Oh my goodness, the torture this author puts these women through. It's only book 2 but I'm exhausted worrying for them lol.
Lucy is involved in a plane crash being flown by her friend's alledgedly dead brother Zander. On the run with concussion and injuries they must escape the clutches of someone who wants secrets from Lucy. Trust needs to be built between them when Zander looks like he's turned traitor.
This story went from one incident to another, just when things look better, take a breath it's not over.
Such an action packed story, I can't wait for book #3.

Your heart breaks for Zander and the pain and torture he not only suffered as a prisoner of war, but still suffers every day as his survivors guilt replays the horrors and the screams on loop in his mind. It may seem like he picked vengeance over his twin Scarlett, but there was never a choice to be made. This time around there is a choice and thankfully he chooses Lucy....every time. He knows his team would agree, "sacrifice themselves for the innocent" is an accepted belief in his Team. Lucy however disagrees, it's not one of them or the other...she won't let him sacrifice himself for her....it's both of them or neither. They survive together or they die together.
Lucy needs Zander just as much as Zander needs Lucy, and although it is something neither one has ever done before, they learn to not only accept help, but to ask for help too, such a humbling moment when Zander arrives at Lucy's in the early hours and admits his darkest thoughts. She handles it beautifully and in turn she offers her soul, no strings, no conditions, no judgement, just unconditional acceptance.

This second book in the Special Forces: Operation Alpha Athena Team for Prey Security continues straight from where book one, Fighting For Scarlett, finished, and the excitement is still extremely high while the incredible surprise remains foremost.
Lucy is a great character who, although she has always suffered health-wise, has stretched her wings and tried some extreme sports because of her need to prove herself. She is a strong, determined young woman who loves the girls on their Athena Team like sisters. Her assessment of Zander is based on facts, and I liked how she moved forward after discovering that there were unknown reasons for him to do what he did. Together, they have a very special bond.
The story continues to be a roller coaster of events that either have you on the edge of your seat, ready to fight a battle with the evil characters, or feeling supremely satisfied and happy.
Just when the i’s are all dotted, and the t’s are all crossed, along comes a cliffhanger ending! 😂 Bring on Fighting Cassidy.

I don’t know how Jane Blythe does it but she constantly delivers outstanding reads that are action packed and full of drama it has me constantly biting my nails on sitting on the edge of my seat. Fighting for Lucy was an outstanding read that had me devouring each word. I loved Xander and Lucy and their story also was very emotional. Both the characters had very different childhoods but it is because of their pasts that they can connect on so many levels. This story is becoming more and more intriguing and will all the danger that follows anyone who works for Prey Security you know that every time you open one of these books you are in for once massive roller coaster ride of emotions and you will be caught up in all the suspense. I was so excited to read this book but as we know the next book is just around the corner and it promises to be another great addition this is amazing series.

Lucy and Zander. The danger starts immediately from the cliffhanger in book one. The story runs the gamut of uncertainty, sarcasm, standing strong, needing each other, love and healing. Zander has a horrific backstory and Lucy is strong due to her health and having to fight it her whole life. Zander has to fight through his demons, open up to Lucy and find peace with his sister…Scarlett…who believed him to be dead. The second kidnapping was applying for both and vividly took us along with them. Lucy is fierce and her love of the twins and fierce drive to be there for Zander was the true winner. The scene with Theo twins at the end with their significant others was sweet with the cooking and sewing. The story ends with their HEA, but also with a cliffhanger as the mole is still unknown, Raul is still out there and the danger has now reached another member of the Athena team with that last text telling Scarlett what next catastrophe just happened.

Fighting for Lucy was a really good read that keeps you on the edge of your seat! As we found out in Fighting for Scarlett Lucy is in a plane that’s very likely about to crash with none other than Scarlett’s presumed dead twin brother, Zander, as the pilot. Say whhaaat?!?! Ms. Blythe doesn’t disappoint with this one either because she takes you on a journey with a psycho as the bad guy. We find out what happened to Zander and learn that our sweet Lucy is a very strong young woman who’s faced adversity all her life. While she doesn’t let her circumstances define her, many others do just that which leaves Lucy to seek life fulfillment on her own. So, imagine her surprise when Zander enters her life but can she trust him? There’s a lot of angst between these two, though you’ll enjoy it all!

Fighting for Lucy is an action packed, page turning romantic thriller. I loved how I was kept on the edge of my seat this whole time. This is a continuation of the intertwined stories if the Athena team of Prey. Lucy is a very intelligent and stong heroine. Zander, Scarletts twin whom we all thought had died, is the hero. He was the only one of his team that survived being captured and tortured. You learn more around how both Zander and Scarlett grew up, how it's impacting him today and his relationship with Lucy. I loved how much Zanders vulnerability comes to light and with the help of Lucy, he is able to push back his demons. Danger lurks around Lucy, can Zander keep Lucy safe?
What an intense and suspenseful book, I loved it. I'm ready for the next book in this series!

Lucy and Zander’s story was action packed, emotional, steamy and I couldn’t put this down. Zander is struggling with what happened to him and his team and doesn’t think he should still be breathing. He’s kept a secret for a while and when he’s on a plane with Lucy and his sister sees him she knows exactly who he is and says his name just before the phone line goes dead leaving Lucy and Zander to fend for themselves. Lucy and Zander have always felt the attraction between them, but nothing ever happened and now with danger following her he has to do everything he can to keep her safe. Zander feels guilty and feels he should’ve died with his crew, but was saved and survivors guilt is strong.

One thing I can always count on with Jane Blythe's books is that they will be packed with action! And Fighting for Lucy is no exception. This book did not start slow. It throws you right into the fire and does not let up until the very end!
After the shocking ending to Fighting for Scarlett, I was anxious to get Zander's story! I have a thing for those tortured bad boys and Zander did not disappoint.
Lucy was such a strong heroine not in an abrasive way, but in an admirable way. She pushed herself despite the battles she fought, and I loved the way her mind worked! These two are my new favorite couple in Jane's catalog of books. They were made for each other, one complimenting the other. Their story was full of adrenaline, suspense, and feels!
Another thing Jane knows how to do well? Build suspense for the next story! I personally think she enjoys torturing us LOL
I highly recommend diving into this series if you're new to Jane's books!

Another action packed story from the talented Ms Blythe. This story certainly hit the ground running with a plane crash, then things certainly got worse from there! This story is an absolute roller coaster where the plot twists and turns and you really don't know who to trust. As always in books by this author, the characters are well developed and you really feel you get to know them, Lucy is a strong heroine who has fought hard to overcome adversity and Zander is fighting his demons. Together the two of them have plenty of battles before they can find their HEA.
Just as my heart stopped racing, the teaser for the next book had me frantically checking its release date! Bring on the next book I really cannot wait!

Lucy Elrod’s tasked with collecting more raw materials for their team’s formula. Lucy hears a frantic message as the plane goes down that pilot, Zander Madden’s on Raul Castillo’s payroll! Lucy recognizes the pilot but he’s pretending not to know her and she tries to escape. Once separated, Raul’s men are on her in no time. Raul doesn’t have any new tricks and uses the same tactics to capture and torture Lucy as he did Scarlett.
Meanwhile, Prey has made no progress on finding the mole, plus Lucy realizes Zander’s given her a code word and she realizes he’s undercover and wastes no time sharing how deep in love and lust she is with him though Zander feels the same, he’s wracked with guilt over a recent op.

Great story!!
When Lucy survives a plane crash flown by ex Delta Force officer Zander also her best friend's brother, she doesn't know if she can trust him fully when they are on the run from trouble.
So fast paced and action packed, with heaps is danger, drama and adventure. The romance heats up even though it's looking like Zander could be part of the problem. Their chemistry certainly is explosive when they get their act together and explore what they have.
Jane Blythe certainly knows her stuff. This was so well written and I respect the challenge she set herself with this book. It was such an enjoyable read and one I can highly recommend.

Oh wow! This was another nail biting story. This one involved Lucy and Zander - Scarlett's twin. The beginning was innocent enough until Scarlett hears her brother's voice. Now Lucy has to figure out if Zander is a good guy or bad guy. The scenes get more intense as we read each chapter. We have to find out who this mole is. So glad one of the bad guys was taken care of but we are still in the dark about the other two bad guys. What a teaser the last paragraph was. Glad Lucy and Zander get a chance to find their happy ending. FANTASTIC job Jane! Definitely can't wait for Cassie's book! I would highly recommend this book!

This is one of my favourite tropes, I loved the whole premise of the story.
Lucy was just so nice, she was so understanding and exactly what Zander needed. I loved how she fought through everything, she was so tough.
My heart broke for Zander and all he had gone through, I’m so glad Lucy came into his life when she did.
The story was completely riveting and I read this in one sitting as I couldn’t put it down. Written really well and the perfect balance of suspense, romance and heat.
This has turned into a brilliant series and I can’t wait to read Cassie’s story next.

Another fantastic book in this series. I loved Lucy and Zander's story. What a ride full of twists and turns, suspense, angst and a lot of action. Not to mention a lot of intense emotions between these two. This author kept me on edge of my seat the entire story. I did not want to put it down due to wanting to find out what happens next. I don't know how this author keeps writing such phenomenal stories one after another. Definitely a fantastic writer. This book is the second story in the Special Forces: Operation Alpha series and can not wait for the next book. I highly recommend this book!! It was fantastic.

Zander and Lucy are fighting for their lives right from the start. The action was edge-of-your-seat and kept me enthralled. Because this is also part of Susan Stoker's Operation Alpha, we got to see some of her characters (whom I love!). The tenderness and caring/loving between Zander and Lucy is lovely and I loved how they both were trying to be open with each other. This is the second book about Team Athena. It can be read as a stand-alone but you will get more out of it if you read them in order.

Fighting for Lucy is the perfect example of a wild ride, it'll have you on the edge of your seat.
Mystery, action, suspense and high anxiety! The twists and turns leave you guessing, and not quite sure what's going to happen next.
Lucy and Zander story, is up there as one of my favorites, and the way Jane writes Lucy, with a realism that literally blew my mind.........if you wanna know what I talking about, read it. You won't regret it.

Jane Blythe really digs into deep, powerful and gut wrenching emotions in Fightting For Lucy. I found some scenes tough to read because of the depth of feelings and emotions explored. But, I was riveted nonetheless. Zander and Lucy's jungle trek and subsequent imprisonment was edge of your seat stuff. Learning about Zander's past was profound and brought me to tears. Lucy's strength, determination and moxie were awesome. Convincing Zander to take a chance on them is an uphill battle but in her he finds the peace and love that has eluded him most of his life.

I couldn't wait to read about Zander and Lucy after the cliffhanger ending in Fighting for Scarlett. Zander is Scarlett's twin brother, who everybody thought died. Lucy is sweet and understanding. Zander is broken after being captured and watching his Delta team be tortured and killed. With Lucy's sweet nature and acceptance, she helped Zander start to heal all while running from the evil that's out for her team. This book didn't disappoint in the non-stop action, twists, turns and heartbreak. I can't wait for the next book!

Well Jane has done it again given us a great book. At the end of book one we left to story with Lucy on the plane with Zander who was supposed to be dead! What? That's right and this is how their love story begins. Lucy and Zander have many obstacles on their way to HEA and the writing is so great you don't know if they will make it or not! The action, the romance, the friendship, and moving on from past trauma it's all there. So get in your comfy chair and get to know the Athena Team.

Jane gives us book 2 which brings us on an adventure right from the start. Zander & Lucy were enjoyable to get to know. I loved how direct lucy was & how Zander had to keep fighting himself. Loved seeing our favourite seal team & the brilliant support of Prey. My heart broke for the emotional upheaval they all had to endure. Zander & Lucy's chemistry was so sweet & steamy. Fast paced & more thrilling suspense to discover keeps you hooked. Looking forward to the next book. Honest review.

A nonstop series of crazy events whilst sporting injuries AND crashed in the jungle AND on the run AND with someone she doesn’t know if she can trust???
Talk about a rollercoaster of emotions! I think I held my breath most of the book.
I know it’s only the second book in the series, but I’m not sure how you can beat Lucy and Zander’s story, it was fantastic!!

This is a really good story, albeit gruesome in parts, but it ends with a happy ever after so all is well. Lucy is in a plane with a pilot who she learns is Scarletts, presumed dead, twin brother Zander, who everyone feels must be a bad guy. Lucy is terrified and then the plane crashes.

The story is cleverly woven and I just loved it. The characters are good too. I can't wait for the next in the series.

Frustrated
I have to believe this author never suffered a broken bone or even bruised--let alone cracked--ribs. The way these characters act like a broken bone is bearable without even being splinted is unreal. Damaged ribs hurt from just BREATHING but she has cracked ribs and is okay being hauled around and then wants him to make love to her. Between an utter lack of verisimilitude and a formula I just can't handle reading again after two books, I'm done.

After the cliffhanger in the last book, I couldn’t wait to read Lucy‘s Story. Scarlett outed her brother and finding out what happened was my numbers 1 goal!
This story is heartbreaking, it keeps you on edge with lots of anxiety.
I literally flew through this story, suddenly it ended and I was like, what no, i need more!

No one puts their heroines through absolute torture like Jane Blythe does. The torture was a little hard to read at times. Lucy is such a strong woman. My heart broke for Zander. He’s been through so much. Lucy and Zander’s love story is so sweet, even though they were in a life and death situation.

Lucy and Zander’s story was exciting, adventurous and steamy.
After the end of the first book and the revelation we had I couldn’t wait and was not disappointed.

This book is a great read. Lucy and Zander are put thru their paces. They go thru a lot as a couple. This series just keeps getting better with each book. I can’t wait for the next book. This book ends with a cliffhanger.
