We've read other Julia Jarman books, most recently the Big Red Bath with it's splish splash splosh. Miss 3 likes that the characters joining the kids can all be spotted in the background as a toy or slippers or room decoration. This one is a little different in that they go through different environments (like the jungle, desert, snow etc.) instead of largely being restricted to one room. Miss 3 liked the beach birthday party that the train goes to.

A great book for young children. There's so much going on in the story and the large, colourful illustrations gives children plenty to point out and talk about. Hope to check out other books by this author.

Jarman and Reynolds have created an awsome adventure story. The main characters Bella and Ben introduce children to excellent vocabulary that will aid development in literacy. This would be an excellent resource in an early years setting as it also teaches children about the world around them. Children are transported to the north pole, desert and a jungle. The illusrtations bring the story alive for the children and the whole class were engaged throughout.
