“This one’s faulty. It has some, uh, quirks.” His voice is low and mischievous and his description almost makes the toy sound dirty. Is he flirting with me? He smiles at me again. “But I’ll give you a deal, if you want it.”
Chloe is drawn to a toy store where she acquires a cute new furry friend with some quirks. It might be faulty, but Chloe is not disappointed when she finds that her new toy has a similar idea of fun. She and her coworker, Kyle, discover together how fun playtime can be with their new friend.
Faulty is book 2 in the Kyleverse, a series of sentient object romance short stories. Kyle isn't the main character, but he shows up to help the plot in one way or another. The stories are sequential but can be read as standalones. Book 1: Rake Book 2: Faulty
Faulty is a sentient object romance with explicit material. It is intended for 18+ readers.
Nicole Parker is the author of creative and humorous romance stories. She is a 30-something California native who spends the great majority of her free time writing books, reading books, or organizing her ever growing TBR list. She also has a spouse, some kids, and pets, but this isn't about them. Nicole's books are funny, raunchy, silly, and most importantly full of good vibes and happy endings.
Just look at his crazy eyes. I’m so glad I never had one because who knew what horrors he was packing behind his battery door 😱 ‼️
So any other sentient romances that can ruin a Millennial childhood? There’s this guy 👆🏻, the kool aid man, what’s next? Barney? Elmo? Tony the Tiger? Good gawd noooo!
Saw this mentioned on Threads and it seems like a wild ride.. so here I am.

Coming back now that I’ve read this. This book was crazy but for some reason I liked it? I’m not sure what that says about me but this was entertaining and humorous. It’s fun to read books that seem completely unhinged. I used to have a Furby but it definitely didn’t do what this one does!
I think this is one of the most unserious books that I’ve read. Things definitely get spicy though even though this is incredibly short.
Know what I didn't know I needed? The fucking Kyleverse. This made my day. Bless you, Nicole Parker, for (not!)Furby dirty talk, and for Kyle, best fwb ever.
BIG fan of Kyle and Flurbo. This Flurbo is anything but faulty. Just add some AA batteries and night time and the magic happens! This was such a fun and silly story. Remember those orange push pops? How delicious and neon orange they were? All the nostalgia and silly goofy delicious smut. Nicole absolutely nailed this. I loved getting more of Kyle and I cannot wait to see what Nicole writes next!
Okay this was completely bonkers. I’ll never look at a furby the same ever again. 😂🫣 Imagine waking up to a 7 foot tall furby in your room who’s there to make you happy. This toy was considered faulty by the shop owner but Chloe sure doesn’t think so.
It gets a gleaming 5 stars from me. Am I going to hell for this? Absolutely. I was already destined to go there long before reading this though. 😈
So, I just read a Furby like erotica and I’m not sure how I feel….😅. The toy is referred to as Furbo, but if you know you know. In case you’re wondering this isn’t a shifter situation, it’s literally a Furby like toy. This may take the cake for the weirdest book I’ve read this year.
I can't believe I'm sat here trying to do a review write-up for this sentient object romance but here we are. This was a fun one to buddy read and have a giggle over with a couple of friends. I think the writing in this could've definitely been more humourous, but I applaud the creativity in the smut and definitely didn't see the book reaching that... climax. Also, personally as a "good girl" enjoyer, I've got to say I'm trying not to let this book taint that phrase for me. Fingers crossed we will get to more of the books in this series, although I've got to say I'm not won over by Kyle so far. 3 stars
Yall - you see the cover right? You know what that is 😌 literally walk into this knowing it's a silly 40 ish page weird smut novella and it's absolutely worth checking out. What happens between our 7 foot fluffy monster and the FMC is fun. She even has more than willing co-worker who is super helpful at times. 🤣
For anyone thinking about writing - literally just do it. Don't like life seriously because this had me giggling through the whole thing.
I can't decide if this was scary or not. I liked Kyle. Surprisingly. More than the furby. The furby was just kind of there. Didn't add much for me other than the push pop flavor. I think maybe I just don't like objects with fur and movable ears.
Absolutely incredible and hilarious. I think I’m in love with Kyle. Also I’m so impressed that Nicole took the time to come up with an entirely new language, what a legend 🙌🏽
Has your feed been flooded with cursed reels of toys from your childhood? Do you like sentient object romance? Read this book! Kyle is back and he’s the perfect wingman if you have anything coming alive and wanting to get frisky. I read this in one setting and couldn’t stop laughing at the Flurbo speech and by the time it was over I had to message Nicole and ask how the hell she made this kind of hot.
