As Jackie and Dimitri get closer, emotions begin to run high. But falling for Dimitri could cost Jackie more than just her heart—it could cost them both their lives.
✨ARC✨ For my second ARC read , it was absolutely amazing ! I love how Jackie was a thick girl . It’s very rare to have the FMC be on the thick side . Was well refreshing . I didn’t appreciate how quickly one of the side characters just dying like that 😭😭 had me bawling . I picked up quickly that Dimitri would’ve fell for her after he got 🐱whipped (I would’ve too not gonna lie😂😂) . The reverse grumpy x sunshine was epic to say the least . Now the SPICE ?! HEELLLOOOO ?! The spice HIT 1000% !!!! It took a couple of days to read it due to my book slump but I’m glad I got to experience this ARC . I appreciate this gem and can’t wait to get the physical copy on release day !!
I enjoyed this read! The characters, the plot, the spice were all very good. I loved that there was a good solid plot and story along with character development. Also a very cool part of the book was the chapter titles as song titles that went along with the overall feel of the book.
I feel like the book was a good insight into the background of the characters and how/why they are where they are today. The banter between Jackie and Dimitri is top tier!
I can’t wait for book 2 and more Jackie and Dimitri!
I really enjoyed this book! It was easy to read, with a captivating plot that kept me wanting to keep reading & it tugged at my heartstrings. I love the character Jackie she is confident and unapologetically herself. Overall, I highly recommend it.I’m
This is my honest review for 'Blindspot' Book 1, by B.A Rothney.
I went into this book blind since I needed to get into the story of Jackie and Dimitri before I started book 2, and it didn't disappoint! I love a good book that has a secret agent storyline, and this one files nicely into the category. Jackie was recruited by Masters, and first in line to take over being his nr 2. Unfortunately Masters came to an unfortunate death due to a coup, so Jackie now has to work together with the new men in charge. Which one of them is Dimitri, who is attracted to Jackie from the first time he laid eyes on her. Jackie is a tough cookie, hardened over time due to her field of work. She is such a cool chick, witty, funny sarcasm, she is just a very lovable character! Dimitri is supposed to be a smart spy, maybe he is, maybe he isn't, but this book showed more of his 'chasing after Jackie to get into spice', the muscles are there, but Jackie is way way smarter. I loved his soft side though. As for spice, there is a lot of push and pull and getting under each other's skin, but when they finally come together, it really hits all the right spots. There is a question though that in my eyes hasn't been addressed to a close, so maybe this loophole will be closed in book 2.
I had a little trouble at first it being written in 3rd /multiple person PoV, but because the writing style was flowing nicely, I could really appreciate switching PoV during chapters to avoid the 1PoV per chapter you usually see. So that was a plus eventually.
A thrilling mix of treachery, retaliation, and forbidden desire can be found in B.A. Rothney's "Blindspot." The narrative centers on Jacklyn Young, a strong and independent agent whose world falls apart when her mentor Masters is assassinated in a coup orchestrated by the attractive agents Dimitri Fraser and Theo Clarke. What starts out as a revenge story quickly devolves into a heartbreaking emotional storm of rival allegiances, perilous chemistry, and heartbreak.
At first, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The beginning felt chaotic and detached, almost cold, but as I kept reading, I realized how wrong I was to doubt it. Jackie’s rage, Dimitri’s guilt-ridden affection, and Theo’s icy unpredictability drew me deep into a web of deceit that I couldn’t escape. I fell deeply in love with Dimitri, the deadly but compassionate agent, especially when he referred to Jackie as "Sunshine." He battled his demons to keep her safe despite his involvement in the coup, and it was hard to resist falling in love with him.
Conversely, Theo is the type of person you love to despise. His decisions were cold, calculated, and horribly complicated; they left me both enraged and enthralled right up until the very end. The tension between the trio is electric, and the spice level? Definitely high, with scenes that pulse with passion and danger alike.
Despite its brutality, “Blindspot” shines through its raw emotion and morally gray characters. I can’t wait to see what chaos unfolds next in the series.
"I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.” Blindspot. In this gripping espionage thriller, a violent coup shatters Jackie Young’s world, stripping her of both her father figure and her role within a covert intelligence agency. Left reeling, Jackie must navigate the treacherous aftermath alongside Theo Clark and Dimitri Fraser the very agents responsible for the betrayal that turned her life upside down. As Jackie plots her path to revenge, she’s forced to work closely with the duo. Theo, ever-calculating, partners her with Dimitri in hopes of uncovering her hidden secrets. Meanwhile, Dimitri dangerous, enigmatic, and alluring sets his sights on winning Jackie’s trust and affection. Despite an initial rebuff, his determination only grows. The narrative deeply explores the complex dynamics between the three: Jackie’s simmering anger and grief, Theo’s strategic manipulation, and Dimitri’s internal conflict between duty and desire. As Jackie and Dimitri’s connection intensifies, so do the stakes. Their growing bond threatens not only her mission but both their lives. Taut with tension and rich in emotional depth, this story delivers a compelling exploration of loyalty, betrayal, and the high cost of falling for the enemy. 💛
So here’s the tea... "Blindspot" was a good read. Jackie is tough as nails, refuses to stay down, and gives off major “don’t mess with me” energy after betrayal wrecks her world. Then you’ve got Dimitri… lethal, broody, but secretly a cinnamon roll only for her 👀. Their slow-burn rivals-to-lovers tension plus forced proximity made for some delicious angst, and the spice was just enough without taking over the plot.
Now, it’s written in 3rd POV, which isn’t my vibe, but the story still held my interest. Jackie’s grit paired with Dimitri’s fall-first devotion kept me turning pages. Not mind-blowing, but definitely solid. If you like spies, betrayal, and angsty slow-burn, this one’s worth adding to your TBR.
My Ratings: ⭐ 4/5 ▪︎ 🥵 3/5

Spy vs. Spy enemies to lovers that has sweet moments too
Jackie and Dimitri are both spies at competing agencies until Dimitri’s stages a coup and kills Jackie’s boss (& father figure in her life) right in front of her. Despite that she cannot help her attraction to him. After being given the ultimatum by his boss Theo to join their newly merged agency or get killed too she agrees and is forced to partner with Dimitri multiple times on jobs. Through their assignments and his incessant flirting (& two spicy fool around sessions) they find their chemistry goes even deeper. In getting to know one another they fall for each other until Theo being jealous and paranoid tries to turn them against each other. They do get their HEA but it is hard won to say the least. I enjoyed the story a lot, not a huge fan of third person but the story was compelling enough to overlook that. I am interested to see what happens with the agency next!
Blindspot by B. A. Rothney is an engaging series opener that pulls you into its world with strong character voices and a well-layered plot. The pacing balances slow-burn development with moments of intensity, making it easy to get invested. What stood out most was the emotional depth — you can sense the author laying down threads that will matter even more in the next installment.
As the first book, it works well in introducing the characters and setting the foundation for the series. Some parts may feel like groundwork, but that’s also what makes you curious to see how it all unfolds in book two. Rothney’s writing is vivid and has a strong sense of atmosphere, which makes it easy to imagine the scenes.
A great start to what promises to be an intriguing series. Recommended for readers who enjoy layered storytelling and series that build momentum across multiple books.
Just finished Blindspot by B. A. Rothney. Wow what a great read! This author is new to me and I’m absolutely blown away. It’s the perfect mix of spy thriller + romance with just enough spice to keep things interesting.
The enemies-to-lovers dynamic was so much fun, and the main characters were incredibly lovable. I found myself rooting for Dimitri right from the start! I also really appreciated that it wasn’t just about the romance; there was so much detail about their spy work, missions, and that Florida assignment had me hooked.
One of my favorite quotes from the book: ✨ “You promised me that you’ll follow me anywhere. I promise that I’ll never go far. You’re stuck with me now.”
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of the second book, Scorn, and I honestly can’t wait to pick up where this one left off and continue their story.
Jackie was a great FMC that made me want to keep reading her story. She's on the thicker side which was refreshing to read about for a change. The spice level is 🌶🌶🌶but still a great plot that doesn't just revolve around spicy scenes. The slow build and tension between her and the MMC Dimitri was amazing and made me excited for a book two. Dimitri was the guy who can't accept that she doesn't want him and never gives up, but he definitely grew on me and had me rooting for their relationship to work out in the end.
The side characters are nice but like a game of thrones episode--don't fall in love with anyone because they are probably going to die...I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily

This story was packed with action of all kinds ! I was hooked from the start. This was my first ever spy romance and I loved it ! I knew from the moment Dimitri came into the picture that he was going to be our guy. The banter between Dimitri and Jackie made me chuckle 🤭. She was trying to deny him but we all know she wanted him. This story is also in a third person POV so if you are not a big fan of those just a little heads up.
What a read! The perfect spy romance with a just enough spice! A fun storyline, from enemies to lovers, the main character were lovable and I caught myself rooting for Demetri from the beginning. The writing style made it a little hard to follow at times, with some flash backs to get the characters different POV on certain situations but not too hard that I couldn't understand what was going on! I am so excited to see what book 2 has in store for us (and hoping that we get to read more about Jackie and Demetri and what happens next)!

Jackie goes to college, cheers and works multiple jobs to get by, when she runs into the same strange man multiple times, her life changes forever. That's just the beginning of the book! Jackie is a strong, empowered FMC who I absolutely love. I felt like I took a journey with her through both the worst and best times of her life. I found myself crying more than once, yelling out loud and first pumping throughout this book. At the heart of it all is a woman who can take care of herself but deserves to love and be loved. FYI... I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. I would have bought it regardless!
this book was so, so good! i absolutely loved the spy romance vibes and that it didn’t just focus on the romance but also explored and dove deep into jackie and demitri’s jobs.
jackie, our fmc, also a plus sized girlie (love the representation!!!), was a total and complete badass from start to finish!!! i absolutely loved seeing her relationship develop with demitri and the banter and spice between them was ✨chef’s kiss✨
i highly recommend this novel, and i absolutely cannot wait until book 2 comes out!!!

I was so invested in Jackie and Dimitri's lives that I felt all of their emotions with them. The pain, the grief, the hate, the anxiety, the fear, the love. This book is the perfect combination of romance and suspense with a touch of spicyness, each piece just fits together so perfectly.
Once I started reading I just couldn't stop!
This book gripped me in ways I cannot even explain in words.
If I say anything else in this review, it's going to be spoilers, so I'm just going to say - Go read it!!
After a brutal coup, Jackie loses her father figure and now has to work with Theo Clark and Dimitri Fraser, the two agents who pulled off the coup. Dimitri has been ordered to find out Jackie’s secrets but the only thing he’s interested in is sleeping with her. However, he finds himself falling for her as they get closer, but this could put both of them in danger. I really enjoyed this read and finished it in one sitting. Jackie was a complete badass and I loved seeing her relationship develop with Dimitri. The banter and spice between them was *chefs kiss*
So, you get a spy romance, a mid-size FMC, rivals to lovers, and a bi FMC? So, I ran to read this one the minute I got the ARC for book two. The spice in this one was amazing. The he falls first trope was done perfectly. I love how strong, independent, and resilient Jackie was. Dimitri is such a fun, flirtatious, and yet slightly vulnerable MMC. Seriously though, please tell me how we can make me so invested in a character that when they die in the beginning of the book I'm moved to tears. I've already started book two. I simply can't wait.
Blindspot is a fast pace spy/workplace rivals spicy romance. This Jackie and Dimitri’s story and I love the way they had to work together and the tension!! Jackie is such a strong character and I love her take no prisoners attitude. Dimitri is a suave guy with a touch her and die vibes that just makes them perfect for each other. I love how the whole story takes you through the spy world and makes you sit at the edge of your seat. I also love the way they protect each other and look out for one another. I really enjoyed their story and can’t wait to read more!
This was so good. The captivating plot had me hooked instantly. I love how strong and independent Jackie was. That she took control of her life, stood up for herself, never apologized for who she was. I was unsure on Dimitri at first, but the longer I read, the more I fell for him like Jackie had. There were moments he was an utter ass, but then he'd apologize and make up for it, and he got better and better as the book went on. I hated Theo with a passion and was thrilled with his ending.
I loved this book so much! The enemies to lovers trope, the development of the relationship between Jackie and Dimitri was amazing. The spice through the book added to the plot and didn't take away from the story. If you like a badass FMC and a spy agency romance this is the book for you!

I really enjoyed this book and the fact the FMC was a genuine independent bada$$ that could handle herself. The spice was spicy, the plot was great, I cried, I laughed and I love when the baddie gets their comeuppance!
Would love a second book with Talia because I loved her as a side character and friend and would really like to see her have a HEA
This was my first spy book in a while and I liked that it was in Canada vs the US or UK like most of the other ones I’ve read. It has both a realistic plot line for spies along with spice. I really loved reading Jackie and Dimitri on their journey and growth. I found myself turning page by page to see what would happen next. Looking forward to the next installment.
If you loved Alias and need a spy dark romance this is for you!
Did you ever watch Alias? If you loved it then this series is for you! I loved that Jaclyn has so much attitude and even with it's dark themes Dimitri is a huge GREEN FLAG. The sexual tension is so good and the espionage subplot had me hooked from the start. Cannot wait to see what happens next!
A little confusing to follow but it was a good read. It's also kind of sad to where you will need a tissue but not completely fall apart type cry. It was good.I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Really fun read. I really enjoyed the pacing, how the relationship evolved, their conversations and banter and how the plot unfolded. I honestly thought she was going to go in a different direction with Theo’s character. Overall a fun read and I look forward to book 2!
✨ARC read for honest review✨ The writing style was a little hard for me to get into, but the book itself was good. Loved Jackie and Dimitri🫶 🌶️🌶️🌶️😮💨🥵
