First hand accounts of living among the Cherokee leading up to the Trail of Tears were facinating. As were anecdotes of hardships of enduring Civil War and witnessing Battle of Chicamauga. Rest of book mostly name dropping all the Methodist ministers in his 73 years as a circuit rider with occassional mention of the towns he lived in and prominent citzens there. All in all a charming book.
