Heroes of Sleepy Hollow #3
Rosalyn's Hero
In one terrible moment, my dream was snatched away from me.
After years of hard work, I was finally living my dream.
It seemed so perfect—opening my own studio in Sleepy Hollow, making a living off my art, and enjoying the quiet peace of small-town life.
Or so I thought.
But it only took a few minutes for everything to fall apart.
The place I thought would be my sanctuary turned into the scene of a nightmare. My studio broken into, destroyed, and I was caught in the middle of it. And the one responsible showed me no mercy.
Now I’m hurt. Scared. Alone. And I don’t know if I’ll ever paint again.
The last thing I was looking for was a relationship.
I’d already been burned once, and I wasn’t looking to risk my heart again.
Plus, between running my business, working as a volunteer firefighter, and spending time with my friends, I had more than enough to keep me busy.
But when one of my friends set me up with Rose, there was something that drew me to her. She was sweet. Creative. And the most beautiful woman I’d ever seen.
Still. She deserved a man who could give her a real relationship, and I wasn’t sure that was me.
Until I show up at a call and find Rose in trouble—terrified, injured—and all I can think about is taking care of her.
For Rose, it might be worth taking the risk.
Rosalyn’s Hero is the third novel in the small-town romantic suspense series, Heroes of Sleepy Hollow . It has a protective firefighter hero, a sweet and artistic heroine, action and danger, forced proximity, twists and turns, and plenty of sweet and steamy moments. (Can be read as a standalone novel.)
Heroes of Sleepy Hollow follows the stories of the first responders of Sleepy Hollow working alongside the Blade and Arrow Security team. Expect to see cameos of your favorite B&A characters throughout this series!

What a great love story between Rosalyn aka Rose and Ian. Rose is an artist, and her paintings are selling well. Ian is a fireman and a part time owner of a gym. But let me tell you how it all started. Rose had moved to Sleepy Hollow for the peace and quiet a small town has to offer. Finally, my dreams are coming true, I have my own studio, my art is selling, and I get to do what I love, paint. I loved living here, but one incident changed all of that. I was working late one night in my studio, and someone robbed me. I gave him all of the money I had but he still was not happy. He hit me and I fell to the floor, then he kicked me in the ribs a few times and just when I thought it was all over, he stepped on my hand and ground his boot into my hand.
The pain was instant, and I knew something was terribly wrong. I dragged my way over to the closet and then I called 911 and told the operator I needed help. I was so terrified and crying. Finally, the fire department got there and the EMT was trying to get me to come out of the closet, but I was too afraid. Finally, Ian a fireman that I had went out with once came in and talked me out so they could help me and attend to my wounds. I could tell by the looks on their faces that I was probably never going to paint again. Ian seemed to be having a hard time with the condition that the robber had left me in. He was having a hard time keeping his temper and kept trying to soothe my fears. He rode to the hospital with me and stayed by my bedside until they kicked him out.
Ian wanted to find out who had hurt me, and he knew some guys from Blade and Arrow Security and when he explained what had happened to me, they decided to help me out at no charge. How wonderful because I knew I would have no income for a while since I could not paint with my hand. The Doctor said they would be doing surgery and with therapy I should be able to paint later.
Ian came to see me almost every day while I was in the hospital and continued coming to see me when I got home. He is such a nice man and so very handsome too. With being a fireman and a gym owner too his body is well toned and muscular. We had been having meals together and watching movies or tv. I kept promising him a home-cooked meal when my hand was a little better. So, tonight was the night I had invited Ian over for dinner and planned a great meal for him. I peeled some onions and then realized that I needed to take the garbage out and I had trouble with getting the bag in the dumpster with just one hand. All of a sudden someone reached around me and grabbed the bag and tossed it in the dumpster. I thought it was Ian. But when I turned around it was a total stranger and he smelled terrible. He was trying to paw at me, and I kept screaming and not one came. He dragged me into the garage, licked my face and told me what he was going to do to me. I was praying please Lord not again. He just reached out to rip my dress off and a hand grabbed him on the shoulder, turned him around and hit him right in the face. Thank God Ian was here. He wrestled the guy to the ground, I found him some rope to tie him up until the police came. This time I was not hurt just scared to death and I could not quit shaking and crying. Why is this happening to me? Did someone hire these people to hurt me? I am so glad and thankful that Ian came over and we have the Blade and Arrow team investigating these attacks.

⭐⭐⭐⭐½ – A moving, emotional, and romantic journey of healing and love
Rosalyn's Hero is a gripping, emotional love story about strength, trauma, and finding safety—and love—in the arms of the right person.
Rosalyn (aka Rose) is an artist living in the quiet town of Sleepy Hollow, finally living her dream: painting full-time and selling her art from her own studio. But one terrifying night changes everything. A brutal robbery leaves her physically and emotionally scarred, with serious injuries to her hand—the hand she needs to create. The scene is intense and heartbreaking, and you truly feel her fear and vulnerability.
Enter Ian, a fireman with a protective streak a mile wide, and the quiet kind of strength that makes him unforgettable. After responding to the 911 call, Ian is the one who gently coaxes Rose out of hiding, stays by her side at the hospital, and refuses to leave her alone through the worst moment of her life. It’s impossible not to fall for him right alongside her.
What really sets this story apart is how it balances emotional recovery with slow-burn romance. Ian doesn’t push her—he supports, protects, and shows up, over and over again. From organizing help through Blade and Arrow Security to just sitting with her and watching TV, he proves that love sometimes looks like consistency and quiet comfort.
But just when Rose begins to feel safe again, another terrifying incident shakes her world. This time, though, she’s not alone—and Ian proves that he’ll always fight for her, no matter what.
💖 Highlights:
A heroine who’s vulnerable but resilient
A hero who is protective, gentle, and strong
Real, emotionally raw trauma and recovery
A small-town setting with suspense and warmth
A romance built on trust, comfort, and emotional safety
If you love stories where the hero truly shows up, where love is earned through patience and action—not just words—this is the book for you. Rosalyn and Ian’s journey is one of heartbreak, healing, and genuine devotion. I only wish we had even more time with them as a couple after all the trauma—it’s the kind of love story that deserves a happily-ever-after we can really feel.
4.5 stars. A beautiful, emotional read with just the right blend of romance and suspense.

Wow, "Rosalyn's Hero" was a fantastic book!! Rosalyn (Rose) is an artist that moved from NYC to Sleepy Hollow to have a peaceful place to continue her painting in her own art studio. However, that dream was quickly crushed when her studio was broken into and destroyed and she was attacked, beaten, and her painting hand crushed and broken. Ian, a volunteer firefighter, is called with his team to her studio to rescue and treat Rose. She is hiding in the closet, and he helps her out, discovering the degree of her injuries. It wasn't a random attack.
Ian becomes her protector, and their relationship shifts from one of solely friendship to a romantic one. She is slowly recovering from here injuries when she is attacked again in her garage. This time she has self-defense moves that Ian taught her. They are no closer to discovering who is behind the attacks until there is a break. It is a real surprise that is so unexpected!
As usual, Gia Cobie keeps the reader's attention from the very first chapter. Her ability to thread romance, danger, intrigue and unexpected outcomes (besides the HEA!) makes all her books’ winners. "Rosalyn's Hero" is no exception.

This is a third book in a series of heros, and I did not read the first two. I don't think you have to, to understand what is going on in this book or enjoy it. Though, I looked up the previous ones and all the characters are in this book....so it would be fun to know their back stories. With all that said, this was an interesting plot. Rose moves to Sleepy Hollow from the city and opens up her own little art studio. She was attacked one night and Ian, a man she had just had one date with, is there as a fire fighter. Ian didn't really want a relationship after his divorce, but he cant help but be drawn to Rose and want to help her. There were a few twists in turns in the book as we try to figure out why Rose was attacked...and that part of the book was interesting. But unfortunately, I never really felt chemistry between Ian and Rose. Perhaps if the book would have started with their first date before the attack, I would have had more of a connection to the relationship? But since we jump into the attack and then watch as Ian struggles with if he wants to try something with her....there wasn't as much spark there. Either way, it was an interesting book.

Rosalyn's story had a lot of heartbreak to it. Painting was her absolute passion and it seems like it was a true talent that she had. Then, her studio was broken into and she was injured in a way that was going to affect her ability to paint, possibly forever. Her fear, sadness, and anguish about her future were made palpable with Gia Cobie's writing abilities. My heart shattered for Rosalyn and all that she was feeling and going through. She was really at the end of her rope and it was made even more frustrating since the whole reason she moved to Sleepy Hollow from the city was to have some peace and quiet.
Ian is such a sweetheart and I loved that he was all about friendship and had no intentions of things becoming romantic. He saw Rose and his heart broke for her and what she had been through in the same way that mine did as a reader. The natural progression of their relationship was absolutely beautiful. I was once again hooked from start to finish, which is no surprise with a Gia Cobie novel at this point.

Rosalyn Spencer felt positive about her decision to leave the city and settle in Sleepy Hollow. Her hard work has paid off in her success with her paintings and now her new studio. She feels safe in this small town, at least she did until that night. Someone broke into her studio, harming her and intent on destroying her new life. Will she ever be able to paint again? Ian Reilly, co-owner of a local gym and a volunteer firefighter and paramedic answers the emergency call. He had only met Rose once, but he is filled with rage towards the person who did this to her. Though the police believe this was a random attack, Ian steps in to offer his protection and self-defense lessons. As they spend time together, there is something happening between them, but is it too soon? After another threat, Ian’s friends at Blade and Arrow Security dig deeper into the lives of those who may resent Rose’s success. Will she once again be able to enjoy her love of painting? Non-stop action and suspense As Ian vows to keep her safe. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (paytonpuppy)

As soon as i started reading this book, I had Kleenex next to me. Rosalyn was an artist that moved to the small town of Sleepy Hollow and setup a studio. As she was cleaning up one night, she heard someone come in and then she was brutely attacked. All of the artwork she had was also slashed and the entire studio in shambles.
Ian who is a volunteer firefighter found her hiding in a closet and it took some time for him to get her out of the closet in order to assess her injuries and get her into an ambulance.
Her injuries are extensive and the Dr. isn't sure she will ever be able to paint again.
For reasons unknown to Rosalyn Ian spends time with her at the hospital and also after she is released.
Ian spends more time with Rosalyn mostly at her home because she feels safe there until she is attacked again. But this time, she is ready; Ian has taught her self-defense moves. Ian comes in and the attacker runs away.
Rosalyn cannot figure out who would want to hurt her. Ian and her go through all her friends, contacts, etc. but she still can't imagine anyone wanting to hurt her that bad.
As usual, Gia keeps us on the end of our seats with her storyline. I won't go any further, but just to say this is a must read. You will not be disappointed, and you will not see how it ends.

This is part of the Heroes of Sleep Hollow Series and a book written in Susan Stoker’s Operation Alpha World. Roselyn is an artist who recently moved to Sleepy Hollow and bough an art studio in an effort to escape the fast pace of NYC. She meets and has a coffee date with volunteer firefighter and gym owner, Ian. Ian is dealing with the aftermath of a bad marriage and he isn’t really interested in dating. When Roselyn is brutally attacked and Ian is one of the responding firefighters he initially struggles with is desire not to be in a relationship with a need to take care of Roselyn. When Roselyn is attacked a second time Ian vows to keep her safe.
I loved this book, if you like heroine in peril and protector novels this one checks all the boxes. It has just enough steam and a sprinkle of suspense that makes the story interesting and keeps you turning the page to figure out what happens next. This is my first Gia Cobie novel but it won’t be my last. Great book and a great read if you are a fan of Susan Stoker and the Operation Alpha Universe of novels.

Rosalyn's Hero: Heroes of Sleep Hollow Book 3 by Gia Cobie is a really fun, entertaining and adventurous read. While the 3rd in there series, reading the previous 2 are not required, but recommended as someone who didn't read the previous 2 prior to reading book 3.
This novel follows Rosalyn, an artist who recently moved to Sleepy Hollow and opened an art studio. Rosalyn meets and goes on a date with volunteer firefighter and gym owner, Ian. Ian is dealing with the aftermath of a bad marriage and isn’t really interested in dating at the time. Then, Rosalyn is attacked and Ian is one of the responding firefighters. This creates a dilemma for Ian as he now wants to protect Rosalyn. Additional events change Ian's mind definitively but how does Rosalyn feel about Ian's decision?
This novel is for you do you like the knight in shining armour theme, especially if you like a sexy firefighter too! This novel has just enough steam and a bit of suspense that keeps it interesting and exiting. It is extremely well written, has a great storyline and the characters are well developed and relatable.

Typical of Gia’s books, I could not put it down once I started it. It was always just one more chapter then I’ll go do something. Never happened, and not disappointed either. Rose as she prefers to be called is attacked in her art studio, her dominant painting hand is broken. And she is in fear, but soon the local volunteer fire department shows up and Ian, a guy she dated once is able to calm her down and help get her to the hospital. He feels very protective of her and comes back several times and finds that he is more than slightly attracted to her. Problem is a past marriage is still lingering in his head of all the bad things that happen in a relationship. Yet despite that he continues, as does she, to fall for each other. Blade and Arrow gets involved due to another attack on Rose and Ian realizes he is falling deeper in love with her. The person responsible is not one I saw coming, but as with all of Gia’s books there is a HEA. Highly recommend any of her books, just don’t plan on getting anything done until you finish it.

Thos book deserves more than 5 stars just for the emotional feelings expressed by all the characters. Rosalyn's Hero is full of suspense, family, twists and turns from first to last page. The friendship, small town vibe and all the Blade and Arrow characters you've met before as well as one of the best cinnamon roll heroes I have ever read. I connected with both Ian and Rosalyn from the very beginning and it just grew from there. The storyline is intense, characters are perfectly written and the suspense with the attacks and the twist at the end will make you not be able to put this book down. This author has a personal connection with every character she writes and she lives up to that promise in this book. The main characters work for their HEA and it will steal your heart as you go along the journey with them. I be sure to check out others books by this author. She will amaze you with every book.

Rosalyn is finally living her dream. She was making a living as an artist, and about to open her studio/store. She was working after midnight for the set up in Sleepy Hollow, which has hardly any crime. Her cousin Drake is worried about her being alone, but he is out in New Mexico with his wife, Alaska. She grew up with Drake and they act more like siblings. She is attacked and left badly hurt when she calls 911. Ian is a volunteer firefighter and paramedic and his crew responds and he is very upset because he knows her. I love Ian because he is just so awesome. I hate that she was hurt in the way she was. I love that Ian is so protective of her. We get to see Zane and the others from Blade and Arrow. This whole series is a must read. Reading all of the books, you get butterflies, and get engrossed in the characters. I can’t wait for the next book.

There was a lot of tension and mystery around who was out to hurt Rosalyn. She was gentle, quiet and new to Sleepy Hollow, so who could want to hurt her with her innocence and sweetness?
Ian, who'd been on a date with her a week before her first physical altercation and was on volunteer duty with the ambulance service in town when she was attacked. The two became very close and it was immediate care for the other in their relationship. Ian was so caring, compassionate and thoughtful for Rose and his strength and loyalty made her swoon for him. However, they still had the person at large who wanted to hurt Rose through numerous attacks. It wasn't easy find the culprit and lots of twists and turns in the story til the end.
The other townspeople in Sleepy Hollow were caring and true friends to both Ian and Rose and helped them throughout the story. Easy to like these townsfolk.

Fate determined they would be together...
....but circumstances sped the process up.
Ian and Rose have an undeniable chemistry, but both are wary and therefore would have danced around their attraction....for months. A horrific attack forces them to face each other again, forces Ian to admit to himself exactly how he feels and allows Rose to find safety in his arms. Whilst Ian is initially resistant, seeing a battered and bruised Rose makes him realise just what he could have lost and from that point forward he is all in. He sweeps her off her feet, woos her, romances her, supports he when she needs it, holds her because he can and willingly hands his heart over.....swoon!
I love these Heroes of Sleepy Hollow who would deny that they are heroes every single day, we also get the gorgeous Blade and Arrow clan too - always a bonus, and finally the amazing women who claim all their hearts.
I read this on Kindle Unlimited.

Steamy, emotional, “get lost in” romance…
When a plot and characters are so good that I forget about anything else, I am happy to get lost in it. Once again, this author knew how to weave in romantic elements combined with strong main characters, supportive secondary ones and captivating dialogue and plot to bind them all…
Ian and Rose were not looking for each other – not in a life-long, stay together to the end type of way. Not to say they weren’t friends or hoping for a spark. That quickly changed when Rose’s life was in danger and the hunt for answers – and the culprit – were on. At times vulnerable, and others strong as steel, Rose didn’t need a saviour. What she found though was a champion. Ian needed answers as Rose became more important to him, and her safety and well-being was soon tied to his… Loved it!

In Rosalyn's Hero. Rose has recently moved to Sleepy Hollow and has opened up an art studio, ready for a quiet life away from the hustle and bustle of New York City. When Rose is in the studio one evening and a break in occurs. The assailant breaks her hand and leaves her studio destroyed.
Ian who is a volunteer as well as runs a gym with some friends. Is on call the night the attack happens, he is shocked to learn its Rose who he previously went on a date with. I loved the relationship between Ian and Rose. Ian is so sweet with her, arranging for her to get security cameras at her place. Checking up on her etc. Rose is shaken from her encounter and watching her grow in confidence even after everything that happens is heatwarming to read. If you like your romance with some suspense then Rosalyn's Hero is your kind of book. Get ready to fall in love with our hero and heroine. Ian is definately book material boyfriend. 4 stars for me. An excellent book. I love books where I can like and respect both characters. Many times when bad things happen, it is how you react that defines you.
Both the characters have been hurt, Rose physically, mentally, and emotionally. Ian damage is more mental and emotional. Rose has to deal with being physically attacked and the emotional damage of her safe place being destroyed as well as a devastating injury. Ian, though physically fine, is dealing with emotional betrayal. It is great to see how both of them deal with their obstacles and the help they get.
A great bittersweet story of survivors, definitely not victims. Whatever happens together, these two (with a little help at times) will overcome. This book can be read as a standalone, but there are great characters who have appeared in their own books in the series.

Rose leaves the big dangerous city for Sleepy Hollow where she should feel safe and comfortable. Sadly, she’s in the wrong place at the wrong time when her studio is broken into and she gets badly roughed up. After making a call for help, Ian arrives as part of the 1st responder team and realizes that Rose is the nice person that he recently had a date with. Ian is drawn to Rose and decides to visit her as she is recovering. They start out as just friends but as time progresses and more things happen, they both take another look at their feelings. This is a great story with strong characters; Rose does not sit back and play the victim as she learns how to defend herself and throws herself into helping solve the mystery of who is after her.

Ian is part owner of a gym and a volunteer firefighter, he's been on one date with Rose, but although attracted to her, hadn't set up a second one. Then they get the call that she's been attacked.
Rose moved from New York to Sleepy Hollow because she didn't like the hustle and bustle, and now she's established herself as an artist she doesn't need to be there. Amongst her injuries is a very damaged right hand, will she ever paint again?
Ian calls to check on her and realises that he feels more for her than he thought, can he overcome his past issues?
Rose has feelings for Ian, he treats her so well and she's not used to it. She's so afraid to be left alone. Then things escalate. Who is targeting her and why?

Another great romantic suspense from Gia

Rose and Ian's story is the perfect mix of suspense and romance. It's steamy but sweet, they're so perfect together. The book is set in the Blade and Arrow Security world and is the third book in the Heroes of Sleepy Hollow series. You can read it as a standalone and will see previous characters pop in from time to time. Rose is a successful artist, shy and sweet she moved to Sleepy Hallow to get out of the big city. Ian owns a gym in Sleepy Hallow and volunteers at the local firehouse. He's not looking for a relationship after his divorce but with Rose he feels like there could be more but someone its trying to hurt Rose and ruin her career as a painter. Can't wait to read Scarlett's story next. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

An artist attacked in her studio, rescued by her coffee date, volunteer paramedic… drama, suspense, and an HEA
Rose (Rosalyn) and Ian have chemistry over their coffee date, but Ian, a divorcee is gun shy about dating again and he’s only comfortable with texts after the day date… until Rose is attached in her studio and he’s one of the volunteer firefighter/paramedics to her rescue.
While soothing Rose and helping her with her injuries and fear, a real relationship forms.
I loved their chemistry from the first on page interaction. I loved the drama and suspense, and knew the first suspect wasn’t the most dangerous one, but it was great to read how it all played out.
There is a very happy ending, and enough physical interaction to keep the story spicy.

Wow wow wow . I have loved each and every story so far in this series but this story .. 🥰 Rose and Ian's story has to be one of my favorites . Let's start with believing in your dreams and achieving them . Rose is someone to look up to with her love, her dedication to something she loves and not giving up . Ian is the most sweet, caring, strong, loving, compassionate person who is looking out for everyone. We get a snap shot of some of the b&a group which is fantastic . The descriptions are out of this world making you get pulled into the story . Suspense, love, friendships.. it has it all and I could not pout it down . A must read .

Gia Cobie has given us another suspenseful page turning visit to Sleepy Hollow you won’t want to miss. Even though this can be a standalone, I suggest you read the others in this interconnected series to enhance this one. Rose, a talented artist, has moved to Sleepy Hollow to get away from the big city. A night of terror when she is attacked in her studio leads to her finding Ian. Well written as usual, you can feel the fear and anguish that Rose and Ian have as they face unknown evil. I loved how Ian and Rose’s relationship grows and becomes the “gift that came out of darkness.” Awesome read.
I received an advanced reader copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.

August 1, 2024I enjoyed the story. Rosalyn/Rose moved to Sleepy Hollow as a new start and to open her own art gallery. Its a quiet and crime free area to open her business away from New York. Ian is a firefighter and co owner of a gym in town. He and Rose went on a date a little while ago and haven't seen each other since. Late one evening as she is getting ready to leave the gallery and head for home, a guy breaks in and destroys the gallery and assaults her. Ian and his crew are called to respond to the call. He is horrified over the incident. Who hurt her and why. Must read to find out. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Another great book from an author who has rapidly become a go-to. Each time I read one of her books I think I have found my favourite, and then the next one comes along! This book really has it all, a steamy romance, excitement, suspense, teamwork, camaraderie, and I absolutely loved it. This book can be read as a standalone, however it was great to catch up with friends from previous books in the Sleepy Hollow series, and also the team from Blade and Arrow. I cannot recommend this author highly enough and eagerly await what she has next.

Gia gives us warm fizzes as we meet Rose & Ian. How can you not adore a man who wants to protect & does protect the woman who has his heart. Ian fights the unknown to protect Rose. You enjoy the confusion & venerability he shows. Rose is just beautiful as she keeps putting a foot forward no matter how scared she is. You obviously love the men & women from B& A who appear & give us love & laughter. So much beautiful moments overshadow the danger & pain but gives us everything to love & enjoy the read. Honest review

Really enjoyable story. Rose has moved to Sleepy Hollow for a quieter life and to concentrate on her painting. She makes friends and goes on a date with Ian but he’s not looking for a relationship…. Or so he thinks. Rose is attacked and Ian is one of the first responders on scene.
I enjoyed the book, it’s got lots of twists and turns. Plenty of mystery. Added to this, Rose and Ian get a second chance at a relationship. All in all it’s a great book and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

Great book! Loved the action and drama.
When Rose's studio is broken into and she is hurt, firefighter Ian steps in to protect her from more threats.
Fast paced and action packed. This book had everything a great suspense book needs and then some. Gia knows how to bring us characters that make us feel good even though they are going through so much. Much like life I guess.
Very well written. I enjoyed the whole experience with this book. The plot, the characters and the romance.
So good!!

Really enjoyed this story. Rose was a nice person, an accomplished artist, who was being targeted and attacked for some unknown reason. Ian was on hand to take care of her and, though he tried to keep his distance and his heart safe, Rose’s sweetness kept drawing him back. No matter what is thrown at her, Rose keeps standing up and fighting back. She had really found a home in Sleepy Hollow - good friends and a hot guy. Good steam, good suspense, good read!
