We’ve assembled the other swords. Are you with us?
That message changed everything. Reminding me of an oath I made years prior. An oath I am honor-bound to fulfill.
Many years before, my team and I were pinned down by the enemy, hunkered down in a cave trying to make it through the night. An apparition appeared with an unbelievable prophecy about four swords.
"It must not fall into the wrong hands. Those who would turn it to evil would have little trouble defeating the weapons of your world. You are Warriors of the Light. The other three swords, Caliburn, Clarent, and Arondight, will find you. The swords are charged with the powers of light and darkness. Take care that they do not fall into the hands of the Lady of the Lake.”
He gave me one of four remaining swords from the Knights of the Round table, Courechouse. It has hung dormant on the wall over the fireplace in my Soho loft until recently.
We made an oath to honor the prophecy when and if it came true. The unbelievable has happened and it is time for us to take up our swords and meet our destiny.

Masters of Valor is a spin-off series from the Masters of the Savoy series where present—history—and paranormal collide. In that series, Gabriel ‘Gabe’ Watson, head of security at the Savoy, will meet Anne Boelyn, who has escaped the veil and her prison between light and dark at the Tower of London.
Now, Anne and Gabe are married, and they will leave London, England, and travel by luxury cruise liner to America, where they will settle in Sage Matthew’s old home in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Their plans include Gabe’s three close military friends to start Steel Knights Investigations and a private BDSM club called Refuge.
During a secret deployment, the four men fell under enemy fire. They took refuge in a cavern where the following morning they encountered a specter, ‘Sir Percival of His Majesty’s Knights of the Round Table.’ He will address mainly Gabriel and toss him a sword, Courechouse. But he leaves them with warnings.
“It must not fall into the wrong hands. Those who would turn it to evil would have little trouble defeating the weapons of your world. You are Warriors of Light. The other three swords, Caliburn, Clarent, and Arondight, will find you. The swords are charged with the powers of light and darkness. Take care that they do not fall into the hands of the Lady of the Lake.”
Bennett: What did he mean about three more swords? Gabe: I don’t think that it’s coincidental that he said three other swords and there are three of you. Tristan: Charged with the powers of light and darkness? What does that mean? Ford: I’m beginning to wonder if we weren’t saved for a reason. We shouldn’t be sitting here now. We should be dead—yet here we are. Maybe we’re here to serve a greater purpose. Ben: I don’t know. How do you explain that we all saw and heard the same thing? That only Gabe could pull the sword free? That he took out that sniper long distance with the sword? I think Ford may be right. I think maybe whatever greater power you believe in may have a bigger purpose for all of us.
“I pledge my life and my fortune to those of you standing here with me. I give you my honor and loyalty and swear that when all four swords have found their masters that we will join together to fight for what is right and just and will use our strength in service to others.”
Gabe tells Anne the story of what they witnessed, and now, all four swords have found their masters—it is time to respond and move to America. Anne feels the three friends must also know about her—they must be able to trust each other no matter what.
“My love and trust in you are absolute Gabe. There are no restrictions or constraints. It does make sense that there is some greater design in all of this.”
“Wasn’t it William Shakespeare who’d written that ‘Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them?’”
The story will have Anne meeting Tristan Crawford, Bennett Greyson, and Ford Montgomery for dinner and to share some truths, even if they seem unreal. But these men have experienced supernatural themselves too. So it is only fair they know about her since she knows what happened to them in the desert.
I look forward to the following three books in this series.
This is a great prequel to a new spin off series, the first series was Masters of Savoy and I think that was fabulous. Anyway this starts off the Masters of Valor and it includes two main characters that are from Masters of Savoy and introduces the 3 new male characters of the new series.
This is a great bridging story between the Masters of the Savoy and the masters of valor! It really sets the scene for the new series as well you get more of Gabe and Anne - never a bad thing as they are not as he'll together!
Loved the Masters of the Savoy series and this one is going to be just as Great! She has a fantastical imagination with the plots and characters so well developed, and I’ve already pre-ordered the entire series. Can’t wait!
So excited about this off shoot of the Masters of the Savoy series. A short intriguing prequel, that provides a good deal of information. It can easily be read in one sitting.
I don't think you would have to read Masters of the Savoy series to enjoy this one. But, I do think if you pass on it, you will be missing out on some pretty entertaining reading.
I enjoyed getting to revisit Gabe and Anne, while being introduced to a group on new characters in the US. 4.5 stars for this one.
I enjoyed reading this short introduction to this new series. I liked Ann and Gabe. They are hot and fun. I am in awe of this amazing author's research. She rocks. I am looking forward to reading about the other swords and the vets who wield them. I highly recommend this quick read.
A fascinating start to a new series. I loved Anne and Gabe in the Masters of the Savoy series and was glad to get more on their series. This new series looks like it will be interesting and unique. Looking forward to the next book.
Loved this little teaser that connects the Masters of Savoy series to the Master of Valor and defiantly can’t wait to read the first book in this new series…
In this prequel, Gabriel Watson and his wife Anne leave London and the Savoy to go to America, having purchased Sage Matthews house in the Outer Banks. He had been in contact with the former members of his regiment who have found their swords formerly owned by knights of the round table...so the reader gets a peek into the men and what they may be up against...
Here we learn how Gabe and his friends learn about the swords as Sir Percival gives him his!! We follow Ann and Gabe to South Carolina's outer banks to Sages old home and the beginnings of Steel Knights Security!! It is fast paced and I can't wait for the next book y'all!! You need to read this it's that GOOD !!!!!!
Prophecy: A Supernatural Romance (Masters of Valor) ⚔️
I enjoy Delta James as a writer that takes transports you away to different worlds. Except this novel; forgive me. As a mainly 5 star rating, it didn’t hold my attention.
The story itself is an introduction to Warriors of Light/ Masters of the Savoy. I finished the book. Still can’t think what the plot was. It gives references to the other book series. One comes to understand how the other series starts; as it is explained by warrior Gabriel 'Gabe' Watson, to his Anne Boleyn (second wife of King Henry VIII who was beheaded). Apparently, she escaped her prison in the Tower of London (she must have been a ghost 👻). There isn’t an explanation for most part. At times, I would pull the kindle out and go back a few pages wondering if I focused more on what I was doing than the story. Nope. It just skips. Confusing. One moment they’re visiting one place, the next they’re on a honeymoon aboard a luxury cruise liner 🛳 heading to settle in the USA. How did they handle the ghosts? -Simply done; no clue as to what happened. Now that’s supernatural! 💁🏻♀️
The story is mainly about Gabe and Anne’s honeymoon aboard the cruise ship. It felt as if this was second part of another book. There was no beginning of their relationship. Instead, we are brought into the middle of their story; both planning on opening a BDSM and call it Refuge ((Gabe and friends had taken refuge in a cavern where they encountered a specter. “Sir Percival of His Majesty's Knights of the Round Table” speaks to Gabe, and gives them warnings for the future)). I think I may have enjoyed it if it started when they first met; not all he told his wife.
To understand this novel, one must read the other series first. Otherwise, it is impossible to understand the references made. It was mainly confusing when Gabe explained Anne how he came about his sword. 🗡
Overall : 3 ☆ Performance by J. T. Farrell: 5 ☆+ (Call me biased. 🤷🏻♀️ Got him on my iPhone notes of favorite narrators) Story: 2 ☆
Of course, I’d be willing to check out the audibles for the next books. Simply for the narrator. Although, hopefully what comes next isn’t as disappointing for me, as this one was.

Wonderful peek into a potentially superb new series
Delta James has created another beautifully kick-butt estrogen fueled role model for burgeoning alpha submissives. Anne demolished my heart in her first fifteen pages. As BFFs we might well demolish the town in one night. It's possible that her hubby might allow her a girl's night out once in a while.
Best female lead ever with the most interesting mellow alpha Dom male blended with plenty of fire and beautiful humor just makes me melt. I didn't expect this short read to introduce my new book boyfriend AND my bestest book girlfriend while making me so envious of their pet unicorn (who must appear in a follow-up story.
Although it says that it’s 0.5 in a series, it’s obvious that this isn’t the start of a series with characters in. It’s very obvious that there have been other books with the characters in, as it refers back quite a few times to things that have happened and seem quite important to know about but with no actual explanation. I found it a little confusing but would have liked to have known more about Anne’s backstory and all of the other characters from history or fiction. I feel like the author just expected the reader to have already read the other books and didn’t want to explain anything else. Overall, although the idea is interesting, I just don’t think this series is for me.
Coming straight off the heels of "Masters of the Savoy", Delta James has continued the magic with her first book, 'Prophecy', in a brand new series called "Masters of Valor". We follow Gabe and Anne as they leave England and immigrate to the Eastern shore of the United States where they and three of Gabe's military buddies intend to fulfill a solemn oath they'd taken when on a mission in the Middle East. The groundwork has been laid, the property bought, and secrets have been shared. What Fate and Ms. James have in store for these four men has me giddy with anticipation. I can't wait.
This novella serves as a transition between the Masters of the Savoy and the new spin-off series, Masters if Valor. Gabe and Anne’s relocation to North Carolina so he can partner with three brothers-in-arms from his Marine unit to open a security and investigations firm, a BDSM lifestyle club and more.
This novella focus on Gabe and Anne and their mixed feelings about moving to the US, several sizzling sex scenes and Anne being a brat at times.
Enjoyable and entertaining read to get you excited for the first book in the new, spin-off series.
WOW! This is definitely a short but exciting and passionate story! It's a enjoyable and fantastic story that has awesome characters, with great chemistry. Their romance is really hot and sizzling! There is parts that will bring a smile to your eyes along with a suspenseful element, but the one thing I can hardly wait until I read these two stories because I know there is more to their story. But the time spent on this one have been incredible to read even the secondary characters are great. Overall this is a great short romance which l greatly enjoyed
This short book is an amazing bridge from The Masters of the Savoy series to The Masters of Valor. It's a brilliant and satisfying segue for Anne and Gabe and three of his marine buddies into a whole new paranormal adventure with the usual suspects (good vs evil) and some rather unusual suspects. As always with Delta James, our men are hunky Doms will a penchant for "the lifestyle" and the ladies are strong, smart and feisty as ever. This quick read is a delight for those who enjoyed The Savoy.
A quick introductory novella for the Masters of Valor series, which is a spin-off from the Masters of the Savoy series. This book occurs shortly after book four of that series (Felix Spencer and Saoirse Madigan’s story) and branches off into this new series set in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. It features Anne and Gabe, with Anne doing her queenly thing, and introduces the heroes for this series. A fun introduction for what looks to be an intriguing series.
Gabriel Watson, head of security at the Savoy, was earlier part of a Marine Raider unit caught under difficult circumstances with 3 other men. As a result, they all escaped but were warned they were each responsible for a "sword" from the Round Table. Gabriel currently has Courechoise, and is on his way to America, with Anne Hastings, to meet up with his 3 colleagues - on a quest. Good introduction to a new series.
This is the last of a series, and while that makes me sad, I'm so very glad a new series is beginning! Ms. James is such a great storyteller, and her books are a joy to read and own!
Beautiful exciting adventure of the past, present, and a new beginning for four friends given magical swords to fight forces mankind is not ready for.Awesome tease that I can’t wait to read ♥️
Great start to another series. I don't know how Ms. James does it but she makes me love each book that she releases. This was a nice set up for the rest of the books in this series and it's Gabe and Anne's story. Can't wait for the next books to see how things will go!
But plenty of reasons to lose your heart. Very excited for this series as a spin off from the Masters of the Savoy. All of the characters are well developed and the dynamics between Gabe and Anne are a lot of fun.
This book caught my interest right from the start. The story of Anne and Gabe is beautiful and intriguing. The swords part is just icing on the cake. I recommend this book and can't wait for the next one.
A transitional book between Master's of the Savoy and this new series of Master's of Valor. Four modern men with four ancient swords. They are gathering in North Carolina to start new lives and projects.
