper than she ever had! I was literally clapping!!! Julian, oh grrrrrrrrrr! Scumbag doesn't cut it for him! What he did to Chloe, what he wants to do to Quintus, is evil on another level!
Chloe is incredible, she lets nothing deter her to find a solution, not her disability, not her fear, not the unknown, not even the fact that Julian has stolen something so precious from them, nothing will stop her trying to find a solution. Her mind is her greatest asset and she utilities it to the max. I love the hope she carries in her heart, as dark and hopeless as all might appear, she clings to that hope, she throws it out to shroud the Golden Shields, to dispel the despair that's seeped in. But boy oh boy was she challenged! As for Quintus, he shrugged off the mantle of despair, he shrugged the the hopelessness, he stepped up! I adored him from my first encounter, but then, I do love a tortured soul, a fact he hid so well behind his wit and banter. Seeing both of them develop, progress and support each other, was stunningly described. So realistic and so heart warming. But the anguish! Oh my word the anguish I felt together with them! She's mortal, he's not.... it's a love as unlikely as can be, as their bond strengthens, so too does the knowledge it can never be. Talk about ripping my heart out! This is tempered by Mishtri and Chandril, there's SOMETHING cool happening there! His metamorphoses is staggering! Not only his willingness to aid in the battle against Julian but physically too, remarkable in fact! I can't stress enough the supreme expertise of Ms Moody, she forged all the characters adroitly, giving them substance.
The author deserves applause for her skill, for the very effective, tense, dramatic storytelling. I absolutely love how she sprinkles little clues, how she inserts mind-blowing revelations, how she twists the plot until my mind is reeling in anticipation. What a vivid world! What vivid world building! What vivid characters! What VIVIDRY all round! I was so engaged I felt like I was traversing an emotional mine field! So so heart pounding! A book and series that has it all, incredible texture to this world, incredible texture to the characters, heart in throat action, a plot that evolves perfectly, the magic system uniquely thrilling, baddies I wanted to bop, goodies I wanted to embrace, a love that leaves one all gooey and there are even dragons! And a most satisfying conclusion! What more could one ask for?
Wow what a ride this series has been. I have read all 5 of these book and each one just blew me away. This one book 5 was a nail biter for sure. The author has created some great characters and most of all one of the all time best villians that you will love to hate. The plot just sucked me in and kept the pages turning. I do believe this has made it to my favorite series list for sure. Chloe and Quintus are still fighting Julian. Julian has given himself great power and has become the ruler of Crystalfall. He has also become faerie's greatest enemy. He is planning to perform a ritual that will make him the most powerful ruler that faerie has ever seen and then he will be unstopable. The Golden Shields are trying desperatly to stop him but every time Julian manages to defeat them. Julian wants nothing more than to end Chloe's life to hurt Quintus bit so far he hasn't been able to accomplish it. What he doesn’t know is that the greater the bond becomes between the 2, the more powers that faerie will share with Chloe. Julian and Chloe are both mortal and Julian gains his powers by any diabolical means he can. Chloe gains powers from faerie itself because it remembers her and how she saved it from iron poisoning. Now it's time for the final battle and everyone is on board. The golden shields have recruited more humans, some fae, pixies, dragons and wraiths. They will need all the help they can get if they are to defeat the evil Julian. They will have to work together and outsmart him if there is any hope. After the battle they can worry about a ruler for Crystalfall and maybe Chloe can figure out something to help with her mortality and then marry Quintus, the man of her dreams. This is now one of my all time favorite series and I can't wait to see wahat the author will create next.
I love this magical fantasy series, and this the book which brings us to the end of the Crystalfall court series is a perfect ending. The book is a rollercoaster of emotions which keep the reader turning the pages unable to stop reading. Chloe and Quintus need to get rid of Julian who has now installed himself as the rightful king of crystalfall. He is the father of Quintus, he is a mortal and pure evil. He is the greatest enemy of Faerie and it's creatures, and needs to be eliminated if everyone else is to survive. However he has gained massive powers and intends carrying out a ritual which will make him supreme, and able to dominate all of faerie. I love the wording of the ritual which Ms. Moody came up with, it is intriguing in that it takes almost till the end of the book to make us all aware of what Julian would need to carry this out. I love the mystery which kept the tension so high throughout the book as we fear for Quintus' life most especially, but not only. I love that the wraiths played such an important role in the story and that they rallied round when needed, and that Chloe and Quintus intended the court to be an open one for every creature no matter if they were fae or mortal. This book gives us the perfect ending the series and we deserved. Thank you Ms. Moody for yet another beautifully magical series.
I liked that chloe and quintus were more affectionate in this one. It made the advances in their magical bond make more sense, and the conclusion to their story felt fitting.
One of my favourite parts of this book, though, was mishti and her connection with a certain wraith. I loved it and the interactions it produced between the two of them and Ludo.
Plotwise now that we finally had the true big bad for the series, I felt like the plot was a little neater, and it opened the door for some great action moments. We still got some repeating of conversations and the idea of the ritual, which was unnecessary.
Overall, I enjoyed this book. I'd probably say it was one of the best of the series, and I think the ending will be satisfying for most of the readers.
I received an advance review copy of this book, and this review represents my honest opinion. Thank you to the author for the opportunity to read this book.
As you can imagine from the previous book, this one was packed with stuff to keep you earnestly flipping pages. Though if you thought they were in a tough spot before, just wait to see how much Chloe and Quintus end up being up against in this one...
Ready to see more of Crystalfall and Chloe and Quintus's relationship? (And dragons, wraiths, magic, and a manic, powerful, and cunning bad guy...) Don't wait on this book! Kay does an absolutely wonderful job with this, and though I knew (generally) how it would end, every turn to get there was unpredictable and had me on the edge of my seat. The ending had me satisfied, and pleased with the thrilling adventure this series launched me into.
Definitely recommend this series, and all of Kay's books! She has such a wonderful way with characters—and enjoyable, unique world building!
This is the last book in the Fae and Crystal Thorns series. It starts off exactly where book 4 ended. In this book our protagonists Chloe and Quintus will do everything in their power to unseat Julian, the King. Will they succeed, I won’t tell you and spoil the book. Let’s just suffice to say the book does have a very satisfying ending.
As our protagonists grow closer in their bond and with the other golden shields they go on lots of adventures. I did have some tear filled moments while reading this book. Some of them were tears due to sadness and some were tears of joy.
If you haven’t read the other books in this series please read them first. It is a highly enjoyable series and I’m sad to see it end as I’ve grown to love these characters but as I said before I am satisfied with the ending.

It's the last one about Chloe and Quintus journey. And what a journey. This book it's filled with action you have not one dull moment. Betwwn trying to defeat their great enemy to trying to get along and get humans and fae working together, these two don't have a moment of peace. In this one Julian it's even more veil, if that's possible - the way he didn't care about anything or anyone except his hungry for power. Wrath and Crystal Thorns is the perfect ending to this serie. It has suspense, its has romance (noy only Chloe and Quintus, but a certain mortal and a wraith) and it has action. There couldn't be a more satisfaying ending.

This is book five of the Fae and Crystal thorns series. This has been a captivating journey as we watch Chloe grown and come into her own. Chloe and Quintus’s love affair has been through so much and you’ll read on in holding your breathe that they’ll make it through everything they face in this book. This book has a strong, well-developed and an interesting story line with twists and unexpected turns that keep you reading and turning the pages. It pulled me in from beginning to end and held my attention. Amazing world building that is detailed and imaginable. This maybe the last of this series but I can’t wait for more in this world. Definitely an author you want to read and follow.
The wrong person in power can wreck an entire realm It’s a sad, sad day when ya need to protect yourself against one of your own. Betrayal, of any kind, leads to nothing less than torn loyalties and broken hearts. Is being in a constant state of suspicion about those around you a guarantee to avoid disappointment and pain? Is that any way to live?
Some sage advice from the author: Think creatively when fighting to save the realm. Always be prepared for when ‘the real battle begins’. Consider securing alliances with non-enemies against common threats.
My fave part was the crafting of the crown. Just last night, I was surfing online for a foresty-type fairy princess tiara for my Purim costume. But I would really rather have a bespoke one, but what to choose – bright or dark, everyday wear or formal events, flashy or subtle, gold or silver, jeweled or plants, monochrome or multi-colored… How is a gal to decide on such an important accessory? If you were to craft your own crown, would you design it yourself or contract an expert to do so? What would you want? Would it match your dragon?
Since this is the final book of the series, I’d like to wish everyone their own Crystalfall in times of needing a refuge. May we never need it, but still know that it is always there for us.
I am not the target reader for this type of book and I enjoyed many of the fantasy elements. The YA readership will enjoy the grand finale to this series - if they've read the preceding four volumes. I didn't enjoy all the description and the constant references to Chloe's heart, chest and insides. The plot moves along at a steady pace and the characters are well-developed. It's a bit predictable but still entertaining. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
What a fitting end to this series! I fell in love with Faerie through Bitter Thorn and Crystal Falls has just deepened the feeling. Chloe and Quintus grew so much in this series, and especially in the finale. But all characters, including Mishtri and the Golden Shields grew above and beyond, being spurred on by Chloe’s bravery and smarts. Kay L. Moody has done another awesome job in creating this series. Well done. I definitely recommend.
I received an advance reader copy and am leaving this review on my own accord.
Wrath and Crystal Thorns is Book 5 in Far and Crystal Throne by Kay L Moody. Book 4 left me feeling hopeless for Choke and Quintus. Julian is evil, he has the crown along with immortality and magic. This creative author picks up the fragmented pieces and tells a fantastic story while putting the puzzle back together and closing and writing a wonderful ending to one ok f my favorite fantasy adventures. This series is not to be missed! I received an arc for free and am leaving my review voluntarily.
What an end to this fantastic series! This series and this book keeps you on the end of your seat the entire time. It's marvellously heart breaking and swoony and intriguing and puzzling all at the same time. Chloe and Quintus are a great couple with lots of anguish and swoony stuff but will they defeat Julian once and for all or will he be one step ahead of them as always.
This is everything they have been working towards and a whole host of familiar faces are on the scene for the final showdown.

This series finale, Wrath & Crystal Thorns, by Kay L. Moody started off with a reminder of the massive bombshell dropped at the end of the previous book and took off from there. The journey this misfit band of humans, fae, dragons, and wraiths (yes, really, wraiths can be the good guys!) endured had me giggling, teary, shocked, frustrated, and finally overjoyed and satisfied for the little found family that has developed through this series.
This final adventure for Chloe, Quintus, and the Golden Shields is more intense than ever before. There is nonstop tension and adventure in Crystalfall. Will they be able to finally stop Julian and restore the court? There are more dragons; plenty of action, and new alliances formed, but also new fears. This final adventure is full of challenges and surprises, but also filled with courage, hope and love. It shows us just how important inner strength can be.
Chloe and Quintus are back and they must do their best to survive to the end among the trouble, danger, intrigue and the court. So much fun watching it all play out and see what they must face and overcome this time. Twits and turns kept me guessing and reading to the end. Great characters for both the good guys and bad guys, a great story and fun world to enjoy and watch it all play out. Lots of magic and drama too.
Wow! What a thriller! Chloe and Quintus have quite the wild ride in this amazing finale to the Fae and Crystal Thorns series. This is Book 5 but be sure to read the first 4 and the accompanying novella. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. I 100% endorse this book. The world building is dynamic and the characters withstand many trials in their battle for their kingdom and their commitment to each other.
An amazing book. Chloe and Quintan continue to find a way to fight his father, Julian, after he tricked them into making him king. There is epic fighting, unlikely alliances, danger, mixed emotions and a great ending to the book. This series of books were awesome to read. Thank you. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
A stunning conclusion to this series with twists and turns that were totally unexpected and exciting. Being the final book in the series, the tension here is tight and all loose ends are wrapped up nicely. There are some elements of romance, but it's a clean read and one I would definitely recommend if you like human and fae communication, dragons, high stakes, and a heroine that doesn't leave herself as a damsel in distress.
The final book in a great series. King Jillian is evil and a worthy opponent so the tension was there. However, I felt at times that the book seemed to drag a long and I had to fight the temptation to skip forward to the epic battle that would determine everything. In the end it felt a tiny bit rushed, like it all had to be crammed into just a few pages.
However, the writing was good, the characters were enjoyable and the series was a good read.
A satisfying end to a series. I was frustrated with the main characters as I felt that both of them should have learned and felt more confidence after all of their experiences over the entire series. However, I did appreciate learning more and seeing the growth in many of the minor/major characters. I also liked the importance of team work within the population. A good series!

Heart stopping, Suspenseful but totally Satisfying!
I fell in love with KLM’s writing on reading the Bitter Thorn series. This, book 5 in the Crystal Thorn series, is totally heart stopping! The suspense is killing but you can’t put it down! Thank goodness for Chloe! She proves that intelligence is just as important as bravery; maybe more so.
Ahhh, so good!! While, I didn't enjoy the cliffhanger from book 4, it was worth it. From the first page, this book sucked me right back into the world of Crystalfall and brought me along for the ride. This is the ending this story deserves! <3 I received this story as an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Wrath and Crystal Thorns is the grand finale of the Fae and Crystal Thorns series by Kay L Moody and what a finale it is. I have been drawn into each of the books in this series, and this last book did not disappoint. I love the characters, the story line, and the whole series.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
‘Wrath & Crystal Thorns’ makes magic both literally and emotionally. With deep and caring relationships, thrilling action and adventure… Chloe, Quintus, and their collected family are heroes for the ages!
A beautiful ending to the series. Not 5 stars because I feel like it dragged on a little bit with all the struggles against Julian only to end the way it did. Overall, incredible world building, amazing characters, and an immersive plot.
