A wonderful series of books set in Penworth Bay, Cornwall, at a bakery. Run by Elsie, the Cornish Bakery is one of a kind. It's run by staff who have become family and each month Elsie has a volunteer, in return for a room they help in the bakery and so far, each one has found what they've been looking for, love.
In this book, Erin has volunteered. She's about to start work in America after gaining the promotion she's wanted and worked for. She's recently divorced, and her ex was her boss, so the promotion came at the right time. Her best friend, Tim, lives in Cornwall, so she's taking the time to meet up with him, too.
I really enjoy reading this series. It's ideal for binge reading. The books are all standalone stories, but they are best read in order of publication to preserve continuity of the characters and wider storyline.
When I read book 20 about the little cornish bakery I thought it was the last one. When this one came up on my kindle I was so happy but did a double check it wasn't one I had already read. Luckily for me it was actually one I hadn't read. I was so happy, intact so happy I read it in a day. I'm now looking forward to the next instalment. I would say read all the books in the series. They are all worth the wait.
I have enjoyed every book in this series - each volunteer comes with a problem but by the end of the book it’s all been sorted and happiness reigns! Such a brilliant series and nice people involved. Can’t wait for the next one x
Another book about The Cornish bakery. I have loved every one of these’s books. They show just what family means in lots of different ways. And how love will always find away to make to people love each other.
Erin is spending time with her best friend Tim, before taking up a promotion in America. When Tim tells her his feelings have moved beyond friendship, she is confused, but after wise words from Ian and manipulation from Elsie, she decides to follow her heart.
Very enjoyable to read.I have read 14 of The Cornish Bakery books and each one is just as good as the first one .I can't wait to read the next 9 books.
As usual Sarah gets just the right amount of love, laughter of a happy ending , just what you want as a light read or like me after being poorly something to make you smile .We could all do with an Elsie in our lives. Definitely worth the 5star rating.
