What happens when you fall for the sworn enemies of your family?
I’m kidnapped by the Tailors, a rival gang that wants my entire family wiped off the face of the earth. After spending a couple of weeks experiencing hospitality in the Tailor’s very own dungeon, I’m really regretting my life choices up to this point.
Then in walks a tall stranger, with bright hazel eyes, and something in me stirs, growing stronger as I meet each of the Tailor boys.
Aeron, the heir to the Tailor name and a dark devil.
Jude, second in line and mad as a box of frogs but sexy as f*ck.
Knox, tall glass of water with the need to rescue and protect.
Tarl, the Tailor Inquisitor with mismatched eyes, but a healer at heart.
I don’t stand a chance against their soothing touches and possessive affections. We fall hard and fast, but like most dreams, eventually you have to wake up.
I just hope that they can forgive me for what I’m about to do.
Addicted to the Pain is the first book in a dark contemporary whychoose romance, where love is love and our girl (and guys) end up with more than one love interest. Swords will cross.
Be warned, love hurts.

Rosa Lee lives in a sleepy Wiltshire village, surrounded by the beautiful English countryside and the sound of British Army tanks firing in the background (it’s worth the noise for the uniformed dads in the local supermarket and doing the school run!).
Rosa loves writing dark and delicious whychoose romance, and has so many ideas trying to burst out that she can often be found making a note of them as soon as one of her three womb monsters wakes her up. She believes in silver linings and fairytale endings...you know, where the villains claim the Princess for their own, tying her up and destroying the world for her.

Maybe I have stronger limits. Or maybe I just don’t want to play ‘guess whether this is a joke or going to turn into INCEST’ while reading……..I’m honestly surprised more people aren’t mentioning the weird incest vibe running through this. I get that one brother was constantly baiting the other, but why pick those comments to do it? They’re so f**king weird. If you want a reaction, say literally anything else.
I know the character was supposed to be unhinged, and I assume that’s what the author was going for, but there are surely other ways to show this.
When the weird comments weren’t happening, the characters could be likeable. The FMC was a little deranged and the MMCs are possessive, but in a protective way. Honestly, this had the potential to be really great.
I did struggle with the nicknames, but that’s on me. Sorry, I just can’t work with ‘daddy,’ it’s too mainstream to banish, but I wish I could. “Big boy” was tolerable, though still not as good as the actually cute nicknames they gave her.
I actually got to 68%…they go to the races…and it got so much worse. So they are in a private box next to her dad and brother. Sidenote: she hated her dad and loved her brother in a non-incest way, always important to define. And somehow, to prove her dad didn’t own her, she started having SEX IN FRONT OF BOTH of them. I don’t understand why everything had to go to such weird places. It was time to leave. I have no idea where this book was going, but I wouldn't put it past them to sneak in more incest. Nope.
My weirdest mafia book to date! I just skimmed more reviews and someone actually listed all the incest comments. Good to know I’m not losing my mind. Found the review ! It’s here
Update (2026) – this popped up on my feed the other day, as someone rated it 5-stars and I figured a reread was in order. Maybe I was too harsh… turns out I was not. Vee, don’t try this again. Put the book down and walk away.
I swear I have opened and closed more books this week and I’m tired of it! I guess I’m in the minority because it seems lots of people like it. Maybe my mood is off and that’s why I can’t find anything and why I can’t get past the absurdity. Normally I would look over things and go with it because it’s fiction. Fiction!!!! It’s not real and can be ridiculous. But I think I reached my limit.
Okay this book is ridiculous 🤦🏽♀️
Home girl has been in a basement being tortured. It doesn’t say how long it’s been since we start out in chapter 1 with her in there. She talks about how her fingernails have been pulled off, her back is full of deep cuts that keep bleeding. She has to piss in a bucket and she’s nasty! BUT…. Here she is talking about how she hopes she doesn’t lose subscribers to her Only Fans and even though she’s lost weight her tits still look good 🤦🏽♀️😒 Her original captives have given her to the mmc’s. And one comes in the basement (she’s just laid eyes on him) and what happens she jumps him and they have sex. Because she talked about how horny she was. When they get done she gets the handkerchief off the other mmc who just walks in and wipes the cum off her and puts it back in his shirt and says this is for later 🥴 This is in the first chapter And that’s all I know because if the first chapter is ridiculous I’m sure the rest is as well.
What lengths would you go to protect the ones you love? Would you endure torture at the hands of depraved criminals? Would you surrender your body and soul to the enemy? Would you betray those who mend your broken pieces?
Addicted to the Pain was my first full-length read from author Rosa Lee, and I honestly don’t know why I’ve waited so long to pick up one of her novels. After reading the blurb of this dark contemporary romance, I felt like it was written for me. And now that I’ve turned the final page, I’m thoroughly wrecked. WRECKED, ROSA.
Let’s set the stage: Two warring crime families, the Tailors and the Dead Soldiers, operate in the shadows in small-town Colorado. They couldn’t be more different, except for their desire to inflict as much pain as possible on each other with no regard for collateral damage.
The story beings with Lark, the Soldier’s Darling, recounting the injuries she’s collected while being held and tortured by her sworn enemies. Because the physically violent approach isn’t bearing fruit, the Tailors take a different approach to wring out some information. Cue Aeron, Jude, Knox, and Tarl, four men who are as devastatingly beautiful as they are dangerous. What they don’t know is Lark seems to have ulterior motives of her own.
I. LOVE. LARK. She’s a woman who has had nothing but the worst of what humanity has to offer thrown at her for decades, yet still finds a way to seek the light at the end of the tunnel. She’s a fiery, quick-witted ginger that knows what she wants, and will stop at nothing to achieve it. The pain she endures, both physically and emotionally, is enough to break even the most resolute, but instead she bends, weaving her way to a brighter future.
The Tailor boys? Each has their own unique voice, whether that be a buttoned-up control freak, a Disney-loving unhinged lunatic, a bear of a man with a heart of gold and fists of steel, or an inquisitor who heals as much as he hurts. All damaged beyond repair, and I adored them. I won’t say more, you need to meet them yourself. I’m hoping we learn more about their backstories in the next installment.
You want filthy smutty goodness? You get that in spades between these covers. I mean, what do you expect with a hyper sexual woman and four insatiable men? The steam begins early…and it never lets up. You get all the fixins of an MMFMM #whychoose romance, and yes, there's ⚔️.
It seems 2023 is the year for exceedingly good books, this one quickly earning its place on my list of favorites. The ending destroyed me and I’m in dire need of book two. Beautifully written, it’s a stunning exploration of found family and enduring the darkness. Twisted, disturbing, obscene, this book was everything I needed and more. Loved it.
i just... dont understand. GIRL U JUST BEEN KIDNAPPED AND TORTUTERED BUT ITS OKAY BECAUSE NOW THEY ARE HOT???? U HAVE A LIFELONG HISTORY OF TRAUMA BUT NOW ITS OKAY???? WHY DOES SHE KEEP FLEXING HER ONLYFANS??? i am baffled
I cannot read anything with the use of daddy. I get hives, I tried and skimmed alot. It went fast, no slowburn they get obsessed with her directly. I am so tired of authors who make the Fmc pussy weep and clench at the first sight of a guy. Girl you’re in a fkn basement and have been tortured, a guy comes down who you don’t know, who might be there to torture you and you ogle his body and let him fuck you? I mean I understand the trauma from being raped from a young age under your fathers orders. But cmon. And who the he’ll just have orgasms that easy?
I am sick of reading books, even dark romances where they’re all directly jump on the bones and their pussy lead the way and control their whole fkn life. No can do. I did enjoy that there was some mm aswell in the book.
The content warning at the beginning is a good start, but it really could and should be more.
In the ebook: There are many subjects explored some readers may find disturbing, such as sexual assault, dub-con, child neglect and abuse (physical, mental and sexual), torture to name a few. There are also a lot of graphic sex scenes, featuring kinks such as BDSM, breath play, blood play etc. Please, if you find any of these things triggering, turn back now! For a full list of triggers please visit https://www.rosaleeauthor.com/trigger...
On her website (which I fucking hate. Don’t make readers do extra work to find the freaking content warnings list): Possible triggers in the series include, but are not limited to: Self harm; sexual and physical assault; attempted rape; childhood sexual assault; graphic torture; child abuse and neglect; manipulation and narcissistic behaviour; drug addiction; mental health issues; violence from the harem to the MFC (to avoid a worse fate for her); blood play; air play; BDSM and kink scenes; graphic sex scenes.
There’s nothing listed here about the incest, and yes, while it isn’t full on brother-fucking-brother, multiple propositions from one to the other, and the same one intentionally licking up the other’s cum, certainly counts. It’s just not Jude and Aeron, either. Lark making eye contact with her father when she comes? And then even just the hint that her brother may also want her? Yeah no. That needs a content warning lmfao.
I also personally think the specific kinks should be listed more than just blood and breath play, as “kink scenes” is really fucking broad. Are we talking about watersports or a little slap and tickle? For those of you wondering, Knox has got a breeding kink; all the boys like to hunt her (really mild primal); and there’s slight master/slave, Dom/sub, and DDlg dynamic influence.
Aside from that, there are a number of technical issues with the writing. I do not understand how any professional editor would miss this many run-on sentences*. You cannot combine two independent clauses with just a comma. There must be a coordinating conjunction, or a semicolon when appropriate. This is basic grammar. Additionally, there’s a double negative that completely changes the meaning of the sentence**. I fully understand that most writers can’t edit their own work, but when a supposed professional is being paid to edit, it should be done correctly. A mistake here or there is to be expected. I’m not demanding perfection. However, dozens of run-ons is far beyond a reasonable number of mistakes, and if I was the author or publisher, I’d be asking for a refund.
* “We leave our Little Bird to have another shower, Jude didn’t exactly clean her up.” This is one example of a run-on. Instead of the comma alone, it should be a comma with a relevant conjunction such as ‘since’, a period, or a semicolon.
** “It's why father gave her to me when it became apparent neither he nor his men couldn't crack her.” The double negative is created by neither/nor with couldn’t. This would mean then that both his father and his men COULD “crack her”; none of them were unable to. Their inability to force her to answer their questions is a major plot point, so you would think this is something an editor would get right.
If you like abuse, r/ape, incest, torture, zero build up and complete switches in character's personalities, this is great for you!
Call me crazy, but my first response to a man coming into my cell after I've been tortured for weeks isn't to fvck him against the wall while my INFECTED back wounds bleed all over the place. Let's also just ignore the love interests physically beating her and water boarding her. Soooooo attractive! This isn't even a dark romance, it's a snuff fantasy. Adding to the physical and mental torture they put her thru, they also killed her mom, who was her best friend and kept her safe from her abusive father. Her response to this? To crawl into her mother's murderer's lap and then have sex with all of them, which was also 3 days after they beat and water boarded her. She's not "sassy and brave," she's a doormat that's fvcking her abusers and her mother's killers. I honestly don't have words for how awful this was. Even if I could look past the abuse, rape, and INCEST, I can't get over how badly written it is and how unbelievable and cringy the characters are. You can't convince me a teenager in need of therapy didn't write this.

This story had me captivated! The beginning admittedly had me feeling a little lost and sort of made me feel like I was dropped into an ongoing story. But as I read on I was easily immersed in the characters lives and their pain. I never knew what would happen next and I was holding my breathe from page to page just waiting to see just how far the boundaries would be pushed. So glad I picked this one up.
This book is very rough with violence, so if not your jam or trigger do not pick up, but if you can power through it’s just one pf those books that leaves you in sobs. Family or love? Trust or protect yourself? I love Rosa Lee’s books because while verrrrrry naughty it’s like she pulls the darkest thoughts we have in mind and freaking throws it in your face. Ugh I found myself falling in love, knowing heartbreak was coming, sobbing at one point and despair. Ugh just a jumble of emotions.
This books goes from 0-100 in the first few pages. If you’re reading this for the smut, there’s a little bit of everything. Pierced 🍆, BDSM, primal play, blood play, DP, anal, vaguely incestuous encounters, bi awakening, calling him Daddy, and probably more that I’m forgetting.
If you’re reading this for the plot, you might be a little disappointed. You have the classic rival gang situation, torture and kidnap, traumatic back stories galore (*gasp* my mom?!), and alpha possessive MMCs. It’s basically insta-love and -lust between all of them. There’s a lot of scenes that don’t really do anything for the plot. Character development of the MMCs is a little weak but they have pierced dicks and they’re gang members so that’s all you really need to know
This was my first book by Rosa and my my my it was exquisite! Rosa’s writing flows beautifully along the pages that makes the story so immersive and addictive!
This book did not disappoint on the spice , it definitely gets you hot under the collar. Lark is an incredible FMC , she’s strong yet broken , feisty yet tormented by her horrendous past. She had me laughing in places but in others I wanted to wrap her up and shield her from the world.
The Tailor Boys, well who wouldn’t want these dark , domineering men after you , each one had their own depths and heartaches of their own. But I will admit I love Jude he was just the perfect amount of psychotic and unhinged for me.
That ending! My heart my in my mouth, I need book 2 asap!
This has a lot of elements of a fun story but there was like a few to many things that just took me out of the story to where I was like nawww.
1, the names of these alleged gangs
“Because we are the motherfucking Tailors, and no one touches or hurts, what belongs to us.” I’m left speechless as he presses a light kiss to my lips, and then cool air hits me once more as his body heat no longer reaches me. His steps sound across the floor, followed by his light tread up the stairs.”
Imma just quote what I commented when I first read it “This is such a dumb name I’m sorry like all I can think of is them like being a dry cleaners” like I just can’t take it seriously why am I scared of a gang who sounds like they specialize in hemming my jeans. And the other gang is called the dead soldiers which is marginally better but like still ru zombies and they shorten themselves to just being the soldiers which like come on..l
the continuous Mentions of incest “You could always help me out here, bro,” I suggest, looking up at him with a tilt of my lips to see what he makes of my baiting. His upper lip curls and I let loose a chuckle. “I’m not into that incest shit, Jude,” he sneers. ”
Why is this phrased as like a, oh yo I’m not into that shit bro as if he’s talking abt like being into a sports team or smthg like huhhh, idk call me a kink shamer but that shit is weirdddd watch as he undoes my belt, the sound of the metal clasp loud in the quiet room. “For fuck’s sake! Can you not fuck in the living room?” Aeron spits out, and I lift my gaze to lock on his eyes, so similar yet so different from his brother's. “He's not fucking me, just choking on my dick a little,” I reply, my voice groaning at the end as Jude makes a truth of my words and swallows me whole in one go proving that he is indeed a pro. I hold his older brother's stare with hooded eyes as Jude goes to town on my cock, paying close attention to the Prince Albert piercing at the tip. My hand tangles in Jude's midnight hair, holding him in place as I bury my shaft to the hilt down his throat. He relaxes like the psycho that he is as I continue to cut off his air supply, still staring into Aeron's eyes. There's anger in their blue depths. There's always a banked rage, but I can see heat there too. Dirty bastard is getting horny over his brother giving me a blowie. “Jude can do you next, if you like?” I suggest in a breathy voice, feeling my release inch closer at the idea. I never said I wasn't a sick bastard too. Jude's vision must be spotting by now, but I feel his lips lift at my comment. He likes to bait his brother just as much as the rest of us.
Like I must mention how much I hate this “After Jude lapped up his brother’s cum off my face—which shouldn't be as fucking hot as it is—he swatted my ass and told me to get into the shower so that, and I quote, ‘my fine ass would be ready to do some riding of something other than Tailor cock’. Fucking twisted bastard. “
This is just full incest which like just why “for fuck’s sake, Jude!” I glare at him over the top of Dove’s head. Even in the heels, she doesn’t reach beyond my shoulder. “I think that would be pretty hot,” comes a soft voice, and I look down at her, her cheeks blazing now. “You want me to give my brother a hickey?”
Sorry I’ll stop with the quotes but like y’all do not know how much I was like ehh okay this is a kinky book full of like weird scenes and questionable jinks not bad and then we”d get sentences like this to where like ok I’m done.
Overall this book just had way too much incest for 1 but also I don’t rlly enjoy a daddy kink which ofc this book had as well as just 4 dudes tryna compete to be the most fucking weird/kinky like wdym ur gonna fuck her ass with no prep or lube. That shit hurts like huhhhh. Idk this just was not for me at all. Also for some reason it mentions in like literally the first few chapters only that she has an onlyfans but like never brought up again and like why bring it up
This is my first book by Rosa Lee and I'm dnfing it at 35%.
Where to start.... On the positive side - I chose to do the audio book version and the voice actors are stunning! Whoever was in charge of the casting did a phenomenal job.
However, the story just wasn't for me. The story is about a girl being held captive and tortured by our MMCs in order to get intel out of her about her father's mafia gang. The guys find a liking to the girl and decide to torture her in all sorts of sexual ways on top of the actual torture. The smut scale of this is off the charts. The FMC, having experienced a lot of trauma in her past, has turned into a rather deranged version of a woman. So, essentially she's very much into all the nasty, kinky and torturous ways that the MMCs treat her with. Honestly, it was just too much for me and they way she's falling for her captors is just so weird and I couldn't help but feel a little disgusted at times.
For all my girlies that are very much into that very deep sort of darkness - definitely give the audio book a shot.
This book gave me den of vipers vibes and I was THRILLED to have something like that! I’m a sucker for a good dark romance with mafia tropes.
Lark is a tough girl who has endured so much just for her enemies to come into her life and make her feel so much love and safety. Is her betrayal to them going to be forgiven? Idk and I’m hooked. Immediately starting Ruin after this.
Jude gives me diesel vibes and I love the idea of someone being a little unhinged to do anything for their girl.
Aeron is a scary bad ass leader but seeing how his soft spot grows every interaction made my heart sing.
Knox is just. Daddy. Great way to explain him Lark ;)
And Tarl is dreamy af. But I would hate to be on his end of questions.
I wish with every fiber of my being that it could be like this always. Just us against the world. But wishes are like stars. Pretty to look at, yet unreachable. Unattainable. And there are so many stars in our night sky that it sparkles.
A literary masterpiece this was not, but hell if I wasn’t enthralled though. It’s dark, a little far fetched, but the spice is really the shining star.
Lark has been a victim since the day after her 12th birthday. Caged and used; first by her father and his gang, and now by the Tailors who are looking for revenge. While the spice starts pretty quickly and a bit abruptly, it’s very easy to see how these guys- Aeron, Jude, Knox and Tarl are all under her spell. Despite not being able to see an attachment develop, the way it’s written, I fully believed it, which worked just as well for me. Also check TW. 🫣
There is foreshadowing very early on of a pending “betrayal” so the events of the cliffhanger should not really be a surprise. But despite that I did love Lark’s tenacity and loyalty to her cause(her love for her brother). It was pure torture to see the guys have to, for lack of better words, “torture” Lark as was well despite their growing feelings towards her. Both sides understand the bigger game at stake. No one is innocent so I feel like this will blow over a little easier than typical. I mean, Aeron did kill Lark’s mother after all and she forgave him 🫢
“We don’t get much choice in this life.”
It’s been a while since I’ve read a good RH and I just loved this one. ⚔️ crossing and slightly taboo innuendo (Aeron and Jude are brothers) that I absolutely loved. I just can’t wait to see how the rest of this story unfolds!!
The audio was fabulous as well. I love Michelle, Teddy and Troy. But Lucas Webly is so underrated. Brings me back to my love of him in the Tate James’s series.
Wow! This was a hot & steamy read right from the start and things just kept heating up the whole way through! It was also pretty dark, which is to be expected, and I loved pretty much everything about it! The beginning was the only thing that threw me off a little. I know this is a completely fictional book, but I like it when things are somewhat believable. I can’t imagine in any situation where someone has been held captive and tortured for weeks then all of a sudden they see one of their captors and Bam! Insta turn-on, let’s screw right now. Haha But I get it, it’s make believe and it was hella hot, so ya, I can look past that. And honestly as far as the rest of the story is concerned I loved it all and I’m here for it! Those Tailor boys are everything and I actually really liked Lark as well! There really isn’t much choice in gang life and they all know you gotta do what ya gotta do to survive and save the ones you love. This book leaves off on a somewhat predictable cliffhanger, and I can’t wait for the next book to release to find out how it’s all gonna end!
I really had a hard time getting through this one. I love my dark romance, but the way it started off was just weird. Had no idea about any of the characters and then suddenly you have a woman who is locked up and has been getting tortured. And the first thing to go through her head is “oh this man is hot, I miss fuck him” ?! Really woman? You have been beaten and could barely move and you just think with your pussy? Definitely not a fan. I probably should have DNF’d right there, but I didn’t.
I feel like it probably should have given a little back story before that, instead of throwing little bits and pieces scattered throughout the book. I felt no real connection between any of the characters and it all seemed to move so fast but slow at the same time. I don’t know how to explain it. Yes the scenes were spicy, but it could have done with more story. I just felt the book wasn’t really going anywhere until the last 10% of the book.
It did have a good premise to it, but definitely missed the mark.
****** I AM ONLY RANKING THIS LOWER THAN IT SHOULD BECAUSE THE AUTHOR IS LAZY AND DIDN’T LINK IS A PLAYLIST****
If you’re going to mention songs the start of every chapter, but not provide an easily accessible playlist of said songs, you’re a JERK!!! And I am being mild on my opinion of this. This frankly makes me angry. You go through the trouble to find some nuanced indie artist to list as the vibe of a chapter for the 9000 chapters of a book you’ve written, but can’t do the most basic courtesy of making a playlist on the 500 bajillion ways your readers can listen to music?! Or link it somewhere readers could look for it?? Come on! Minus ratings on my part. And it takes an extra 90 hours of time to get through the book if they decide to listen to your recommendations?!
So I gave two stars because I listened to the audiobook and the narrators were awesome. I got this book because it had Teddy Hamilton narrating it but even he couldn't save this one for me. The plot sounded good when I read the blurb but... The girl has been tortured for weeks, then four hot men come and she doesn't mind being tortured anymore? She has no nails, back completely cut and that first thing she does when she sees Knox is f**k him? Even in excruciating pain? Like I love a really dark romance but come on now. And the fact she keeps talking about her only fans makes me laugh. Also the guys are supposed to be these mean crazy dudes but fall for her in the first second of seeing her? Also the plot got lost with so much smut, again, I love a smutty book but please keep the plot going. And the incest part? Why? I don't get it. Never trusting a tiktok recommendation ever 😂
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I am not okay. We really just leaving it like that, huh? You know the cliffy is coming, you can kinda guess when/where it'll cut off but you're still frustrated as hell when you get there. I'm gonna need AttR asap pls.
Lark was absolutely the type of FMC I enjoy reading. Instantly loved her and is someone I would be friends with and probably the type of FMC I would write if I was writing myself. She's sexually charged with a smart mouth and I'm obsessed. Her loyalty to her brother is unwavering despite her deep love for her Tailor boys and that's commendable. My heart breaks for all she's been through and pray she heals and finds the freedom she's owed. I wish she trusted them enough to help her but its hard to see clearly when it comes to protecting family.
Each of our Tailor boys brings something different to tbe table and have very distinctive personalities and traits. Sometimes with a why choose the MMC's blend together but these guys were well established and easily identifiable when reading the different POVs so credit to Rosa Lee for that. Whilst I do love all the Tailor boys, almost equally, I would sell my soul to have Aeron call me a good girl. That man has my whole heart. Though I am also keen to learn more about Daddy Knox and our gentle but dominating Tarl and can't wait for more of overexcited puppy dog Jude.
I have really enjoyed my first Rosa Lee book and have absolutely been sleeping on her but best believe I will be filling the Tailor boys void with more of her work. The spice was impeccable, we get an abundance of group scenes with xtra hot MM action and swords crossing and it was all v delicious.
This story is beautifully dark, full of intense emotions and traumas that are difficult to express. The mafia rivalry that has been going on for years has reached a boiling point, and they will never be the same again. Never stop until one side is dead and gone.
Lark is the star of this story. She's the one that fought to protect her brother. She would endure anything to protect and save him. Her love for her brother gives her the strength to keep going. She will never betray him.
The Tailor brothers each have a unique way of showing their love for Lark. Aeron is the bossy yet charming one who melts her heart, Jude is the mischievous baby brother who brings her joy with his crazy antics, Knox is the strong and sexy daddy who gives her strength, and Tarl is the healer with mismatched eyes who will help them all mend her broken pieces.
This story is thrilling and full of unexpected twists to keep you on the edge of your seat. I am eagerly anticipating the next story.
The audio book was amazing! It would be 3.5 stars for me if it wasn’t for the duet narration bumping it up to 4 stars. The story was spice focused (nothing wrong with that). But I do like a little more plot then we got in the first book. Hoping the second book makes up for little plot in book one. But if you want a spice heavy sexy book, do yourself a favor and listen to this one. Some spicy books are better on audio, and this is one of them. I wish all spicy books were done in DUET/DUET full cast narration
