Zanae

Elijah
He had lost the ability to feel years ago, but crossing paths with the woman he once hated made his heart ache and scream with sensations long buried under traumas and pains.
In a world where death, luxury, and secrets fill the air, and where love and hate are two sides of the same coin, two broken souls find the missing pieces of their being in each other. But as they navigate the dangerous path of revenge, can they truly save one another, or will their bond become the catalyst for their destruction?
Reunited by destiny and haunted by the past, their only survival way is to confront their deepest fears and darkest desires.
attempting to read this book has been difficult not because of the content but because it seems like it was written by ai. by chapter 4 i had to consult with the internet for guidance. below is the passage i posted online that many authors have confirmed seems like ai. and this isn’t even the worst example i could come up with. it’s just the most mind boggling one because of the use of the word “corns”
“His car glided rapidly through the city as he stole curious glances at me. I couldn’t figure out why he was eyeing me like this. “Why are you staring?” I finally asked, breaking the silence. “I stare if I want to. And, I was just thinking,” he replied casually. “About what?” “Keep asking me questions and I’ll drop you off in the middle of nowhere. To be honest you could feel the thrill of the chase... You might even enjoy it before I catch you,” he said with a strange nonchalance. I managed a weak chuckle, the headache still clinging to me like a hammer. “Interesting. But I’d prefer a more predictable destination, like the cafeteria, maybe? Let’s keep that idea in mind. When you catch me, I’ll open your chest and see for myself if your heart has a picture of me in red and with corns.”
read this book at your own risk but i’m not entirely sure the positive reviews are legitimate
**UPDATE: within 24 hours of this review i’ve had the author dm me(i haven’t read it. i don’t owe anyone a conversation over a book i spent money on), have comments on this review (see below), am getting threatening tweets directed at me and i quote from @_qgtm “@fangsbangs look at your insta dms and count your fucking days. i'm dragging your ass through the book community and putting this on blast because this is NOT okay.” and the author is thanking those going after this review on an instagram post where i am referred to as a keyboard warrior cancer of the world. so i will not be deleting this review since every potential reader should know this is the community they’re walking into if they read this book and do not enjoy it. a book that has nothing but shining reviews and ONLY ONE bad review (mine).
and no despite what ppl are saying on threads i am NOT an author. nor do i aspire to be an author. i also do not have any author accounts anywhere
OK, here's the tea. This book is a mafia on crack, with a romance that defies love itself. Ame has done an incredible job writing a truly transcending story, weaving together complex mafia lore (ft. the Lebanese mafia as well as multiple other cultures), and crafting the most delicious found family. And lets not forget the soul fusing romance between Zanae and Elijah.
This is a long boy but it's 100% worth it. Ame's prose is so delectable, the way she ties in feminism and overarching themes truly astounds me.
This story is dark so definitely check trigger warnings, but this is such a moving story and I could relate so much to Zanae especially. She is an incredible woman, and Elijah is one lucky ass man. Niko has my heart and soul too, he's just hilarious and great company.
The plot twists will have you questioning everything. I was in tears.
Thank you so much amethyst for giving me the opportunity to arc read your debut 💜 I honestly can't believe that this is your first book because WHAT I?! I absolutely love this story and everything about it! This was so well written and just absolute perfection. I literally just didn't want the book to end 😭
If you’re a fan of rival families, forbidden, enemies to lovers, stalker, found family, he falls first, morally gray mmc, strong fmc, touch him/her and die, smut, and dark themes … this is the perfect book for you. Please check your trigger warnings before reading!!
This is a story about loss, grief, vengeance, and healing. it will forever have such a special place in my heart 🖤 the way just highlighted literally everything just shows how invested I was while reading. I love the characters in this story so much!
Mother zanae Delle is THAT BITCH !!! She is such a strong and amazing woman that I don't even know if I want to be her or with her 😭 the things she went through... I just want to hold her.i absolutely love seeing how her character grew. She is for sure the most feared soldier and this stabby woman could cut you with just a look.
Elijah mfing Volkov 🧎🏻♀️ the man he is. Who doesn't love a big bad Russian pakhan obsessed and possessive of his woman!? From wanting to hate her to knowing he was in love the second he laid eyes on her all those years ago...this man is chef's kiss 💋
Not only did i love the main characters but Niko and Ben... OMG!!! I would pay top dollar for books on them 💥💳
I love this book with my entire soul, still staring at the wall because of it😭 I literally sobbed, giggled and kicked my feet through the whole thing, I want to cry thinking about them. They are EVERYTHING, the writing style, the characters, every single thing about it has me in a CHOKEHOLD and I will scream about this book till the end of time😭 One of my favourites quotes: "I'll teach you to live again." "Why would you do that?" "Because you're making my heart warm again." Excuse me while I cry😭
ALL THE STARS 🌟 This is by far one of the best debut novels I have read. The way Amethyst covered so many topics in this book is mind-blowing.
This book is packed with so much, Mafia & Bratva, trauma, grief, pain and heartache, enemies to lovers, revenge, secrets, love, self-worth, found family, and so much more.
Zanae is the future heir the Lebanese Mafia. She has faced a lot of trauma and pain in her life, feeling unloued, unwanted, and unworthy. She struggles to look at herself, to love herself. The inner demons she fights every day is something I relate to deeply, which made me love this book all the more.
Elijah, our Russian Pakhan, and one half of The Venom Reapers. He's your ultimate mafia king. Dominating, possessive, and unhinged, with a view of the world in Red. That is until he stops resisting the Amber eyes that changes his view of the colours in the world. But even he has his own demons. Neither believe they are worthy of love but the way they come together will have your heart captivated.
I can't not mention Nikolai, the other half of The Venom Reapers. I absolutely loved him. His loyalty and banter really delivered some much needed humour throughout this story. We all should have a friend like Niko! It was an absolute privilege to ARC read this book, pieces of me have been stitched back together through Amethyst's realistic depiction of how difficult existing in this world can be when you have faced so much pain in your life. The way she expressed Parental Trauma is phenomenal and relatable.
Please familiarise yourself with the content warnings before you start, this book REALLY covers alot of hard topics surrounding mental health struggles but it's executed beautifully ⁃ Amethyst, you deserve to feel incredibly proud of this book!

I’M NEVER EVER SHUTTING UP ABT THIS BOOK NOW !!🤭❤️
I don’t even know where to start with this review, it was just so many things! Beautiful, intense, heart wrenching, emotional, intoxicating, and so so exquisitely written. It’s such a work of art, I loved every single page, even the hard to read ones. The characters were so well written, I felt like I knew them, the relationships that developed were amazing. The back and forth, the banter, the bonds that bound them. I loved not only Elijah & Zanae, who were just a fire couple, but Nikolai too. The friendships that developed between the 3 of them, was everything.
I was very quickly obsessed with Elijah, that man and his mouth, he was everything. Hotheaded, possessive, OTT unhinged, touch her & die vibes…. But his characters progression was amazing to read, alongside Zanae.
“And don’t forget, I tasted it, so it’s fucking mine now.”
Zanae had such a rough start, constantly battling with herself, her inner demons giving her nothing but self doubt. But slowly, Elijah helped her silence those demons.
It was truly such a beautiful read, and a story that will stick with me. Did it make me ugly cry? Yes, a few times, but did she put me back together again? Yes, yes she did. I feel like she grabbed me with her own hands and dropped me right into this beautiful chaotic whirlwind of a book.
“Storms don’t last forever.”
A infinite star read, 5 stars is simply not even close to enough. ♾️
As always, please check TW. This book is dark, and handles sensitive subjects.
"This is the story of two dead souls, finding heaven in each other's hell."
Omfg, Elijah is so freaking hot 🤭!!! And I love love love Zanae 💜😭!! And the way they were flirting. Not exactly flirting, but the whole exchange was so freaking hot🤌😩. I was giggling and kicking my feet after each adorable interaction between them. 😩💜
Elijah is a broody, charming, sexy, morally gray stalker with a dark aura who'll keep you on your toes. One interaction with him and you'll be begging for more. He hates Zanae because he wants her so badly. She's like a drug to him. An obsession he doesn't want to get rid of. But he hates himself more for giving her so much control over him.💜
Zanae might be small, but she controls the beast in him. "The huntress" they call her. The whole underworld is afraid of her. She is so goddamn perfect. She's strong, smart, determined and quick-witted. Her darkness calls for him. I love her so much. The way she never backed down from any challenge Elijah threw at her face. She stood her ground. 💜
Zanae & Elijah. They both calm each other's demons. Their journey together was filled with past struggles and personal growth, all to be the best version of themselves for each other. It was breathtaking to see their love story unfold. 💜
Niko was so amazing and wholesome. I fell for him too. Witnessing his protective nature towards Zanae and Elijah was like a sweet treat to my heart. The way he never left any chance to tease them about their relationship was so adorable. 🫶🏻
I loved this book alotttttttt. The amount of tears I've shed because of this book is too much to even count.😭😭
𝑨𝑹𝑪 𝑹𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒆𝒘 This book I tell you! Had me by my heart from the beginning to the divine end!! An absolute beautiful piece from debut Author Amethyst, and only the beginning of The Soulfound series 🖤 I need to point out Amethyst’s writing, as it is truly noteworthy. She has a way to blend poetry into urban day situations and circumstances that delve deeper into mental health. Nemesync has the perfect plot for RIVALS TO LOVERS. There was so much back and forth taunting, longing and walking on a paper thin line, that I was just screaming for them to so “fk it”! OH AND THE NICKNAMES! 😮💨👌🏽 This novel was a lengthy baby and filled with so much drama, strong mental health struggles and rage from all characters. I adored it so much.
Thank you Amethyst 🖤 I cannot wait to see your upcoming WIP and what becomes of D'YAVOL and our LITTLE NIGHTMARE 😮💨❤️🔥
TROPES; 🖤 - RIVAL FAMILIES - ITS ALWAYS BEEN YOU - FOUND FAMILY - AGE GAP (8 YEARS) - ENEMIES TO ALLIES TO LOVERS - FORCED PROXIMITY - OBSESSION - DARK PAST - FORBIDDEN - HE FALLS FIRST AND HARDER - MORALLY GREY CHARACTERS - TOUCH HIM AND DIE - TOUCH HER AND DIE - DARK MENTOR
Zanae, my love 😭 Everything she felt was like a shiny dagger to the chest reflecting everything I have felt my entire life. The description of her utter emptiness buried itself so deeply into my psyche, because I understand the feeling immensely. Reading her story was so close to reading the thoughts within my own mind.
This book was like having my old wounds torn open and delicately stitched back together again. Like staring into a mirror and being confronted with ghosts. This book is for the survivors. I found myself healing slowly from the words written in this work of art.
The love story between Zanae and Elijah was one born by fate, carved in the depths of hell itself. These two lost souls that found each other will forever be etched into my heart. I hope one day to find myself someone who loves my darkness as much as Elijah loves Zanae’s. The found family within this book was so heartwarming. After everything she went through, Zanae deserves the love this family brings her more than anything else.
I don’t think I will ever be able to properly explain how deeply this book touched me, and how much I loved it.
It was such a beautiful, dark read that made me giggle, cry, SOB all throughout. Amethyst’s writing style is poetic - beautiful and I felt SO much during my reading.
As someone who struggles a lot with depression, this book hit me hard but I loved every second of it.
This was my first dark mafia romance I’ve ever read. I thought I wouldn’t like this type of genre, but Amethyst proved me wrong time and time again. The passion between the characters was palpable and it takes true talent to be able to craft characters such as how Amethyst did.
I hope you give this book a chance, with or without liking dark and or mafia romance… it’s worth your time!
I’m so so excited for book two and will be reading all of this authors work
Nemesync is a mafia dark romance, beginning with two people from rival families circling each other to two people healing each other, when their history and environment are both hell bent on making them nemesis.
Mental health is one of the numerous components of this book that screams at us intimately. The vulnerability bleeding through the pages is delicate and loud. It’s beautiful, full of life and hope, yet death and its idealization play an important part in Nemesync, deeply rooted in the characters’s trauma. On that front, the grieving one, I felt immensely seen and heard, having lost important people in my life too, one of them being my best friend of 18 years. Just as Zanae, even if the circumstances surrounding their deaths aren’t the same. I cried my eyes out. Ugly, cathartic tears. The last book that wrecked me this much was Collateral Damage by Shassii.
Elijah Volkov might be fearsome in his world, but boy is he a big teddy bear for Zanae, showering her with endless compliments and devotion. Wanting to infuse her with life, as she does with his deep rooted darkness. Nemesync is just truly beautiful. The writing style, how the characters are portrayed, the story in general even if it can be heavy at times, it’s just utterly… beautiful. It’s not your usual mafia dark romance, the romance is more profound and devoted. Intent on healing.
And Zanae, gone through so much. Her light dimming as time goes by, her indisputable strength wavering under the endless waves of grief, culpability, depression. Always at war with her mind, even if the loving, loyal family she found when her blood relations proved to be utterly lacking keeps on encouraging her every day.
Despite the heaviness, the banter was amusing. In reality, there’s still hope and love and memorable moments in life that makes it all worth living. While, naturally, orchestrating that the bane of existence organization that the characters have to deal with implodes from the inside out… I guess we’ll see more in the second book when it’ll be the time.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 /5 🌶️🌶️🌶️/5
•Found family •Rival families •Mafia dark romance •Heavy mental states •Amusing banter •Badass characters •Slow to medium paced •He will shower her in endless compliment so she can believe them and if she doesn’t, he’ll write them on her skin with his lips until she does type of mmc
Oh my goodness, where do I even start with this book?! I am absolutely head over heels in love with this book! From the moment I started reading, I was completely hooked and couldn’t put it down.
The world-building is so intricate and immersive, and the characters… oh, the characters! I am totally obsessed with all of them, but especially Elijah. He is my new book boyfriend, and I can’t get enough of him! 😍 His charm, strength, and depth just made my heart flutter every time he appeared on the page.
Amethyst has done an incredible job blending action, suspense, and romance. The plot twists kept me on the edge of my seat, and the romance was just perfect. The chemistry between the characters is off the charts, and their development throughout the story is so well done. I felt every emotion right along with them.
This book features so many of my favorite tropes, including enemies-to-lovers, found family, and the reluctant hero. Each trope is executed flawlessly, adding layers of depth and excitement to the story.
The pacing of the story is spot on, with never a dull moment. The themes of love, sacrifice, and resilience are beautifully explored, leaving me thinking about them long after I finished the book. The writing style is exquisite, with vivid descriptions that made me feel like I was right there in the world of Nemesync.
A huge thank you to my lovely friend Amethyst for sending me an ARC of this amazing book.
“Broken souls connect in ways others can’t grasp. It’s messy, angry, and selfless. But it’s also magical, raw, yet strangely beautiful. Our fractured pieces mirror light onto one another, like broken minds, interacting harmoniously without causing pain, embracing each other gently when they touch, without cutting through.”
About: The broken souls of Zanae, the Lebanese Mafia’s future heir, and Elijah, the Russian Pakhan, collide amidst the backdrop of organized crime, luxury, blood and death. Both bathed in darkness, they seek to survive and exact revenge on those that have caused their pain and hurt those they love. Filled with hatred that begins to blur the lines between love, can their forbidden passion overcome the past and turn into love or will they be destroyed by it, and the vengeance they seek.
This book is more than a story, it’s a piece of art made from the pieces of a grief-stricken soul bleeding out on the page. The rawness of Zanae’s pain and despair is depicted so adeptly, there is no doubt that it was born from lived experience. As the story unfolds, Zanae and Elijah’s characters are written and developed with such detail and care that their experiences continually invoke visceral responses in the reader. This book was an emotional roller coaster taking me from the descent into the depths of despair to the heights of soul-mated, life affirming love. I needed some processing time after reading it.
With a dark and gothic feel to it, the plot takes second place to the trauma and emotion of the characters while keeping your interest and providing action-filled twists and turns. The supporting characters are key, and the author gives you a complete picture of their personalities. I especially like the brotherly qualities of Nikolai, the other half of The Venom Reapers, and the supportive strength of Brian, a talented hacker and friend to Zanae. This book is hauntingly beautiful, and I am amazed that this is a debut novel.
Be sure to read and take seriously the CW because this book goes deeply into topics around mental health issues - this author see us. Thank you for gifting me a copy (although I have now bought my own paperback copy). These are my own thoughts and honest review.
Note: I would enjoy having this book get another proofreading in the future to remove spelling and punctuation errors.
The words I can actually conjure up for this review will never be enough to describe the emotionally soul crushing but pure beauty and power that is their story.
The soul ties between these two is otherworldly and truly remarkable. They are at a constant push and pull between enemies and lovers, hate to like and then all that pent up chemistry and angst festers into a ball of pure lust, trust and understanding.
This isn't insta lust, pure smut or something you'll read ever again. It's a one of a kind story that slowly builds over every page and leaves you craving every word like an addict. The utter power behind these words and raw devotion to this story is stunning. Literally stunning. It's intricate, they're complicated and believe their broken, helpless and at fault, but the truth is they are two dead souls finding heaven in each others hell.
Zanae has a past, she's riddled with trauma but it really grew when her best friend died.. there's a lot of unpack there which I won't spoil for you, but she is just a shell of guilt and blame for the loss of her best friend, sister.
Elijah is tricky, he's pure man, Pakhan and oozes authority and is actually the definition of touch her and d!e. But underneath it all, he's also a stalker 😅 hell bent on watching his little nightmare and waiting for the right moment to strike, but no in all seriousness he too, has his own trauma but the devotion he has for Zanae is why we read romance. His love for her gives you the high and emotion you are craving when wanting to experience love. Elijah is perfectly imperfect. Beautiful.
The found family aspect in this is slow building, banter filled and full of fierce love and bold affection. Niko is the type of character you instantly love and the bond between him and Elijah is precious as can be.
This is a Mafia romance- enemies to lovers, + all the great tropes that will catch your eye but read it for them. Read it for the emotion, the poetry and the fact that you will finish this story and never forget it.
FIRST OF ALL TYSM Amethyst for giving me the opportunity to read this masterpiece of a book early, I was beta reader of nemesync too till chapter 30 and that time I found it quite good but holy shit this better and full version? fucking art of piece of a book. Everything about it is perfect (I don't sugarcoat but this is the best book among the arcs I've read till now)
First of all let's talk about characters starting with my man Elijah mf Volkov. I mean what does he not have? He is Pakhan, biker, stalker, obsessed man, cold hearted, would kill for her and possessive. I can write all day about him and the way he loved and supported zanae? PERFECTION OF A MAN (petition to amethyst for the 244213th time to gimme this man)
Secondly our fmc,Zanae Dellé is a WOMAN. I mean a all girls are not woman but zanae is mother. She is so strong. Like the things she went through I wanted to hug her in her povs (I wanna be with her too ehm) . I love love LOVER her character and her confidence, wishing to be her and get a man like her*sobbing on my knees*
Now the side characters I love, first of all Nikolai, all Nikolais are so wholesome character. He is the don but yet such a charming person with her close circle, his friendship with Elijah, siblings worthy love for zanae melted my heart. I love Zane's late best friend Lyla so much too, I wish she was there alive. Miranda was a sweet character too.
Lastly I enjoyed this book so much, I took one whole week and slowly devoured it. This not so small book is worth every page reading. I would highly recommend you, please please please read the book for me once, it's coming out next week agghhhh Love Elijah, love Zanae, love nemesync and last but not the least love Amethyst
Nemesync is a dark mafia romance with all the angst, intensity, and tension you’d expect from the genre. The enemies-to-lovers dynamic between Zanae and Elijah is electrifying, filled with moments that made me cry, laugh, and kick my feet in the air, swooning.
Zanae loses her best and only friend to tragedy and later gets introduced to Elijah, Nikolai, and Benny who slowly but surely become the family she always needed but never had. As the daughter and heir to the Lebanese mafia, there is a lot of dark conflict that the group has to overcome — along with each character’s own personal issues and flaws that are thoroughly explored!
Zanae and Elijah's journey from enemies/rivals to unrequited lovers feels raw and real, as both characters struggle with their inner demons and past traumas. Their relationship isn’t just passionate; it’s possessive and emotional, as they heal each other in ways neither thought possible. Amethyst has a way with words and drawing you into the story to make you feel each emotion these characters were going through and I very thoroughly appreciated that aspect!
The only reason I’m not rating 5 stars is because some chapters felt overly long, dragging the pacing down and the filler content, though helpful for understanding the characters better, at times stretched certain scenes. These sections didn’t detract from the overall enjoyment, but they did make the story feel slower than it needed to be.
Overall, this dark, touch him/her and get unalived, romance shines with its intense love story, dark and damaging conflicts, and the deep emotional connection I felt for both Zanae and Elijah!
First of be aware this book is really dark and read the TW carefully.
Where do I even start? This book got me in a chokehold from the dedication. Amethyst’s writing style is so poetic and charming, and you can tell from the start how talented she is.
Now let's talk about this beautiful book: First of all: Elijah 🫠 what not to love about this man he has everything one can dream about in a book boyfriend, he's hot, huge, cold, obsessed, possessive, and unhinged…. Etc. And most importantly crazy about his woman Zanae. Zanae: has my heart I can't blame Elijah on how crazy he is about her because so am I, she's what I like to read when I'm promised to read about a strong woman. And I will not forget about my love Niko because he is 🧎🏻♀️➡️🧎🏻♀️➡️🧎🏻♀️➡️ About the story, it's how enemies to lovers should be with all the emotions, pain and struggle also the banter. And once you start reading you are sucked into its world like you can feel and live every detail I cried for Zanae and how much she endured, also the description of both the SA scene, the self-harm attempt to unalive herself broke my heart. But that what made the book beautiful imo, now I can't wait for the second book because I need to know what that ending was about.
Loved it and I think this book will be the hit this year.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I'm a bit uncomfortable now. I read this book a bit ago because a mutual was sharing this author's stuff and I'm on a huge mafia kick right now. I DNFed halfway through because I truly could not read some of the writing. IN MY OPINION, It was terribly written. The typos made it hard to figure out what the words actually were. The dialogue was clunky and unoriginal. It was as if you smashed a bunch of book thirst trap quotes into single scenes. But I know this is an Indie, so I didn't leave a review at first.
Only to find that I was harassed by the author's mutual, Destiny Lam ( https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/1... ) for my no-review star rating. For this reason, I felt moved to post my thoughts.
I think this is an important point to mention if you are going to support an author; you definitely don't want to support one who harasses reviewers on and off Goodreads, sends their group chat after them, and encourages people across platforms to harass people. They are literally sending death threats. You can conveniently see those comments on some of the other reviews.
You people really do make being part of this community miserable. Grow up. I hope this author comes to their senses and sees how utterly unprofessional this is instead of encouraging hate.
I have so much love for this story! This book comes from a place love and loss. It’s dark, emotional and wonderful!
790 pages of: Mafia/Bratva underworld, duel POV, grief, love, past trauma, reading people, alliances, enemies to lovers, a bad & broody MMC, an FMC learning to heal, revenge, touch her & d!e (slowly & very painfully), unveiling secrets, found family, tattoos and seriously intense passion!!
Zanae Dellè, heiress to the Lebanese Mafia with a special talent for reading faces is her father’s secret weapon for discovering liars. But with a painful past and a thirst for revenge, an unlikely alliance brings her face to face with the D’yavol himself! So ensues a story of love, hate, desire and overcoming demons.
This is a spectacular debut from Amethyst and I wholeheartedly recommend you read it. Yes, it’s a big book but packed full of detail. Throughout, Amethyst covers some heart-wrenching issues but she does so in a sensitive manner. Her world building and background story hooks you into Zanae and Elijah’s lives so much that I experienced a whole rollercoaster of emotions. And the side characters are equally endearing including a cheeky Mafia Don and a Consigliere with a penchant for Gilmore Girls reruns!
Nemesync is a MUST READ! This is one of those 5⭐️ reads that had me highlighting the book from the dedication to the prologue. Seriously, I want that dedication framed and placed in my home library.
This was such a beautiful story! I’m so surprised that this is the author’s debut. It was so well written, and all the characters were so lovable. Both MCs have such heartbreaking backstories, you can’t help but root for their happiness especially when it’s a forbidden romance. And Elijah will definitely become your next book boyfriend 🫠
Even though this book is over 700 pages, not once did it ever feel long or dragged out. It had the perfect balance of plot-to-spice (3.5 🌶️). I’m so excited to read the next book!
I highly recommend this book especially if you enjoy these tropes: 💜 Rival families 💜 Enemies to allies to lovers 💜 Forced proximity 💜 It’s always been you 💜 Obsession 💜 Forbidden romance 💜 He falls first and harder 💜 Found family 💜 Age gap 💜 Morally grey 💜 Touch him/her and die 💜 Dark past 💜 Dark mentor
This is a tale of revenge, desire, family ties, and the perilous world of organized crime, where nothing is as it appears. Boundaries are shattered, hearts break, vengeance is sworn, and chaos reigns.
This debut novel is one of the best I’ve ever read. Amethyst's writing pulls you in effortlessly, her storytelling gripping you from start to finish. The narrative is incredible, leaving you breathless with emotion—crying one moment and smiling at its beauty the next.
The male lead, Elijah Volkov, is the Russian Pakhan and a member of The Venom Reapers. After losing everything, his obsession with a girl with amber eyes begins, an obsession fueled by hatred.
Our female lead, Zanae Dellè, is the heir to the Lebanese Mafia, a life filled with pain and sorrow. After a tragic event, she feels herself fading, but it’s not until she meets the green eyes that mirror her own pain that she begins to heal—only to realize those eyes belong to her family's sworn enemy.
What follows is a love so intense and extraordinary.
Dive into the world of the Venom Reapers and their little Z, and prepare to be captivated 🖤🖤🖤
What if we could heal invisible wounds? What if life offered a doctor who could see and mend what no one else could?
Zanae. She thought she was broken beyond repair, finding a way out of the loud chaos inside her head only in the sky, until she discovered a new star in the darkness of another's soul. Elijah He had lost the ability to feel years ago, but crossing paths with the woman he once hated made his heart ache and scream with sensations long buried under traumas and pains. Review
"Mine, in every way, scarred and beautiful.”
I received this as an arc review but the opinions are all my own and nothing but the truth.
If I could give this book more than 5 ⭐️’s I absolutely would. It’s shocking that this is a debut novel as the way Amethyst writes is absolutely beautiful and brilliant. Her word choices and the way she depicts mental health struggles in her book is so real. So raw. It’s powerful. Emotional. Captivating.
The characters are written so well and their personalities really shine due to that.
Elijah 💜 Niko 💜 They all have my heart. Zanae 💜
Also Dual POV?? Yes ma’am sign me up. One of my favorite things in books when done correctly and this book does not disappoint.
This book from start to finish had me feeling every single emotion. I don’t like to give spoilers in my reviews but please if you can handle the triggers and love a dark emotional book then READ THIS. I need the second book ASAP.
This is a book where I feel like no words can do it justice for how much I loved it. Thank you Amethyst for letting me read your work early and trusting me with it. I absolutely loved it and you’ll be an auto-buy author for me from this point)

Amethyst's evocative, spellbinding debut hits hard. Zanae is heir to the Lebanese mafia. But she's also grief-stricken and traumatised. Russian Pakhan, Elijah, is one half of the Venom Reapers. He's a rough nut who feels nothing and is deadly at his job. They should be sworn enemies, but when a mission brings them together, bonds are forged.
When Niko, the other half of the Venom Reapers, suggests the alliance, the disdain between the two sides is palpable from the author's words. However, as the mission plays out, the backstories of Zanae and Elijah are laid bare to each other, with emotive depictions. Their character growth throughout the 790 pages wholly captivates.
With a dual POV from both Zanae and Elijah, Nemesync is a tale of abuse and revenge, enemies to lovers, found family, grief and healing, Mafia/Bratva, friends/banter, mental health, and at its very heart is a love story against the odds. I'm looking forward to seeing what comes next in book 2.
This story really has everything. Enemies to lovers, mafia, gore, violence, trauma, death, unaliving attempt, betrayal. Honestly, some of the twists were expected but that didn't make them any less harrowing. The FMC was broken and damaged but that didn't stop her. She wanted revenge and she wanted to protect those she cared for. I loved how she could hold her own and give some of the characters a run for their money. The MMC is desperately obsessed and wants nothing more than revenge, including on our FMC. I love how they want similar things and need each other to get them. The side characters are hysterical and complex. I'm obsessed with Brian, Ben, and Niko. Even if they are team Dean and team Logan. We all know Rory belonged with Jess. (I love Gilmore Girls too. 😆) if I had to nitpick anything it's that this book could've benefited from another round or two of editing. However, that doesn't make this a bad story at all. Honestly, I can't wait for book 2.
Holy Hell my fucking Heart! 💔💔 What a story about grief and the struggles with mental health and inner demons! Such a roller coaster ride of emotions! This book and laughing, then crying, then breaking my heart only to put it back together again!
1st of all I have to give a shout out to Niko cause he was just freaking awesome and hilarious and I love him so much! Big scary mafia man who is just a big teddy bear 😍. Then there’s Elijah…..wow. Now he’s definitely a big scary mafia man but DAYUM…..🤤. The mouth on that man.
And all I want to do is hug and show love to Elijah and Zanae. Just two beautiful broken souls who found love in each other’s darkness. Wonderful story, thank you Amethyst for the journey!

𝓐𝓡𝓒 𝓻𝓮𝓿𝓲𝓮𝔀:- When I chatted with her she said it will be dark in a traumatic way and ket me tell you I sobbed. Why is that I can relate to the book 😭😭. Let me tell you, I was rooting for my baby to drop the book, she exactly knows how to drop all the sentiments. Elijah Volkov is such a hottie hottie. And who doesn't love a strong a strong FMC. The nicknames made me do a lil dance dance. The story was absolute masterpiece, please give this a read.
I have read a lot of books so far in my lifetime and I can honestly say I’ve never read anything quite like this. It was poetry, it was dark, it was soul crushing, and it was beautiful. It was so deep that I actually had to set it aside multiple times before I could pick it back up and dive into the stars again. Zanae and Elijah. This love is so beautiful and soulful. The hardships and pain that they go through really hits hard, but then gets pieced back together even stronger than before. I felt so many emotions while reading this book and look forward to reading more of their story.
Thank you so much for trusting me with your debut novel. It was beautiful.
