Omegas of Oliver Creek #9

Brewing for My Mate

Rate this book
I started the Oliver Creek Brew five years ago before Oliver Creek went from sleepy and dying to a bustling, trendy town. I wait daily for my omega to walk right in and order a coffee. Perhaps I’ve been reading too many romance novels. I long for him, whoever he is.

Everyone loves coffee and pastries, and I even offer a selection of superior loose-leaf teas. I’ve almost given up on meeting my fated when a handyman traveling through town offers to help with my disaster of a plumbing issue. Problem is, he’s a wandering spirit and mine loves to stay right here at home.

Brewing for My Mate is the ninth in the Omegas of Oliver Creek mpreg series by Lorelei M. Hart. It is a super-sweet with knotty heat mm shifter mpreg romance featuring an alpha bear in a stable but lonely existence and an omega bobcat who likes to keep on the move, friends from other stories of the Omegas of Oliver Creek, an adorable baby or two, and a guaranteed happily ever after. If you like your mpreg against all odds, your happily ever afters complete with a bundle of joy, and your mpreg with heart, Brewing for My Mate is the book for you. While each book in the Omegas of Oliver Creek series is set in the same world, they can each be read as standalones.

This was a good story. I like the uniqueness of the omega being such a traveler and not acting like a typical omega. I haven’t read any of the other books in the series and while you don’t need to, I think I would have enjoyed it better if I had since past characters show up, like Aster and Quinn. It did make me want to go back and read their book though. I’m wondering if Bernard plays a big role in the series though, he seems like the type to just show up in everyone’s life, lol.

I didn’t look at the cover too closely when I started reading so I at first thought that they were both bobcats as there is a small typo in the first chapter with Maxwells POV that he says he’s a bobcat instead of a bear. It’s not until Pike’s chapter and he calls Maxwell a bear that I went back and looked at the cover and realized. This doesn’t affect my rating at all, mistakes happen, just thought I’d mention it for anyone who may do the same thing I did.

In the last chapter, before the epilogue, when they have the baby (not giving away the gender) it kept getting referred to that the baby “chose” them as their parents. I felt like it was unnecessary to word it this way, it just feels too much like a belief or religious thing to me and it’s not really something I believe in. I know it’s a fictional story but it’s such a small part of the story, taking up a total of like two sentences, that it just felt like such an unnecessary thing to include at all since that’s not the type of story this is. This is of course just my personal opinion, being a review and all, and it’s an easy enough thing to just glance over or ignore.

The epilogue was funny to me and I just know it has to do with the next book, it does make it fairly obvious. The reason I found it funny was because of Maxwell and Pike’s reactions. You’ll have to read it to get it, lol. I did make me want to read the next book though.

Overall, it’s a great story, I do feel like there was something to it missing. I don’t know what all exactly but Maxwell’s dads were mentioned once but then not again. I do wish that Pike got to meet them and we got to know more about Pike’s parents since he said something about them once but it wasn’t really informational. Like, are they still alive? If so, where are they? What do they think of their son’s traveling lifestyle? We were given enough information about Maxwell’s pops that I really wish we had gotten to meet him. Just curiosity questions that I have and such.

Maxwell, Pike
Lynx alpha, Lynx oméga
Propriétaire du café à Oliver Creek

Glen (employé de Maxwell, barista au café)
M/M Shifter Mpreg Romance
___

Encore.

This is the ninth book of the Omegas of Oliver Creek and each book can be read as a standalone. This book is a quick, no angst read. This is the story of Maxwell and Pike. Maxwell is an alpha bear shifter and owner of the local coffee shop. He decided to stay in Oliver Creek as he sensed that is where his mate would come to him. Every time someone walks through the door he can't help but check to see if it is his mate. The one time he doesn't check, in walks his mate. Pike an an omega bobcat shifter. He lives to travel on the road and never stays in one place too long. Maxwell wants Pike even knowing that he will eventually leave. And Pike doesn't want to hurt Maxwell by entering a relationship knowing that he will leave. This is their story. It is written well and is easy to read. I did have a small problem with how Pike reacted to the finding of his mate. While happy, he acted like it was a big inconvenience. While reading these books. I found that finding your fated mate was a special and joyous occasion. I didn't understand how Pike could contemplate leaving knowing the pain that it would cause each other and basically rejecting the gift he was given. Now I know that it all worked out in the end, but that hit a sour note for me. I still enjoyed their story and look forward to the next one in the series.

His bear recognizes him as his mate. Alpha bear shifter Maxwell owns a coffeehouse in the small town of Oliver Creek, eagerly waiting for his fated mate. His routine life takes an unexpected turn when omega bobcat shifter Pike, a free-spirited handyman, arrives in town. Despite their immediate connection, Pike is torn between his love for travel and his growing feelings for Maxwell. Maxwell and Pike explore their relationship through shared meals, conversations, and a growing attraction. Maxwell is patient and supportive, while Pike struggles with his desire for freedom and his feelings for Maxwell, even as things heat up between the two. Pike realizes that his journey might have been leading him to Maxwell and that his bond with Maxwell might be worth changing his wandering ways. Hot and steamy MM fated mates shifter romance with plenty of love, community, support, and a sweet baby.

Maxwell is an alpha and a bear. He started the Olive Creek Brew five years before hoping it would entice his mate to arrive.
Pike is an omega bobcat who is footloose and fancy free. He travels from one place to another doing odd jobs. He is finishing up one when the lady he was working for told him about Oliver Creek. So he goes there. He enters the coffee shop and scents his mate.
They meet when there is a bit of an mishap in the kitchen. Maxwell invites Pike to stay at his place. Max's barista gets an emergency call from home and has to leave. So Pike takes his place. He is getting comfortable around Max and his house but can he give up his wanderlust ways? And what can Max do if he wants to leave?
A beautiful story in this series.

This is another of the sweet, light-hearted, low angst tales from Lorelei’s vast omegaverse. Maxwell runs the coffee shop in Oliver Creek, sure one day his omega mate will walk into his coffee shop and they will live happily ever after. Well, the first part is true, and his bobcat mate Pike does come into the shop. But Pike is a wanderer, loathe to put down roots and stay in one place. Will Maxwell keep his mate or lose him to wanderlust? Only time and a timely accident or two will tell.

Lovable characters in a picture perfect town with neighbors that care and look out for each other — what could be better? Great series of short, fun, easy to read books for an afternoon pick-me-up.

"More time with him would be a bonus, even if it threatened my will to keep moving along."

This is book number 9 in the Omegas of Oliver Creek series by the writing duo of Lorelei M Hart. This series always leaves me with a smile on my face. Whenever I see one of these books pop up on Booksprout I gobble it up.

This was a fun story that kept me entertained from beginning to end. I want to live in Oliver Creek with all these happy couples.

A wanderer omega determined to see the world and not be held back. A steadfast alpha ready to find his fated mate and settle down. The right person in the right place at the right time meet cute!

I really enjoyed this story about Maxwell a bear shifter who had moved to Oliver Creek to open his coffee shop and was willing to wait for his fated mate. Pike is a bobcat shifter who enjoys moving around the country and has no interest in staying anywhere for too long. Then he wanders into Oliver Creek Brew and smells his mate, then the hose on the dishwasher breaks and he rescues Maxwell from the water spraying everywhere. These two characters recognise each other as their mate, but Pike wants to keep moving, they both agree to stay together until Pike decides that he wants to leave. When Pike becomes pregnant, he feels he has to stay and make his life with Maxwell and they both have their happy ending.

Can a coffee brewing bear convince a bobcat with wanderlust to settle down?

This is a typical Lorelei story. It is sweet and sexy. The attraction between Max and Pike is as intense as it is inevitable. And don't get me started on the coffee! What starts worth a disaster of epic proportions turns into the match of a lifetime. Throw in a pregnancy and you have one amazing story. I fell in love with Max and Pike from the beginning. I am sure you will, too. You have got to get this book!

I loved Brewing for My Mate: M/M Shifter Mpreg Romance Book 9. Pike doesn’t stay in one place for long, he’s a wonderer. Maxwell owns the local coffee shop and he’s been waiting for his omega mate. He’s surprised when Pike saves him from a wayward water line. Maxwell offers Pike a place to stay while he’s in town, hoping his mate will want to stay. Pike doesn’t stay, so why is he thinking of staying with his mate? I loved the storyline and the characters. If his omega leaves, Maxwell will be devastated. I would definitely recommend this book and the series.

I absolutely loved this book! The story of Maxwell and Pike is sweet and wonderful and an absolute must read! Pike plans on just passing through Oliver Creek when he stops into Maxwell’s coffee shop. A little dishwasher mishap will bring the two together for what Max hopes will be forever. But Pike has a wandering soul and doesn’t know if staying is for him. Fate will intervene and make Pike’s decision a little easier and it will bring them both a very wonderful happily ever after!.

Bjo.

I am such a sucker for shifter love stories. I remember when the vast majority were all dark and dramatic, and it's lovely to see that they are becoming more mainstream. I love reading the whole spectrum.

This couple is a super quick, sweetheart of a read. Be warned, it will make you want to bake something and curl up with a cup of coffee. I liked this couple a lot.

Maxwell, an alpha bear shifter, loves living in Oliver Creek. He doesn't plan on moving anywhere else. The one thing missing is his fated mate. Pike, an omega bobcat shifter, doesn't want to settle down. He enjoys moving from one place to another, picking up odd jobs. He ends up in Oliver Creek and realizes he'll have to make a chose of staying or leaving because Maxwell is his fated mate. I enjoy reading the books by this author.

Pike stays on the move and fears if he finds his mate he will not be able to commit to staying still. Maxwell has established a growing coffee and tea shop in Oliver Creek and longs for the day his mate walks through the door. This story keeps you guessing as to whether or not Pike will stick around or if he will continue being a wandering handyman. If his bobcat has any say, the will stay put. Maxwell's bear knows his mate is a possible flight risk but still gives his heart away but holds back on the mating bite. Find out if Pike settles down and maybe welcome a little cub with the sweet, charming and caring bear he knows is his mate.

Max and Pike's story is different from other's in that Max isn't sure his Omega, Pike will stay in town. They can't help the attraction and heat between them, it's fate and putting fated mates together seems inevitable, but time will tell. It's once again an entertaining story in this genre, a n ice quick story, I really enjoyed it! I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Pike & Maxwell

Here we have one person who's been waiting eagerly for their mate and another who has been avoiding their's like the plague. When they do meet, though, their story together was very sweet and entertaining.

Loving everything coming out of Oliver Creek. Each book in series is just sweet and lovely. Book 9 was wonderful read. I thought it was cute but a little bittersweet that Maxwell, alpha bear, kept looking out for his mate everything the bell rings at his coffee shop door. When his mate does come thru the door, the sweet romance begins. A little awkwardness and uncertainty of the future between him and his omega Pike but their journey to HEA was nice. I enjoyed it and I know others will too!.

Coffee. Chocolate. Caramel. Mate. Chocolate smelling alpha. Freshly sawn wood & cut grass. Ursine socks.

At 89 Android Kindle app-pages long, this is a quick read; it's short and sweet. There is virtually no angst and only a few characters are used, maybe 6 - 8. It isn't a deep story; there's just hearts, sunshine, and fluff. There's hardly any crossover from previous books. If you want a two-hour read that's just a diversion, then this book do the trick.

I liked Maxwell. He's planned his future around finding his fated mate. Pike is sure that his path is to keep moving, never settling. Meeting Maxwell doesn't change that assumption, even when his bobcat argues with him constantly. The ending is sweetly satisfying.
