काशी का नाम तो सुना होगा, ये नाम नहीं सुना तो बनारस या वाराणसी तो सुना ही होगा यह सब एक ही जगह के नाम है। ऐसा कहाजाता है ये नगरी स्वयं महादेव ने बसायी है और ये उनके त्रिशूल पर टिकी हुयी है यही कारण है कि जब कभी भविष्य में पूरी सृष्टि प्रलय के प्रहार को सह रही होगी तब भी काशी ऐसी ही स्थिर, दृढ़ और चिरकाल तक वैसी ही बनी रहेगी जैसी आज है, प्रलय से बिल्कुल अछूती।

For those who have not visited or lived in Kashi. You can visit a city as a tourist or traveller, but you will never experience it as a resident does.
However, as far as reasons to travel are considered, visiting for religious reasons is as good as any.It should be treated as the 8th wonder how a such a holy city can have such a crook civilisation. Then I remembered that Shiv ji is surrounded by a bunch of ghouls and ghosts only. Quite apt for its citizemry.
