One Night Stand Ever After is a best friend’s little sister/forbidden romance and is the 3rd book in the ‘Unforgettable Fire’ series. The brother and the MMC were close growing up but didn’t seem very close as adults, so that did take away a bit from the plot. There’s definitely some past baggage including potential triggers that hinder these two from trusting in love and each other. Those really carried the story and made it have some substance. I’ll note the warnings below.

The relationship between Max & Anna completely hinged on sex, and we didn’t get to really experience a lot of relationship building/deeper chemistry. The first time a foot fetish was mentioned I was like ugh, this is going to get cringey fast! Luckily, it was a pretty tame fetish and didn’t completely give me the ick.

This story ends in an HEA, but it felt rushed and could have definitely benefited from an epilogue. It did seem unlikely that our MMC would completely throw away his belief system, which is built on years of previous trauma. I guess that’s where a suspension of belief and reminder that this is definitely fictional is necessary.

I kinda wish we got to experience more of the grandmothers in the story as I really enjoyed their characters. It was quite obvious throughout the entire book that they were playing Cupid, but a part of me also questioned if they were secretly having a relationship. Plot twist? Haha 😆

While these books are noted as being able to be read as standalones, I do think it would have made the reading experience more satisfying to have read the first two books as the characters from them make multiple notable appearances. That being said, there was enough detail where I wasn’t completely confused by reading this book as a standalone.

If you like small town romances filled with quirky characters and lots of spice, this book is right up your alley! Overall, it was a short & fast read.

3.5 ⭐️ rounded down.

Cute sweet small town romance — like a spicy hallmark movie! Max is an uptight business man, Anna is spontaneous and fun dancer. Anna runs into Max at a bar and immediately clocks him as her childhood crush — they have a one night stand and promise no strings attached. Then they’re called back to their small hometown to help their respective grandmothers. Chaos, antics, and spice ensue. I appreciated this book for its near non-existent third act break-up. The characters came off as a little surface level but it’s a short romance so we didn’t have a lot of time to truly learn about them. Ultimately if you’re looking for cute, light, and short — this might be for you!

Thanks to Net Galley and the publisher for an ARC of this book. All opinions are my own.

I received eARC for my honest opinion

This is the third book of the Unforgettable Fire series, I can say that I didn’t read the first two books but I was able to understand everything that was going on, but now that I have read this book I can’t wait to go back and read the others. This book can be read as a standalone though. This book is all about a forbidden love between Anna and Max. Max was told by Anna’s brother that he was not to touch her because he knew that Max was not able when he was younger to connect with someone romantically and then again as an adult because he is still not able to committed to anyone and he is an work alcoholic, but who can stand in the way of two grandmothers who are wanting to play matchmaker with their grandchildren.

I thought this book was fun, easy, great banter and fun characters. You will see that there is some past baggage that makes it harder for them to trust in love and themselves as well as others. The author knows how to write a book that does have a foot fetish and make it so it's not so cringey. Trust me if it was cringey I wouldn’t have been able to finish this book. I thought the characters were easy to connect with, and both the MFC and MMC had some great growth between them and within themselves. Their relationship starts off and ends really on sex, you won’t see a lot of depth in their relationship but I promise you will get some great spice and you will deepen in the characters themselves more. I do wish we had a little more connection from the characters though. I liked that Anna and Max were complete opposites and not a couple that would have tried to make it work until they had some help from their grandmothers. Their grandmothers really made this story great for me, their meddling from the side lines was the best.

If you’re looking for a book that is fun, spicy, has brothers best friend, opposites attract, small town romance, and fast to read this is a book that you should pick up.

I want to thank NetGalley and Entangled publishing for the opportunity to review this book.

ONE NIGHT STAND EVER AFTER By Amanda Usen

Anna Rivera may not be ready to say goodbye to her burlesque troupe—or New York City—but she’s determined to go out with a bang. Which is when she sees a face in the crowd that sends her heart rate through the roof. Max Cooper. Her brother’s friend, and the object of many, many teenage fantasies. But while Max may look like sin in a suit, he’s not prepared for the moves she’s got in store…

Max knows he should turn away—Anna’s been off-limits forever—but he can’t help himself. The electric connection sizzles between them, but Max knows better than to play with fire. This calls for rules. Boundaries. Setting out expectations. Just a hot little hook-up and that’s it.

But fate plays dirty. Soon Max and Anna find themselves stuck in their small hometown together, and avoiding that sexy spark is impossible. Now they’re sneaking around enjoying one month of no-holds-barred, unbelievably wicked sex—until Anna leaves for her next gig. And all the consequences in the world might not be enough to stop this fling they’ve started…

😊What i liked -

✔ One Night Stand/Brothers Best Friend/Forbidden/Small Town.
✔ I liked how opposite in personalities both Anna and Max were.
✔ Anna was a good combination of fun and a strong FMC.

This book surprised me, but I actually found myself enjoying the Hallmark-but-make-it-spicy vibes.
This is book 3 in a series about the members of a burlesque dance troupe, and although I had NOT read the first two before going into this one, I feel like this held its own as a standalone and I didn't feel like I was missing things from the others.
I HATE this cover, like I would NEVER pick up a book with this cover on a normal day, BUT the small town vibe was cute and equally matched the one night stand spice vibe.

- This book starts off with a very steamy one night stand, and then embarks on a cute small-town adventure.
- The fact that this plot is about Anna and Max both helping their respective grandmothers to save their small town businesses is so classic and I fell for its charm too
- I didn't find myself hating either of the characters - although their charade of "not caring that much" got old super quick
- The fact that Anna is a dancer made my little heart so happy - she was chasing a passion and helping others while doing it.
- Levi was an okay character, but honestly I think his significance was greatly overshadowed. That and his rotten attitude toward their secret relationship was just annoying.

Ultimately, I was surprised with how much I enjoyed this.

This one was both sweet and spicy. If you like a good story with some great spice, this one is for you! The story itself wasn’t terribly long, I read it in one sitting, and I found myself not wanting to put it down.
They’re small town people who lived out big city dreams, are back in the small town and debating whether to go big again. She’s got a shot in Vegas but she doesn’t know if she’s just a fling to him. He wants her but doesn’t want to hold her back from her dreams. Is it something that could have been solved with a simple conversation? For sure. But where’s the drama in that. As they figure out each other, they also show really vulnerable sides of themselves, and with their actions with the townspeople they are shown to both be really great people and probably perfect for each other. If only they would talk about it! 🤣

First, I want to thank WNY Author Amanda Usen and Entangled Publishing for providing me with this book so I can bring you this review.

WOW!! I knew this was going to be a fun read but dang Amanda Usen turned up the heat with this one! One Night Stand Ever After had some spice to it and oh Amanda has a gift for this genre!! There were some explicit scenes where I felt I was a fly on the wall watching.

One aspect of the book that I appreciated that was mentioned in the book was the practice of safe sex and how important condoms are.

I kept laughing that the couple's nicknames for eachother was Book Boy and Pancakes.

Thank you to Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC of this title.
This is a brother's best friend and opposites attract book. Anna is a free spirited belly dancer who has her sights set of performing in Las Vegas.
Max is a rigid business consultant who likes to set rules and stick with them. Anna harbored feelings for Max as a child and couldn't capture Max's attention to save her life. Now that she's all grown up, Max can't help but be drawn to Anna as she sees her dancing at a local bar.
A quickie in a storage closet leads to a summer romance dictated by rules to ensure neither gets attached.
This book is a series of hookups between our main characters, one involving underwater activities that I'm not sure are possible without drowning. The story lacked depth and beyond the physical attraction, the main characters never developed a mature, emotional relationship. The plot was missing a major conflict moving the story to a climax. It was difficult to find a reason to invest in the relationship or this book.

Thank you NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for this ARC.

Yikes. This book just wasn't for me. Might be someone else's cup of tea though. On the bright side, it was a fairly quick read and a low-stakes romance. Though I do think reading the other books in this series is necessary since all these other characters make notable appearances throughout this story and that left me feeling quite lost.

Everything was just cringey for me, idk the whole book gave me the ick. There was no real character development since the main leads barely had a personality in and of themselves. I was not invested in their relationship either as the entire book was more focused on showing them working on their respective projects instead of showing how they fell in love and connected. Even with the premise and trope of 'brother's best friend', the moment of confrontation was so anticlimatic. The main dude didn't even seem to be a best friend for said brother lol. He interacted more with his estranged grandmother than the supposed best friend.

That you for the ARC NetGalley!

Okay, Brother’s best friend!! I purposely took my time reading this book. I wanted to write a good review. It was sweet. It was EXTREMELY SPICY!!! The spice was almost on the verge of overboard. It had a different plot then I am use to.

The reason I took a star away was because I could easily put it down. I was not telling my husband and kids to leave me alone. Lol. The writing was well done and I plan to read more of this author in the future!

This book is a brother's best friend and mostly set in a small town. Anna and Max haven't seen each other in years and run into each other in NYC. After a one night stand, they both end back in their small hometown together and can't deny the spark they have. The reason I only rated this 3.5 is because it was quite predictable, I wish there had been a deeper connection between the characters, and I'm not sure how I feel about the slight foot fetish.... It wasn't bad, just a little lighter than my normal reads.

I enjoyed the side characters and the little town. Overall this was a cute (don't mistake cute for closed door though), quick read. Gave me Hallmark movie vibes. If you are looking for a light, sexy romance you should give this one a shot.

One Night Stand Ever After - Review

The book starts off in NYC with the main female character, Anna Rivera, a dancer at her burlesque farewell party, when she spots Max Cooper, a guy she knows from her childhood. Anna had always had a crush on him and remembers he never gave her the time of day back then.

In comes the re-meet-cute Max, the main male character. He is immediately drawn to Anna and her dancing. He recognizes her instantly, and sparks fly. They notice each other, have mutual friends, and suddenly, they have an incredible “no-strings-attached” one-night stand.

As the story plays out, Anna returns to her small hometown to help her brother and grandmother at the local diner. Max also returns to the same small town to help his grandmother spruce up a local business. Unbeknownst to either one of them, they both end up in the same small town at the same time.

The steam in this book begins immediately, and for the most part, the chemistry between Anna and Max is physical. Max lives by rules to protect himself from his traumatic past, and Anna lives carefree, ready to break them.

There is not much character development between the two main characters or the supporting characters, but there really isn’t a need for it. This novel gives off a steamy Hallmark movie vibe and is great if you want a quick “by-the-pool” summer read without having to think too much into it. If you’re looking for that, this is the book for you.

Note, I read this book as a standalone and not as part of the series.

Thank you, Entangled Publishing LLC, and NetGalley, for this ARC to read and review.

SCRUMPTIOUS low-stakes, high-spice romance in a small town reminiscent of 'The Summer I Turned Pretty' when they're teens and 'Hart of Dixie' when they're adults. It's starts with a coyote-ugly night on the town and a romp in the supply closet. I'm telling yall - SPICY! If you've been around a few adult romances, you might be tempted to think you'll seen it all. But the way that Usen writes is rich with modern sensibilities and casual kink. I ate it up!

Anna is a dancer - that's her calling, and her passion but her endeavors in New York are coming to a close. She has no idea what her next step is until her childhood crush steps into the bar. But he's less of a 'next step' and more like a 'one-night'. Disappointed by their short reunion, she moved back to her small town to help her grandma for the summer. Only, guess who blows into town to help HIS grandma? Is it fate, luck, or meddlesome retirees? It's definitely a good excuse to continue their summer fling, but the clock is ticking.

I loved the atmospheric setting of this lake side, mountain aired small town. They reminisce about their childish pranks, past relationships and different upbringings. Cozy read with no villains, the only real barriers are themselves and the past hurts to overcome. Although I read it as a standalone, fans of the series will love this heartwarming finale. I will be reading the earlier books now.

Teasers - dancing on a bar, quickies in public, town hall bingo, night swimming, intro to foot fetish (nothing scary lol), lap dancing, multiple os, 'Waitress' style singing and baking, a lot of delicious food.

Thank you Net Galley and Entangled Publishing for the arc in exchange for an honest review.

This book combines the classic trope of a brother's best friend with the excitement of an opposites-attract storyline. Our protagonist, Anna, is a free-spirited belly dancer who dreams of performing in Las Vegas. She contrasts sharply with Max, a rigid business consultant who thrives on setting and sticking to rules. Anna's childhood crush on Max went unnoticed, but now that she's grown up, Max is irresistibly drawn to her when he sees her performing at a local bar.

Their relationship starts with an impulsive and steamy encounter in a storage closet, leading to a summer romance governed by strict rules to keep emotions at bay. The book features a series of passionate hookups, including one particularly implausible underwater scene that left me questioning its feasibility without the risk of drowning.

While the chemistry between Anna and Max is palpable, and their physical interactions are intensely described, the story lacks depth. The main characters fail to develop a mature, emotional connection beyond physical attraction. This superficiality in their relationship makes it hard to root for them as a couple.

Furthermore, the plot misses a significant conflict to drive the narrative towards a compelling climax. The story feels flat and directionless, without a major hurdle or challenge for Anna and Max to overcome together. This absence of a solid narrative arc makes investing emotionally in their journey difficult.

When I finished reading One Night Stand Ever After, it immediately made me want to pick up the rest of the books in the series. Anna is a dance instructor and dancing troupe member whose troupe is disbanding. She's out celebrating their final day together when she runs into Max, her brother's childhood best friend. Their chemistry is immediate, and they agree to explore it together with a one night stand. After they hook up, Max leaves her to enjoy the company of her friends, and they both think that's the end of it.

When Anna's grandmother needs a hip replacement, Anna returns to her small hometown to run her grandmother's diner while she recuperates from surgery. The last person she expects to run into is Max, who is back in town to assist his own estranged grandmother with a business development plan for the town's main street. The two decide to secretly continue their liason for as long as they're both in town, and you can probably guess the rest.

This is a solid choice for someone who is looking for a low anxiety romance. Yes, they're sneaking around together and they both have their own goals that threaten to keep them apart, but they end up deeply caring for each other and they choose their feelings over their plans. This book combines small town romance and elements of the brother's best friend trope, and it's really well done. I definitely recommend it for fans of both.

Wow. The spice right from the start?! Bold. Also, I couldn't stop reading.

SWEET AND SMUTTY. That's the review.

There was such a heart-warming story under all that spice 🥵 that I actually shed a few tears when it came to the family discussions near the end. Both the FMC and MMC showed so much growth. It was a fun, easy read and I was pleasantly surprised!

ᴛʀᴏᴘᴇꜱ:
☆Dual POV
☆Small Town Romance
☆Brother's Friend/Off Limits
☆Opposites Attract

This is the third book in the 𝑼𝒏𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒈𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝑭𝒊𝒓𝒆 series, with each one being a Standalone. I read this perfectly fine without needing to have read the others.

ʙʟᴜʀʙ:
Anna Rivera is the spontaneous, adventure-seeking burlesque/belly dancing woman, whose determined to end her time in New York with a bang. Literally. Her teenage fantasy, brother's best friend, Max Cooper, walks into her life. Max is an up-tight, suit-wearing, control freak, who knows Anna has been off-limits forever.

However, they can't deny their electric connection. A one night stand with boundaries, rules & expectations is the best solution, right? But fate plays dirty...

Both Anna and Max find themselves back in their small hometown together failing to resist the spark between them. All the consequences in the world might not be able to stop this fling they've started.

Brother's best friend with a side of small town romance. Anna Rivera hasn't seen Max Cooper in years - not since the summers she'd spent in Rainbow Cove when they were growing up - so he's the last person she expects to see walk into the NYC bar where her burlesque troupe is having it's farewell party. One utility closet hookup later, and he's out the door before she has a chance to reconsider their 'no-strings' agreement. That should have been it, but it seems fate has other ideas, because when Anna finds herself back in Rainbow Cove to take over her grandmother's diner for a few weeks, Max Cooper once again walks through the door.

This was a quick, fun, and spicy romance, with two easy to like main characters - I especially loved Anna's passion for dance and her eagerness to teach anyone that wants to learn. The small town aspects were heartwarming, with both Anna and Max dropping everything to come back and help their grandmothers, and the rest of the town's willingness to chip in where needed. Overall a sweet read, but with plenty of sexy too.

Miss Spontaneity meets Mr. young Curmudgeon, how could there be fireworks?!
Anna Rivera is going home to Rainbow Cove to help her grandmother while she is recuperating and while Anna is figuring out her next steps. She has been in NYC for years but her band of burlesque dancers is breaking up so out of necessity, she is moving on. She has also been mourning the death of her Ex, Tim, who was her everything. But, when she sees Max Cooper again, a renewed spark begins to flame. As a young girl she had a big crush on Max who was her brother’s best friend. As young people the age difference was significant enough for Levi to warn Max to stay away from his sister. Now, however, as adults the age difference is not so great. Can Anna be happy back in Rainbow Cove? Can Max be as well? Can the unpredictable Anna sway Max’s plans made in cement? Having read the whole series, it was really nice having the gang from the previous books back together, albeit in cameo appearances…until the ending. Ms. Usen has done it again. Clearly, she is a genius in rom-com-speak! If you like well-written, fun, sweet and steamy rom-coms, you will want to read this series. No doubt in my mind. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through Entangled and NetGalley.

This is a first time read for me by this author. It is a classic forbidden romance that balances tension, heat, and emotional depth with just the right amount of humor. Anna is Max's best friend's little sister and has always been off-limits. Anna has harbored her own fantasies about Max since she was a teenager. When fate brings them in each other's paths, Max is determined to keep things casual despite the intense connection between them. His internal conflict as he tries to keep his distance is palpable, but Anna’s fiery spirit and undeniable allure quickly make those walls crumble. Their chemistry is off the charts, and their connection, though initially a no-strings-attached fling, grows deeper and more complicated with every passing day.

While the steamy romance is the central draw, the book also explores themes of personal growth, family dynamics, and the sometimes messy nature of love. The small-town setting, where the two are forced to face their feelings for each other, adds a layer of warmth and intimacy to the narrative.

If you are one who enjoys forbidden romance and steamy love stories, then this will provide a great escape, with both heat and heart.

This book was not for me which is disappointing because the summary sounded like something I would like. But I found myself more annoyed than anything while reading.
Max is Anna’s older brother’s best friend. She had a huge crush on him when they were young but he just ignored her. Anna has not seen max since they were 12 years old; but when some man walks into a bar that she’s doing a dance performance at that she does not recognize, she just knows it has to be Max by the way he walks to the bar without paying attention to her. And just like that she feels an intense longing for the man even tho she was just teary eyed and grieving another man before he walked in. Once we get past that the story does get better but It didn’t feel like there was much more to this couple than the physical intimacy.

*I should add that I have not read the other 2 books from this series. But it is supposed to be a standalone

*I also feel like a content warning that this book may not be suitable for people grossed out by foot fetishes could also help

Anna Rivera has lived the life in her burlesque troupe and she is determined to go out with as much fanfare as possible. Yet when she sees her brother’s best friend in the crowd – Max Cooper, her childhood crush, she is stunned. However, Max is in for a surprise as he knows that Anna is off-limits but the connection between them is electric. They are both determined that this will just be a little hook-up and that’s it. When Max and Anna find themselves stuck in their small hometown together, it becomes hard to fight their attraction. Soon they are sneaking around until Anna leaves for her next gig.
There was plenty of chemistry between the characters but at times, I wished for a bit more depth in their relationship. I always enjoy the brother best friend romance and this ticked that box. The secondary characters were enjoyable and the small-town setting, made for a good read. Whilst part of a series, this can be read as a stand-alone.

The book opens with Anna and her burlesque troupe the Glitter Girls having one last hurrah before the curtain closes on them. Emotions are high and then she spots her adolescent crush and her older brother’s friend Max. Still stinging from what she perceived as his blatant ridicule of her, Anna decides to go all out and show grownup Max what a bombshell adult Anna has become, then leave him unfulfilled.
However, Anna miscalculates the impact their interaction has and ends up having a steamy one off with the remote Max.
Circumstances (and grannies) conspire to force Anna and Max to work together, and they continue their physical relationship.
When things become complicated, what will happen when their collaboration ends?
I love a brother’s best friend romance, and I did enjoy this one. This was the third book in the series and at the outset I had difficulty parsing out what exactly the familial ties were all around, but eventually it became clear. While the author can certainly write great plotting and pacing of an intimate scene, the dialogue here can be mad cringe.
All in all a sexy read with some tragic events depicted (mostly off page).
I received an advance reader copy from the author and NetGalley, and I’m sharing my honest impressions.

Thank you to Netgalley, Entangled and Ms. Usen for the opportunity to read an ARC of this title. An honest review was requested but not required.

This was not for me. There was hardly any plot, just a series of hookups (VERY DETAILED hookups) but with barely any emotional connection I felt completely uninvested in the two main characters' relationship. Max and Anna spend 50% of their time on their work projects and 48% of their time on hooking up which leaves very little time for getting to know each other, growing together, emotional investment, etc., etc., etc. Also there is a foot fetish on his part, which, ew. I found myself skimming through each intimate encounter which resulted in a skim of about half the book.

I liked the grandmas but it wasn't enough to save the book for me. Even the advertised "older brother" trope was a bit of a let-down. YMMV but this one wasn't for me.

⭐1/2 stars rounded up to 2 for the grandmas.

I adored One Night Stand with Benefits by Amanda Usen last year and was excited to read One Night Stand Ever After when the opportunity came my way.

This is the third book in the Unforgettable Fire series and follows Anna and Max as an old crush resurfaces. Small town romance meets best friend's forbidden little sister with tantalizing steam. The pacing of events is fairly fast. There is history between the two MCs but I did feel that there wasn't enough present day chemistry build outside of the hot bumchicawawa scenes. Honestly this could be due to me missing one of the books in the series. It still felt like a standalone though and kept me entertained.

I also felt this was more romancey instead of romcom this round. Nothing wrong with that but I missed Usen's writing humor and witty moments. Still a hot as heck read with loveable characters that I'd recommend to my romance readers!

Thank you Entangled for the gifted digital copy! All thoughts are my own!

This book is spicy! When Usen introduces us to the characters we immediately find intense chemistry! At first, I thought it was too much but I kept reading and instantly understood how and why it is there. I love it. The romance, the spice, the unknown, yet rule following pleasure. It was interesting to read the dynamic between these two characters. Anna is a relatable character that I adore. At certain points in our lives, we get bored of our current adventure and must make a new branch to experience life more. Wise words that left me wanting to read more "Adventure isn't about where you are; it's how you approach your life" Usen. I now know this was the third book in this series and now I am going back to read more of her books. I would pick up this book today if you want a spicy story about completely relatable characters and adventure. This is the book for you. I adore it so.

"One Night Stand Ever After" is a light and easy contemporary romance. Lots of fun tropes, including small town, brother's best friend, opposites attract, and forced proximity. FMC Anna is a free-spirited dancer looking for her next adventure, MMC Max is a straight-laced business saver (I think?) who has never met a rule he didn't like. Yet somehow they work.

This book is apparently the third in a series but it works fine as a standalone (I haven't read the first two books). The spice starts early and is spicing and I am not complaining. What I am complaining about is the book both opening and closing with separation based on miscommunication. It just isn't my jam.

3 stars. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a complimentary copy of this book. These opinions are my own.

This was a quick read with a “best friend’s little sister,” and childhood crush trope coming to fruition. The third person written book has excellent banter and lots of great lines. Max and Anna are easy to get invested in, and their history is revealed fairly quickly, so you just are waiting to see how it all unfolds before them. Let me tell you, some of that unfolding included some fun and spicy scenes.

This book is free of overly angsty, drama, with just a few personality hiccups amongst the characters. World building is excellent with just right amount of detail. I have to say that Rainbow Cove is someplace I’d like to live. I love that other characters are brought into the story from the previous two novels, but are not required reading to enjoy this book. A thoroughly enjoyable romedy that kept me well entertained.

-Brother's Best Friend (Childhood Best Friends)
-Opposites Attract
-Meddling Grandmothers
-Small Town Romance
-Plenty Of Spice 🌶️

"One Night Stand Ever After" book three in the Unforgettable Fire series, was a fast-paced read.

I think this book would be a great fit for anyone who's looking for a fun spicy read . Max and Anna the MC's seem to have polar opposite personalities but they are pulled together by desire, chemistry and two meddling Grandmother's who were arguably my favorite part of the story.

I think the storyline was more spice than plot forward. The romance definitely ran hot but I wish we could have seen more of connection on a deeper level.

3.5⭐ (Rounded Up To 4)

One Night Stand Ever After is a 🤗 fun, quick read. All of the characters are entertaining, and I enjoyed the background characters enough to go read the 2 prior books in this series of standalones.

There is a slight 🦶 foot fetish, so I was unsure if I would have to skip over some of the steamy scenes, but thankfully it wasn't overly addressed.
