This novel is based on true events that happened in Europe during WWI. Who knew that a Canadian gold miner would play an important part in helping the Bolsheviks and spying for the Allies during WWI, while becoming involved with and helping Queen Marie of Romania? Thanks to the research of the author, I would like to discover more about the fascinating lives of these two individuals. I was already intrigued by the life of Queen Marie. Now to learn more about Canadian entrepreneur Joseph Boyle, who helped her and her country through desperate times and won her love.
