There’s a lesson to be Never judge Anson by your first meeting.

I ordered this ebook from K.G.'s website. I have always loved Anson's character, but after reading his backstory, it gave me more respect for him overall. It showed more depth to what he went through and explained more of how he came to be who he is. Be sure to read TW and BFH series before this to avoid spoilers. Will get the best experience if you have read the other chaosverse from all characters first to understand who is who and the impact they currently have on circumstances. It also gives you some crumbs and what I hope is foresight into what's to come. 😉 Highly recommend reading Anson's story. ❤️
If you haven't liked him before and still don't after this, I honestly don't think you ever will.

I have a strong love/hate relationship with Anson, but i lean a lot more on the love side of things.

this is a quick novella that shows us how Anson got the nickname Archangel and how both him and Trent got to where they are today in both Mayfair and Kings of Bolton.

I recommend reading this after Black Falls High, anywhere between Mayfair and Kings of Bolton. KG Reuss will be releasing an updated reading order with the latest add-on books.

I knew I liked Anson but I really LOVE him now. Having his backstory definitely helped understand his reclusive behavior, it also shows the loyalty he has towards those he cares about.

Yall I hated Anson so much in the beginning of Mayfair, but god damn this man is growing on me!!! Especially after Into The Fire and especially after this. Just to be able to actually see his motivations and his evolution with Everett, it’s just so much information I wanted and needed. Cole and Enzo better watch about bc my love/hate relationship with Anson is drastically turning to solely love….. Back to this book, I also love how we got the musical from his perspective. This was morning short of perfection.

Marking this as read twice as a placeholder for Drake’s short story “into the rain” as it’s not on GR yet.

The Archangel by K.G. Reuss gives us such an emotionally charged, in-depth look into Anson's life. He was already one of my absolute favorite characters, but after reading this novella, getting his backstory, I love him even more.

Anson’s backstory gave us such an intrinsic view of his character, from his up-bringing to the turmoil and trauma he endured, which played such a prodigious role in shaping him into the man he grew to be. He became a hardened version of the person he'd been, but, after reading this novella, you understand that hardened exterior was a necessary evil to not only solely shoulder the weight of caring for himself and his younger brother, Trent, but to also survive the unexpected, heartbreaking shift in his and Trent's lives and all that came with that and to fulfill the promise of finding those responsible for his and Trent's losses.

We also learn how Anson met Alice and Everett, and though you learn some very dark truths involving the pair in regards to Anson, unfortunately, without knowing them, he'd not have had the necessary tools needed to become the Archangel without their involvement.

This was such a gripping, emotional read packed with action, drama, heartbreak, loss, family bonds, twists and turns and truths revealed. The Archangel not only answers some questions in correlation to Anson, it pulls at your heartstrings and opens the door to understanding Anson's character so much more. Queen, once again, rocked the socks off this and delivered another brilliant ChaosVerse read!

**The Archangel** by K.G. Reuss may be a novella, but it packs an emotional punch.

Getting Anson’s backstory added so much depth to a character I already side-eyed in previous series. His upbringing, the weight of responsibility, and the trauma that shaped him made his hardened exterior finally make sense. There’s definitely a lesson here about **never judging Anson by your first meeting**.

I loved finally seeing where his rage, loyalty, and obsession with control stem from—and I appreciated how this story connects threads across the universe. It feels essential if you’re invested in these interconnected worlds.

That said… now I have QUESTIONS.
What really happened to Alice?
How did Anson come to the conclusion that Rosalie is tied to his mom and sister’s deaths?
And when do I get MORE answers?!

Short, gripping, and emotionally loaded—this novella left me satisfied with the backstory but absolutely **yearning for more**. Which, honestly, is very on brand for this author. 😮‍💨🖤

Perfect for fans of dark, interconnected romance who love peeling back layers of morally gray characters.

Introduced at the end of the Black Falls High series, Anson Beyers has became a prominent feature in the Mayfair series. Antagonizing the horseman, with his own flirting with Rosalie, I wasn't sure he was someone I could get on board with. For the first time, we're given a novella deep dive into his backstory, and finding out more about this elusive man, and what makes him the Archangel. It's heartbreaking, and immediately you feel for him and his brother Trent (who also appears in other books). The line that gave me pause, and may be where we're headed, "When we become the bad guys, I promise we'll leave". Foreshadowing what's to come? I would not put it past the cliffy queen. I am firmly team Ani and cannot wait to see what happens next. An amazing must read companion novella!

This was super good but it made me so mad. I feel so bad for Anson. He didn’t deserve the crap he went through. I just want to give him a big hug 😭. I’m so mad that he was fooled into working for Everett freaking Church. I already knew that he had but that doesn’t make it any better. I can’t wait for the next Mayfair book to see more of him. He needs to be added to Rosalie’s harem immediately!! I actually think I love him more than any of her guys. It doesn’t help their case that all they’ve done is make me mad in the Mayfair books. Besides that though, Anson deserves happiness and him and Rosalie would be so cute. I really loved this little Anson prequel.

The Archangel is a fantastic short story in the Chaos Universe that provides us with the background story of Anson Beyers and how he became the person he is. Please check the trigger warnings before reading. I would also highly suggest reading Black Falls High series before reading The Archangel to avoid spoilers. My heart breaks for everything Anson went through and what he had to do to survive. This book helps you better understand Anson and some of his actions. Absolutely loved this look into Anson’s past and can’t wait to see what is in store for him.

This was a great look into where it all began for Anson and gives him other layers. I didn’t do the recommended reading order, mainly bc I didn’t know when I started, and I am ok with it. You don’t feel starting at any place bc you get to fill in the pieces and see how and where everything fits as you dive deeper into the Wild Wild universe
