Discipline. Restraint. Control.

Tomlin has been hiding his true nature his entire life, but cracks are beginning to show in his perfect facade. And then he meets a beautiful, intelligent female who could destroy all his barriers. He should run but he needs her help... he needs her.

Etta is too thin and too plain to interest most men, and that suits her just fine. Her scientific studies are far more interesting. She is sure that the stranger who appears at her remote lab is more than he seems to be, and she’d determined to solve the puzzle he presents.

But the more she uncovers, the more intrigued she becomes. He is rapidly becoming much more to her than an experiment, but the secrets he conceals could change everything...

This book is set in the How the Aliens Were Won universe and may be read as a complete standalone. This sweet and steamy series is intended for mature readers

As the final book to this series that I've genuinely enjoyed from start to finish (and not to mention the worldbuilding from the Seven Brides for Seven Alien Brothers series), I did like this final book as well. It focuses on Tomlin who, although the least alien-looking out of all the heroes we've encountered so far, was an intriguing enough character in his own right from previous books to deserve his own story.

The story itself, for what it is, is sweet. I mean, nothing groundbreaking or unexpected happens, but it's just sort of a short, sweet story that fits in perfectly into this world. A definite re-read one day, but...well, what else can I say? I liked it just fine, and so a thumbs up overall.

Great story , although I do wish Tomlin's background was explained more.

As Always another amazing story from the woods if Wainwright , Creseca !!!
S' Kal's assistant / all around guy who can get what he needs guy, Tomlin gets his story told .
Tomlin is a guy who is proficient , especially in organization. He has helped S' Kal's in his caravan business, anticipating needs before they arise. Now he is a help to Commander Temel as a set of farm manager , and is on a quest to obliterate the threat to his new family of sorts, by taken care of Marshall Thompson once and for all. Tying up loose ends brings him to Wainwright. A scientist there is studying the morchev crystals. That Must cease.
Dr Ella is fascinated by these morchev crystals. Absolutely fascinated . A knock on her door brings a huge man there , who tells her some tales of these gems. And being a scientist , Ella is enthralled.
Isn't that a great beginning ??
As this a great beginning ??
As Ella and Tomlin get to know each other better , many threats loom on the horizon. Will they be able to conquer them together, or will Tomlin 's secrets threaten this budding relationship ???
Although his nature is revealed , I still don't know exactly what he is, and I do wish that was explained more. But , an enjoyable book nonetheless.

4\12 terrific 🌟's for Tomlin🔥🌟💖

What a terrific ending to this arc of the series! Tomlin became a character of interest when he burst in on the scene in S'kall's book. You just knew there was so much more to this character that what was being seen. I was thrilled to find out he was going too have his own story and just as I thought he was a dangerous and sexy as all the other warriors in this series. Etta is a scholar who has lead a life of academic research it has a been her solace. Her parents died when she was young her guardian treated her well but was not a loving parent. So learning became her life. Etta is doing research on a stone and it properties in a remote area and that is where Tomlin finds her. Tomlin has keeps many secrets about who he is and how important it is to keep the stone and it's mysteries a secret. He goes in search of the last person who may cause trouble when he finds Etta its not the stone or the research that's the problem. Etta turns out to be his mate a mate he never thought to find one that strips his control. Control he needs to stay grounded. Etta and Tomlin become close but danger lurks in the shadows. Can their new found love save them both?! You need to read and find out! This was an excellent story with great characters that have substance and chemistry! Highly recommend!💖🌟🔥💖🌟🔥💖🌟🔥💖

Mysterious, rigidly controlled Tomlin is up and his special someone is a scientist more comfortable in a lab than being around others. Which actually works out nicely because Tomlin's not a big fan of being surrounded by people either.

Working on cleaning up the plot by Constance's father to build a weapon that could hurt many, Tomlin is already skating on the edge of his control. Following up on research on the gems that were going to used for the weapon, Tomlin finds an intense women with an insatiable mind instead of the staid male research doctor he was expecting. Let's just say that he's shocked by his response to her and has to go on some long runs to reinstate that control he's known for.

On Etta's end, she's convinced herself she's happier on her own, but she's lonely. Tomlin, with his folk stories and penchant for tidying up when things get messy, sparks her interest. The fact he's not entirely human doesn't bother her. Neither does his rather intense responses to her whenever things start to heat up.

Found family, experiments, a little danger, a man trying to find his place, and a lady who knows when someone special walks through her door. *thumbs up*

Tomlin is the 8th (and sadly) the final book in the How the Aliens Were Won Series by Honey Phillips.

This book and this series have been an absolute delight.  I haven't been reading Aliens romance for very long. One day on a whim, I stumbled on one of these and decided to read one as a “palate cleanser” after a heavy dark book, and I loved it! I have been hooked ever since, and Honey Phillips is my go-to author for them.

By now, in the series, we are all curious about the mysterious Tomlin. What is he, where did he come from, and where is he headed at the end of the last book? Well, rest assured, all of those questions and more will be answered in this book. There is also adventure, spiciness and of course a HEA. If you have not read any of the previous books in this series, I do recommend you start at the beginning and read the series in order. This will ensure you get the most from each book. I am already looking forward to the spin-off series featuring the Vultori.

ARC was provided by Booksprout, and this is my honest review.

Tomlin has been such a mystery the entire series. NOW we get his story and I was so intrigued right from the beginning of this book! Tomlin passes as human, but he's so much more. I don't want to spoil that, but it will come out. Just know that Tomlin is everything you have been hoping for and more. He goes to check out Etta because she is researching the morchev and he has concerns. Etta's character is VERY scientific. She is insanely smart. Both our main characters bond over growing up kind of abandoned. They both have their walls up and reveal secrets slowly over the course of the story. This story is spicy! With the amount of spice, Tomlin earns more spice ratings than the rest of the series. You will be turning the pages and we get see our old friends from the farm! Love them! And Honey peeps a new story coming. :) All in all a fun read! 4 stars, 4 spice emojis!

The wait for Tomlin’s story was so worth it! Honey truly did Tomlin justice, especially since she never intended to tell his story. Tomlin is pure deliciousness! He is everything hinted at in previous books and more. I see why Honey was unable to deny him his moment in the spotlight. Tomlin is too complex a character to deny. There were so many points in this story where I had an a-ha moment. Tomlin’s behavior and actions in previous books suddenly made more sense. Etta and Tomlin together are magic! Talk about steamy! Their attraction jumped off the page. This story was so satisfying, I didn’t want it to end! This book brought closure to this series about a group of wounded military survivors and their mates, though, and it gave us a glimpse of the next series on Cresca. I am eagerly awaiting that series!

"He hadn’t experienced this level of awareness in many years."

Tomlin has been the trusted right hand man who keeps life running smoothly for others in previous stories, but here he moves center stage and we get a chance to discover what fuels that need to organize and control what he can.

Etta is a scientist with an inquisitive mind, but is she seeking answers for the good guys, or anyone paying the right price?

This done in one kindle unlimited book stands solidly on its own and tells a nice story about those who have spent a lot of life on their own finding those who understand them and help them feel both at ease and that they belong. There is a really nice scene that differentiates between pity and empathy beautifully and is a reminder of the power that can come from putting yourself in someone else's shoes.

I finally get to see who and what Tomlin was. From previous stories he is precise and disciplined. But we see a different side of him as he discovers who Etta really is to him. We also get to see some of his past and how that affected him.
I loved Etta and her experiments, not just with the gems she is doing research on , but with Tomlin. They were very creative. She is very intelligent and curious.
Just when you think things would work out for them, a new threat comes along.
Well written, steam to the eventual romance. I love the suspense. And of course as with all of the couples from this series the perfect HEA.

loved this series

I enjoyed this series. The characters are so much fun. You need to read the books in order they were written to understand the full story. It is modeled after the play/movie seven brides for seven brothers. It is such a fun plot. You can almost see the characters acting like the ones seen in the movie, with variations of course. The aliens in these books are basically war veterans and simply want a better life. They want a spouse and home as well. Some of the scenes are so very funny you’ll enjoy each book. I believe this one on Tomlinson is the last of the set but I’m hoping for more. This group is family oriented and a lovely more loving group you’ll never meet.

A delightful love story!
At last, we learn more about Tomlin, who isn’t exactly as he appears to be. I get a real kick out of seeing him struggle with his feelings for Etta. It’s a good thing she’s a scientist: she’s able to prove he’s not a danger to her. Plus, the proving is an adventure in itself. I love her! She’s not one to put up with any nonsense. I’m intrigued by the gemstones Etta is studying and their possible uses, and by a couple of new characters introduced. Will we be seeing more of them? Do read! It’s a delightful love story; I know you’ll love their journey and its completion.

Tomlin finally is able to tell his story and it is an amazing slow burn romance. While finishing up a last lead to the problem he's been working on to protect his found family, the trail leads to Etta. A scientist, his little scholar, his mate. He's hidden his other side from everyone so finding her is dangerous, for her.
Etta has built her lab in the boonies so she is able to continue her research without interruption or distraction. That worked fine until that knock on her door.
A wonderfully sweet love story with just the right plot twists, danger, new friends and spice to make it work so well. I love a great HEA.

The anticipation was worth the wait. Unfortunately, though, this is the last one in this series.

Tomlin is the one who carried the most mystery with him. His classy, formal persona kept us in suspense. The weight of the world he carried on his shoulders finally comes to an end. With the help of a human female, his very reason for being is about to unfold.

Honey has created many wonderful characters, and along the way, we have loved each and every one, but Temlin was an added bonus, he wrapped up this amazing series with an astonishing, heartfelt, and emotional finale.

Tomlin alien, looks very much like a human. His psychic abilities keeps him at arms length to must people. Etta, human, is a research scientist. She a a rock material she's researching that could put Tomlin and his kind in jeopardy. Both Tomlin and Etta have a hard and lonely path. They'll have to over come prejudices, past hurts and present dangers to find their happily ever after.
Wonderful characters, steamy, drama, action, adventure, danger, entertaining, fated mates, steamy, and HEA. I couldn't put the book down!.

First, thank you, Honey, for writing Tomlin's story! It is so good and the perfect addition to the How The Aliens Were Won series. Tomlin and Etta are two lonely souls who need that special person in their lives. When a story grabs you right in the heart from the first page, it is a re-readable book. Tomlin realizes from the first time he meets Etta that she is his mate. It doesn't take very long for Etta to learn it, either. It made me so happy to read the ending to their story. No spoilers! You will not be disappointed.

I’ve been really curious to read Tomlin’s story. He’s been this enigmatic figure for several books now and it was clear his buttoned up proper in control routine was a front. I didn’t necessarily expect an origin story of being half human with his alien side being a very aggressive and possessive species. I really really liked Etta. Her logical scientific exploration of his control and fear of hurting her was the only way to get though to him. I think this book does a good job of showing that we might be inclined a certain way naturally but we can curb that behaviour if it doesn’t always serve us. I hope we get lots of camios in the next series.

'This female seemed to have broken through his defenses without even trying.'

I really loved this book. Great world building and wonderful characters. I loved Tomlin and it was a treat to get his story. Etta was a very smart heroine. Cautious and attentive. I liked how they both had walls up and slowly came to open up to each other. I loved Tomlin cooking and cleaning for her. And I liked how- after sharing a meal with him and listening to him tell her stories- she realized she'd been lonely and felt cared for by him. A very sweet romance and I was hooked. Sad that this is the last in the series, but I can't wait to read Big Bad Alien. 5 stars.

4.7⭐️ Alien + Scientist meet their match

Another fun alien romance by Honey Phillips. I really liked the personalities of the MCs & how they played off each other. Tomlin was so concerned about hurting Etta that he was willing to deny himself. Both he & Etta have hurt & baggage, but they were able to help each other work through those. Once they finally gave in to each other, it went from a little steamy to VERY steamy. Honey's world-building is top notch & so detailed that you can see it in your head. The HEA was satisfying. I enjoyed this story.

I am so sad that this is the last How The Aliens Were Won but if it had to end this was the perfect way. I have loved and wondered about Tomlin since his first appearance. Honey told his story wonderfully. Etta is his perfect match. I absolutely adored her from her first appearance too. Tomlin has the perfect balance of action and romance. I felt all of the feels reading this book. As always Honey Phillips has written us some amazing characters who are situated in a story that keeps us reading well passed our bedtime. I loved it!

I was waiting for Tomlin's book ever since he walked onto the page. I liked how closed off his character was and it was obvious that he wasn't human because he was just to... perfect at his job.
I always like to read about the guys that are very serious and reserved and don't seem hot headed.
It was interesting getting to read about his background and life before meeting S'kaal. I just wish the parts with his mate were more developed. It felt rushed to me. It is a pretty short book though, just under 200 pages. I loved this whole series but I wish the books were longer.

Etta always has been focused on her work and her studies. She thinks of herself as too plain and boring to attract male attention so it comes as shock when she meet Tomlin. Multiple shocks really, why is he at her remote lab, what is he hiding? Tomlin has isolated himself all his life, meeting Etta and at first touch finding she is his mate is a gift he never expected to have. How they work together and find their HEA is a typical Honey Phillips book: Fun, spicy and a great read!.

This is such a sweet and steamy romance between a human woman and an alien who are perfect for each other. Etta is a scientist who doesn't truly know the background as to why she is doing research on a special stone and it's properties. Tomlin came to the small and somewhat hidden research facility to take care of a problem because of that special stone but instead found a human female who is his mate. They don't fight the attraction for long but, with the dangers around them, they find trust, family and love.

This is Book 8 of How the Aliens Were Won starring Tomlin and Etta. WOW talk about wild and what an amazing mating for these two. I felt sorry for both characters one does know how to be around humans and the other is brainy and doesn’t fit into society so they make the best couple because they both help the other find balance and happiness and love.

I have to admit, I loved Tomlin's character right from the start. The mystery he presented was intriguing. I could only hope his story was equally interesting. I wasn't disappointed. Etta and Tomlin's tale was a juicy hot slow burn that I couldn't put down. The story was engaging and kept me riveted to the last paragraph.

This was a wonderfully sweet romance and a fab finale for the series. There was a great mix of drama, danger, twists, action, adventure and steam to make it a page turner. I love that two lonely souls, Tomlin and Etta, realized they were fated mates and that they got the happy ending they both deserved. This one hit the heart just right and it's definitely getting a good spot on my re-read shelf. I can't wait for what's next by this author :D

Blegh. Preachy.

Plus I hate that she had to pursue him even though they were mates.
I was also just pretty poorly written. The characters were 2 dimensional and boring and the plot was non existent.

Monster (half human half alien warrior). Virgin MMC. Scientist FMC. No plot. Meandering. Fluff. Big cock. Push and pull. Fated mates. Epilogue 3 years later with a son. No OMD/OWD. No cheating. No breakup.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
