Still the Greek's Wife is an arranged marriage, awakened by desire, Greek billionaire romance by Emmy Grayson.
What his wife wants: A night with her husband!
Tessa. My marriage to Greek billionaire Rafael Drakos wasn’t the whirlwind union I desperately wanted it to be. Discovering that opened my eyes to how sheltered my existence really is. I’ll no longer deny myself the love and passion I deserve—so I want a divorce…
Rafe. My convenient bride can’t have what she wants…yet. Not until we’ve been wed a year and I can inherit my birthright. Still, I don’t expect what innocent Tessa requests in return: a wedding night. Or the wildfire of raw need it unleashes in me!

Emmy's interest in romance can be traced back to her love of Nancy Drew books, when she tried to solve the mysteries of her favorite detective while rereading the romantic chapters with Ned Nickerson. Fast-forward a few years when she discovered a worn copy of "A Rose in Winter" by Kathleen Woodiwiss on her mother's bookshelf, and she was hooked. Over 20 years later, Harlequin Presents made her dream come true by offering her a contract for her first book.
When Emmy isn't writing or reading, she's chasing around her baby boy, feeding her menagerie of fur babies or carving out a little time on her front porch with her firefighter hubby.
Emmy Grayson’s Still the Greek’s Wife offers two people who seem to want very different things.
Rafe and Tessa entered into a business deal, marriage. But Tessa is unable to fulfill her end of the deal and wants a divorce. She wants her husband desiring a real marriage and counters their original deal.
Rafe is unwilling to accept her decision to end the marriage. He wants and needs her to complete the contract.
I received an arc of this book for an honest review. Thanks to Harlequin and NetGalley.
Still The Greek’s Wife is the second title in the Brides for Greek Brothers series, this time giving us an empowering romance between Tessa and Rafe, one that is both insightful and seductive.
The evil, deceased Lucifer Drakos strikes again, this time against his son Rafe, who must marry and stay married for a year or forfeit his inheritance. Dear ol’ dead abusive, nasty dad just keeps on giving, doesn’t he?! I liked Rafe, enjoyed his transformation from a cold spreadsheet kind of hero to a man who has learned, the hard way, that not opening up his emotions to the woman who loves him (and he loves in return) will mean more than the ending of a marriage, but the end of hope for a man raised as he was.
Yet it was Tessa who really stood out for me in this story. Tessa was in an accident when she was a child, which resulted in partial paralysis, using a wheelchair at times, or arm brace canes (crutches) at other times. There is no cure, no miracle that will allow her to run through the meadows by the story’s ending. This is Tessa’s life, and personally, as a woman who had fallen and broken my tailbone, resulting in a situation close to Tessa’s… well, let’s just say that I can personally relate to Tessa on a deeper level. When a disability is assigned to a character, I want/need it to be a part of their life, not a plot line or a convenient way to explain away other things. Life happens, and it’s how we realistically treat those events that will always draw me deeper into any believable story about them.
Tessa’s overprotective, smothering mother is a driving reality for Tessa’s decision to marry Rafe. Oh, she’s had a crush on him for years, might even be halfway in love with him. But marriage will give her freedom, a chance to live her life independently, perhaps even find love and a family one day when this marriage of convenience is behind her. Tessa is very good at the career she’s chosen as a designer of assistive living solutions for people in similar situations who face a world that is not designed for anything different than so-called “normal”. She and Rafe have been living separate lives since their marriage. She’s thriving now, completely independent from her mother, and ready for the divorce that she’s filed for… only Rafe needs her to remain in the marriage for the full year to fulfill the obligations of his father’s will.
Tessa will agree on one condition. A real marriage, physical intimacy included. Otherwise, she’s out of here. She’ll get her wish, and a lot more than she’d bargained for.
I enjoyed Still The Greek’s Wife by Emmy Grayson so much. It’s a well-written, emotional, and believable romance between two people who have their own issues to be dealt with along the way. Watching Rafe let down his walls and open himself up to the emotions that Tessa brings out in him was an emotional, satisfying journey. If that’s your kind of romance, then you’d love this one.
Harlequin novels just drop you right in the action. Normally I love this but I was confused for a couple chapters figuring out what was going on as a bunch of family dynamics, characters and stuff about marriage to acquire a company and a will were explained. There was a lot and I don’t think reading book 1 would have helped.
But after all that is explained it’s a classic marriage of convenience with a man that #cantlove because of #baddad and a lady that has overcome being partially paralyzed as a child and having to basically run away at age 28 to have her own life. Tessa is a kind soul, smart, determined to live her life and design home solutions for people with disabilities that require accommodations. Tessa herself is a wheelchair and arm brace user. Rafe is a billionaire with a truly terrible dead dad. We know Dad was psychologically abusive but not why he required his 3 sons to get married and stay married for a year to inherit his company and wealth. Seems weird for a guy that didn’t value his family or relationships. But romance reasons.
Tessa and Rafe are married for a few months but have lived separately. She has just filed for divorce when Rafe shows up in Paris to convince her to stay married 8 more months. She agrees, but only if he will be her first lover. Rafe needs to get out his Excel spreadsheet to calculate the pros and cons before agreeing. Then off they go to Greece for a few weeks of making out, scuba diving, getting closer then making things awkward.
Eventually Tessa knows she loves Rafe but won’t stay with Mr #cantlove . Rafe has to get his head out of his ass and realize he’s miserable without this woman.
I did appreciate a character with a disability being a lead in a Romance and getting a happy ending. I think her experience was handled well by the author.
Still the Greek’s Wife is an angsty, escapist billionaire romance that delivers both heart and heat. Greek billionaire Rafe marries Tessa to secure his inheritance, while Tessa agrees to the arrangement as a way to break free from her overbearing mother and build an independent life. Four months later, she’s thriving in Paris and ready to file for divorce—but Rafe isn’t quite ready to let her go.
Rafe starts off cold and emotionally distant, but beneath his aloof exterior is a man who deeply cares and just needs the right nudge to open up. Tessa is a strong, likable heroine who knows her worth and doesn’t hesitate to stand up for herself. Their emotional journey, from obligation to genuine connection, is satisfying and well-paced.
One of the standout aspects of this book is its thoughtful disability representation. Tessa lives with partial paralysis and uses crutches or a wheelchair—not as a dramatic plot device, but as a natural part of her life. There’s no miracle cure or pity-driven narrative, which is a refreshing and respectful approach.
This is a quick, enjoyable read with strong secondary characters that help set up the rest of the series. It’s dramatic and a bit over-the-top at times, but it works—especially thanks to Tessa’s strength and Rafe’s eventual emotional growth.
Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC in return for my honest review.
Rafe is so emotionally damaged by his father (and a bit by his mother) that he refuses to feel emotions, to deal with emotions or to even find out more about his wife of four months physical disability. Not cool. He's 41 and married Tessa in a marriage of convenience, name only business deal. That deal is finalized, but now he needs to remain married to Tessa for another eight months to fulfill his fathers will, another deal so to speak. Since deals are the only currency he understands, Tessa, 28, a virgin still after four months of marriage lived apart wants a divorce so she can find someone to love her and start a family with her. She was in a twisted relationship with her mother and only broke away from her controlling mother when she overheard Rafe's real reasons for marrying her. She had been in love with him for nine years. Now, her deal is, teach her about sex and she'll remain married to Rafe for nine months to fulfill his fathers will.
I liked that Tessa was finally metaphorically learning to stand on her own two feet on her terms and leaving her former life and wheelchair behind. And her marriage. She's a millionaire in her own right and starting over in Paris. Rafe is a billionaire and its not money she wants...its love and a family.
Tessa had an accident as a child, and it left her in a wheelchair or she has to use crutches. Her mother blame herself and ended up smothering and sheltering Tessa for years. Finally Tessa will have her freedom thanks to the wealthy, handsome Rafe. She has had a crush on him when she was young. He wants to marry her in a marriage of convenience. She hopes that maybe he will fall for her in the long run. So naive of her, when she hears the truth, so she leaves him after the wedding. She started a business in decorating homes in Paris. She’s successful, happy and independent. She send Rafe divorce papers. He’s not happy. Rafe is cold-hearted. It stems from his cold-hearted father. Rafe doesn’t think he can love anyone, or have a family. Can he change? She agrees to help him until their first anniversary, then he will inherit his portion of his inheritance. Can the two stay civil? Will her crush come back in full force? All she wants is to be loved and have children, something that Rafe will never want. He doesn’t think he’s worthy. I was rooting for these two. A lot of misunderstandings. Two people who deserves everything in life. Worth the read. I received this book for my honest review. I give it voluntarily.
Such an angsty billionaire romance. Greek billionaire Rafe has married Tessa to secure his inheritance. Tessa agrees so she can escape her smothering mother and build her own independent life. Four months later, she's living in Paris, building her business and ready for a divorce. Rafe doesn’t believe he can love her but doesn’t want the divorce.
Yes, it is all a bit of escapism, but it works because Tessa is lovely, she has some ticker and can stand up for herself. Luckily for them both, Rafe works out his feelings, just in time. It's a quick read, secondary characters help keep it moving and give us a frame for the other two books in the series.
This stands out for its disability representation. Tessa has partial paralysis which is thoughtfully depicted. It's not a raging plot device, just part of her backstory, and there's no miracle cure - so well done!
Thank you Emmy Grayson, Harlequin Presents and NetGalley for the ARC. Opinions are my own.
Still the Greek's Wife is a wonderful book involving a Greek cold billionaire and his bride, who he married for inheritance. Tessa and Rafe navigated their new marriage after her abrupt proposal to have him deflower before their one year of marriage was up and they could divorce. None of them expected feelings to resurface... Rafe was a very distant, cold guy, but as we all know, those hide the deepest feelings, and he only needed a nudge to see how much he can miss out if he doesn't start showing them. He was very caring towards Tessa, who has a partial paralysis and has to use crutches or a wheelchair to move around. 4 stars. My first read by this author, and I can't wait to read more.
ARC was provided via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Still the Greek's Wife is part of the multi-author trilogy Brides for Greek Brothers. It can be read as a standalone, though at the beginning I would have liked a bit more of a recap as it felt like I was missing important information. But soon I was caught up in the rather sweet second-chance-at-love romance between Tessa and Rafe. I especially liked the strong-willed woman Tessa has become and the way she is determined to master her future. Good thing that Rafe isn't nearly as cold-hearted as he and everyone else thinks he is. Entertaining, touching and emotional, this book left me with a smile on my face! I received an early copy through Netgalley and am leaving this review voluntarily and honestly.
Our hero is the typical moody, broody billionaire, with feelings that run deeper than he wants to admit. They have a history to build on, plenty of chemistry, and the shift in their dynamic shakes things up. I loved it!
A heroine who is partially paralyzed and a male lead with a heart of ice. Can they make their marriage last while becoming their best selves? Love to see the diversity in abilities represented
I received a copy from Goodreads Giveaways of Still the Greek’s Wife. I enjoyed reading the story of Tessa and Rafael. I will look into reading more books by Emmy Grayson. Definitely would recommend.
Arc Review: Overall Rating: 4 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice Rating: 2 🔥🔥 Tropes: - Second Chance Romance - Marriage of Convenience - Awakened Desire - Greek Billionaire Hero - Paris and Greek Setting - Contemporary Romance
‘Still the Greeks Wife’ is the second book of the ‘Brides for Greek Brothers’ series, and could be described as a sweet second chance at love romance, with a both entertaining and emotional plot. I thought the story was touching, but also had enough humour to make me laugh, and plenty of romance, and by the of the book I had a smile on my face. Tessa and Rafe had their own history, and lots of chemistry - creating two very likeable characters. Rafe was a moody and broody greek billionaire, with feelings and Tessa is a strong, and inspiring character, who decided that just because she’s paralyzed doesn’t mean she can’t still live her life to its fullest. This was a quick, and enjoyable read that I had the pleasure of being an advanced reader too, thank you NetGalley, publishers, and the author for the advanced readers copy of ‘Still the Greeks Wife’.
This is a witty romance featuring Tessa and Rafe, whose arranged marriage forces them to confront past traumas and unexpected feelings. Tessa, a resilient woman who overcame partial paralysis and now designs accessible home solutions, agrees to extend her marriage with Rafe—a billionaire burdened by his abusive dead father’s strange stipulations—when he appears in Paris to convince her. With the condition that he becomes her first lover, Rafe reluctantly calculates the pros and cons before their passionate escape to Greece. As they share tender, awkward, and transformative moments, Rafe is forced to confront his inability to love, while Tessa learns that deep affection can blossom even from a marriage of convenience. The book blends humor, cultural charm, and heartfelt emotion to show that sometimes the most unconventional unions lead to true, lasting happiness.
