I received an advance copy and really enjoyed this book! I enjoy a good fantasy read and this one had a lot of really creative elements and twists! MC’s were both well written but I seriously loved some of the side characters who make me hope they will get their own book one day! I would give this one 🌶️🌶️ for my spice level. Some good passion but the romance was the more prominent element. Definitely worth the read for anyone looking for a creative paranormal/fantasy type romance!

I love a good PNR and this one was absolutely fantastic. Damian and Owen’s story had me hooked from the moment I picked the book up. This was a new and interesting take on the battle of light and dark, good vs evil and how sometimes the people that live in the grey can go either way and all is not always what it seems

“Could be worse things than having a legacy wizard devoted to you, huh?”
I really enjoyed this one, the story was unique and fun. I really liked the concept.
I loved the use of unicorns and not making big them seem childish, instead they were pretty badass.
Both Owen and Damien were pretty cool, and both adapted to the life of monsters and ghosts pretty well. I love how they both just know each other is the one.
The house gave me haunted mansion vibes but with a good guy wizard in charge.
I loved all the ghosts and the way Owen made an effort to be friends with everyone in the house, no matter that they were dead.

There's a magical amount of revelation in Twisted Fates.
A driver learns he's a wizard. A lawyer learns he can be loved--then he learns a lot more. Ghosts and wizards and other mystical creatures haunt the events and enhance the story.
Adam J. Ridley's style is clean and compelling. The book, part of the Tales of the Tarot series, keeps things moving, mysterious and marvelous.

Another entry in the Tales from the Tarot, this one featuring the Wheel of Fortune.
I definitely thought that this one really encompassed the meanings of the card in the themes and story.
However...I didn't really like this one!
The story itself was fine. The pacing was a bit off for me. It constantly felt like it was moving at a break neck pace. Things were always happening but not in a good way.
There wasn't enough time to focus on both the magic and the relationship. The relationship felt kind of neglected. There were moments that things were happening but they didn't serve to further relationship or plot for me. In other moments, this just happen because it is time for it to happen. One moment Owen & Damian wanna take it slow but next moment they're having sex because magical plot convenience.
The whole thing with the really confused me. It didn't really feel necessary and there wasn't really any explanation of why they were the It just seems like the terms were borrowed from Hebrew and Arabic languages. Maybe I missed it?

Another Brilliant novel in the Tales from the Tarot Collection
I couldn’t put this story down. The novel, the characters, and the writing were fantastic. Ridley is a brilliant author who creates such wonderful stories that you don’t want them to end. This was the case with Twisted Fates. I had such a good time getting to know the characters that when the story ended; I was bummed. The secondary characters were equally as enjoyable adding to the brilliance of the story.
I can’t go into too much detail about this novel without giving plot points away. There are a couple of bugaboos I have about this story that I’m going to share. First, I felt that the story was rushed to meet certain beats and plot points, which bothered me. When I enjoy a book, I want the author to dive deep so I can get to know the characters and the world. The other nit I have with this novel is that as much as I understood why things happened the way they did, I felt like the characters didn’t have much of a say in what was emerging around them, which did annoy me. However, that said, I get it and I appreciate why everything occurred the way it did. And despite this critique I really enjoyed the writing and the story. I hope Ridley revisits this world because I would love to know more and see what else these characters get up to.

Twisted Fates is the 11th book in the multi-author series Tale of the Tarot and serves to represent the Wheel of Fortune card from the tarots Major Arcana. In the upright position the Wheel of Fortune card represents change and unexpected events. While in the reverse position it indicates a lack of control and clinging to the control you have and being unwelcome to change.
Change is something that crashed into the lives of Damien a taxi driver who is just struggling to get by, and Owen a paralegal who is new to the city only to turn everything they knew about their lives upside down. Damien’s life takes an unexpected turn after he is willed a ring naming him as the new Legacy Wizard, and does remarkable well accepting his new life. Owen on the other hand, feels like his life is out of control and has a hard time accepting the new magical world he has been thrust into. Damien and Owen find themselves in a whirlwind romance that leaves them both with intense feelings, but everything is put to the test when the darkness that is determined to go destroy everything good in the world and separate them for all of eternity.
The story of Damien and Owen is a great representation of the Wheel of Fortune, everything around them is changing in such significant ways that it is understandable to be overwhelmed by it all. This was a quick read that immediate grabbed my attention. I loved they dynamics between Damien and Owen, and how sweet they are with one another despite being unsure of the It was was also great to meet the side characters in the book, the ghost cook is an absolute sweetie that deserves all the happiness in the world. There is a small third act break up in this book, but thankfully is resolved quickly and the HEA leaves you giggling and kicking your feet.

I really liked how the tarot cards and The Magic Shop were prominent in this story. Damien and Owen were good together and their relationship, although being at insta-love speed, felt natural and developed. I liked especially that Damien found a way for Owen to feel comfortable in the house and have his own space once they realized they had magically moved in together.
The drama where Owen simply hoped on a plane back to his mom’s house felt overdone and unnecessary, especially since Owen knew all the problems around with the dark forces, Molly and Shadow, etc. Had he not taken an impulsive decision, several people would have not died. I wanted to see them having a proper conversation in the aftermath instead of jumping straight to the epilogue a year later.
Overall it was a good story and a good instalment for the series.

Here we have another well written addition to The Tales from the Tarot series. We're told it's based on The Wheel of Fortune card, and in the book, both MCs meet The Owner and have a Tarot card drawn for them although only one of them actually visits The Magic Shop. This was an interesting and entertaining story.

A great read! Loved Damien and Owen. It's an instalove story but it is smoothly done with so many other elements being at the forefront. All the side characters were entertaining in themselves. I think Cary needs his own story!

A BRILLIANT AND INTERESTING READ.
This was such an intensely intriguing read with such a great story and memorable characters. I really liked Owen and Damien a lot. A fantastic addition to the Multi-author Tales From the Tarot series.

Twisted Fates is based on the Major Arcana card, the Wheel of Fortune: destiny, fortune, success, elevation, luck, felicity. Reversed: Increase, abundance, superfluity. In the novel, a world exists where the Wheel of Fortune spins destinies, where two souls collide in a whirlwind of magic and desire. The tale of Damien and Owen vividly embodies the essence of the Wheel of Fortune; the world around them is in a constant state of flux, transforming in ways so profound that it’s entirely understandable to feel swept away by it all. It unfolds as an “Insta-love” narrative, yet it’s executed in a way that’s believable while not overly saccharine. There’s a palpable spark of passion between the characters, but the “spice factor” remains moderate, allowing the romance between the two men to blossom into the overarching centrepiece of the story. The pace of the narrative, overall, is quick, which enhances the feeling of “loss of control” and leads to both exciting and frustrating (in the best way) choices and actions that may not have occurred in a slower, more methodical storytelling style. I felt the whirlwind, and I allowed it to take me.
